  • Anyone know where I can get instruction for using "numbers" I live in Fredericton NB

I am struggling with the "numbers" program.
Anyone know where I can take a class?
    I live in Fredericton NB
Actually, I strongly suspect if classes were available on any 'feature" that
Apple sales would soar!  Too often - I hear about the learning curve. Which I
must admit after many years of  Microsoft can be a reall challange.  Certainlly enough not to
recommend Apple to any of my friends.

    Numbers Help
Numbers Help - When you have the Number application open, it will display the word "Numbers" beside the "Apple".  The last option in this top menu bar is "Help".  Clicking on the help menu will display the links to the Numbers help menu.  Selecting "Numbers Help" will open an onboard help window.  The blue links in this window will take you to articles on the most commonly asked questions about Numbers.  Also, in the top right corner of this window, there is a search engine.  Typing in "key words" in this window and pressing return, will display help topics related to your help search.
Selecting "Video Tutorials" from the "Help" drop down, will open Apple's web page with Video Tutorials on using Numbers.  You can access also the on-line tutorials at - http://support.apple.com/videos#Numbers.

Selecting "Numbers User Guide" from the "Help" drop down will open a PDF User Guide for using Numbers.  http://manuals.info.apple.com/en_US/Numbers09_UserGuide.pdf.

Need More Help? - Apple has a book available for iWork 09 Learning entitled "Apple Training Series: iWork 09".  The book has written "how to's" as well as a video DVD, that helps you learn all the iWork 09 applications at your own pace.  You can find out info. about this book at - http://www.peachpit.com/imprint/series_detail.aspx?ser=413531.

  • I have a macbook air with osx 10.6.8 and it has a 1.4 GHz intel core duo processor and 2GB 1067 Mhz DDR3. I want to use icloud but am afraid buying the version of osx that is required will bog my computer speed down, or change the user inerface. I

I am not computer savy and like my macbook air because as a college student, and father that is very busy, I don't have to learn to re-use it every month after it crashes from a virus. Am I able to load the new version of osx that icloud requires onto this computer without changing it substantially or slowing it down?

If you want to sync it to the iPad from that Mac, you need to upgrade it to at least 10.5.8.
If you want to copy the music to another Mac, you don't. Move the iTunes folder of the item in the Finder's sidebar over as you would any other folder. If you put it somewhere other than the Music folder, launch iTunes with the Option key held down and point it to that location.

  • I have a mac book pro, 2006 with an 2.16 GHz Intel Core Duo processor, can I update to Lion? to use icloud.

Apple keep telling me I need to update to icloud but I'm not sure if Lion will work on my Mac. I've upgraded to snow leopard which seems to have knackered my .me or .mac account (whatever it's called now), so I don't seem to have any option but to upgrade to Lion if I every want to see my emails again.
Apple say I must have a Intel Core 2 processor for Lion to work...... at least I think that's what they say.
I have a mac book pro, 2006 with an 2.16 GHz Intel Core Duo processor, can I update to Lion?

    Lion System Requirements
Mac computer with an Intel Core 2 Duo, Core i3, Core i5, Core i7, or Xeon processor
    2GB of memory
    OS X v10.6.6 or later (v10.6.8 recommended)
    7GB of available space
Some features require an Apple ID; terms apply.
If you have a Core Duo model then you cannot upgrade to Lion. You can upgrade to Snow Leopard, but iCloud is not available for Snow Leopard.
Open System Profiler in the Utilities folder. Look for the Model ID in the displayed information. If you have a MacBookPro 2,1 or later then you have a Core 2 Duo model and can upgrade to Lion.

  • Can I use aperture 3 with 2.4 ghz intel core 2 duo?

Can I use Aperture 3 with an imac with a 2.4 ghz intel core duo processor?

Yes. I still use a 2006 2.33 GHz C2D MBP with 3 GB RAM as a backup box, and it "works." Be aware that iMac is underpowered overall for Aperture usage, but some folks do OK with it (4 GB RAM minimum). Like DLS said, more RAM is better than less RAM. 8 GB RAM is generally appropriate, but I can even overload the 8 GB in my 2011 MBP when running an aggressive Aperture/Photoshop workflow.
Also the stronger the GPU the better, and an SSD is far far preferable to a hard drive for boot, because any page outs go to SSD instead of to the horribly slow 2.5" laptop drive.

  • Hi, where can I find more templates for numbers?

I wonder if anyone knows where can I find more tmplates for Numbers?

From my point of view, the best source of templates is the chapter 12 of Numbers User Guide.

That's no bad thing Chuck.  It indicates that you have better things to do than constantly refresh the forum LOL.
I'm having a wee posting spree today after lacking the inclination to respond to the same old threads for the last few days.    But I do love it when people get all in a tizzy complaining about stuff that is right under their nose (so to speak).   So I guess my criteria for responding is often based as much on how big a smile it puts on my face, as to how much I am helping the OP.   Unfortunately that irreverent approach gets me into trouble at times, and one of the moderators deleted one of my illustrated replies just a few days ago.  It took me a few minutes to work out why it had been deleted.  The subtext was 'risking one eye', and I eventually realized that the implied 'risk' could definitely be seen as offensive to some people.

Where were you downloading the to,   iPhoto, a folder on the Desktop, where? Are they still on the camera's memory card?  If you deleted them from the card and haven't used the card since they can be recovered with recovery software like  MediaRECOVER. You can download the demo version to verify they can be recovered before purchasing it.  Other similar apps can be found at MacUpdate.com by searching for "photo recovery" or similar terms.
