Where did software updates go?

Earlier in the week there were a whole lot of software updates for the XFi Titanium Fatality for Win7. Now the are no longer listed. Any idea why creative took them off.

Try this Safari5.1 from the installer package
    http://www.filefactory.com/file/cc9005d/n/Safari.pkg.zip
The download worked better with Firefox not sure why. At the bottom of the page after the captcha>> slow down load is the Free link,  it took about 4 minutes to download on my test.

    Hi ..
    Reset the device:
Press and hold the Sleep/Wake button and the Home button together for at least ten seconds, until the Apple logo appears.
If that doesn't help, tap Settings > General > Reset > Reset All Settings
If that doesn't help, tap Settings > General > Reset > Reset Network Settings
You will have to re enter your Wi-Fi password.
No data is lsot due to a reset.
If nothing above has helped, try here >  iOS: Troubleshooting Wi-Fi networks and connections

You cannot update to iOS 5, it's no longer an available. You can only update to the latsest available iOS for your device. For the iPhone 4 that's iOS 6.0.1. The option you are looking for to update over-the-air requires iOS 5 or later. With iOS 4 you need to use iTunes on a Mac or PC to update the iOS. Follow the instructions on the Support Page you linked from.

  • Where are Software Updates stored in OS X Server 10.9?

I am trying to find out where the software update folder is in OS X Server, Mavericks and if it is safe to delete unwanted software updates to reduce the size of the cache when it is turned on.  This is for a school environemnt and any information or help in this regard would be greatly appreciated. [email protected]

IMHO, it's definitely not safe to delete random updates underneath Software Update Server.  SUS has had a history of flakies, and while I haven't seen any untoward behavior on Mavericks (yet?), I'd prefer to avoid encouraging intransigence.
Scrounge a bigger or external disk for the system or as an add-on, use the server settings (select the server in the left navigation in Server.app, select Settings, select a different location for Service Data) and if you're stuck on a budget then load and run Reposado on some bigger-capacity Linux box.
As for your question, look around with this command:
    ls -R /library/server/software\ update
But I wouldn't.  Disk hardware upgrades are cheap, and the fallout from potentially derailing software is expensive.

Did software update today and now IPhoto is not working.  Operating system is OS X Yosemite 10.10.3

What OS X version did you upgrade from? What iPhoto version did you have before upgrading? You cannot upgrade a version of iPhoto from a pre-10.10.2 OS X version installation. You needed iPhoto 9.6.1.

  • I did software update, now java in Safari doesn't work.

I ran software update, now Java in Safari and Firefox doesn't work. How do I fix it?

    I already tried that.
    I am running OS 10.6.8.
I did a "normal" software update (under the Apple icon).. didn't update the OS to a higher level, it's still 10.6.8. But now certain websites tell me that Java is missing or not working. When I go to the Java site, they say that you can only download the newest Java for OS 7 or higher... that Java is automatically part of OS 6 and should have automatically updated when I do a Mac software update.
Java used to work. Now that I've "updated" my Mac software, it doesn't work. And there's no way to download and install Java (according to them).
It's a never ending circle with no solution.

  • Where do Software Updates reside until they're installed?

A while back I enabled Software Update to "automatically download important software updates". So now the updates are of course downloaded and waiting for my OK to install them. I suspect though that many updates which I don't need or want are downloading and sitting somewhere pending installation. But I have no idea where these files are stored. I'd like to delete the stuff I'll never use (e.g., iMovie and RAW camera updates) as they are just taking up space. Anyone know where these things reside on the HD?
    Thanks for any help.

Thanks...this is interesting. I was in fact notified by Software Update. Upon opening it, it tells me I have updates available that have been downloaded and ready to be installed. I never noticed until just now, on checking again, that it actually says what's been downloaded. (I assume it notified me about the others and I just didn't notice.) I had about 6 notifications of updates available (as opposed to downloaded), and chose and installed the 2 I wanted, and excluded the other 4. When I look now, it tells me I have an iWeb update downloaded (I wish I knew how to include a screenshot in this post). It's not in the Downloads folder and a search in Spotlight and Finder does not reveal anything. It's gotta be somewhere, no? Also interesting is what Apple considers "important" updates

  • Where do Software Updates get saved to

When I run Software Update, I get confirmation of  download, then the option to install. If I deselect the 'Install' button and defer installing, where is the download stored please?
I ask because I'd like to be able to collect the set of updates and then install them to a number of machines using Apple Remote Desktop.
    Brian Bowell.

