Where did my STB IP address go? Part 2

I have read the original post about the STB now having an IP but my situation is slightly different.
Both of my STBs lose their IP addresses on a daily basis. The solution I've had so far is to reset the modem and reboot the STBs. Problem is I shouldn't have to do that everyday.
I've talked to the live Verizon customer service agents and they tell me to reset the modem and reboot the STBs and since it starts working they feel their job is done. But they still lose their IP address. :-(
I have an Ultraline Series3 model 9100EM "modem" with 2 STBs: MA1108FHG014 and MA1108FUF069
Please HELP! I can't keep resetting this stuff everyday, it is very frustrating.

Sounds like potentially bad cable plant ... do you have any amplifiers or splitters in your cable infrastructure? If so, remove any amplifiers -- they are not compatible with FiOS -- and for splitters make sure each of a 5-1000mhz qualified splitter. Also, check and remove (remove splitter and disconnect) or place a terminator cap on any open coax outlets.
If that doesn't work, trying placing the modem and one of the STB's on the same outlet separated by a single splitter. Does the problem go away for this box? If so, this speaks to the cable plant issue above.
Lastly, do you have any other network devices in the house -- like another router or PC server -- which could be running a DHCP server? Perhaps which have a static IP address -- specifically one in the 192.168.1.100 to 120 range? Try turning any computing devices other than the router and STB's off and leave them off and see if the STB's retain their addresses. If so, one of the computing devices is feeding bad address information and you'll need to identify the culprit and disable the DHCP services on it.

I was cleaning up my Address book and the entire list disappeared. Where did it go? I can't find it.

Could be many things, we should start with this...
"Try Disk Utility

Then try a Safe Boot, (holding Shift key down at bootup), run Disk Utility in Applications>Utilities, then highlight your drive, click on Repair Permissions, reboot when it completes.
(Safe boot may stay on the gray radian for a long time, let it go, it's trying to repair the Hard Drive.)
If perchance you can't find your install Disc, at least try it from the Safe Boot part onward.

But it does somehow my English security answers do not work on a Japanese Question especialy if I did not choose that question I set up the multiple choice In English and wrote the answers in English or Roman and set them langauge preferences in English, do you really think you can correctly write english name or word in Japanese they write a police patrol car pato caa パトカア　they do not have r and l .So it is my choice to make my security easy for me and as difficult for others to hack.But they also have patororoo choo meaning ' now patrolling ' so why they have pato caa patrol car and patoro patrol and have thousands of Chinese words kanji they can find patrol.

try restarting with add-ons disabled from the help menu (Alt+H) does the cursor reappear?

If these were photos that were only in the Photostream folder of your Photos app, but not actually part of the Photostream itself, then the iCloud Photostream only holds the past 30 days of photos.
Use the iCloud Control Panel (if you're using Windows, download it here: iCloud for Windows - Apple Support), to see your actual iCloud Photostream.
Your device will hold the Photostream photos until they are removed, but you should never treat your device or the iCloud Photostream as permanent storage. You should be importing them to your computer on a regular basis for safe keeping.

Photostream is separate from iCloud backups. Were the photos part of the backup, or only part of Photostream?

i set up icloud last night between my mac, ipad and iphone. All notes i had on my ipad and my iphone since 2/23/12 are missing? I've looked in entourage, gmail, icloud--where did they go?

I was browsing and I saw your post. The way I got my contacts and addresses back was by going to SETTINGS on my iPhone, then to mail, then to my email account and truned all of the settings to ON. I then went to iCloud on my computer, signed in and turned all of the setting to ON. Next, I went to iCloud on my iPhone and turned all of those settings ON. My contacts and addresses reappeared. I had to experiment to get to this solution. The Apple instructions did not explain enough for me to conf
This worked for me, but then again, I tried so many different things, that I may have left something out on how I got iCloud reconfigured to work properly. Good Luck.

If you downloaded it from the ibookstre then it should be in the iBooks app - in iBooks you've got 'Books' selected via the Collection button at the top of the bookshelf ? And does the ibook show as 'downloaded' when you tap on the Store button at the top left of the iBooks app and then go into the Purchased tab at the bottom ?
Have you tried closing iBooks app completely and seeing if the book shows when you re-open the app : from the home screen (i.e. not with the iBooks app 'open' on-screen) double-click the home button to bring up the taskbar, then press and hold any of the apps on the taskbar for a couple of seconds or so until they start shaking, then press the '-' in the top left of the iBooks app to close it, and touch any part of the screen above the taskbar so as to stop the shaking and close the taskbar.
A third option if the two above don't work is a reset : press and hold both the sleep and home buttons for about 10 to 15 seconds (ignore the red slider), after which the Apple logo should appear - you won't lose any content, it's the iPad equivalent of a reboot.

I added an SSD to my 27" 2011 iMac. Although Sahidus is absolutely correct, it is much easier to add an SSD replacing the optical drive, it wasn't that bad to add it using an entirely seperate cable using SATA-III. To me it is worth the extra hassle to install a SATA-III SSD. This is where you are going to get maximum performance.
Although it appears complicated, if you go slow, the procedure to install an SSD drive isn't too bad. It takes at most 3 hours, as long as you are prepared and have all the parts and tools.

This describes how I did it. Now I get awesome data performance from my iMac!
I think the 21.5" may be more difficult to find where to place the SSD. But im sure it is possible. Just be creative.

I can't find ifconfig in the repositories, where did it go? Did it get replaced by some other package?
