Where do I find effects/sounds on Logic Studio?

Hi,
Im still getting to know Studio and it might seem like a dumb question. But Im looking for all those effects you hear in music today.
You know pre chorus you hear a build up or build down type of noise, (in the way a drummer would brush on the symbol
before crashing it right on the chorus).  But there are so many different noise and effects to match that in music I hear in the charts.
Its a hard thing to describe cos these sounds are pretty varied but usually are used to signal a chorus end or begining.
Im just convinved these sounds are in there but I dont know where they are!!??
Another example I might add is: I really struggle to find any decent symbol crashes. There's like some you can use from Drums & Percussion
section but surely thats not all?? Half of them arent great....Or maybe because of my lack of knowledge on this people use all these but have
the know how to manipulate them with all the plug ins like Space Design??
Hope does makes some type of sense to anyone out there haha!

It might also be worth checking into third-party produced instrument plugins.  I recently got ToonTracks' EZ Drummer, and it's fantastic.  Really incredible sounds, lots of options, etc.  Cymbal swells are definitely harder to do, though.  It might be worth looking into purchasing an actual cymbal and some sticks and just recording those cymbal swells & flourishes the old fashioned way.
Or you could peruse the internet for free loop libraries.  Do a Google search for something like "loop cymbal swell free" and see what you come up with!

Where can i find the sound driver for my Toshiba Satellite U505-S2970 ?
    Please help me.
    Thanks

If "Realtek High Definition Audio" is listed under the "Sound, video and game controllers" in the Device Manager then that is your sound driver. Some people have had luck with uninstalling the Realtek HD audio driver from their computer via the Device Manager (be sure to check the "Delete driver software for this "), and then reinstalling it. You can get the latest version of the Realtek HD audio driver from the Realtek download site.
Many of us who have the Realtek HD sound driver have had to make several tweaks to improve the sound. Opening the Realtek HD Manager and enabling Loudness Equalization and setting the equalizer to Powerful helps with some of the low audio issues some of us have experienced with the Realtek HD sound drivers.

  • Where can I find my MBP's logic board Apple ID?

    Hi everyone,
Just out of curiosity, and in case my 2006 MacBook Pro should decide to send another logic board to electronic equipment heaven, I'd like to know how/where to get the Apple ID for the logic board that's installed on it, with the following two provisions (bear with here, OK?):
    1) I don't want to have to open my MBP (been there, done that, can still feel the sweat under my armpits); and
    2) I don't want to invest even the minimum amount of money in the operation.
I suppose there's a way to know which kind of logic board (ie, its Apple ID) is installed in my machine. I just don't know how...

OK, thanks, that must be it, I guess. I can't see any trace of another ID anyway. By the way, do you know how come I've got two Ethernet cards listed in my System Profiler?

  • Where can i find the upgrade from logic pro 7.1.1 to 7.2?

    Hello there.
Is the upgrade from logic pro 7.1.1 to 7.2 still available out there somewhere? I know I'm a bit behind the rest of the world but financially I'm taking the 'do the best with what you can' route!
Never used logic before, moving up from garageband and cubase sx cos everyone says it's a better program.
    Many thanks,
    GDx

    Hi
If I remember correctly, the 7.2 update was a "Paid for" update, with a new dvd.... so you are most likely out of luck.
The good news is that Logic Pro is pretty cheap on the Appstore

I was thinking to print the manual but it's 1300 pages and is going to cost too much... Are there any similar guides I can buy?
    Thanks to everyone

For Logic Pro 9, this is one of the best initial guides..imho

Logic Pro X books are yet to arrive and honestly, I'd wait until the books above are updated... before I'd buy any others out there... in regards to Logic Pro X...

  • Where Can I find content for Final Cut Studio!

    Hello,
I had final cut studio on my program but I didn't know that it came with content. I threw the box away. Is there a way where I can get those content for the programs?
    Thanks

"But the truth is i got it" yes you did....off a bit torrent. The DVDs are packaged together, it's quite obvious that you illegally obtained a stripped copy. No one is going to fall for your scam, you have some nerve to come here and try and pull it off. Your elementary school english isn't convincing either. I hate to be a bit rude but you have to grow up. If you did actually have a copy you could just show apple your serial number sheet and they'd replace the missing software, but that isn't the case here is it? You have embarrassed yourself and you name here.
    Mods please lock this!!!

  • Logic Studio updates

Can, someone please remind where I can find the updaters for Logic Studio? I know I have to sign in to get them with my serial number... but where they are is beyond me.... Why they can't be in a simple, obvious place is beyond me! Sorry Apple, your website isn't great.

