Where did export to Images Go?

Hello- I just "upgraded" keynote from the AppStore and was shocked to see that export to images is now gone.
Apple... why?
How do I export to images from keynote?
First they removed export to Flash, and now this? C'Mon! Why take away one of the best features? Is there a way around this?
Apple... stop taking features away!!!
Thanks!
Update... I had to restart my computer and it came back (strange!)... disregard!

Hi all...
I've recently (and reluctantly) upgraded to OSX Lion due to iCloud, since I was heavily using iDisk and MobileMe. What a mistake... since then I've had Logic Express 9 throwing up crash reports everytime I close a session. Luckily, I haven't lost any data.
Try this:

I finally found out about Quiktime not functioning in 64-bit from previous discussions... so, I was able to finish my project in 32-bit. But thanks anyway!  -- Andy

  • Where did exported file go? Why does it time out?

    Right now, I'm a little more than frustrated with this "tool" and have two issues with it.
    First issue:  Followed the steps to convert a PDF to Excel. First time, it timed out and I received an error message "Adobe ExportPDF could not successfully export your PDF file (file name).pdf. The conversion of your uploaded PDF timed out." Second time I tried it by turning off the OCR feature...same error message.
    I will admit that the PDF file I am trying to convert to Excel is almost 3,000 pages long, but each page does not contain a whole lot of data. What I do with the converted Excel file is run a VBA macro that I developed to pull out the information we need. However, I also tried to convert a smaller PDF file to Excel with the same results...error...timed out.
    Second issue: When I finally did get a PDF to convert to Excel and I tried to download it to open it...nothing appeared. Nothing opened in Excel. Export to PDF indicated that the file could not  be previewed and I should download it to view it. (Huh???) Then I tried to save it instead of opening it. I can't find where it went!
    I volunteered to test this tool for my department of 45 others who would definitely benefit from the use of such a tool...if I can get it to work. So far, things are not looking so good. If I can't get this to work for me as the tester, then I will have to cancel the subscription I just signed on for and look for other conversion software that does work.

    I’m on the Adobe site and trying to reply to you. It’s not working.
    I had my subscription cancelled on Wednesday. We can’t use this.

  • ITunes 8 - where did export go?

    Is there any way to export a playlist now with iTunes 8? I don't see the option any longer under File. I need to transfer a playlist from my desktop to my laptop and don't seem to be able to do so.

    It's under the File Menu -> Library. This opens a submenu with your export choices.

  • Where did my iPod image Go on my desktop???

    This has been a....learning experience? I just got a new iMac and have accidently been using my iPod to transfer photos over. I say accidently 'cause I didn't want it to and now I seem to have lost a bunch of photos on both computers, old and new. Grrrr. It seems to automatically start f'ing things up once I plug the iPod in. While this is happening, I'm scrambling to shut off the automatic updating feature. Am I really, really dense or is there no way to turn this feature off until you plug your iPod in?
    But that's not the question I really wanted to ask. One adorable photo of my adorable son only seems to be on the iPod. Why it went away on both machines is beyond me but there it is. Well, if I can just open up the iPod image on the desktop, I can find what folder it's in and burn that to a CD. Or something; I just want that one photo for a Christmas card. However, the mounted iPod image immediately disappears after it's done updating. (Which is blazingly fast on this new iMac, btw!)
    How can I look around in my iPod or is there a simpler solution? I've got to believe there is.
    Thanks.

    You can use a keyboard command to prevent your iPod auto-syncing with iTunes. While connecting the iPod to the computer on a Mac hold down the Option and Command (⌥ and ⌘ Apple) keys. This will stop the iPod from auto-syncing with iTunes and it will appear in the source list. Wait until you are sure the iPod has mounted, and that it will not auto sync and then you can let the keys go. This may take between 20 to 30 seconds depending on your computer: iTunes Keyboard Shortcuts for OSX

