Where did my plug ins go!?

I'm in the process of several upgrades. New Macbook Pro and then Yosemite. Everything was fine so far (PLAY worked fine), then I added some new sounds to my East/West SOL PLAY plug in folder and now PLAY has disappeared from my Audio Units drop down menu for the plug ins. It is still in my Audio Units Manager, selected and successfully verified, but not an option to use as a plug in. When I bring up PLAY on its own it works with that keyboard, but it's not outputting to Logic. I have not upgraded to Logic X yet. That's next, but I'm still on 9 until I get this solved.
Any ideas on what went wrong?
Thank you in advance -Thomas

Hi, Thmann.
Try deselecting the PLAY plugin inside the audio units manager and rescanning it.
Another question. Did the East/West installer of the new sounds also install PLAY? If so, it might be an older version included with the library samples. Make sure you have the latest version from the EW site.

CS4 upgrade to CS6: where did my plug ins go?

where did my plug ins go?
Nowhere. They are still happily in your (former) PS CS4 plug-in directory. There is no such thing as automatic migration. You need to obtain the proper CS6 versions from the vndors (possibly at extra cost) and install those.

  • Where did the plug-ins go??

    Hi all,
Need a bit of help locating plugins that seem to have just vanished. for example when I click on a pre-set in space design it asks me to locate it? What does this mean? any thoughts? Its happening with other plug ins as well. shall i reindex? reinstall?

It's probably asking you to locate the impulse response file.
All Space Designer patches require two things - the plugin preset file (essentially the status of all the front panel controls) and the impulse response file, which is what actually generates the convolution reverb.
Read the Space Designer manual for more details.
Make sure you have the impulses responses installed and placed at the default system locations so Logic can find them.

  • Where do the plug-ins live?

Ok so i just installed Logic Pro Content. Have all the awsome sounds but the plug-ins are missing. I have songs i did a while back that need compressor and other plug-ins but none are there. They just have a line though it.
Now i have soundtrack Pro with all the same plug-ins.
So what is wrong and where do the plug-ins live in the mac.
Have installed the program more then once

Usually when lines are through the plug-ins like that, core audio has not been activated.
Go to Audio Hardware & Drivers, and first make sure to enable the core audio driver, then select your audio interface.
    See if that does it...

  • Where else are Plug ins stored and throwing things away

    Hello All,
Last year I had purchase Dot Pixels and i installed it in the Applications>AE>Plugins folder.  I got an email to upgrade to the lates version.  It warned to remove the old version before installing the new one, which I did.  However, with the new version the computer did the installation.  Unfortunately, its not working properly, its showing up as a trial version, so I would like to remove it, but its not in the Plug ins folder like the old one was, and when I "Search" for it nothing shows up.  When I type in Dot Pixel in the Effects and  Preset panel, its located in a folder named RowByte.
Where is it located so that I can trash it.
Since I cleaning tihs out and I love throwing away things to reclaim disk space, I noticed  in my HD>Library>Application Support folder a Final Cut Pro and a Final Cut Pro System Support folder, I dont use Final Cut, don't intend to use Final Cut and I don't know where or how Final Cut got to be anywhere on my machine, is it ok that I trash them and any other applications that I do not use and have folders in there.?
    Thank You in Advance
on a Mac os 10.6.8  using AE from the CS4 suite

    There are plug-ins that get installed in the Library>Application Support> Adobe> Common> Plug-ins folder.
I wouldn't mess with the Final Cut folders. They contain things like apple codecs for ProRez and Apple Intrmediate. They are good for you....

Adobe CC just installed Acrobat DC. PitStop Professional plug-in is not installed in Acrobat DC tools panel. The plug-in is the only thing that exists in my Acrobat 11 folder. Do I need to reinstall? How can I use existing plug-ins from Acrobat 11 in Acrobat DC?

  • Uninstalling Novation Automap plug-ins?

I ditched my ReMOTE and most of what I could find of the Automap software, but for the life of me I CANNOT find the renamed Plug-in(Automap) plug-ins that Remote sprinkled somewhere in my Logic setup. They are in neither 'components' folders where my other plug-ins are, but if I invoke the Plug-in manager within Logic, all the Automap plug-ins are still listed there (disabled, but listed). I can even 'test' them, so they must be somewhere on my system. I've tried Novation's useless support from their US Distributor, who provided no assistance. Please, anyone know where these things are kept? I want a clean uninstall of Automap!

ok..here's what I did after spending a lot of time tryng to find an .automap wrapped plug in list somewhere.. ( I've even used a soft named fsventer..)
I've moved all my au component plugs from /library/audio/components to /user/library/audio/components
then I'ved lunch AutomapServer and its plug in manager..all my automap plug were shown here.I've moved them back to the left widow listing all your plug ins.
finally lunch Ableton's Live or Logic..et voilà!
    hope its help.

