Where did my addresses go after upgrade to 10.4?

I upgraded from 10.3.9 to 10.4.10 and, alas, my address book is bare. Hopefully, they are still alive and well in my computer. Can anyone help me find and import them?

I found that the iPhone appeared to have finished syncing, but in fact the apps were still being copied back to the phone from iTunes. If you wait a while (with the phone connected to your computer), you may find that they just keep appearing. Mine took about 30 mins.

  • Where did my apps go after upgrade of iPhone 4 to OS 5?

After going through the process of backing everything up and upgrading the software, my apps are gone.  When I go into the app store, the apps i had show install not a price or free, so there is something clearly indicating i had these apps.,  However the data associated with them is gone if i download them
Is this what i should have expected?  Is there a way to get the apps and their data back?
    Thanks

  • Where did RSS feeds go after mavericks upgrade.

I have lost all of my RSS feeds that were previously viewing in Mail after upgrading to Mavericks. Trying to view new RSS gives error message that no viewer app available.  I would like to retrieve my previous RSS feeds (wherever they went).  I can't find any RSS preferences in Mail or Safari.

OS X Mountain Lion removed all RSS viewers from Safari and Mail by default, and this hasn't changed in OS X Mavericks. You have to look for a third-party RSS viewer if you want to carry on using it

  • Where did my ringtones go after iOS 6 update

After updating to iOS 6 my ringtones are gone on my iPhone 4? Anyone else have this issue? I can honestly say that I regret upgrading to iOS 6. First my music wasn't synching and I had to manually fix that myself, thanks to a post I found on here and now my ringtones are gone. The iOS 5 update was a pain in the rear, but this one is really making me consider a change.
When I connect my phone to my MAC and click on the phone in iTunes and then click on Tones only one of my ringtones show up. I had 5 or 6. When I go into my iPhone settings for sounds/ringtones the only tones that show up are the default crappy iPhone tones. Very frustrating that everytime I do an update I have to manually go in a fix some screw up. Steve Jobs passing will be the end of Apple.

Strange that they don't show up in itunes. Where did you get these ringtones from?

  • Where did my photos go after syncing iPod touch?

I just downloaded a software update for my ipod touch and after it was done syncing, the photos were gone. I found the ipod touch photo folder but there were no pictures in it.  Where did they go and how do I get them back?  Thanks!

Photos were taken from the ipod touch.  I connected to my macbook via USB and downloaded a newer verson for the ipod.  When it was all done, the photos were gone.  Can't find them.  Are they stored somewhere and can I get them back?  If not, then how do I prevent this from happening again? Thank you.

  • Problems with address book after upgrading to Lion.

I have lost all my contacts and if I try to add a new contact it's gone after I close and reopen the address book.
Same thing if I import for example my gmail contacts.
But there is more. If I add a new group I can't edit the new, so it's stuck as 'untitled group' (and gone if I quit the address book and reopen it).
..and If I add a new contact I can't edit it once it's added. I simply don't have the edit button.
Someone having the same trouble? Or any suggestions how to solve it?
    Thanks!
(So this is after upgrading to Lion and with the new address book 6.0)

I'm a super loyal Apple customer for over 20 years. But I have to say, even though Apple has unparalleled  customer service, their responsiveness to software issues is non-existent.
I had a problem with iMovie a couple of years back that involved 40 hours of hard work for a client, only to have all my work lost due to a software bug. Many, many others had the same issue. Apple never acknowledged the issue. I doubt that they will acknowledge this issue.
    That's shameful.
I email to various groups, including a local residential group to which I add or subtract residents that move in and out of the neighborhood. AddressBook is now totally useless because I can't a new resident to the existing group! AddressBook 6 has been out how many months now? Not a peep from Apple with this issue!

  • Problem with Address Book after upgrade to 10.5.4

After upgrading to 10.5.4 I'm facing the problem, that Addressbook can't be used anymore.
Error: " Program can't be opened, because it is not supported by the architecture."
Is anybody having the same problem and how can can I reactivate Addressbook?
    Thank you for your comments.

My parents are also having that same problem on their mac mini after updating to 10.5.4. Their Mail app is also giving the same error. I'll post back if I find an answer... and if anyone else knows how to resolve this problem, please let us know.
    Thanks,
    Brian

  • Self-assigned IP address issue after upgrade

I do a lot of file transferring from my mac to another pc laptop, so I've got them hooked together with an ethernet cable.  I had this issue in the past, where I'd try to connect but my network settings kept saying the "ethernet has a self-assigned IP address and will not be able to connect".  The solution I found to fixing this was to open up the Advanced Settings, and change the IPv6 configuration to "Link-local only" and then everything would work perfectly.
I upgraded to Yosemite yesterday, however, and now that solution no longer works.  Still getting self-assigned IP.  How can I fix this??

I took the following from the Aztech website:
    8) Can Aztech HomePlugs work with Apple MACs?
Yes they can, Aztech HomePlugs work with Apple MACs. However, there is a requirement for using the Utility software. The Utility software will only run on Microsoft Windows 98SE / ME/ 2000/ XP/ Vista.
Which contradicts itself, if the Utility is required but only runs on Windows, how does that work on a Mac?

