Where did my iphone pictures go?

I connected my phone to my macpro.I then allowed it to do the upgrade. An error ocurred but it still had new feeatures and everything I used worked.I went away and took numerous new pictures. When i went to load them on my laptop it wanted to finish doing the upgrade.Another error message came up and when i went to view the pictures they were gone, but not all where gone just the new latest ones. Where did they go, what is wrong with the upgrades and how do I retrieve my lost pictures?

You should not be syncing/updating your phone on more than one computer. Most likely, the update downloaded and installed using your Mac Pro, but the backup did not restore. You set it up as a new device.  Then you plugged it back into your laptio, which you apparently either normally sync to, or at least synced to last, which said 'oh goody! a new phone! Do you want to restore it from your last backup?'
To which you answered, 'yes'.
Which them promptly wiped out your phone and restored it from the backup.
It did exactly what you told it to.
Your pictures are gone unless you had Photo Stream turned on.

I can't find My Photo Stream album after getting the iOS 8 upgrade. Where did all my pictures go??

That album, My Photo Stream, is no longer used.
Instead, look in "Recently Added" within Albums, and also within Photos in the various timescale views. Both places should contain photos taken by any of your devices.

  • Where did the iPhone Calendar list function(s) go with iOS7? The Calendar has gone all 'spread sheet' on me and definitely not user friendly. Please advise.

Where did the iPhone Calendar list function(s) go with iOS7?  The Calendar has gone all 'spread sheet' on me. If you select an item (grey dot) from the month display it will open up the 'spread sheet' at the current time of day, not necessarily when the calendar entry takes place.  I liked iOS6 where you could turn your iPhone to landscape mode and get that special 'spread sheet' feel if that's what you're into.  Has a 'List' presentation been removed from the iPhone Calendar with iOS7?

The List view is displayed by tapping the Search magnifying glass.

  • Help! - where did my Christmas pictures go?

I seem to have lost a bunch of my family's Christmas pictures and am hoping someone can help. I'm relatively new to iPhoto but have been using it successfully since we got our Mac about a month ago. I took a bunch of pictures and video clips on our little Canon Powershot camera at Christmas and imported them into iPhoto, on Christmas morning and more on Friday. I went through all the pictures and clips and uploaded a bunch of photos to Photoshop.com on Friday to share with family, so I know they were in iPhoto at that time. Last night when I got on the computer to look at the photos, all the photos and video clips from my last three imports were nowhere to be found. I tried viewing by Events and Photos and Last 12 Months and Last Import, but could not find them anywhere. Could I somehow have removed them from iPhoto when I uploaded them to Photoshop.com? I had not made a backup of the iPhoto library (have had some trouble doing this - topic for another post) and will be really disappointed if they are gone. Any help is much appreciated.

Welcome to the Apple Discussions. It's unlikely that you did anything to cause it. iPhoto has a habit of messing up it's database file if there's any type of interruption while iPhoto is writing to it. For a way to quickly recover from similar problems see the tip at the end of my signature. The library's database file, Library6.iPhoto, is the heart and soul of the library. Having a current backup copy can save you lots of headaches on down the line.
    Happy New Year
TIP: For insurance against the iPhoto database corruption that many users have experienced I recommend making a backup copy of the Library6.iPhoto (iPhoto.Library for iPhoto 5 and earlier) database file and keep it current. If problems crop up where iPhoto suddenly can't see any photos or thinks there are no photos in the library, replacing the working Library6.iPhoto file with the backup will often get the library back. By keeping it current I mean backup after each import and/or any serious editing or work on books, slideshows, calendars, cards, etc. That insures that if a problem pops up and you do need to replace the database file, you'll retain all those efforts. It doesn't take long to make the backup and it's good insurance.
I've created an Automator workflow application (requires Tiger or later), iPhoto dB File Backup, that will copy the selected Library6.iPhoto file from your iPhoto Library folder to the Pictures folder, replacing any previous version of it. It's compatible with iPhoto 6 and 7 libraries and Tiger and Leopard. Just put the application in the Dock and click on it whenever you want to backup the dB file. iPhoto does not have to be closed to run the application, just idle. You can download it at Toad's Cellar. Be sure to read the Read Me pdf file.
Note: There's now an Automator backup application for iPhoto 5 that will work with Tiger or Leopard.

  • Where did my RAW pictures go ?

Yosemite update to 10.10.3 installed the Photos app, and now Aperture 3.5.1 is disabled. In the Photos app I can only see the JPEG formats of my pictures, Where are the RAW versions of my pictures ?  Is it possible to see them in Photos ? How can I search for the file extension names in the Photos app ?
Aperture is disabled and asks me to update to the next version, but this app is not available for my country (Switzerland) in the app store. When will it be available ?
What can I do to recover my RAW pictures?

