Where did Photo Booth go?

My hard disk died and I had to have it replaced last month and have 10.4.11 reinstalled. Since then, Photo Booth is no where to be found on my Mac. I thought that it may have been integrated into iPhoto but I can't find it there. Any help? Thanks.

Nope! Not legally.
Try out the 3rd party versions:
FREE - DotMatrix - much better than Apple's PB. You may not want to use Apple's version after using this utility.
*FREE DEMO* - PhotoBooth 1.7.3
Can anyone mail/ship you the System Install DVDs? You really need them to troubleshoot.

  • Where is Photo Booth & how to get iSight to work in iChat

Just set up a new 2.4 iMac for my daughter yesterday (purchased new directly from Apple). Today she says she can't access Photo Booth, which she is familiar with from using my son's MBP. I did a Search (Command-F) for "photo Booth" but came up with nothing. I also doubled clicked on the iSight Updater which was on the hard drive in the Application / Utilities Folder. It told me it couldn't find iSight!
    Any ideas?

    Hello Fastdude
Based on your info, my idea is that someone has deleted it.
Finder finds Photo Booth on my Mac.
Reinstall if you want it back.

Stop clicking on the iSight Updater that is in your Application / Utilities Folder. It was apparently "migrated" there when you got a new Mac or installed Leopard. It is not needed after you have once installed it on an external Firewire iSight that was using a pre-Tiger version of Mac OS X.

  • Where is Photo Booth?

I can't find Photo Booth anywhere on my iMac. I have read other threads about this problem and have looked in "Apps" and used spotlight to try to find it, no luck.
I'll be grateful for any help.

HI and Welcome to Apple Discussions...
Is the PhotoBooth icon still in the Dock? If so, click the icon then click; Show in Finder That should take you right to the application. If Finder doesn't show the application, you can reinstall it.
Try reinstalling the application from your install disk.
Insert the Mac OS X Install Disc and double-click the package that installs bundled software or additional software. A package has an icon that looks like an opened box.
Follow the onscreen instructions. If you see a pane with a Customize button, click Customize and select the application you want to install. If you see a pane that lets you choose what to install, click the disclosure triangle beside Applications and select the application you want to install.
If you can’t find the application you’re looking for, you may need to reinstall Mac OS X. Your documents and user settings will remain.
Insert the Mac OS X Install Disc and double-click the Install Mac OS X icon. In the pane where you select the destination disk, select your current Mac OS X disk, and click Options. Select “Archive and Install” and “Preserve Users and Network Settings.”

  • Anyone know where the Photo booth "effects" movies are hidden?

Curious where the original "effects" clips (the fish, the rollercoaster, etc.) for the Photo booth app are hidden in Leopard...

I could not find a reference to the individual files, but it would seem to be a .qtz file inside the Photo Booth.app. You can right-click or control-click on the Photo Booth.app and choose "Show Package Contents". Inside the Photo Booth.app, there is a /Contents/Resources/ folder. This seems to be where some of the effects live.

  • Ipod folders.. where did photos go??

my nano has been doing some really weird stuff lately.
i wanted to switch out the photos on my ipod and i deleted the whole ipod photo folder on the disk and just synced it again with a different folder with pics in it. this was done on a windows xp at home.
good news: the new photos show up on my ipod.
bad news: i go to work and the pics won't display in the photos folder on my mac..
then i unplug it and find that every single song on there is gone. the photos and my personal settings are still there but nothing else, so i reset it on my windows machine.
after resetting it, i notice the photos are STILL there, however everything else is returned to the factory settings. and the photos still don't appear on my mac at work!!!
is there a way i can access these photos from my mac??

    Welcome to Apple Discussions!
To start off, the photos are not necessarily stored in the Photos folder. That folder is only used if you check the option to copy full resolution photos in iTunes.
Right now, I would say to restore your iPod (on your Windows machine)...
    Restore the iPod
Now update all of your music onto the iPod again from your computer. Now, also update the photos. Connect your iPod to the computer. When it appears in iTunes, go to edit-->preferences. Click the iPod tab, then the photos tab beneath it. Check "Syncronize Photos From..." and select where the photos are at.
Now, below that, Check "Copy Full Resolution Photos." Click OK.
The photos should copy and be accessible on the iPod from the photos menu, but also show up in the photos folder on your PC and Mac.
If you ever want to remove photos, just uncheck "Syncronize Photos From..." Photos will be removed. Don't just delete that folder.