Stored in /Library/Updates/ Do note you have to rename them so you'll know what they refer to. Simpler is to just DL from http://support.apple.com/downloads/ which gives you uniquely install packages.

  • To where are Software Updater file downloaded?

I have a software package to update on two computers. The computers are the same and I need to update software on both computers. However, where I live we pay for each megabyte downloaded so I would like to update the first computer then copy the update file to the other. Where does the Software updater store the downloaded files so I can get the file after the first computer is updated?

Whew, took me an hour of searching Apple Downloads to +not find it+ via dial-up!
Then via Google through 4 other sites with clues & back to Apple for 4 more 5 minute steps at pages with links loading leads me to this...
    http://www.apple.com/finalcutexpress/index.html
The Resources link on that page leads e to...
    http://www.apple.com/finalcutstudio/download/
Where it doesn't mention "Express", but who knows since I don't have a Serial# to sign in with!
Back to *Software Update*, if you choose to "Download only" or possibly "Install & keep Package", the file should be at Library>Packages, but I'm not certain that some of Apple's SWUPDs allow even keeping the PKG.
PS. Even this AD BBS is the absolute slowest loading BBS on the whole internet!

  • Just did software update, now mail won't open!!

I just ran a software update and now may mail application won't open. These are the five updates that I installed:
    Backup 3.1.1
    iPhoto 6.0.6
    Airport Base Station 5.1
    iTunes 7.2
Mac OSX Update Combined (PowerPC) 10.4.10
I don't think I needed to install that last one, about the Power PC....Anyone know if that is enough to keep my Mail App. from openenig? I can still check my e-mail via .Mac, just not through my Mail Appliacation.

Did you download the correct Combo for PPC, since it
appears you do not have an Intel Mac?
If the correct Combo version, then I think you should
run Disk Repair from the original Tiger install disk
to check out your hard drive.
How much free disk space do you have on your hard
drive, or if partitioned, on the boot partition?
    Ernie
    Ernie,
thanks for the suggestions. I'm not quite the Mac expert I'd like to be, so bear with me please. How do I know if I downloaded "the correct Combo for PPC, since it appears you do not have an Intel Mac?" Wouldn't my computer automatically download the correct one? How can I check if it's the right one? ALSO,
How do I "run Disk Repair from the original Tiger install disk to check out your hard drive"? Do I need to insert the original startup disk again, or can I do it without it?
When doing info on my mac, it says I only have 6.1 GB left available. THANKS FOR YOUR HELP!!!!
    Wade

  • Just did software update now "must restore" with itunes but am being told it can't be restored

did a software update on my 5 now it says it needs to be restored but itunes says it can not be restored. "unable to continue withactivation" Does anyone have suggestion s?

In defense of original poster, I have had so many issues with hacking and bots, etc. - & I am certainly not jailbroken - that it has become ridiculous. There's tons of information out there about this growing problem.

  • Did software update [3134] break Airport?

Following the July 12 Software Update[3134] several Airport networks I manage broke. Here's short list of observations:
    Extended Wi-Fi networks failed.
Airport base stations viewed in Aiport Utility 6.3 appeared and disappeared from the network like blinking Christmas tree lights.
Wirelessly connected OS X, iOS and Windows 7 devices connected to the network and were similarly dropped as base stations appeared and disappeared from the network diagram
Ethernet connected devices seemed less affected
Our solution: Create a new Wi-Fi network name for all Airport base stations downstream of the AEBS router. Left the AEBS router's network name as is.
Can't explain why this fix worked. But it did and it still does.

Sorry, I don't know what is causing this, but I am having this issue as well. I repaired persmissions, then ran the update, and promptly had keychain issues, iSync issues, .MAC syncing issues, and failure to recognize my Airport Extreme base. All of this on a 3-day old MBP 2.33 dual core, 2mb ram, 120 gb HD.
Cripes, I purchase a new Apple and I have a headache in the first week and I have deadlines to meet. Looks like I'l have to work with my old G4 PowerBook until Apple's propeller heads fix the bugs.
