Where do I buy a line matching transformer 600 ohm 1/4 in m-10 kohm 3.5mm m

The Line out on my projector is quarter inch female 600 ohm. The line in on my camcorder is 3.5mm female 6.8 kOhm. I've looked all over the net. None of the transformers are exactly right. Please help. Is 600-20 close enough? (I found that.)
Thanks.

You shouldn't need anything more than a patch cable from one style connector to the other. As long as your source impedance is lower than your load impedance, you don't need a transformer, at least not in your case. It's doubtful that your projector has a balanced output and even more doubtful that it's a +4 output. If the audio comes through distorting, then yes, throw a mixer in between to bring it down, or cheaper, solder up a little pad with a couple resistors; a 470 ohm inserted (series) in the "tip" lead and a 220 ohm across tip and sleeve. That should give around 12dB attenuation. Do this only if you need to.
Actually, there was some distortion when I tried. I know the mic input on the camcorder is between 5&10Kohm. Will the line out on the projector be 600 ohms? Thanks for your help.

Where can I buy a new battery for my macbook

Depending on the build year model configuration
(reference serial number lookup online) you may
have a MacBook w/ built-in battery, or maybe not.
If yours does not have a user-accessible battery
you may want to look into iFixit.com guides to see
what they suggest for your specific MacBook.
And then consider if you are up to the DIY steps
with ability to do the complete service yourself,
or if not, then contact a qualified certified service
center to inquire their estimate for part + labor.
However if your computer does have an easily
replaced battery with external access where
you are essentially looking at the battery, that
is just a matter of identifying the correct Mac
to get a matching part from reputable reseller.
You could probably get a replacement battery
from Apple, if the computer isn't really old...
Or you could look online at places such as
OWC where they offer a few batteries. Just
be sure to avoid the low-end no-name clones
from auction sites or cheap copy imports.
    Good luck & happy computing!

  • Where can I buy a 2010 model white macbook?

I'm trying to see if anyone might be able to help me locate a place where I can buy a white 2010 model macbook. I'm okay with refurbished or even used as long as nothing is wrong with it. I've seen all kinds of web sites, but I don't really trust buying things from sites I don't frequent. Any suggestions?

I've checked the refurbished store. They didn't have any macbooks. I'm looking for this one in particular because it's white and I'm sure it's not going to be near as expensive as a refurbed macbook pro or air. I'm going for a 13" too, so that eliminates the 11" air.
If I call that number, do you have to pay to talk to someone? A friend of mine mentioned something along those lines and it scared me out of calling because I don't want to be charged for an unhelpful phone call. Sorry if it sounds like I'm complaining. >.<

  • Re: internal battery for eMac. Where can I buy one? (Date and time are becoming garbled).

I have an eMac which shows the date and time as random figures, suggesting that the internal battery is dead. Where can I buy a replacement? My local Apple reseller does not stock them.

That helps! Considering adding that to your profile. It can get you help faster for future "where to get" questions. We have a lot of active helpers here who are your countrymen (and women).
You may be able to find a battery seller locally, The PRAM battery is not limited to computer use. That model is also used in alarm systems. Look for a "1/2 AA 3.6V lithium" battery--that's about as generic description as one can give.
I found a seller that has a chart of battery number equivalents:
    http://www.medicbatteries.com/battery-cross-reference-guide
Look at the last line. There is a long list of manufacturers' battery numbers that are 1/2AA 3.6V. As long as you find one that's lithium (haven't seen any that aren't) you should be good to go.

    i buy the new imac,late 2012 with a hard-drive 3TB and i want to change with another hard-drive 1TB....where i can buy?

It's also much more difficult to install third-party hard drives in current or recent Macs than it was. See:
    http://blog.macsales.com/10146-apple-further-restricts-upgrade-options-on-new-im acs
The 2012 iMacs are also in essence glued together and very difficult to disassemble and reassemble. The bottom line is: don't try it.
Why, if I may ask, would you want to remove the 3TB drive and replace it with a 1TB drive? What is it you hope to achieve even if it were possible?
    Regards.

  • Where to find/buy WorkShop v4.2 compiler C/C++ license?

    Dear Friends,
    I buy a new Sun Blade-150 workstation.
For some reasons, I need to use WorkShop v4.2 compiler C/C++.
Could you tell me where to buy the license or download demo license?
    Thank you very much.

