Where did you put my bookmarks - I used to have a button for them
I used to have a little bookmark button on the top of the page and now it's gone. I have work to do and don't have time to figure out all the new stuff right now.
How do I get my nice, organized button back?
I think there are two or three bookmark buttons.
The one I think you mean is the the same as the keyboard shortcut to show the '''bookmarks in the sidebar''' ("Ctrl+B"), but it could be the button to replace the loss of the menu bar which is a drop down replacement. Or you could just put things back to normal...

He said do not mess with that ! then I got a text from somewhere to reset 4 pins suddenly it was very strange I said to him that I got this pin this morning but it said you can use maximum 3 hours it had a UK number and I told him I do not like this and will not enter the code he said do not do it if it is from the UK and then I said to him ok you did a lot to help but we can not go any further ! and we cut of I went back to my computer to re do the ID but I found everything a mess so I call and a stupid sounding Japanese women with a squeaky voice came on I was calm at first and they want your phone number your IMEI number your iPhone serial number date of birth Address email address it takes 10 munutes to check then they ask what are you caling about so I try to explain my keychain is broken or problems with language security questions and can not change my pasword because the security question have failed me so it is ONE BIG HEADACHE AND I START I GET STRESSED she says Do want an ENGLISH speaker ,I say yes ,that guy i talked to earlier but I never got his name and first time I ever talked to him but they said he is not here so I said ok and then she said today is sunday so call back in the morning ,I said ,well ok in Japanese but they make you feel stupid because they do not want to speak Jap@anese with none natives and they are to busy,And they feel that I should not bother them ,then I say that Apple Japan is trying to refuse Apple foreign customers and then she wants to hang up and ask me to visit the shop ,but they are the same I have a very bad time with Apple Japan since they do not discuss software problems or security with customer meaning if you have a problem they ask you to come on a time 20 minutes max so they do hardware test and say you phone is fine then I say no I can not reset my ID they say you must call call centre so I am going around in circles ,When I call English it is usually Australia so if my problem is in Japan surely if do not want me to talk to them in Japanese and they ask me to call Australia but every time my call charge is expensive after asking them is this free because I have Apple care they say yes but when the call goes to Australia 0120 277 535 it might change to paid call so I call then I have to ask is this charging they say we can not give you that information ! so what can I do I have have been at the computer and phone all day on my day off work and in tre week I am so busy and can not use my phone I can not work without it ,this new technology for you ,they can not cope with the fact that the customer have problems yet they do not want to deal with us because they can not solve it and so it shows them to be useless they like to walk around in their cool tee shirts and retro shop but when it comes to functionality we are unwelcome they got the money so do not return because apple is perfect that nothing should go wrong .

INSTALLATION:
If there are previous versions of CSX, be sure to remove them at
this time. Failure to do so may result in 'Copy' errors during installation.
Unzip the CSX zip file into a temporary directory. It's location is
unimportant EXCEPT DO NOT unzip it anywhere your Photoshop application tree.
Run the InstallCSX script in the top-level directory. You can do this by:
1) double clicking it
2) dragging it onto a PS application
3) running it from inside PS via File->Scripts->Browse
If your OS is Vista, you will probably need to start Photoshop using
'Run as administrator' because the installation script needs to install
CSX into Photoshop folders that are normally protected.
If you have more than one installation of Photoshop on your computer, you'll
need to run the installation script for each copy of Photoshop.

Where Did You Get Your MacBook?
For those that have a MacBook, where did you purchase it from? Even with the student discount, purchasing from the Apple store doesn't provide any savings because of the taxes (~$84.00 in NY). I know Amazon.com sells it, but it's pre-order.