PS: If you have a mac at work, why use a PC at home

  • Where did photos sync go in latest version of itunes

In the latest version of iTunes, I cannot find the photos tab anywhere while I am syncing.  What happened, and how to I choose photos?

What does your "devices" view look like, when you have your device connected?
The "Photos" button should still be there:

  • Where did photos appear from?

This may rate as the most stupid question ever, but i just got a new mac pro, and it currently includes no old hard drives from my g5 that died. anyway, i looked in the folder named -all documents -and there are dozens of photos of mine from the past. How on earth can my pictures be on this computer already?  might be a simple answer but i am mystified on this one?

    Hi-
Are there backup drives connected to a home network that includes a wireless router? Time Machine, maybe?
If so, the Mac Pro could have migrated the files wirelessly when you setup the machine the first time.

  • Photo booth freezes and closes

Every time i open photo booth it just freezes, it doesn't do nothing for 3-4 seconds. Then it force quits.
Is there any way to fix it? :/
The camera is responsive because it works with Skype and iChat.

Repair permissions & restart. If that does not work, then I suggest that you cross-post over in the iSight Forums where the Photo Booth users hang out.
Which OS version do you have? Your first post states 10.5.4 but, your second post shows 10.5.1!

  • Family Photo Booth Project

As a fun family activity for Christmas, I'm going to connect my MacBook to the TV and let everyone take turns sitting in front of the camera making funny faces and warping themselves in Photo Booth. With my family being PC people, it will be a big hit and really let me show off the awesomeness of a Mac. I'm going to set up some lights and use a green screen so the backdrops will play nice. I've also rigged a Griffin PowerMate to trigger the Photo Booth's shutter without the countdown and screen flash so the person can instantly snap a picture of any scene they like via pushing a big button.
I also will be connecting my MacBook to a Canon SELPHY personal photo printer using the printer drivers and will be allowing people to print their favorite shots throughout the evening. I thought this would make an easy and inexpensive keepsake of the evening. Here's my question...
I've created a 4x6 template in Photoshop that has some cool graphics placed around the masked-out area where the Photo Booth image will be (640x480) before it's printed. Since I may have a lot of participants, I would like to streamline this merging process if possible. I'd rather not have to load Photoshop and bog down my MacBook for such a simple task of joining two images together. Can anyone recommend a better solution for combining the Photo Booth picture with my 4x6 template to print out for everyone? If push comes to shove, I'll load Photoshop, but I can't help but think there's got to be a better way of doing this. Can Preview handle this for me?
Additionally, any hints or suggestions that anyone has of things I could do to enhance my group activity, I'd love to hear!

  • Where did my Photo Booth go??

I was using photo booth in combination with iMovie and tried to open photo booth from the dock and when I clicked on the application icon it did not bounce up and down like they normally do - a question mark appeared within the icon and it would not open. I removed the icon from the dock and then went into the applications folder to open it from there but photo booth is no longer in the applications folder. I cannot find it anywhere in the computer. How could it just disappear??
    Thanks, Kellie.

Perform a custom install from the Mac OS X 10.5 disk and install only that component if possible; if not, use Pacifist to install it. In either case, run the combo updater for your Mac OS X version afterward.

  • When I open iPhoto its asks me what photo library I want to use.  I already have a photo library that i've been using for 2 years, where did it go? and why am I being asked now to choose a library or "create new" what happened to all my photos?

We have no way of knowing what goes on on your machine. All we can tell is that your iPhoto library is missing and iPhoto can't find it. If you can't find then I the only thing you can do is restore from your Back Up.

Can someone tell me how to find my photos?I backed up my iPhone but Photostream was not on.pictures are not on my laptop so where did they go?

    Welcome to the Apple Community.
Backing up does not transfer your photos to your computer, if you don't want to enable photo stream, you will need to transfer your photos when your device is connected to your computer using iTunes.

  • Photos on 30 GB Video iPod - where did they go?

I had 1200 photos on my iPod - now I have 32. I connected my iPod to my new iMac - where did the rest of my photos disappear too? HELP!!! Originally they were on another PC not a Mac. My other PC died.
Could some one explain if I can retrieve them? Thanks. PS

Thanks for the input. I lost 1200 photos then I hope I put them on a disk somewhere. Otherwise, I am up the creek w/o a paddle. (sigh).
By the way, I LOVE my new iMac - so chic and cool! It is amazing!

Photobooth and iPhoto are two quite different apps with no connection between them. I'd try the Using Mac OS X forum for whatever version of the OS you have.
