Where did my movies go?

I just got a new windows laptop and am in the process of transfering my library from one computer to the next.  The first thing that I did was download all of the information that I have in the cloud.  (5 movies and some music).  Then I went to my other laptop and transfered all my other music that is not in the cloud.  When I was done, I went back and my movies were gone.  Most of my icloud music is still there, but it is not being marked as icloud music anymore.  What do I do to fix this?

When you checked that box, iTunes took them off the iPod at the next sync. Just re-sync them.

  • Where did my movies, music, documents, etc go?

Guys, I have no idea when or how this happened, but when I go into my finder, I only see Desktop, my username and Applications on the left hand side. I don't see movies, music, etc. Could someone please tell me how to get them back in the finder like normal? Thanks!!!!

With a Finder window open and your Home folder selected in the Finder Sidebar, select the Movies folder and drag it to the Sidebar and release. Repeat for your Music folder, etc.

  • HT201272 Where did my movies go?

I purchased 5 movies for my iPad: 4 with one account and 1 with another.  I deleted one to make room knowing I could "reload" it later.  When I went to reload, there was no evidence of any of the purchases in either account.  What happened?

Sign into the account from which the music was purchased and follow the directions in the article you linked.

  • Where did my rental movie go?

Last night I used Apple TV to rent a Movie (through the "Movies" icon at the top menu). I paid $3.99 to rent it and even verified the CSC code on my credit card. Where did the movie download to? I cannot find it anywhere.
I even tried to rent it again, but it told me I had already rented it.

I looked into my iTunes playlist, I looked into the 'recent purchased' section, and it's nowhere to be found. My last option was to start searching the music, podcast, and other tabs to see if it went anywhere else. But of course, it wouldn't show up there. I checked my bank account and my itunes purchase is showing up at the top of the charged list, so that let's me know that the download and charge kicked through. I tell you, I even went back to iTunes to the movie page, and the rental button doesn't show up. It just says 'preview'.
Please help me out. I searched everywhere possible, and I can't find where the movie went to(??) How do we get to the root of the problem? I'm not asking for a refund, since I know the new terms explain it very well that it just won't happen. All I want is to see the movie that I PAID for and it's NOT there.

  • I have a wish list in my itunes on my pc but it is not on my itunes on my ipad2.  When I scroll down my movies tab it is not under quick links---- where did it go?

I have a wish list in my itunes on my computer but i can't find it in my itunes on my ipad2.  I went to my movies tab and it is not there in my quick links.  Where did it go?  For that matter why does the itunes store/account look different on my ipad as opposed to my computer?  There is a lot of links missing from my ipad2 itunes -------

To my knowledge, the wish list has never been in the iTunes app. It certainly isn't now. You can comment to Apple here:

  • I rented a movie on my iPad. It began to download but then it disappeared. The movie appears in my rented videos, but when I click it, it says, "video rented but not downloaded. Go to downloads to manage downloads". Where did my downloads go?

I rented a movie on my iPad. It began to download but then it disappeared. I freed up a ton of storage space to make sure I had the room for it. The movie appears in my rented videos, but when I click it, it says, "video rented but not downloaded. Go to downloads to manage downloads". Where did my downloads go? I re-booted my iPad, signed off/on iTunes etc. I can't find a folder with downloadable items anywhere. ITunes just tells me, "you've already rented this video. Do you want to rent it again?" What happened to my movie?

Did you check the Videos app?

  • Where did I loose my movie

I have made a movie at length 31 min. The size is 1.19 GB, but when I copy it in explorer from iPhone folder to PC folder the size left is 0KB. Where did 1.19 GB go? What happens? The file is stored as a .MOV, but empty and not playable. Frustrated!

I choosed to accept lower quality through the transfering in the Awesome app/iPhone explorer. The Awesome app is automatically compressing the files.
As far as I can read 'Awesome app' just zips the files.
iPhone Explorer just copies files, it does not compress or re-encode files.
Are you saying that the video was HD, but was made smaller when exported?
The more I think about this the more I think it is your computer.
If the video plays fine on the iPhone, then it should transfer off fine and at the same resolution it was created at.
So my guess is that your computer is messing up the files.
Once you've tried to get the videos off on another computer tell me how it goes.
I really recommend wifi photo transfer:
    http://itunes.apple.com/us/app/wifi-photo-transfer/id380326191?mt=8
This creates a webserver out of your iPhone, and any one on the same wifi network can access the photos and video.
This app can export and preview smaller photos, but will transfer the full resolution videos.
If you shot in 720P HD, then edited in iMovie, then exported full size, you will have a 720P video at the end.

