Where do I download the newest beta of Firefox Sync?
My PC at home is running the latest beta of the extension on FF 3.6. My work PC however is running the latest stable build and is thus incombatible with the newest beta. When I tell FF on my work PC to check for extension updates, it doesn't find the newest beta for Firefox Sync. Is there a page where I can directly install it from?
The latest beta version is 1.5 beta 6, this is available from https://mozillalabs.com/sync/
You need to use the Experimental version link underneath the large "Download Sync for Firefox now!" link.

I highly recommend also installing a Flash blocker for your browser so that you don't get unwanted ads, etc. If you use Safari, ClickToFlash is great; it turns off Flash by default, and you easily turn it on by clicking right in your browser when you want to use it. I downloaded the ebates shopping toolbar and wish to remove it but it does not appear in my list of add ons or plug ins. I have just now downloaded the newest version of Firefox.
I am not able to remove the ebates tool bar because it does not appear when i go to tools then addons or extentions or plugins. Where is it?

I downloaded the newest version of firefox today 8/16/11 and now I cannot use Evernote (nor does clipmarks work from before) this is unacceptable. How do I return to the earlier version of firefox? If there is no way to do this, then I will have to use internet explorer so I hope you can help me with this. Thank You, Carol Roberts
Until Evernote updates their add-on to mark it compatible with Firefox 6, you can use the [https://addons.mozilla.org/en-US/firefox/addon/add-on-compatibility-reporter/ Add-on Compatibility Reporter] to try re-enabling it yourself.
You can also downgrade to a previous version of Firefox from [https://ftp.mozilla.org/pub/mozilla.org/firefox/releases/ this archive], but please be warned that some old versions of Firefox have known security bugs that are fixed in later versions. ever since I downloaded the newest version of Firefox, my Dragon NaturallySpeaking hasn't been working very well. For example, I will say "click register" or "click contact us" to select links and buttons on websites. Before this worked fine, but now it hardly works at all, which makes me think that because I am using a Dragon NaturallySpeaking program from 2007 or 2008, that it just doesn't know how to handle a program like Mozilla Firefox six that was written after its time. Or maybe it's the operating system? I was running an older version of Mozilla on Windows XP and now I am on Microsoft's seven.
What I want to try is to download an older version of Mozilla Firefox to see if the problems go away. I don't know if that would mean I would use Mozilla five or four, but I would like to try both. have recently downloaded the newest version of firefox. after installing i am happy to say i am pleased with the new look and features etc though for some reason i am unable to open new tabs as before.
i now have to right click on bookmarks or favorites and select open in a new tab to do so, rather than simply clicking on the new tab button..If the problem turns out to be the "New Tabs at the End" extension, there actually is an internal setting for this that you could use instead.
(1) In a new tab, type or paste '''about:config''' in the address bar and press Enter. Click the button promising to be careful.
(2) In the search box above the list, type or paste '''tabs''' and pause while the list is filtered
(3) Double-click the '''browser.tabs.insertRelatedAfterCurrent''' preference to switch it from true to false. That's it. -

Now look for C:\Documents and Settings\''username''\Application Data\Mozilla\Firefox\Profiles or some part of that path, or your actual profile folder, which would have had a semi-random name, typically ending with default, or the bookmarkbackups folder, which is the ultimate prize.

To recover your old Firefox settings folder (profile folder), try using a utility like Piriform's Recuva:

That needs to run ASAP before deleted files are overwritten.

We get an error message "Problem loading page" whenever we try to open Firefox. This started occurring just after we downloaded the latest version of Firefox.
I don't know whom to thank first-- b noir for telling me about the Lorraine fix or Lorraine for figuring out the fix. THE LORRAINE FIX WORKED FOR ME!!! (I feel a little like I am advertising "Hooked on Phonics" with that last line!)
Thank you doesn't say it strongly enough, but THANK YOU b noir and Lorraine for your help. I was to the boiling point last night and starting to get there tonight. Now I am resting easy and thankful that there is a community of computer users out there who care enough to troubleshoot problems together and work together to figure out a solution--and then to take the time to post and share information.
I would STRONGLY suggest that anyone who is having the iTunes issues where iTunes just plain won't open at all after downloading the newest version and has a pc with Norton Internet Security 2005 try the "Lorraine Method."
I am so happy I think I might sing. Or not--I will let my songs on iTunes do the singing for me now that I can again!!!!!!!
And to those still looking for answers--be patient--I now know how incredibly frustrating this can be and I hope that you all find your solutions very very soon!!

I got a message that the version of Firefox I was using was outdated, so I downloaded the newest version.
Now when I try & open Firefox I get the message, "Your computer must be restarted to complete a previous upgrade of Firefox. Do you want to reboot now?"

I presume that the reason why it takes so much time for Firefox to load and then for me to get responses is because my Internet access if by dial-up. I need a less rich, or complicated, version of Firefox. The previous version was okay in terms of speed. What can I do to speed up the processing. Is it because I downloaded the version from the Yahoo website?