Workshop 4.2 has not been available for several years. You cannot buy copies or licenses for it. No support is available for it. In addition, WS 4.2 will not run on any version of Solaris that you can install on your new Sun Blade.
It's like asking where you can buy a copy of Windows 3.1 that you can run on your new PC -- Windows 3.1 and WorkShop 4.2 are about the same age.
All shipping versions of Sun Studio can generate code compatible with WorkShop 4.2, so you should not need an actual copy of 4.2 on your new system.
"Compatible" means that you can compile old source code using the new compiler, and you can link binaries created by 4.2 into a program created by the new compiler.
For C++, add the option -compat=4 on every CC command line, compiling and linking. Be sure to check the C++ Migration Guide that comes with the compiler. It explains every issue you might encounter when moving from C++ 4.2 to a current compiler.
For C, add the option -xc99=none on every cc command line, compiling and linking.

  • Where i can buy the keyboard for garage? and what other else has to buy to start my garageband?

Where i can buy the keyboard for garage? and what other else has to buy to start my garageband? I am a beginner for garageband. Thanks.

I second the M-Audio recommendation.  I have the Oxygen 8 and 61es keyboards from them, and they both work flawlessly with Garageband.
what other else has to buy to start my garageband?
This depends on what you want to do with Garageband.  Do you want to record with a keyboard only and just use Garageband's built-in software instruments? Do you want to record vocals? Do you want to record a guitar or bass or other instrument?  Do you want to record drums?
Technically, you don't even need a keyboard to use Garageband, you could just use the software keyboard (Window -> Keyboard) or musical typing (Window-> Musical Typing).  However, an external keyboard will give you a lot more flexibility.  I don't recommend trying to record drums into Garageband unless you already know how to mic drums.  Instead use the built-in drum kit software instruments with your keyboard.
Your iMac has a built-in mic, so you should be ok recording vocals with that.
If you want to record an acoustic guitar or another acoustic instrument, you can also use the built-in mic though you may find that you don't like the way it sounds very much since built-in mics tend to pick up lots of noise from the computer itself.
If you want to record an electric guitar or bass, you can just plug in the line out on your instrument to the line in port on your iMac, but you won't get really good results.  You'd be better off geting a piece of hardware called an audio interface  Sweetwater sells these too:  http://www.sweetwater.com/shop/computer-audio/audio_interfaces/ (USB and Firewire interfaces are easiest to start with.)  M-Audio also has some good cheap interfaces.  I've used the FastTrack Pro for a few years now, and I started out with the FastTrack USB.
Ok, that's probably more than you wanted to know...happy Garageband-ing!

  • Upgrade Graphics: Do I replace motherboard or is there a graphic card on notebooks? Where can I buy?

I have the HP G72-259WM Notebook PC , Product Number: Windows 7 (64bit) With 4GB of RAM and 1695MB video Ram. I just purchased a game (Star Wars: The Old Republic) and my laptop meets all the requirement stated on game accept one that I did not understand see until after the purchase. The Graphic card needs to run Shader 3.0 or greater. My Laptop is now out of warranty and would like to upgrade my hardware. Can I either purchase a motherboard or graphics card in order to run this game instead of buying a whole new system? Note: the game states that there are a few different cards that work with this game and wonder if there is something equal to, or a little better that match there capability that I can use? They are the ATI/AMD Radeon HD 4850, or NVIDA GeForceGTX 260 /512MB graphic cards.
I would like to use the all the same hardware with a new motherboard... unless the graphic card is separate and if so can you tell me what I need to get and where?
    Thanks

    Hi,
Buy new machine may be much cheaper. Not just motherboard, video card, you also need new cooling parts ...

  • Where can I buy a iphone 4g in Utah?

I would like to know where I could buy the iphone 4g the day it comes out. Also would I have to get in line early or will there be enough for everybody?

The iPhone is sold at Apple stores, AT&T corporate stores, Best Buy, Radio Shack, and Walmart.
If a Best Buy, Radio Shack, or Walmart is available, I would call the store to make sure the store will be selling the iPhone. An AT&T corporate store will be.

Where can I buy a larger hard drive for my late 2008, 15" macbook pro?  From reviewing questions and answers on the support community it would appear that having Apple remove the old and install the new hard drive is recommended.  But how/where?

