Where did the "Archive" mailbox come from and how do I ditch it

Converting a Mac from SL to Mav and something new popped up. In the list of mailboxes below trash is one labled Archive. What is it? Where did it come from and how do I ditch it? It is empty.

If you are using Gmail, it is the All Mail label that has always existed, but Snow Leopard didn't show it.
You can disable it in Gmail's settings under Labels. Set it to not show in IMAP.
Some people experience problems when doing that, though. I did not.
I set up my Gmail as shown in this blog post: http://jeffschuette.com/2012/03/07/setting-up-apple-mail-to-rock-and-roll-with-g mail/
I didn't want Gmail storing emails that I had deleted, so I used his setup to stop it, and I also hid the All Mail folder from Mail.

  • Where did this Spam folder come from and how to I "un-spam" emails?

    Hello
I have my email account setup on my iPhone via POP. There is no spam folder on my email server.
Yesterday I noticed hundreds of emails in a spam folder in the folder list on my iPhone. When I log into my webmail this folder is no there, therefore I am thinking the iPhone has created it.
Firstly, how do I stop it from doing this?
Secondly, emails in there are from people who have successfully emailed me in the past without getting filtered into spam so how do I un-spam emails?
Is this spam a new iOS4 feature?
Ultimately I can resetup my email as IMAP but that will delete all the emails in this folder and I don't want to do that (so I suppose I'm going to have to manually move them all right?)
    Many thanks for your help
    Ken

  • Where Did Skippidity (sp?) come from and how did it get there?

When I fired up Firefox this morning, I got a toolbar named Skipity (I think that's the spelling). I went into tools, found it, and removed it, but that isn't the point; I want to know where it came from and who authorized its installation. it popped up after the latest update and looks like it came from the download Youtube videos app I've had for a few months. It was nothing I would have installed, it just popped up on its own without asking permission.
I don't like most extra toolbars and would prefer a button that would pop up a toolbar when I wanted or needed it.
Is there another video download utility I can use that isn't so intrusive?
    Tom...

I have immediately removed the Download Youtube video extension. Hope that is the end of Skipity. Now I can restart with other add-ons like Ad-block.

  • Where did SearchGBY add-on come from and how can I remove it?

When I opened Firefox this morning, it opened my home page, which is Google. All was well until I searched for something and noticed a change. I thought it was Google at first, but then I noticed SearchGBY at the top of the page, and then noticed an icon in the lower right of the browser window. I did not download this add-on, it does not show up in the add-ons for Firefox, no in my program files. I cannot delete it and I would like it removed.

The Reset Firefox feature can fix many issues by restoring Firefox to its factory default state while saving your essential information.
Note: ''This will cause you to lose any Extensions, Open websites, and some Preferences.''
To Reset Firefox do the following:
#Go to Firefox > Help > Troubleshooting Information.
    #Click the "Reset Firefox" button.
#Firefox will close and reset. After Firefox is done, it will show a window with the information that is imported. Click Finish.
#Firefox will open with all factory defaults applied.
Further information can be found in the [[Reset Firefox – easily fix most problems]] article.

  • Where did second streaming photos come from and how do I get rid of it?

I used to take pictures and videos that later could've been found under photos app. Now there are two choices in the photo app. One I think says streaming. I cannot delete anything there and the are even pictures of my home page. It's useless to me, so how do I get rid of it and only have one place to view the pictures and videos taken?  Thanks!

If you what to keep your pics in the photo app, just turn off photo stream.
Settings - icloud - photo stream - off.

When my wife tries to update one of her apps a strange Apple ID pops up. Her Apple ID is correct in settings and in the apple store. What does this mean? Where did the other one come from?

There is something on your iPhone (a music file, iBook, document or video) that belongs to another Apple ID.  Only your wife would know how that file arrived there.  Your iPhone is asking for the correct Apple ID for all of the files that are resident on the iPhone.

  • Help with Muse form - random order on test and where did the case number come from?

    Hi
Fairly new to Muse but finding my way around. Created a simple form, added extra lines, changed labels and reordered etc to suit our needs. All looks fine in design stage. When I published and tested the form, the email submission I received has a different order for the form fields, so they are no longer logical and do not follow the order shown on the design stage. Any reason and/or any advice on how to fix this? The data needs to match an internal system for ease of use but Muse seems to have its own ideas about which order we should receive the field data from the submitted form!?
Also, there appears to be a randon 'case number' as part of the email submission. I have not created a field for this - where has it come from, and how do I get rid of it?
Many thanks in advance for time spent assisting

    Hi
Please share the site url and screenshot of form fields in design mode and received notification in email.
    Thanks,
    Sanjit

  • HT204266 Where did the security questions come from??