  • JAI export of images on laptop have wrong colors

    Has anyone come across a problem where the exportation of image formats (jpeg, png) from JAI end up with almost negated colors that the original? I have an application that draws to the Graphics of an Image object, and I successfully export that AWTImage using techniques found here in the forums. My PC works great but my laptop ends up with a dark green instead of white background in the saved file.
    Here is the code I use to convert a java.awt.Image to a PNG file:
    public void exportPNG(Image image)
      if (image == null)
        return;
      try
        JFileChooser chooser = new JFileChooser();
        if (chooser.showSaveDialog(this) == JFileChooser.APPROVE_OPTION)
          this.repaint();
          this.setCursor(Cursor.getPredefinedCursor(Cursor.WAIT_CURSOR));
          String filename = chooser.getSelectedFile().getCanonicalPath();
          OutputStream output = new BufferedOutputStream(new FileOutputStream(filename));
          ParameterBlock pb = new ParameterBlock();
          pb.addSource(image);
          pb.add(DataBuffer.TYPE_BYTE);
          PNGEncodeParam.RGB encodeParam = new PNGEncodeParam.RGB();
          ImageEncoder encode = ImageCodec.createImageEncoder("PNG", output, encodeParam);
          encode.encode(JAI.create("format", pb));
          output.close();
          } // ends if
        else
          JOptionPane.showMessageDialog(this, "Image export cancelled", "Cancel", JOptionPane.INFORMATION_MESSAGE);
        } // ends try
      catch(Exception e)
        String message = "Could not export the image because of the error:\n " + e.getMessage();
        JOptionPane.showMessageDialog(this, message, "Error", JOptionPane.WARNING_MESSAGE);
        } // ends catch(Exception)
      finally
        this.repaint();
        this.setCursor(Cursor.getDefaultCursor());
        } // ends finally
      } // ends exportPNG(Image)
    Does anyone have any ideas?

    I heard back from a Sun staffer and apparently I was using the JAI code incorrectly. The oddity is that I was getting a legitimate result on all non-Windows 2000 machines. Here's the distinction if anyone else has this issue.
    // This commented block causes image corruption on Windows 2000 machines.
    // The corrected version can be found below.
    // ParameterBlock pb = new ParameterBlock();
    // pb.addSource(image);
    // pb.add(DataBuffer.TYPE_BYTE);
    ParameterBlock pb = new ParameterBlock();
    pb.add(image);
    PlanarImage imgSrc = JAI.create("awtImage", pb);
    pb = new ParameterBlock();
    pb.addSource(imgSrc);
    pb.add(DataBuffer.TYPE_BYTE);
    The rest should be as above in the original posting.

  • How do I print a mirror image?  Where did the old functionality go?

    Within the last several months I was able to print a mirror image of my document to my HP DeskJet F4180 in high resolution. I don't know if it is the new HP drivers, or my new Snow Leopard OS but now I can' figure out how to do it again. I can grab a screen shot in and flip it in Preview but it ends up printing in low resolution.
    I have printed mirror images in the past from my PDF applciations and I think from Office 2008 (PowerPoint). I find no documents saved on my hard drive that come up saved as a reverse image so I suspect that I was using a printer feature not an application feature to print mirror images.
    Where did this functionality go?

    Found it!
    Use the check box marked Flip Image. Didn't is say mirror before?

    I still use Aperture 2.1.4.  I need to export an image file with a CMYK profile.  Whereas a generic CMYK profile is listed in ColorSync Utility, it does not appear on the list of profiles in the edit portion of the export preset dialogue.  Help?  Is there some way to add the CMYK profile to the list of choices that are available in the export preset dialogue such that I can choose it?

    leonieDF
    Thanks for your response.  My profiles are located within color sync utility as you can see here:
    These profiles do not respond to clicking and dragging.  Since they are all in one place, more or less, I'm reluctant to make further attempts to relocate them.  Accessing the CMYK profile is the first difficult experience I've encountered with this arrangement.  I have never needed the CMYK profile until recently, and that need has now past.  However, it remains a mystery to me as to why it does not appear with all the others on the menu of export choices in Aperture 2, or on the menu of profile assignment choices in the Preview application (where again all the other profiles are listed as choices).  I'm beginning to think my current set up will permit me to view an image that was created in CMYK space, but does not easily assign, or convert to that space.  I don't face these restrictions with all the others, so it remains a curious circumstance for me.  I anticipate upgrading my computer and software in the near future which might alleviate this issue altogether.  Again, many thanks for your attention to this matter.  The reach of this community is astounding.

  • Chose 'Export to Shared Services' on a calc script....where did it go?

    I accidentally right-click and choose 'Export to Shared Services' on a Calc script in EAS.
    the help file is not much...I am curious...where did this export to in Shared Services? What is the point of this feature?
    Thanks
    JTS

    Hi,
    I think it was Hyperion's original idea to share objects between applications which were known as models, so you could export outlines and calc scripts to shared services and then shared them across applications or to synchronize different applications.
    It is something that I have never seen really used and I am sure it was dropped after 9.2, though the option still existed to export in EAS but you couldn't manage models in 9.3
    I think it has all be superseeded with concepts like EPMA and LCM.
    Cheers

  • I saw Corey Barker do a demo where he extracted an image from the background, then cleaned up the edge with a process that allowed him to de-fringe it.  I can't remember how he did it. And I can't find it.  Help!

