Where do Applets gets download in Linux

Hey All,
Iam facing a problem. I hv developed a swing application n I'm invoking it using Netscape 6 browser under RedHAT linux 7 OS. The thing is whenever i change the code the modifications are not getting updated to the Swing applicaiton.
I'm using Jboss as my app server and i deleted the files under /tmp folder also. Still the change is not getting updated. If i restart my system sometimes the changes are updated.
Kindly let me know where the applet Code gets downloaded in linux OS. So that i can clear them n use it.
Thanks in Advance
Srini

Hi,
You should use appletviewer instead of netscape!!
But if thats not an option I think you should look for a directory .netscape, its in your home directory
What might help too, is turn off the cache of netscape

  • Where can I get/download th 4.01 update?

I have been using Final Cut Express 4, which was updated to 4.01. But I had computer issues, and it started to not open. So I reinstall 4.0 from my CD, but now I need the 4.01 update to open my files. Please let me know where I can get it. Upgrading to Final Cut Pro X is not an option as it will not run on my computer.

Check Software Update again, to see if there are any Pro App or Pro Kit updates for your Mac.  If so, install them; they usually contain updates to FCE.  Then run Software Update again to see if it makes the FCE 4.0.1 update available.  Sometimes there are dependencies that require you to install other updates first (like the Pro App/ProKit updates).
Also, have you run FCE now that you re-installed it ... to check what version you already have?  When you start FCE, the splash screen tells you what version it is.  You can also do Final Cut Express > About Final Cut Express to check the version.
Also, unless you are working with AVCHD video you don't really need the 4.0.1 update - it added certain AVCHD easy setups to FCE.  Details on the update are in the Final Cut Express 4/4.0.1 Release Notes.

  • Where can I get Red Hat Linux AS for Installing 10G

    Hi,
I am trying to install Oracle 10G on RedHat Linux 8.0 and the installer is existing with error message(Requires Redhat 2.1 or 3). Is RedHat 2.1 is free downloadable and could some one point the URL where I can download.

I guess business economics and supportability has made Oracle to release products only on (a few) "enterprise class" distributions of linux. RHEL 2.1 & 3 has a subscription fee for support (one of Oracles requirements?), so it's not free downloadable (RHEL 3 is downloadable within RHN but not free).
Maybe they should look to their Unbreakable Linux campaign and release developer versions of the operating systems. With both products and os released under developer licenses, maybe they'll get support from individuals and smaller companies...

  • Where do you get your GNU/Linux news?

Hi guys. Just a quick question/discussion. Did a search, but it came up with no good results.
Where do you guys get your daily fix for Linux news, for everything new and exciting in the Linux world?
I'm still fairly new to Linux. First used it back around Ubuntu 8.10, but then switched back to Windows within a few weeks. Then got back into it around the beginning of this year with 10.04. Before eventually moving to Sabayon for quite a fair bit of time then just recently trying out Arch, and loving it.
As an Ubuntu user originally, I like to check out the articles on OMGUbuntu for news and info on new applications, or changes, being developed and also DistroWatch for news on new distributions or updates. I also like to read the occasional Linux article on Gizmodo or Lifehacker that they sometimes feature.
Anyway, where do you like to get your news?

By and large, I get online news by subscribing to RSS feeds (--I use Google Reader to aggregate them, but there are other options too--), not through normal web pages. If it weren't for RSS, there's no way I'd have time to visit all the webpages I'd want to visit every day. Indeed, I mainly become aware of new posts in these forums through its RSS feed.
Anyway, here are some broadly linux-related RSS feeds I subscribe to. Most of them have associated webpages too. (Thank goodness I can just export a list from Google Reader or I'd never remember them all...)

  • Latest version of Mozilla not supported by online college website. Where can I get downloads for older versions of Mozilla that are supported. Specifically, 3.o to be compatible with Blackboard CE8.3?

I go to Greenville Technical College in Greenville SC where I take online courses. The school utilizes a program called Blackboard which runs something called Campus Edition 8 service pack 3 (CE8.3). This fall I logged in after taking the summer off to discover that my Mozilla 5 is not compatible with their system. The Blackboard support pages indicate that the CE8.3 is compatible with Mozilla 3.o. My problem is that I cannot find that version to download for a reinstall of the browser. Can you help me? School starts Monday!

