Where do downloads go (what files what is it called?)

I did not realise that by clicking an item it dwnlded to me a file. I did not want that. I assumed it was zipped. I want to remove it, where does firefox put it. I can see dwnload managers prompt that it downloaded. I closed it (darn) how do I find it again and remove it? It was in Private mode when I was on line so there is no history., but in general where do files go?

As long as you registered your products, you can follow the following to get the S/Ns: http://helpx.adobe.com/x-productkb/global/find-serial-number.html#adobeproductdownload. The logging into your account at adobe.com with your adobe ID should provide you a list of all the products and S/Ns that you have registered. Depending on the products, the downloads may or may not be available any longer. You indicated you had a backup and I hope you meant of the install files that you previously downloaded. You should always keep backups of downloaded software you have purchased.

After using the Firefox Reset feature, a folder named Old Firefox Data should appear on your desktop. This folder should contain all your old extensions. However, there is a gotcha: many of them are filed under alphanumeric identifiers rather than readable names. Still, it's worth a quick look.
Actually, here's a thought: if you drag a .xpi file from the Old Firefox Data\extensions folder and drop it on an open Firefox tab, you should get the install dialog which, presumably, will tell you the extension's name. In theory you could try one after another until you find the one you want. Please note that installing an extension from disk rather than the Add-ons site may make it impossible for Firefox to find updates, so it would be better to figure out the name and get it from the source if you can.

So, to clear things up, there is no org.apache.xml.serialize.OutputFormat.JAR
OutputFormat is a class.
As I said in my previous post if you go at the xerces project home page (here) you will find a compiled version of xerces [here - direct link -> (fool proof)|http://archive.apache.org/dist/xml/xerces-j/Xerces-J-bin.1.4.4.zip]. If you extract the archive you will find a compiled jar called xerces.jar. Open that one with winrar/winzip or whatever, browse to org\apache\xml\serialize\OutputFormat.class and there you go, you have it, just link this xerces library to your project...

Where to download individual library files?

Recently, I installed the UT99 dedicated server package on my Arch system. Everything went smoothly up until the point of actually launching the server. Seems the server needed a couple of library files that aren't on my system. The missing files were libX11.so.6 and libXext.so.6; a web search confirmed these are X11 files, and I don't use X on my system (headless file server & local game server).
My solution was to fire up Knoppix, mount my hard drive, and copy Knoppix's libX11 and libXext files into the proper location. That solved my problem, and everything's fine with UT.
I just wanted to know if this was a silly way to obtain the two files? I searched for a download on google to no avail. Is there some central source for these types of files that I can use in the future if a similar problem crops up?

I had a small feeling it's about Unreal Tournament, but I've never seen 99, only UT2004. Oh, 99 is the version before 2004... never thought of that.. although on the computer I'm on right now, not even UT99 works.

Well, I wasn't aware you didn't have any kind of X installed (xorg/Xfree). I did a brief check before and indeed they belong to xorg (my system).
# locate libX11.so.6
/usr/X11R6/lib/libX11.so.6

# pacman -Qo /usr/X11R6/lib/libX11.so.6
/usr/X11R6/lib/libX11.so.6 is owned by xorg 11R6.8.0-3

About your question about the PKGBUILD: no, I wouldn't recommend splitting a package and building only 2 files out of it. It's better to (build &) install the full package, or you'll mess up your entire system (mostly because of the dependencies).
In your case, maybe it would have been better to
# pacman -Sy xorg
to get the latest libraries. They're the latest version (or almost the latest since 6.8.1 has just been released) and they are i686 (+optimizations) compiled (as the rest of your ArchLinux system). It might offer you better performance & stability.
(if you run that now, with your manually installed libs, you'll end up with 2 conflicts. Instead of the previous command, run pacman -Syf xorg).

Where are download lessons stored?

I'm new to iMac and Garage Bank 09.
I just downloaded the Guitar lessons and would like to back them up on external media just in case I loose them for some reason. The download has taken several hours and I'd sooner not have to download them again.
Where does download store these files by default?

Try downloading and installing the free version of Malwarebytes AntiMalware. Update your MBAM definitions and then run a full scan of the PC. (Takes about 2 hour on my Lenovo.)

iWork (no 's') for iOS & iWork for Mac have not gone away.
iWork.com (beta) (also no 's') is going away the end of July. iWork.com (beta) is/was an online method of sharing iWork files with other users & never moved out of beta in 3+ years. It is a completely different entity than the iWork apps & is not & never has been necessary for the iWork apps to function.
A Numbers document, as well as Pages or Keynote documents, cannot be opened on a PC. You must first export them to a file that a PC can use. For Numbers that is generally Excel. In Numbers on your iPad tap the wrench & then tap Share & Print & choose Excel as the file type.
As for transfering a file from a PC to an iPad, I'm not sure as I don't use a PC.

The D610 needs ACR 8.3 so you are easily covered there. I am not entirely clear on the process you are using the bring the files onto your hard drive. The safest way is to simply bring all the NEF files into a folder on your hard drive, then find them with bridge and open from there.
If still stuck, open Photoshop, and go Help > About plugins > Camera RAW and check that 8.7 installed OK.