They were setup up when you created the Apple ID. If you don't remmeber them, you can go to appleid.apple.com and reset them there.

  • Where did the phantom volume come from?

I have an internal hard drive that is divided into two partitions, on one partition is OS 9 (Macintosh HD) the other is X–Tiger (Macintosh X). A new, grayed out, unmounted hard drive/volume (Named Macintosh HD) seems to have appeared out of nowhere. When I select it in Disk Utility, it says that it's an HFS volume and it's unmounted using about 128 mb of space. It's as if another partition (3rd) tagged onto the original two.
Where did it come from? Can I get rid of it?
    TIA
    Geoff

    Hi, Geoff -
It sounds like the HFS wrapper may have become sort of visible. There's a bit of info about the wrapper in this article -
    http://docs.info.apple.com/article.html?artnum=31056
Whether that indicates a problem, I don't know - but I would obtain and run Alsoft's DiskWarrior, which does have the ability to repair damage to an HFS wrapper.

  • Where Did the New Calendar Come From?

I just upgrade my MacBook Pro to Leopard. All calendars seemed to come over properly. But this AM, one day after the upgrade, I see a *new calendar* that I did not create, called "Library Loans." Does anybody know what the heck that is? It's not a "subscription." It's an item in the calendars list in the left-hand pane.
My inclination was simply to delete it, but then I thought -- what if it has events attached? What if it's evidence of a virus?
So those are my questions -- how do I see what events are in this calendar? And should I delete it if it's empty? Or somehow investigate further.
Thanks very much to anyone who can help.
    Steve Cohen

I think that the "Library Loans" calendar is automated from another program you have on your computer called "Delicious Library" for checking out DVD's Music, etc. At least that is what I found! You are not supposed to delete the calendar, but I did once before I knew what it was. Delicious automatically created a new calendar the next time something was checked out (the return dates are set and posted to the calendar when items are checked out).
    Hope that helps!

  • Where did the stupid voice come from??

I don't know what my child did, but now my computer tells me EVERYTHING I DOING! If my cursor hovers over, say iTunes, a stupid little voice pipes up telling me I'm hovering over iTunes. OMG, this is driving me nuts
(Later) Okay I don't what the boy did (we'll just refer to him as "GFL*") but there is something called "VoiceOver Utility" and this seems to be the cause of the idiotic voiceover. I pulled it out of the utilities and the voice is gone. HOWEVER, the computer still makes beeps whenever I do anything. Arrrgh.
Here's something else very weird. The Apple drop down menu now has a lot of extra options. There are 2 shutdown options as well as 2 LogOut Brian options. What's going on?
The only thing I can think of is maybe 10.5.5 is a recent download. (I haven't had my computer one in the last few days.) And, dumb sound effects and voiceovers are an improvement? If so, how do I turn the beeps off? And how did GFL manage to turn on the voice? There was VoiceOver OutputRequest Log ZIP file on the desktop. Did he download it somehow? He'd need a password for that and that is beyond his 5 year old madskillz.
Any and all help and advice greatly appreciated.
    Brian

Oh, you think Voiceover is annoying, do you????
    Try this.
Now, download it on a friend's Mac, hide it somewhere in an obscure place, then place it in their "Login Items." Nasty.

  • Where did the little "flashing pumpkin" on the bottom toolbar come from and how can I get rid of it?

On the bottom toolbar, right hand side, next to my incredimail icon, recently appeared a little "flashing pumpkin". I have not clicked on it because I don't know where it came from or why it is there and do not want to risk getting a virus. When you hover over it with the mouse, it says "Happy Halloween" in the dialog box that appears above it. If you right click on it, the only options are "Open Message" or "Leave it"?

  • How do I fix syncing issues between my iTouch and iTunes? My iTouch shows I have two copies of one song but on iTunes it shows I have one copy. I only purchased one copy too so where did the second copy come from?

Yesterday I purchased a few albums and CDs from iTunes to my iTouch. After charging my iTouch, I noticed some of the songs weren't there. So I checked my iTunes and they were still downloading so I synced them up to each other. For the 1st hour, there was only one copy of the song. Later on, when I hooked up my iTouch to see if my info corresponded to iTunes, I saw that there was additional copies of the same song on a few albums and some copies of individual songs. I didn't purchase them twice either. Now I have two copies on my iTouch but not my iTunes so I can't delete the additional copy.

Right now, I tried deleting all of the music and resyncing it from my iTunes directly to my iTouch. Hopefully this will solve the problem.