  • Where/How to get download for Photoshop CS5 (not Extended)

I am setting up a new computer (Mac) and am not transferring data from old computer (clean install).  I own Photoshop CS5 (not the Extended), and need to re-download that version (I had upgraded via Adobe website).  The only version I see offered is the Extended, which I do not need or want.
How can I find the download I need?  I have all the serial numbers going back to Photoshop 2.
This always fills me with dread, with these applications- most unfriendly.
    Thanks

    Thank you both.
My account (Your Adobe Product and Online Service Registrations) shows the purchase of Photoshhop 12 (which I assume is CS5).  However, the other section which shows purchases is missing this one and several others, whioch were supposedly corrected the last time I went thru this.
I don't see where to figure out whether CS 5 or CS 5.1.  I had upgraded when the CS5 came out, and have updated it as updates are available.  I guess I can download whatever is available and see if my activation codes work; if not, I guess I can uninstall and talk to Adobe next week.
    Thanks!

  • Where is the application downloaded

    Hello,
I have tried out the demo's for web start.
As I understand it, the applet is downloaded onto my computer before it is opened in the web browser. But I can't seem to find where the applet was downloaded. How does it know where to put the files? I thought it would first ask me whether and where on my computer I wanted to download it. So, how do I find where these classes are on my computer?
    Thanks
    Ivan

if you are using linux machine
then there would be a ".javaws" directory created in your home dir or the place where you installed jws. the down loaded files are kept in the cache dir under the .javaws dir.
if you are running on some other platform there would be something similar. you can start the javaws form command line go file/preference open the preference .. there you will see a tab named as 'advanced' on that tab you can see the dir location for - Application folder.

  • Where can I get the TIME dimension example files?

Where can I get / download the following files for creating this time dimension?
They are only in OWB R1.
    [OWB Home]\owb\misc\time\readme.txt
    [OWB Home]\owb\misc\time\owb_bp_time.mdl
    and
    [OWB Home]\owb\misc\time\owb_time_seq.sql
    [OWB Home]\owb\misc\time\owb_time.sql
    Thanks for help.

    Hi,
Not sure if this answers the question, but in 10.2 you don't need these files any longer. Simply create the time dimension and it will load data for you (it acts as a data generator).

  • Where can I get Oracle 8i 8.1.5 for Linux (RH 6.0) On CD?

I'm stuck in a 28.8 baud neighborhood. Most of my connections

Cable Modem support (Not available), not DSL (maybe by Q1 2999),

    On the oracle store (oraclestore.oracle.com->database->media)
you can order a trial copy for $40 ($39.95). Allow me to ask you
where do you live? I wouldn't like to move into your
    neighbourhood.

'Remote' app requirements are stated as "software version 3.1.3 or later". I am running 4.2.1 and when I try to download it says 4.3 required.
OK, I understand that new versions make use of facilities that come with new versions of IOS, but there is/was a version that runs on 3.1.3 and therefore, I assume 4.2.1. Where can I get the (old) version that runs on my IOS?
The app store seems to ignore all legacy equipment owners, and want me to spend loadsa money to get the latest shiny toy. It probably makes business sense, but I dislike companies that take that approach. This is my first venture into smart phones, and I like the IOS interface, but I'm not sure I can afford the maintenance.

This is standard for Apple.  While there is little official mention of the software support lifespan for equipment, typical support has been about 4-5 years for computers.  It strikes me that newer items, especially mobile devices, are not built as sturdily nor do they have the hardware upgrade capabilities required to keep up with newer systems.  When we bought an iPhone 4S we were told by the person in the store we'd probably be looking at a newer model in two years.  The iPhone 3G could be anywhere from 2 to 4 years old, putting it well into.
As for app availability, Apple typically pulls old software versions from its site when new versions appear.  If it is a non-Apple app then I guess it is up to the vendor. It is indeed tiresome but it is not at all unusual.  Since I only ever run used Macs, I download current versions even though my computer won't run them, stick them on a hard drive, then I have them when I upgrade to a newer used computer.  If you run older equipment you have to learn a different mode of operation to exist with the Apple 'new and innovative' but 'forget about the old' philosophy.