Mac OS X (10.4.6)No need to get defensive. I wasn't saying that people shouldn't use the Apple Store. I was saying that unless Apple recognises your problems as problems, they will not do anything for you. That is to say, issues such as heat, whine and other common issues people worry about here on this forum will not be addressed by the Apple Store geniuses because they don't consider these problems out of specifications. This also means that if you have these issues and decide you can't live with them,you most probably will not be able to return a macbook of MBP to them without a restocking fee.
Believe me, I was amazed that they were so unwilling to consider not charging me a restocking fee. I was very calm, told them about the issues (whine, heat, loose battery, warped lid) and told them that over the past 15 years as an Apple user I have never felt disappointed with an Apple product except for this one. I told them that I have purchased items for tens of thousands of dollars from Apple over the years and asked them if they would at least consider charging me just half the restocking fee given that these are problems SO MANY people are having. There are OBVIOUSLY issues with the MBPs. The guy (who claimed to be the 'lead' rep there) refused and told me, in the same breath, how much they 'love' my business, pointing me in the direction of the checkout so I could line up to get refund, minus the $200 fee for beta testing. How insulting and disingenuous is that!
There are stores that will accept your claim that an item is defective. Since Apple is the mothership they decide what is within spec while some other stores just trust you when you say your notebook has excessive heat problems or whines and therefore needs to be returned. Given the many problems reported, I would recommend anybody to buy from a store with a more generous and no hassle return policy. Getting an exchange will not help if all units have the same problems....

If I'm reading a book on the iPhone and I want to pick up where I left off on my iPad, do I have to search for what page I was on on the iPad or is there a way to sync it? Or do I just have to search for a string of text from my iPhone on my iPad?
On both devices go to Settings>iBooks>Sync Bookmarks>On. Then when you want to quit reading on one device, tap the bookmark in the upper right corner and it will turn red. That marks your place. Close the book on the device now by tapping on the Library button in the upper left corner of the app. That will put the closed book back on the shelf. Tap the home button.
On the other device, when you tap on the book, it should open to that page. You have to be connected to WiFi in order for this to work. You can read this older discussion for more information. I was involved in that as well.

Same problem here... First i had to update my firefox to the shittest new version which i hate... The more firefox desktop updates the worse it gets. I'm still using firefox 28 cause its the best version ever...
Anyways so i updated my fiefox to latest 32 something version and installed firefox beta on android. It syncs everything except passwords. And no, i do not use the master password its always disabled!
Can somebody tell me how to sync the passwords from firefox desktop to android on latest version and perhaps maybe on firefox 28 to if thats still possible?
I can only say that syncing doesn't work for me on the latest firefox 32 and android beta firefox! -

As I said: I don't understand the thing you call LIVE BOOKMARKS I have never used them, and most forums I have used notify VIA E-mail not giving out my E-mail address, or other private information when a reply has been made to the thread in question, so how do I get notified of updates in this forum? Where do I put pdfs on Samsung Galaxy SII so I can view them using the Adobe Reader App?
I have PDF files on my PC that I'd like to view on my phone. I downloaded the Adobe Reader expecting a folder to appear that I could copy these PDFs to. Rather like with Kindle. It didn't. Where do I put the files so I can display them using the Adobe Reader App? Of course when I open the app at the moment, I get 'no files available', obviously, I don't know where to put them. I'm probably missing something very simple but your help would be appreciated. Thanks.
I solved the problem. I manually created my own Adobe PDF folder by connecting the phone via usb to my PC, Windows Autoplay gave me the option to 'Open device to view files'. Explorer then displayed all the folders on the phone. I created an Adobe PDF folder manually and copied the PDFs I wanted to view into that folder. Adobe Reader then found the files without a problem. I clearly was missing something quite simple but something I'm sure a lot of people would miss. Perhaps if the next version of Adobe Reader for Android created this folder automatically, like Kindle and Kobo and other readers do, it might save a lot of people a bit of a headache.

Where did DW put the site definitions?
Hi all. Just started with DW in CS 5.5, and I'm perplexed as to where it put the definitions for two sites I created. The directories that correspond to the two sites reside on an external drive. I took the drive and plugged it into another machine, launched Dreamweaver, and tried to open the sites there. Nope. I would expect the definitions to have been stored in the corresponding directories, along with the source files for the site (to accommodate this very scenario).
Where are they? Can I move them to the source directories on the external drive and access them on multiple machines without a hassle? If not, DW is out.