  • Help! I screwed up my Plug-ins!

    Hello,
I screwed up my plugins on my macbook 10.4.11, safari version 3.1.1.
i moved around some folders from both the hd library and home library, and may have put them back in the wrong place.
when in safari, clicking help, then installed plugins, I lost all the plugins (there were like 50)
I see all the plug ins are still located in folder home/library/internet plug ins, but my OS is not seeing them. it has screwed up my java abilities too.
I ran disk utility but it says no errors
i tried to start from my Install disk and use archive and install, but i dont have enough free space in the HD to do that.
Can anyone help me fix this stupid screw up?
    Thanks in advance!!
    Dustin

    Welcome to the foruns Dustin!
    home/library/internet plug ins
That's where my Firefox Plug-ins are, my Safari ones are in...

  • Iphoto 9.4.3 plug-ins

In iPhoto 7.1.5 there were 51 plug-ins.  Where are the plug-ins located in iPhoto 9.4.3?

Depends on exactly what you're looking for. There are some within the iPhoto.app package and some at the Application Support folder in your home Library.

  • Does Mountain Lion (10.8.4) come with SharePoint plug-ins, or did I just install these?

I did a custom installation of Microsoft Office 2011 for Mac on my MacBook Air running 10.8.4., but I changed my mind and decided to uninstall it.
I only installed Word, Excel, and Proofing Tools (English only).
I'm reading up on how to fully remove all the tidbits Microsoft sprinkled about, and I noticed a couple files on my system:
    /Library/Internet Plug-Ins/SharePointBrowserPlugin.plugin
    /Library/Internet Plug-Ins/SharePointWebKitPlugin.webplugin
I didn't include SharePoint in the installation, so I'm not sure that's where these files came from. It's a new machine, so the only alternative is that they were included with OS X 10.8.4, in which case I'm inclined to leave them be.
Does anybody know more about these files, where they likely came from?

AFAIK OS X 10.8.4 does not come with SharePoint plug-ins. Those are from Microsoft and are most likely added by SilverLight.
I am running OS X 10.10.1 and Office 14.4.6 and I do not have SilverLight installed... I do not have those two plug-ins you mention. Thus I don't believe Office for the Mac 2011 loaded them.
    Hope that helps

  • Why did the most recent update set all my plug-ins to Ask to Activate and disable an Adobe one?

Firefox update and none of my plug-ins were working till I went and changed them from Ask to Activate to Always Activate. This Adobe Acrobat NPAPI Plug-in says it needs to be updated but when I try it does not update. It returns to the same need to update screen. There is a problem with your latest update.

I did try to update the plug-in. I would not. I fixed the problem by uninstalling the new firefox and downloading an older version and making sure it didn't install the maintenance program. This keeps it from updating. I even tried the 31 beta firefox and it set all plug-ins to ask to activate. Until you can fix this problem I will remain using the older version that works properly.

  • Where have all the plug-ins gone?

I re-installed InDesign CS3 after my hard drive was wiped clean with the re-installation of Windows XP, and I'm finding that some files won't open.  The error messages state that some plug-ins are missing and that the program and/or  the plug-ins should be updated.  I have run the update for InDesign, but this hasn't helped.  I don't know of any separate updates for plug-ins.  Any suggestions?

    1. Did you use any non-Adobe plugins in your previous installation? If you (or someone else) installed 3rd party plugins, you need to reinstall these as well. (I wouldn't know what "must have" 3rd party plugins there are -- the iTunes player for CS3? Tetris-in-a-panel?)
    2. Are you sure you are trying to open CS3 files? Trying to open a CS4 or CS5 file will give the same "helpful error message".

  • Where is the FC Studio plug ins folder?

    Hi,
Basic question here. I am trying to install a few new noise reduction filters in Final Cut since Compressor is quickly dying before my eyes!
Where in the world is the Final Cut Studio plug ins folder? It used to be Library - App Support - Final Cut Pro - Plug Ins, but in the new Final Cut Studio world, it is in a different spot.
Does anyone know where it is? Thanks!

    Quick tip:
Library/somewhere/somewhere else -is always the main Library directory at the top level of your hard drive.
˜/Library or, your name/Library is the directory specific to your user space.
