Where did the "sleep" button go?

I turned my iPod the other day and noticed that the menu had changed and I can no longer send my iPod to sleep when I am done listening to music. The option has vanished. I tried updating the software, resetting the iPod, with no better luck. Any thoughts?

If you go to SETTINGS > MAIN MENU and set the SLEEP to ON, it will come back.

The iTunes app cannot disappear ... it may be on a different screen.
Regardless, you can force it to your home screen by doing:
Settings > General > Reset > Reset Home Screen Layout

Just installed upgrade to Firefox 4.0. Where did the "Stop" button go on the Navigation Bar. I checked the Customize dialogue box and it isn't included. Is anyone else missing it? It was a very helpful button and allowed us users to stop a web page and move on if it wasn't what we needed.

In Firefox 4 by default the Stop, Go and Reload buttons are combined and attached to the right hand edge of the location bar.
When you are typing in the location bar it will show the Go button. When a site is loading it shows the Stop button. At other times it shows the Reload button.
If you want separate buttons, right-click on a toolbar and choose Customize, you can then drag and drop the stop or reload buttons and place them elsewhere. If you place them in the order "Reload-Stop" on the right hand edge of the location bar they will be combined again. Where is the sleep button on the first version of the ipad

ok I seriously need help first edition ipad screen locked told to use sleep button but cannot find this as all I am seeing is my home screen where to unlock I have pressed the start button on the side held for ten secs and nothing please please help me I have no clue what the heck to do.

The sleep/wake or on/off button is in the same location on all iPad modell - top right.

If so, press and hold the home button and the sleep/wake or on/off button simultaneously until you see the Apple logo and then release. This is similar to a computer restart.

I restored everything I had on my old 3gs mobile and, after I did that, the microphone button disappeared. I upgraded the software but still... it's not there. What can I do to have it back?

That means you have moved to FCP X 10.1.1.
It uses the new Library model and the Projects button is gone along with the Projects folder.
Search this forum for how to update from older versions.
Done the correct way it's trouble free whereas the incorrect way leads to headaches.

Where did the sleep timer go in IOS 5? It's been changed to "stop playing"

When previously using the sleep timer, I would set a time and then choose for the device to "sleep" at the end of the time. Now the choice has been changed to "Stop Playing." This is a huge problem because it does not sleep the device; it only stops the music from playing. Because the music app continues to run, battery life is profoundly shortened. I verified this at the Genius Bar when I noticed my battery life dropped from several hours per charge to about 1.5 hours. Can a sleep timer be used in some other manner now?

I know this seems like a bit of a silly question, BUT:
I frequently fall asleep listening to my iPod. I've had 3 other iPods (1st and 2nd gen) which had sleep timers built in as a function on the menu. I could hook the ipod up to speakers in my bedroom, set the sleep timer, and drift off to music or books. With my new 5th gen iPod, however, I cannot find a sleep timer function anywhere. I purchased an iHome, so I can use the sleep timer function at home, but when I travel I either cannot use the iPod in this way, or have to leave the iPod running (and playing) all night long, which then actually wakes me up from sleep later in the night. Can anyone tell me if there is a sleep timer function on the 5th gen iPods, and if so, how do I activate it?

Okay, DUH, I answered my own question. It was under the 'clock' function; I never bothered to set the clock as I was used to having the battery drain problem that occurred when the clock was set on the 1st and 2nd generation iPods. Now I know!

Where did the AirPlay button in the video app go in iOS 8?

I Used the quick AirPlay button in the video app quite often. I just upgraded to iOS 8. I noticed that it is gone. Am I missing it anywhere? Why would this be removed?

No don't bother restarting anything, like me I know my hardware is working fine but it was something to to with the iOS 8 update.
I fixed my iPhone 5 by going to Settings > General > Reset > Reset Network Settings. I will warn you now that as far as I know it will wipe every stored WiFi network you've ever connected to so you will have to enter them in all again but that doesn't bother me.
I'm sure the good people at Apple are already working on a fix so you could always wait.

I can update my apps from the iPhone, but not from iTunes.
What happened?? This used to be SO easy, and now, I just can't find an update button on the appstore on iTunes for my apps. Is this a new "feature" for iTunes 10??
Incidentally, how the heck does one get in touch with Apple's technical support? There is a email-contact button for this, but it only leads to this forum or some other static pages - Very misleading, innit? Very frustrating too..

This forum is for questions about the Mac App Store, which while similar in concept is for Mac OS X apps and does not use iTunes. I'd suggest you ask for assistance in the Using iTunes Store with iTunes for Mac forum. You'll be more likely to get useful advice there.

Apple technical support is via phone only; there is no email support. If, however, you want to contact the iTunes Store customer service department, you can contact them using the form on their Support page (select the category and subcategory closest to the issue you're reporting and you'll find either an "Express Lane" button - just follow the instructions to get to the contact form - or an "Email Us" button).

It used to be (firefox 3.xx) that I could click a little arrow and choose to go back in my recent browsing history as many pages as I had viewed on the current tab. Now (firefox 4) I have to click back one at a time. How do I get the little listbox to come back up?

I solved the problem. Now it is a right-click which triggers the appropriate response.

It probably got too cold and shut down. Warm it to room temperature, then hold the HOME and SLEEP buttons at the same time until an Apple logo appears.

HT1430 My I Pad is locked up. I got a message to update my I pad, so I did and everything froze up. I tried holding the sleep button as it says but a slider does not come up to shut it down. The apple symbol just flashes on and off. Any suggestions?

What can I do to unlock my I pad? When I did an apple update it just froze up. As stated above I held down the sleep button and waited for the red slider to tell me to shut it off but the apple symbol just kept blinking at me.
I just bought my I pad in August so it is still under warrenty.

Thanks for the suggestion but I tried that and nothing happened. There is a line going horizontal on the screen with a lock looking thing at the end of the line then there is an arrow that leads up to the I Tunes word and symbol.
I plugged the i pad in and will try what you said again after the battery increases in case the battery was very low.
Do you have any other suggestions?

Adobe removed the forms message bar, which is where the field highlighting toggle button was. It turns out that the following user preference works as a toggle as well despite the confusing description:
Edit > Preferences > Forms > Highlight Color > Show border hover color for fields
You can also toggle it with the following JavaScript:
app.runtimeHighlight = !app.runtimeHighlight;
You can add this to a custom menu item or toolbar button to provide an easier means to toggle it.

Where did the Stream 7 drivers go?

The support page for downloading drivers for the HP Stream 7 tablet (any model) has disappeared from the HP website.
Navigating to the HP Stream 7 support page, Selecting "Software and Drivers", then "Go directly to software and drivers page", Operating System "Windows", then Version "Windows 8.1" (the only choices), then clicking the Update button, gives a message "No software or drivers are available for this product with the selected operating system. Please make a different selection, or visit the product homepage. " This happens using Firefox, IE 11, or Chrome.
These drivers have been missing for at least a few weeks, and multiple forum users have also had no luck finding them. Before that time the drivers seemed to come and go randomly, but they've stayed missing now for weeks. One dorum user has posted direct FTP links to the drivers, and they might be the latest version, but not really sure.

My iPhone 4 will not power on. i tried to reset, i tried to hold the sleep button. nothing is working.

I did everything, restarted my computer, held the sleep button, held the sleep and hom button togeather, held the home button while plugging into itunes. itunes does not pick up on the iphone and it is stil black. i was making a phone call after it charged all night when it shut off. please help.
