Where did my photo library go

So was on vacation during update, came back 2 weeks later, cannot find all the photos I had on my Mac, does anybody know why and more importantly how can I retrieve them?

Photos only changes the extension of the library package after it's converted. The name stays the same as you've noticed.

I just downloaded iOS8. Where did my photo stream photos go??? How can I get them back?????

If these were photos that were only in the Photostream folder of your Photos app, but not actually part of the Photostream itself, then the iCloud Photostream only holds the past 30 days of photos.
Use the iCloud Control Panel (if you're using Windows, download it here: iCloud for Windows - Apple Support), to see your actual iCloud Photostream.
Your device will hold the Photostream photos until they are removed, but you should never treat your device or the iCloud Photostream as permanent storage.  You should be importing them to your computer on a regular basis for safe keeping.

  • Where did my photos go? I started to move a 25GB directory of all my photos to the creative cloud and now they are gone!

where did my photos go? I started to move a 25GB directory of all my photos to the creative cloud and now they are gone! The directory on my hard drive i gone and they are not in the cloud?

The iCloud Photo Stream only stores up to 1000 photos for thirty days.  If you have more that 1000 photos or photos nearing the 30-day mark, you should export them to another device.

  • After installing Mavericks iTunes 11.1.3 does not find my recent iTunes Library. Where did my current library go?

After installing Mavericks iTunes 11.1.3 does not find my recent iTunes Library. Where did my current library go? The new iTunes opens a 2009 library on start up. My most recent library is ignored even when I go to it directly and start iTunes with it. In another thread someone suggested repairing permissions, I did that and it did not help. I ripped my entire CD collection over the summer (1000's of songs) and now they just don't exist...or I can't find them. They were there before I upgraded to Mavericks the other day. Now vanished. I have found no other issues with Mavericks (yet). Played the music last week; upgraded, now can't find my complete current library. If anyone has a clue as to what might be causing this I sure would like know. Thanks to anyone who can help.

Hi, sorry to hear you had this problem. Sometimes after updating iTunes the library appears blank because a new library (.itl) file has been created. Anyone else experiencing this issue may be able to resolve by following the steps outlined in TS1967. There is ofter a 'Previous iTunes Libraries' folder in the iTunes folder, by quitting iTunes entirely and replacing the currently named iTunes Library.itl file with the library file named by date in the Previous Libraries folder (should look something like 'iTunes Library 2011-08-03') and renaming to 'iTunes library.itl' and relaunching you should find the library looks the same as it did before updating (metadata intact).

  • Where is the photo library for itunes 11 on a 64-bit windows 7 computer?

I am trying to find the photo library in itunes 11 but it doesnt show up - only TV shows, movies, music, etc.  I go to Edit --> Preferences --> General tab and under sources there is no photo option - where did it go?

There is no Photo Library in iTunes and there never has been.
When you connect your iPod to your iTunes Library, select the iPod icon on the top right of the window (don't eject it):
    and then ...
and next, choose the folder that you want to use to Sync with your iPod...
... which in my case is named "Touch Pictures".

  • OMG! WHERE DID MY PHOTOS GO???

What the **** happened??? I just bought a new 2013 iMac and was transferring music from my iTunes library (via a thumb drive) to the new one. When I went back to the older iMac (2009) and opened iPhoto, a window popped up saying "Which photo library do you want to use?" I clicked "iPhoto Library (default)" as it was the only option on the page. When I opened it, EVERYTHING WAS GONE!!!
I've looked through "All my Files" but I can't find anything.
Is there a wat to REVERT back to my original iPhoto Library???
    Help is GREATLY NEEDED!!!
    Thanks!!!

Did you try to transfer your iPhoto library too? What exactly did you do - when ssomething goes wrong it is because something was done wrong so haveing the details of what was done is critical
I clicked "iPhoto Library (default)" as it was the only option on the page. When I opened it, EVERYTHING WAS GONE!!!
Is there an iPhoto library but it has not photos showing or is there no iPhoto library at all - if htere is one what size is it?
I've looked through "All my Files" but I can't find anything.
Anything - no photos? no files at all? no iPhoto library? again we can not see your computer so clear detailed desctiptions are critical
Is there a wat to REVERT back to my original iPhoto Library???
Restore your backup from just before this occured
as to transfering the iPhoto library - note that it must be on a volume formatted Mac OS extended (journaled) - Better than a thumb drive Connect the two Macs together (network, firewire target mode, etc)  or use an external hard drive formed Mac OS extended (journaled) and drag the iPhoto library intact as a single entity from the old Mac to the pictures folder of the new Mac - launch iPhoto on the new mac and it will open the library and convert it as needed and you will be ready move forward.

  • Where is "iCloud Photo Library" ?

I've been searching for the "iCloud Photo Library" since I updated my iPad to iOS 8, yesterday. No matter where I look and what I try, I just can't find the "iCloud Photo Library". I was looking forward to getting these 4,000 photos off my iPad and safely stored inside the "iCloud Photo Library" for safekeeping and easy access.
Can anyone tell me where to find it, so I can clear out these 4,000 photos?