    I saw Corey Barker do a demo a few weeks ago where he extracted an image from the background, then used a technique I was not familiar with to clean it up. You selected the area, then did something that involved going either to edit or select, then there was a dialog box that allowed you to dial it in, depending on the color background you were removing.  I can't find this anywhere. Can't remember.  It's driving me crazy!  If someone can help me find this, I would be very glad and grateful. Thanks!  Laura

    iTunes does prompt when it is going to erase a device, and the message is clear.
    She said in her message that she was able to successfully sync the old ipad. This indicated to me that itunes wiping the data was not an issue, because either it had been setup at the apple store (in which case it doesn't actually wipe the ipad despite saying it will*) (*based on a single case I saw), or because the itunes media folder was migrated.
    Furthermore, my solution was to tell her how to backup her ipad (by either doing it manually, or as a last resort, by deleting the corrupt backup -- that she couldn't access anyway.)
    I got that last part of the instructions from the "Taking Control of your iphone" book which I found samples of when I did a google search for "corrupted backup itunes".
    She marked this as a solution, so it worked for her.

  • How to export antialiased images of PDF pages?

    Hello all:
    I recently upgraded to Acrobat XI, and I am surprised to see that you STILL cannot export (or Save As) PDF pages to images that are ANTIALIASED!? Does anyone have a simple answer for this that doesn't involve a workflow of more than 5 steps? This is so headslappingly obvious a need that I'm at a loss for what Adobe's engineers are thinking when programming the Save As Image functions...
    I posted this question all the way back in 2009 (see post at http://forums.adobe.com/message/2411677#2411677), and still the answer is the same: when Acrobat saves pages as TIF or JPEG files, they are ALIASED. Who would want that? Who?! WHY?
    It's simply exasperating that Adobe does not include a tiny, little check box that says "Antialiased" in the "Save As TIF / JPEG Settings" dialog box where you set all kinds of parameters like resolution and colorspace....If the exporting process would just include antialiasing, you could set the resolution you desire and YOU'RE DONE.
    But, as far as I can tell, you still have to perform some kind of gymnastic routine like:
    Open the PDF and select all the desired page thumbnails to export.
    Right-click and choose Extract Pages. Make sure to check "Extract Pages as Separate Files."
    Export all the separate PDFs for each desired page into a folder somewhere.
    Open Photoshop and start recording an Action.
    Open one of the PDFs and specify the desired resolution.
    Save it in a desired location in an image file of your choice (TIF/JPEG).
    Stop recording the Action.
    Delete the resulting image you made of the test PDF page to avoid an overwriting error later when running the batch (or check box to overwrite in batch dialog).
    Run the Action in Batch mode on the entire folder of separate PDF pages.
    This is preposterous.
    Adobe, please get the simple things right for everyday low-level users before adding feature bloat to Acrobat with each passing version. Please.

    Hi Dave: Good points about reducing feature bloat and installer footprint taking priority for most users...
    However, if, as you say:
    Acrobat and Adobe Reader are developed as a standalone product family....
    Ultimately, since you can get an AA bitmap of a PDF file by just opening it in Photoshop etc., there is very little commercial demand for Adobe to include that feature in Acrobat.
    then, those people who do not have Photoshop (because AA is designed to be standalone, right?) cannot access antialiasing in exporting PDF images at all! Your point is exactly my point.
    If there is so little demand, then why include Export to Image functionality at all? Just eliminate it completely to save installer footprint space!....But, then, I'm sure you realize people would complain about that immediately, no? So, again, why include it at all when it's only able to export aliased images which virtually nobody is going to want? That's very passive-aggressive toward's Adobe's users. Nobody really benefits from half-baked features only begrudgingly included in software to placate the vocal minority of users who would otherwise miss it. I realize this isn't a huge issue for most users, but I think this points to a larger mentality within Adobe and the software industry in general....
    There is a huge number of people working in corporations that own legacy versions of AA who have not and will not likely subscribe to Creative Cloud! (e.g.: The 100-person architecture/engineering firm I worked at for 10 years had one copy of Photoshop on a community graphics workstation and made everyone use a sign-up sheet to access it.)
    Also, it's nice in theory that PDFs are supposed to be a print format. But, many many times, AA users have to make images (for PowerPoint, blogs, client portals etc.) from PDFs that they did not originally create and do not have the source files to recreate or export as images from their originating software. PDF export to images from Acrobat is their only choice without access to Photoshop.
    And, if AA is truly designed to be a stand-alone product, untethered from the capabilities of the entire suite of functionality across Creative Cloud apps, then a modular plug-in approach to controlling feature bloat would be more appropriate, no?
    For example, AutoCAD is a giant, sprawling application for technical drawing. And AutoDesk has recognized over the years that AutoCAD is used by many industries, each with special needs unneccesary to other industries' user base. So, they've created add-on packs of plug-ins that transform vanilla AutoCAD into AutoCAD for Architecture, Civil Engineering, Electrical Engineering, Bridge Design, Home Building, etc....see where I'm going?
    And Adobe has a far larger installed user base for Acrobat than AutoDesk does for AutoCAD! How about plugins like AA for Technical Publishing, AA for 3D modeling, AA for Presentations?...

