Where did my other playlists go??

Ok so I am new with this whole Ipod thing. Basically I have 3 playlists right now on my computer. I put one playlist on my Ipod then put playlist #2 on. For some reason, it deleted my playlist #1 and only shows #2. The only way I can figure out how to add additional songs/playlists is to re-download everything at once meaning add playlist 1, 2 and 3 at the same time. There has got to be a better way to do this instead of downloading multiple playlists at once EVERY time. What button or setting to I have to push to correct this?

If you pick to sync only selected playlists, then yes, you have to pick ALL the playlists you want to be put on or remain on your iPod. But it doesn't reload them everytime. Instead it just updates them as needed on the iPod.

There is something on your iPhone (a music file, iBook, document or video) that belongs to another Apple ID. Only your wife would know how that file arrived there. Your iPhone is asking for the correct Apple ID for all of the files that are resident on the iPhone.

For music that you've purchased from Apple that are on your iPhone you should be able to copy to your computer's iTunes via File > Transfer Purchases. Also if you are in the US then you should be able to re-download past music purchases for free : http://support.apple.com/kb/HT2519
For your own music that you've copied, then if you haven't got a backup on, for example, external drives or CDs/DVDs then you could see if any of the utilities mentioned in this old post still exist and work

My iphone says I have 331 songs but only 139 can be played...where did the others go? How to get them back?

The songs disappeared from two computers and are grayed in on my iphone...I cannot play 192 songs...how to get them back or how to delete them from my phone so I can start over? I do not want icloud...I synced my phone to the computer and everything was fine for awhile...where did the songs go?

Because it says it's incompatible when it can't be, I got hope. I get error messages all the time with my iPod and iPhone that it cannot sync and that 'this device is not capapble of connecting to iTunes' stuff. I literally forget that happened, plug it in again and it works, I later realize that iTunes made a mistake, they do that.

It was about starting a podcast, had tons of stuff in it, very detailed, about using raw xml, etc. Posted at 3:40 something...

If you pick to sync only selected playlists, then yes, you have to pick ALL the playlists you want to be put on or remain on your iPod. But it doesn't reload them everytime. Instead it just updates them as needed on the iPod.

Let's say that I browsed through five pages and I want to go to the 4th one. I used to be able to click on the arrow in the menu bar to see that last pages browsed, now it shows pages I go to most frequently, where did the other pages go?

In the previous version of Firefox, I used to be able to browse any number of pages - for example, let's say I went to google. I started a search and then went to one of the links, browsed around the site for a while (each page registering in the history) and then I wanted to go back to the original google search. In the OLD version of Firefox, all I had to do was go to the arrow at the end of the navigation window, and I'd see all the places I had been and I could select one to go back to it. Now, when i hit that down arrow, I see an list of pages I go to frequently, not the pages I've been to in backward order. I really miss that feature. I am using 4.0.1.

You can get the drop down list by either right-clicking on the back/forward buttons, or holding down the left button until the list appears.

Where did my other Media Types go?

I just upgraded from 10.2.8 to Tiger and now when I choose our old color printer (Xerox Phaser 790) the other media types are not highlighted in the drop-down menu as available. I'm trying to print out of any application and looking under Printer Features/Set 3/Media Types. The only option available it Plain Paper, and they all used to be, so I'm not sure if I'm doing something wrong or if there is another problem I should be worried about.
I've attempted to reinstall the driver and that didn't work. I just spent two hours searching for someone with a similar problem but haven't found any, so if anyone has any ideas I'd appreciate them.

As a general rule, the actual reported capacity of a hard drive is about 7% less than the advertised capacity.
The discrepancy you are noticing is due to the differences in the way that hard drive manufacturers calculate disk capacity and how it is reported by the operating system.
HD manufacturers use a decimal measurement to calculate disk capacity. They consider a gigabyte (GB) to be 1 billion bytes.
The decimal measurement would be 1000 x 1000 x 1000 which equals 1,000,000,000 bytes. For example, an 80GB hard drive means that the disk has an unformatted capacity of 80 billion bytes. (80,000,000,000 bytes.)
Since computers "speak" binary, not decimal... the operating system calculates a gigbyte (GB) differently.
The binary measurement would be 1024 x 1024 x 1024 which equals 1,073,741,824 bytes.
Using the example above, an 80GB hard drive would be reported by the operating system as 74.5GB.
80,0000,0000,000 / 1,073,741,824 = 74.5GB
1GB iPod = 930MB
2GB iPod = 1.8GB
4GB iPod = 3.7GB
20GB iPod = 18.6GB
30GB iPod = 27.9GB
40GB iPod = 37.2GB
60GB iPod = 55.9GB
Since the iPod operating system and extras also take up some space, you will be left with slightly less that the above stated capacity for your content.