    Welcome to Apple Support Communities
You can install the new hard disk yourself if you want to. You just need a 2'5" SATA II hard drive, which is compatible with your MacBook Pro. You can buy one at OWC > http://eshop.macsales.com/shop/hard-drives/2.5-Notebook/ You can filter hard drives by computer, so press a "Click to view all...", choose your computer in the sidebar and it will give you the compatible hard drives.
There are different brands for the MacBook Pro. The most recommended are HGST and Seagate, which have good reputation. A 7200 rpm hard drive will give you extra performance

  • Best Buy 100% Price Match Guarantee FAIL for Elite Plus member!!!

So during the Black Friday weekend I purchased a Dyson vacuum at a store.  I understand that Best Buy does not match pricing DURING Black Friday weekend.  So on 12/15 Amazon had the vacuum on sale for $26 less than what I paid.  Again, this is not Black Friday weekend but the item was purchased over Black Friday weekend.  So I called in for Best Buy to match the price.  I spoke with someone who seemed like temp help.  It did not sound like she was in a call center and she didn't know much and seemed to be IM'n with someone to get answers.  After initially telling me they would not match the price because the item was purchased during Black Friday I explained that it was no longer Black Friday and Best Buy policy does not obsolve them from matching prices for the next 5-6 weeks (the return date is 1/15/2015) from all items purchased over Black Friday weekend.  If so, no one would buy during Black Friday.  She said she would submit the price match and I would get an email letting me know if it has been approved.  I was patient and waited 2 weeks and nothing.  I called back and was told that the price match department was swamped and to please be patient.  So I waited till today to call back for the return date is in 2 days and still no price match email.  I am now being told that Best Buy only matches their own pricing if not at the time of sale AND they only match the price that same day when they can confirm the price. (which makes sense)  I'm also being told my price match was never sent to the correct department so it has been sitting in case # purgatory for the past month.  Why is any of this my fault?!  I spend over $3500 per year, year after year and I'm supposed to get 'Elite' service.  I know more than the people I'm speaking with on the phone!  I called in with a legit lower price, waited patiently for Best Buy to match, have now spoken with 3 different reps, been told something different each time about the price match policy (every time they were wrong) and now I'm being told because it wasn't matched when they could confirm the price they won't match the price?!  What am I missing?!
Total Price Match FAIL for Elite Plus member!!!  I can only image how people that aren't Elite are treated! :-)

    Dear iamkraz,
Thank you for bringing us your business this holiday and for your continued loyalty to us as a My Best Buy Elite Plus customer. I am sorry if your recent experience has left you disappointed after the service you received. I would be happy to help clarify this for you.
Per our Price Match Guarantee, “At the time of sale, we price match all local retail competitors (including their online prices) and we price match products shipped from and sold by these major online retailers: Amazon.com, Bhphotovideo.com, Crutchfield.com, Dell.com, HP.com, Newegg.com, and TigerDirect.com.” The only price match we would perform after the initial time of sale would be to a lower price in store or on BestBuy.com during your respective Return & Exchange period. You should have been provided with this as the reason for not receiving the price match when you were speaking with our support teams.
My apologies for any confusion this caused. I would like to get some more details from you about the conversations you had so I may properly document this here at the corporate level for coaching and training. • Where can I buy a genuine apple replacement battery (A1309) for my Mid 2010 17" Macbook Pro?

Where can I buy a genuine apple replacement battery (A1309) for my Mid 2010 17" Macbook Pro? There are used batteries on ebay that don't appear genuine. There are some third-party knock offs. The apple store seems to believe they can replace it, but I have to make a reservation at the silly Genius Bar just to have them tell me how much it's gonna cost, not to mention then likely wait for them to order the battery and install it. I'm perfectly capable of installing it myself. I just need to know where I can order it?
    Thanks,
    Andrew

Yeah, that's what I've finally decided. I was kidna super frustrated because the first apple store I called wouldn't even tell me a price or tell me if they could replace the battery without a Genius Bar appointment, and as I would have to take off work and drive acros town--and I don't have a car so I'd have to borrow one--that was pretty annoying. That call left me pricing linux laptops. I called another store to see if I'd have better luck, and the initial answer was the same, but the girl relented under some trying-to-be-nice-but-clearly-annoyed pressure, and she gave me the answers I needed: yes, they should have the battery in stock and it should be a same-day replacement that should cost $179.
It just *****, really, because there's so much about Apple that I used to love, and I'm watching it kinda melt away under their success in the mobile market. As a professional user, there's less and less reason to stick with them. Instead of being the best they can be, I feel like they're just trying to be flashier and just a little better than the other mediocre computer companies. Ugh. Anyway, now I'm ranting.