  • HELP - Export Transparent Image in CS3

    There used to be a very useful function in CS2 under Help which was Export Transparent Image. What happened to that function in CS3 and how the hell do I export transparent image now in CS3?
    Please help, this is quite urgent.
    Thanks.

    I hear what you are saying Noel... But I came to these forums in good  faith  with a question about a tool I found useful that was no longer available. I  admit I let my frustration show in my first several postings about this because  in the other topic on this issue, one of  the staffers here even tried to say  the function did not even exist. That in  combination with the attitude that 'anyone that would use this function must have no experience' or should be  using Photoshop Elements did not strike me as either very helpful or polite. I  would never let one of my staff treat a customer who came to us seeking help to act this way. It is inexcusable and I saw from the other postings that I am not the  only one who feels this way.
    Here is a selction of a few of the things she said to me... she seems to have  confused me with someone else?
    "Dear same idiot who feels the need to use PM to continue an  ended/locked/deleted forum discussion,"
    "There  is no point in continual messaging unless you feel it is some sort of  release for your mental condition. Your message is clear. I have no problem  comprehending your words. I simply disagree with your insane  beliefs. I  understand fully who used the function and why it  was removed. I was simply stating a fact and offering an alternative that  you seemed to ignore. I don't care if the function meant something more  to you. Nothing I can  do is going to bring it back or afford you any better  people skills.  You need to get over this... and get over me"
    "I  just found the Google cache of the closed thread and realized that you   may not be the same idiot that contacted me earlier using a fresh forum   account. But that still does not make you any less of an idiot."
    "The  question posed in the forum was "How do I export transparent images in   CS5 like I did in CS4?" The question was "viable" and answers were given  by  others and myself. Just because you do not like an answer does not  mean you  have to act like a child."
    "The answer was not to beg Adobe to bring it back in a user to user  forum. If you want to communicate with Adobe, go to their feature  request form."
    "If you were a designer for 30 years, you would have known how to make a  transparent file prior to the Help function that Adobe added for a  few versions. With that Help function gone, you should now have the  intelligence to craft an action to do the same thing with the press of a  button. It  is not really a challenge. If you need assistance, bring this topic  back  to the public forum. Your rude PMs are worthless to us both."
    "I look forward to further discussion in  the public forum where you don't need to hide your personal problems in  PMs."
    I find these kind of responses by a staff member of Adobe forums to abusive  in nature. Granted after getting this kind of rude response back to my  questions, I returned in like kind. I usually do not have these kinds of  interactions online, I find them childish and a waste of time. They do nothing  for the greater good of the forums and help no one. but I don't take kindly to  being treated with disrespect.
    I hope this does not exemplify the tenor of communication here on Adobe's  forums. If so... it would be a shame, because Adobe has a great reputation in  our community. It would be a shame to let a few individuals tarnish it.
    I for one would prefer that the person is question has no further  communication with me. I think that would be best for all concerned. Thank  You.

    hope this helps someone.

    There is no change to this problem after 6 months since the last post. Put simply, and as stated in the previous posts, there is no way to scan a document and receive the image on your PC. If you are working with graphics for any length of time or want to create an image for inclusion as an image in a document or web page using this piece of equipment will not allow you to do so.
    Great shame as every other function works well - it cannot be beyond the wit of HP to include a Windows application that enables you to scan an image, receive it in the software you are using at the time (e.g. Outlook, Word, Photoshop...) and use it in your work.
    HP Printers several years older than this £1000+ Enterprise printer were able to do this simple job and have done so for a great many years. Just being able to use Microsoft's Fax and Scan would be start.