In the Photos app I can only see the JPEG formats of my pictures, Where are the RAW versions of my pictures ?
Are your photos RAW&JPEG pairs?  You can switch between RWA or JPEG as original image file in the EDIT panel. In Edit mode there is an option the "Image" menu, to switch between Raw and JPEG as original.
Aperture is disabled and asks me to update to the next version, but this app is not available for my country (Switzerland) in the app store. When will it be available ?
Apple stopped selling Aperture. So it is no longer available for purchase on the main page of the AppStore.
Do you see Aperture on your Purchases page as one of your Purchases?
Then move the incompatible Aperture version from the Applications folder to the Trash , don't  empty the trash, then restart the App Store and try again to install, but from your purchases tab.

  • Where did the Online Picture Album go?

I've been sending pictures to my Online Album for years; it's really the only way I have of getting pictures from my phone to my computer. I tried to access it just now, but it keeps redirecting to the generic "Media Products and Services" page. I've searched the site and Googled and looked at the message boards and I can't find anything about this.
Is this temporary? Am I missing something? Or is it all over? Do pictures I've taken with my old Motorola Rival now stay on my phone forever?

i still can't get to the old album simply through vzwpix.com, even when i'm logged in -- it just reroutes to the main verizon page -- even the person on the 'live chat' wasn't helpful in answering, had to call the customer care.
here's another way to find it in case --
    http://verizonwireless.com/photos
    which re-routes to
    http://picture.vzw.com/pub/gallery.do

  • Where did my iPhone notes go?!

I tried to sync the notes on my iPhone to my MacBook Pro but now they're gone from my phone!
In my iTunes, I went to my iPhone then to my "Info Tab". I checked "Sync Notes" under the Other category but I was also in a rush and under the Advanced category, I checked "Replace information on this iPhone: Notes". So now I have no notes on my iPhone (I had about 60) and I went to check into my Mail app on my MacBook (because I thought that they would be there) and they aren't there!
Is there any way I can get them back? I had some extremely crucial information in those notes.
All and any help is greatly appreciated

    Hi teresaparker,
Thanks for visiting Apple Support Communities.
It sounds like Notes may not be enabled in the iCloud preferences on your Mac. To verify, choose Apple menu > System Preferences, then click iCloud.
Select the Notes checkbox if it's not already checked.

Can someone tell me how to find my photos?I backed up my iPhone but Photostream was not on.pictures are not on my laptop so where did they go?

    Welcome to the Apple Community.
Backing up does not transfer your photos to your computer, if you don't want to enable photo stream, you will need to transfer your photos when your device is connected to your computer using iTunes.

  • My iPhone 5 was restored from backup, and while it was restoring everything else all my pictures slowly went from 900 to none. where did they go and how do I get them back?

My iPhone has been acting very strange lately and the only way to get it to turn on and function is to restore it. I restored it from a backup of my phone before I restored it. I was mostly worried about my pictures. I was relieved to see them all there,
until the number of photos in my camera roll and other albums began to go down. soon enough, all the pictures I had restored were deleted. where did they go and how can I get them back?

    Hi bluegrandpanash,
Thanks for visiting Apple Support Communities.
If you backed up your iPhone to iCloud before updating the software, first try the steps under "Restore from an iCloud backup" in this article to recover your data:

  • I updated my iPhone 4S to the iOS 5.1 software last Friday.  I noticed on Saturday that only the photos I had taken with my 4S were gone.  Where did they go when I syned my phone for the software update?

I updated my iPhone 4s to the iOS 5.1 last Friday.  I noticed the next day that the pictures that I had taken with only this phone were gone from my photos.  I still have over 1600 pictures on my phone that are there, only the ones taken from this device are missing.  Where did they go when I syned my phone?  I can't find them in my iTunes.

You should be importing all pics taken with iphone to your computer regularly, particularly before any update, restore, etc.
If for some reason you have failed to do this, tehn they are very likely gone.
You can try restoring from backup.

  • Hi there, I pay for extra iCloud space online. However I cannot seem to find any of my photos or account? As my iPod/iPhone only hold 1000 pictures, where are the previous pictures? And how can I access them?

You cannot use iCloud Storage to suppliment your iPad. They are mainly used to backup iPad.
    Free up space on iPad
Settings>General>Usage>Storage>Delete what is not needed to free up space on iPad.

    Hey linfrommi,
Thanks for the question. I understand that you are having trouble locating some application after the update to iOS 7. To troubleshoot this issue, let’s reset the home screen layout of your iPhone, which should move all of your applications to the second “page”:
    Reset iPhone settings - iPhone

Reset Home Screen Layout:  Returns the built-in apps to their original layout on the Home screen.

    Hi, Abril_Perez17.
This may be related to a new feature embedded in iOS7 that shows all purchased music by default.  Go to Settings > Music, then turn off Show All Music.  See if the issue ceases once the feature has been disabled.  This information is located on page 63 of the user guide below.