Iv had similar issues, I think next time I'm just going to ignore and keep going. The last project I made, I had the bit-rate just so so the final video timelines all added up would be about 46gb, my menu system was VERY basic, no animations, music, or background video. When I was ready to create ISO encore says the project is like 60 gb. So I went back to premiere, downsized the nitrates of everything to two the final project down 11gb, created the project again. Final size was about 49 gb. Create ISO, and under properties of the iso it says it's like 35 gb. Gimme a break! I still burned it, begrudgedly. But I think next time I get this I'll just ignore it. All I ended up doing was sacrificing bit-rate for nothing.

Safari 3 preferences window problem: where did the other tabs go?

i'm running an up-to-date leopard mac with the latest version of safari. however, since installing leopard, safari 3 has had NO PREFERENES PANES besides general.

the preferences were alive and well on a guest user account; I copied that plist file into my user account and put it in the prefs folder, and it works fine now.

Where did my VRAM go???

I bought a new Powerbook in May and upgraded to 128 of video ram, as well as boosting the memory.
I double checked these in the system profiler when I got the machine.
However, I am having trouble installing the new 10.4.3 update and happed to look in the Apple Profile again .... only now .... it only shows 64MB VRAM!
Where did the other 64MB go????
Is this actually two chips and maybe one has gone bad already???

I wouldn't panic just yet. You'll find the following topic below to be of interest. While there is not enough information known yet it seems, anecdotally at least, that the System Profiler is not reporting accurate information about system. As you can see from the other topic I did not have any errors listed regarding the Sudden Motion Sensor (although others did) yet it did not report as being active in the System Profiler. Through Console however I was able to determine it was in fact 'turned on'. Try using restart and see if the missing 64MB VRAM shows up again.

Where did my hard drive available space go?

I partitioned my hard drive to for bootcamp last week (100GB) and then decided that I didn't want it anymore, so I attempted to remove the partition. Now, whenever I start my computer it seems boot to an empty partition - I just get a black screen that tells me to insert a disk (or something of that sort). For some reason that is the default - I have to hold the "option" key to be able to boot up to my Mac side. It looks like I need to change the defaulty boot disk - I could do this on a PC, but don't know how to on a Mac.
My biggest problem, however, is that even though I got rid of the second partition, I haven't seemed to get back the 100GB. When I go into the Disk Utility it shows that I have 499.76GB Capacity, but only 359.3GB Available and 39.7GB Used. (I am assuming that Capacity = Available + Used, other at least close to) Where did the other 100GB go and how can I get it back?

If I do manage to figure out how to do what you have suggested will this restore my iPhoto Library and I assume maybe other files?

Where did all these calendars come from??

This is now my second post!
I have a Blackberry Storm, and when I sync'd my personal laptop (calendar, contacts, notes etc) I have suddenly noticed that the appointments are duplicated on my Blackberry - but in different colours!
I then found that I could select which calendar I was to disply - and when I select just one of them things are OK, but when I select all, I see the duplicate appointments again!
So, my questions are this:
Firstly, Although I have three email accounts set up in Outlook - I only use one calendar - so where did the other two come from?
Also, how can I delete ALL calendar entries and start again?

Where did my 9 minutes go?

I bought a 120 minute subscription to the UAE for $14.99 plus a $5.00 credit, if you add up my calls I total to 1:50:45, that's not 120 minutes... so where did my other 9 minutes go?
After three text customer support chats, I've heard everything from it was connection fees, it wasn't connection fees, & it's manaually generated. I can't get a straight answer & I can't get an email to a supervisor, I want my minutes... so tell me what I'm missing here because obviously I'm not counting this right... If we're to not count where the rate starts again at the top then i'm obviously being shorted minutes here.

An entire playlist "can't be found"; these titles are also missing from my music/media folder--where did they go?

I had a Christmas playlist that worked until this year. All songs appear on the playlist w/exclamation point. All say "can't be found." They have disappeared from my music/media files. What happened? Where did they go? How can I get them back?

There's not much to go on since we don't know what you've done to your computer over the past year, etc.
Have you used Spotlight to search the hard drive for the files? Did you perhaps drag them to the trash or a different directory sometime over the past 12 months?
If they are iTunes purchases you can download them a second time. If they are from a CD you can rip them again. If you have an old computer backup you can restore them from that.