Can, someone please remind where I can find the updaters for Logic Studio? I know I have to sign in to get them with my serial number.
Well, if you want to get technical about it, you're sort of right. But so is everyone else too.
There is a page to go to where you log in and put your serial in for Logic, and you can do all the updates from there.
    http://www.apple.com/logicstudio/download/
I found it pretty easily by going to the Mac tab, then scroll over to the Logic Studio pack (or search Logic in the main search window) then at the bottom of the Logic page is a link to updates.
But it's much easier to just do it through Software Updates.

  • Tutorials for Logic Studio?

I was wondering if anyone might be able to direct me to finding a tutorial for logic studio. I just bought the program yesterday and thought that would be the quickest and easiest way for me to understand the program. If no such thing exists than let me know too, thanks.

    http://www.macprovideo.com/tutorial/Logic8101
They have many other tutorials available too, including instruments such as Sculpture, Ultrabeat etc. in addition to the more general tutorials.

  • Where can I find good organ and keyboard sounds for Logic Express?

Where can I find good organ and keyboard sounds for Logic Express? The included sounds seem to be lacking or hard to access.

Update: Not terribly impressed with the interface for NI's Vintage Organs from the demo download, although the sound demos sure sound good. The letters are tiny and hard to read and the whole thing feels very PC-centric. I guess a guy gets spoiled by the intuitive stuff. I think what I'll try for now is just hooking up my keyboard (Korg N1, circa 1998, about 1700 built in sounds) as a sound module and record the waveforms when I find a sound I like. I did find the EXS24 and several other software synths with some cool organ sounds after digging a little deeper. It would be good if Apple came out with another jam pack just for organs and keys, as the existing jam packs are so easy to use.

  • Where do i find sound effects or loops ...

Where do i find sound effects or loops?

There was a Software Update yesterday that included a few hundred mb of sound FX - they appear as mentioned in the music and sound browser, accessed on the right where the two music notes are.
If you've ever had iLife, there's a tonne more content in that too (the Jingles folder in particular contains loads of quite useful muzaky, copyright-free soundtracks in a wide range of styles).
You can also add a whole folder of music as an event, and all the subfolder names are used as tags for the audio clips within it.  I did this before I realised the iLife stuff appeared in the audio browser.  It works well either way.

  • Logic Studio install - Sound Effects option disabled

When I go to install Logic Studio, in the list of things to install the selections "Sound Effects" and "Music Beds" are greyed out and uncheckable. If I install everything I can select, it skips the discs Audio Content 1 and 2. Is there a way to get at least the Sound Effects option enabled?
(This is for Logic Studio upgrade w/ Logic Pro 9, upgrading from Logic Express 8)

So I understand correctly that you are not involved in creating music in any way? Then Logic is NOT what you are looking for. It is mainly aimed at either recording and/or composing original music, and not as a ready to select library sort of thing.
Unfortunately, I can't tell you what you should get, but maybe one of the pro guys can help you out. You'll probably find some users here who actually make the sort of content you want to use.
Logic Pro is the main program in the Logic Studio set.
    regards, Erik.

  • Where do i find the classic hip hop remix ultrabeat setting in logic pro x, i have downloaded all drum kit additional content and have yet to see it. please help!

    Try Drum Machine
....and also the Logic Studio 2 Compatibility Sounds and Instruments found under the Legacy entry.... along with the GB 11 Sounds and instruments.. and finally the Instruments found under Jam pack 1, Jam Pack Remix and Jam Pack Rhythm,
Also make sure the Essential Sounds and Instruments set has downloaded completely too...
Personally, if you have the space, I'd download all the content...  as there is so much on offer for free... that you may find useful in the future.

  • In the Logic Pro X Score Editor's Inspector, where do I find the "insert pop-up menu"?

In the Score Editor's Inspector, where do I find the "insert pop-up menu" referred to in the Logic Pro X online Help manual? All I see are Time and Scale Quantize and Velocity. Is the online Help out-of-date?

Thank you, The Art of Sound—but the advanced features are already enabled, and yet I still don't have a an Insert Pop-up Menu.
    Thanks,

  • In logic pro, where do you find the knobs for the guitar amps like the treble, gain, mids, drive, level? In garageband there're knobs for the amp

In logic pro, where do you find the knobs for the guitar amps like the treble, gain, mids, drive, level? In garageband there're knobs for the amp & effects & pedals but in logic pro 9 all are just presets?
    Thanks for any help.

From one old hippie to another..
    LOGIC IS NOT GARAGEBAND
Stop comparing the two it's annoying!