It was removed from the initial iOS 8 release and demoted to a beta application that is supposed to be included in an iOS 8 update in October.  See http://www.macrumors.com/2014/09/12/apple-demotes-icloud-photo-library-beta/.

  • Where did my photos go after syncing iPod touch?

I just downloaded a software update for my ipod touch and after it was done syncing, the photos were gone. I found the ipod touch photo folder but there were no pictures in it.  Where did they go and how do I get them back?  Thanks!

Photos were taken from the ipod touch.  I connected to my macbook via USB and downloaded a newer verson for the ipod.  When it was all done, the photos were gone.  Can't find them.  Are they stored somewhere and can I get them back?  If not, then how do I prevent this from happening again? Thank you.

  • Where did my photos go ios 8

i installed the update ios8 on my 5c where did the rest of my photos go?

With iOS 8 there is no Camera Roll or My Photo Stream any more.  The MPS has been replaced with the Recent Activity album.
The CR is replaced by the Collections mode.  The closest we can get to the Camera Roll is to turn off the Summarize Photos feature in the Settings/Photos & Camera pane and view the photos in the Collections/Moments window.

  • Where did [user name] Library go?

Just upgraded to Lion and getting used to the changes. This may be a naive question, but where did the [user name] Library go?

Once opened, you can drag the icon to the Finders sidebar for easy future access.

  • Where is the photo library in ios7?

I've just updated to ios7 and now the photo library is missing, only the Camera Roll album is showing, anyone know how to solve this? Thanks

    Thanks Rich.
Would be helpful to all if Adobe would acknowledge such known bugs on their 10.9 Mavericks compatibility page.

The white sliders are mentioned but not the missing photo count (which was obviously reported in the beta phase). I'm sure there are more.

  • Where did my photos go?

Can't find an exact thread on this and I'm pulling my hair out.
Decided to synch up the iPhone (3G) last night to update my apps and it asked me if I wanted to upgrade to latest OS which I did. I walked away from PC and came back to notification that I had to upgrade iTunes to which I said "ok"...
This morning I noticed that roughly the last 200 photos I had on my iPhone are gone...missing. The first 104 photos I ever took with iPhone (going back a couple of years?) are still present. Where the heck have the last 200 photos gone too? I can't find them on my pc!!!!!!!

I have never experienced the same so I don't know except for this can and does happen, which has more to do with your iPhone's backup than with the update deleting the data.
The Camera Roll is for temporary storage. Photos in the Camera Roll can and should be imported by your computer as with any other digital camera.

  • Where did Web Photo Gallery on Bridge CS5 go?

When I first installed Adobe Design Premium CS5 on my Windows PC, I was able to use Web Photo Gallery from Bridge. Now it is just vanished. I click on Output and the right panel, where Web Gallery options was supposed to appear, it's just blank. How can I get it back? Thank you.

    Hi,
well previously it worked to get the reset window. However the reset did not help.
This time I didn't even get to the reset step.
I also tried to overinstall without previous deinstalling. Still had to update everything including the output module v. 2.1 No change.
    New ideas that could help?
    Thanks.

  • Where, oh where did my photos go?

I lost my photos somehow on iphoto. I have tried to restore them from my backup hard drive. I opened two finder windows and dragged iphoto library from the external to the mac hard drive, iphoto library. They are not there, but they are somewhere on my hard drive. I know they are because my available hard drive space has shrunk down to 4 gb, which is what I would have with 2 copies. I've looked everywhere, can't find them! Is there a hidden cache I don't know about where the copies are hidden. This is driving me mad.

I opened two finder windows and dragged iphoto library from the external to the mac hard drive, iphoto library. They are not there
Then you didn't drag them there. Obviously you missed your target somehow.
    Download an app like [WhatSize|http://www.id-design.com/software/whatsize/index.php]
It will scan your disk and find the largest folders. This missing Library is probably inside one of them.
Restoring from a back up is dependent on how the back up is made. But there is no version of restore that inculdes copying one iPhoto Library Folder inside another.

  • Where did old iphoto library go?

My main iPhoto libary has disappeared and I am freaking out. This happened after opening iPhoto with the option key down and opening it with a different library. Now I can't get my original library back. None of the libary options are the right one when opening with the option key down The images do not even seem to be on my hard drive. They are not listed under All Images. They are not in the Trash or iPhoto Trash. No, I do not have a backup. Yes, I am an idiot. Where could these thousands of photos have gone? Would it work to rebuild the library in iPhoto or is there any third-party software?

    two suggestions
Never use all images to find and modify any images - it is not a place but a list and if you delete or change theings there you may corrupt your iPhoto library
and not having a backup is inexcusable - if you do not have a backup at all times you are 100% guarenteed to lose all of your files and photos sooner or later - people, computers and software all fail and when they do a backup is your solution - I do two daily (Time Machine plus a daily clone), keep my photos on the camera memory card for a minimum of a year had have an off site backup - my files are important to me