Where are the .ste files though? I'd rather not have to continually synchronize files between machines by importing and exporting. Why not just store the site definitions with the site contents?
There are NO *.ste files until you export them. Then they go where you selected as the destination for them. Once you have defined a site and exported the definition, there would be no need to ever export again unless you changed something in the definition.
You'd have to ask your other question of the DW Dev team. -

Hey i just upgraded my macbook from 2gb of ram to 4gb and the hard drive from 160gb (5400rpm) to 500gb(7200rpm) and reinstalled with a time machine backup. no problems occured but now there is a file named private in my (uhh whats it called?? the spring up thingy that is on my dock that has the name of my HDD and when selected it shows things like users, system, ect) dont yah just love my way of explaining things? the file contains folders named etc, tftpboot, tmp, and var. what are these? are they safe to delete or even move because when i try to move it it asks for my password, ill gladly give it but im nervous ill screw something up. Help please!
If you want to recover the space, you can disable the sleep with image function by downloading and installing a System Preference called Smart Sleep, which allows you to change the way the MacBook sleeps. By default the state of ram is stored when you put the MacBook to sleep so that when it reawakens your back to where you were when it went to sleep, with all windows opened to where they were and all applications or documents you were working on are where they were. By disabling this, your MacBook will not save this state of ram, therefore any unsaved changes will be lost. The upside is if you need the space, you will save 4gb or however much ram you have as space on your hard drive. It basically allows you to awaken the computer and be right back where you left it when it went to sleep. Some people like it so if they have multiple batteries and one goes down due to lack of an outlet it allows them to change the battery and continue on. Me personally I have it disabled as I save everything before allowing the computer to sleep. To each his own I guess.Anyway hope this helps

Help!! What's going wrong here. I used to have iTunes installed on this computer but lost it when it crashed. I've tried re-installing it numerous times but I keep getting the same error message. "Error writing to file: C:\ProgramFiles\iTunes.Resources\es.lproj\iPadLicense.rtf. Verify that you have access to that directory." I know I have access to that directory because on a different computer I can sync my iPad and iPhone. What am I doing wrong? What do I need to go in and authorize or turn on? Any help greatly appreciated. Thank you.
That one's consistent with disk/file damage. The first thing I'd try with that is running a disk check (chkdsk) over your C drive.

Windows 7 instructions in the following document: How to use CHKDSK (Check Disk)
Select both Automatically fix file system errors and Scan for and attempt recovery of bad sectors, or use chkdsk /r (depending on which way you decide to go about doing this). You'll almost certainly have to schedule the chkdsk to run on startup. The scan should take quite a while ... if it quits after a few minutes or seconds, something's interfering with the scan.
Does the chkdsk find/repair any damage? If so, can you get an install to go through properly afterwards? -

Have you ever called Intune support? I have - several times. The call is answered within a few minutes and the calls are handled quickly and efficiently. Not bad for 3 staff - I'd hire them.

How do you lose a pre-order when I have a receipt for the transaction?!?!?
I have a receipt for 9/15 in the store for an iphone 6 pre-order. Now yesterday when I call to check my status no one has any record of this transaction. The only explanation I'm getting is it was a system glitch and I have to order again. I waited a month already!?!? Can someone at Verizon not find a solution to this and get me a phone even if I'm upgraded to one better. This is either Apple or Verizon's system failures not mine.
The store never shows it existed. Theie only solution was to re-order, or yesterday they had a 128GB. All they would do was waive the $30 upgrade/activation fee. They would not negotiate or give me the 128GB in place of my 64GB. I placed a new order yesterday still unsatisfied with the result, mainly because I refuse to delay a successful order any longer.
I spoke with support last night after I was still mad about the whole situation. My order confirmation number, which they finally ended up finding in a seperate system shows under a different account. They "supposedly" verified with fraud that it wasn't fraudulently altered. Apparently once they are submitted they can't be changed? She ended up calling the store manager who seemed more interested in refunding fraudulent charges than finding out the process, IT system problems that happened. I visited the store today after the rep spoke with him last night. He still downplayed the issue but did offer to put me on an esclation list and work with me on the price. Surprisingly the 128GB phone isn't there today. This is obviously an validation problem between Apple and Verizon. The store manager says that the confirmation number is Apple generated when the submission takes place. I am in the process of contacting Apple too to assist in resolving this so I have a phone ASAP, not another 2 weeks.