  • Downloaded newest iTunes, now can't see cheap movies in the right hand side topics; where did it go - how do I get to them?

Downloaded the newest itunes, now I can no longer see the "cheap" movies listed on the links to the right hand side.  Where did they go, and how do I now get to them?  I tried search and that didn't work.

Are they gone completely from the computer, or just no longer in the library? Check your movie media folder.
If your'e in the USA you can download some movies a second time, but not all (studio dependent).  You should always back up all media.

  • Where did my photos go? I started to move a 25GB directory of all my photos to the creative cloud and now they are gone!

where did my photos go? I started to move a 25GB directory of all my photos to the creative cloud and now they are gone! The directory on my hard drive i gone and they are not in the cloud?

The iCloud Photo Stream only stores up to 1000 photos for thirty days.  If you have more that 1000 photos or photos nearing the 30-day mark, you should export them to another device.

  • I never watched a movie I downloaded where did it go?

I never watched a movie I downloaded where did it go?

    Try the videos app.
If it's a rental, it might have expired and disappeared.  I believe that would happen 30 days after you rented it.
UPDATE - Sorry, I said videos app above thinking you were asking about an iPad (because your post says iPad).
But you're asking this in the iTunes for Mac area, so there, check the "Movies" area.

Thank you for your prompt reply.  I have bought 1 MacbookPor 17, 1 Macbook air, 1 MacbookPro 15 , 2 ipads, 3 iphones, and this iMac27 and 2 of iMAC24 or 20 not sure   but I do not recall ever doing what you are telling me in your reply.   When you get a extended car warranty, you don't   sign up for it.. it is just there and is included in the sale.   You don't buy this warranty to use it.. You buy it, in case something happens.   Here a perfect iMAC with minimum 100 hour useage has a dead drive.  That is not normal and I should not have to even be requesting anything since most MFG offer a 3-5 year warranty on their disc drives and I believe that is probably passed on to Apple regardless if an extended warranty is purchased or not.   Customer service dictates a more flexible approach to make sure the lifetime value of a customer is not lost due to some misunderstanding.
I was in the MacStore that I purchased the unit..and they found and pulled the invoice and confirmed
the purchase of it in front of me.  I had paid with credit card and fortunately it was there in their system.   I do not also recall recieving any box or paper although most everything I ever get remains sealed.. I am not in the habit of opening anything since I have never encountered any serious issues before.
I have used my Macbookpro warranty 1 time  and that is all throughout the years I have been investing in Apple equipment.
I just recieved a letter from the store asking me to get the paper to them so they can register it... I don't recall getting any paper actually.  But I do have several boxes sealed here..  On this iMAC27, it was a hurry up and get it done thing and I don't remember taking anything extra with it.   Regardless,  my request does not seem unreasonable.
    Thank you

  • HT1657 I can not find my rented movie on my iPhone or Mac Book, says I purchased it. Where did it go???

I rented a movie on my IPhone from ITunes.  I plan to watch it on the flight home.  HOWEVER, I can not find it anywhere, in ITunes.  Not though my phone or computer. I waited a couple of days to see if I was charged through email.  Nothing.  So tried again to rent it, ITunes is telling me I have already rented it.  So, I looked in my account and they charged me.  So the BIG question is where is my movie.  I'm leaving tomorrow, any ideas would be GREATLY appreciated.

Did you look in the video App.

  • Just installed ilife 11 and it deleted my movie project, where did it go

Just installed ilife 11 and it deleted my movie project from the old version, where did it go

Installing iMovie will not cause a project to be deleted, so it is probably there somewhere.
What version of iMovie did you have before? Is everything on your internal drive, or do you have external drives?

Downloaded films (and those synced from your computer) should be in the Videos app (iTunes on the iPad is just the iTunes store) :