  • Safai and Stickies did not work accurately after upgrade lion

    Hallo,
    1. Safari: Version 5.1.5 and other before cannot show charts  and other buttons in the homepage of www.comdirect.de. (Firefox does it) Asking technical staff of comdirect, they told me: "it is a known problem of safari. Safari does not meet the standards". Up today there is no improvement in the divers updates of Safari.
    2. Stickies: Working some weeks with Lion,  two icons of the stickie-programm suddenly apeared in the Dock. Version 7.0, 874KB and Version 8.0 5,2 MB. Results:
Moving a stickie,  caused its duplication, other were lost.
Putting the Version 7.0 into the trash, it installs themselves again but more and more stickies disappeared.
I want my stickies back, where are they stored? What can I do to solve the problems 1) und 2)?
    Thanks for a praktikable proposal.

First off, if I had have unchecked "preserve user accounts and network settings" check box, would I then have had the fresh, 'new', and cleared out operating system I was hoping for?
Yes. That is correct. The only problem that might crop here is if there is something wrong at the disk-level or file-system-level that transcends the content of the system being installed. For this reason, some people like to wipe (reformat) their hard drive before doing a clean install.
Secondly, all my data from Tiger is in 'Macintosh HD', so it seems that anything that is in Previous Systems is a duplicate. Am I therefore safe to delete that folder? I checked the Library folder in Previous Systems, and it is identical to the Library folder in 'Macintosh HD'. I find this strange, because if everything in Previous Systems is a duplicate, doesn't that defeat the purpose of Archive and Install and simply waste memory?
Not everything. Because of the "archive and install" method, the installer doesn't try to upgrade your old system, it just archives it and installs a new one. Then it pulls over your old user accounts.
If you are sure you don't need any of the files from that previous system, then "yes," you can delete it.

  • Import Address Book after upgrade from panther.

    Hello folks,
A friend of mine recently upgraded to leopard from 10.3.9.
Made backups but can't import her old addressbook files.
The way i told her to do it is just to take the addressbook folder from 10.3.9 and replace it in Users > library > application support in Leopard. This has always worked in 10.4 or from 10.4 to 10.5 but this time it wouldn't.
Any idea's ? She can't go back to Panther and needs those address cards.
    Thanks for the help
    Jay

I figured it would be the same as after an upgrade from Tiger, so i just copied the folder out of Application Support :/
Now that Panther is gone there is no way to go back and export it to vcards or archive anymore.

  • Why did map apps downgrade after upgrading iOS 6?

I expect upgrading OS means every apps got improvement. But why did my google map downgrade into apple map? Does anyone know the reason?
    http://reviews.cnet.com/software/google-maps/4505-3513_7-35454676.html
    Google Maps review
The good: Map layers, turn-by-turn navigation, Street View, and offline access make Google Maps almost unbeatable.
The bad: No 3D city view.
The bottom line: With its impressive list of features and syncing of data across other devices, Google Maps is a must-have application for anyone running Android.
As far as mobile mapping goes, the newest version of Google Maps for Android offers one of the most robust experiences you can get. More than a simple piece of mapping software, this feature-fest offers turn-by-turn navigation, voice search, indoor mapping (select locations), public transportation information, Street View, and tons of other conveniences. Further, if you use Google Maps on your other devices while signed in to your Google account, your search history, Places, and custom maps sync seamlessly.

When viewing a location, Google Maps lets you activate a variety of add-on layers offering information like traffic, terrain, transit lines, satellite images, and bicycle routes, among others. There's even a Wikipedia layer that plots out entries related to your location, which is great for curious travelers. If you've made any custom maps on your Google account, you can overlay those as well.
If the add-on layers aren't enough, Google Maps lets you zoom into satellite photos to get a close look at buildings and street details. You can even activate street view to get a ground-level look at areas that have coverage. Unfortunately, though, the Google Maps app does not come with 3D flyover images baked in. To get these highly detailed images, you'll have to download it's sister app Google Earth. Hopefully at some point, these two titles merge to offer a more streamlined user experience.
One of the most important aspects of Google Maps for Android is directions. The app lets you easily conduct a search for a destination with text or voice, so you can get directions for driving, public transit, walking, or even biking. You can read your route in list form or hit the arrow icon to activate voice-guided turn-by-turn navigation. While traveling you can even fire up alternate routes if you happen to run into traffic.

But Google Maps is a lot more than just a database of geographic information. The application offers other baked-in services like Offers for nearby deals, Local search powered by Google Places and Zagat, and Latitude for locating Google contacts on the map (with their permission, of course). These services in aggregate make for a complete mobile experience that is pretty hard to beat.
Google Maps for Android now lets you cache maps for access while offline. This is hugely useful for travelers who frequently find themselves in areas outside of their home mobile networks. The feature lets you pinch and drag to determine the area you want to cache, and it tells you how much memory the saved file will cost you.

Had it happen on my iphone 4 that I use as an ipod now and I did a complete restore and it fixed the problem. I did do the over the air update the first time and this time I did it by connecting to itunes.

I just airdropped a AVCHD movie from my MAC mini to my iphone.  The iphone accepted it and after it was done, I have no idea where it went.
