Where do I find iTunes purchases backed up on Time Machine?
Where do I look to find TV show purchases from the iTunes store? Where are they on Time Machine?
Thanks.
everything kept in itunes library. it's located in your Music folder. I suggest you restore the whole itunes library if you need to restore anything. use time machine interface for restoring. don't try to copy anything via finder.

Everywhere I look it says I should have a folder for Firefox in library/applicationsupport/ BUT I don't have one! I'm looking to restore passwords from a time machine back up but there's no Firefox folder so I don't where to look. I even did a fresh install of Firefox on my mac and even then it never created a Firefox folder in library/applicationsupport/... they must be store somewhere in my back up...!?
Hello kamilr, check also in :
~/Library/Mozilla/Firefox/Profiles/<profile folder>
The tilde character (~) refers to the current user's Home folder, so ~/Library is the /Macintosh HD/Users/<username>/Library folder.
note that in mac 10.7 and above, the ~/Library folder is hidden by default, see : http://kb.mozillazine.org/Show_hidden_files_and_folders#Mac_OS_X
when you find the file seek for '''key3.db''' and '''signons.sqlite''' files.
Your passwords are stored in two different files, both of which are required:
'''key3.db''' - This file stores your key database for your passwords. To transfer your saved passwords, you must copy this file along with the following file.
'''signons.sqlite''' - Saved passwords

Where can i find edited adobe photoshop files in time machine after update?
i was having issues with my computer, brought it in to apple store. they suggested i back everything up on external using time machine before doing a erase/re-write. i did so. HOWEVER, my edited photos in photoshop & bridge are gone. after the re-write, i updated from CS3 to CS5.5. all of my metadata is gone from the pictures, my keywords and all of the edited photos.
i don't know if it is related and it's not really my question, but i cannot access any of my itunes music now as it says that it cannot find original files. super frustrating as no one seems to know how to help with this. these two issues arose after my time machine backup that the apple genius told me would certainly back up all of my files. it seems i did something wrong prior to the backup or prior to the software updates that i did after the rewrite. any suggestions that could point me in the right direction are appreciated. That path is still correct - at least it is on my system - but unless you had Library brought out into a place where it could be found, in the Sidebar for instance, I don't know how you'd get into it in Time Machine. Try this, though: access the user's Library folder via the Go To Folder command, then drag the Library folder into the sidebar. Then run Time Machine and see if the Library folder persists in the TM interface. If it does, you should then be able to navigate into Application Support/MobileSync/Backup/ and find and restore the backup folder.

Where can I find an iPad backup file in Time Machine?
I want to restore my iPad from a backup. I know how to do this, and have already done it before.
However, this time I would like to find a backup that is stored in Time Machine. So, two questions:
1) can I even do this?
2) if I can, then do you know where iTunes keeps the backup files for iPad's in OS X Lion? I would assume that I should be able to locate the backup file, copy it to my current day Mac and then restore the iPad using that file, no?
In previous OS versions the backups used to be in: ~/Library/Application Support/MobileSync/Backup/
However I have searched my whole machine and can't find a single folder that is called MobileSync. It is not hidden, nor in ~Library, nor in the USER\XXX\Library, nor anywhere.
Thank you,That path is still correct - at least it is on my system - but unless you had Library brought out into a place where it could be found, in the Sidebar for instance, I don't know how you'd get into it in Time Machine. Where can I find what the error messages of Time Machine means?
Checking my System Log Queries I found the following:
Could not back up OS X Recovery to /Volumes/Backup2/Backups.backupdb: Error Domain=NSOSStatusErrorDomain Code=-10 "Could not create com.apple.Boot.plist for recovery set" (kCFURLUnknownError / dsMacsBugInstalled: ) UserInfo=0x7fed8b312100 {NSLocalizedDescription=Could not create com.apple.Boot.plist for recovery set}
Can anyone explain what this means, and is it "fatal" in such a way that the backup made is useless for restoring? Where can I find documentation for such messages?
HansI reinstalled OS X just as you recommended. It seems that the error message concerning the Recovery set changed:

Where are my photos that i backed up to time machine?
I backed my photos up to my AirPort Time Capsule (3TB) a couple of months ago, and deleted them from may macbook. Now I can't find them on the Time Capsule. Any chance they're still there, and, if so, how can I get them back on to my macbook?

They should be in Pictures > iPhoto Library in your Time Machine Backup.

Where can I find calendar library in mountain lion time machine backup
Hi together,
I just had a series of new hardware and problems with the software. In december I had to buy a new MBP as the motherboard of my old one was damaged. So now, with mountain lion, I only have made one backup with time machine so far.
A few days ago I bought an iPad for the first time. Thats why I was reading the instruction for icloud and tried a few things. And there I made a mistake and all calender entries were deleted.
Thought: no big problem, as I have a backup. BUT I cant find the calendar files in the backup. I know, that the library is only shown in "Go to + alt-key", but I dont find it in the backup. (I tried also an terminal command written in a community thread, but nothing happend)
Please, can anybody help me?
Thanks a lot in advance!!!!If you synchronize any of your calendars with a server such as iCloud, disable that synchronization. Quit Calendar.
Triple-click the line below to select it: ~/Library/Calendars Right-click or control-click the highlighted line and select
Services ▹ Reveal
from the contextual menu. A Finder window should open with a folder selected. Enter Time Machine and restore that folder from the snapshot you want.
Relaunch Calendar and test. Your calendars should be as they were when the snapshot was taken. If you don't sync with a server, stop here. If you do sync some of the calendars with a server, select each one in turn and then select
File ▹ Export ▹ Export…
from the menu bar. You'll get ICS files with the filename extension ".ics". Re-enable sync. Usually, all the calendars you just restored will be deleted. That's not a problem. Create a new calendar on the server for each one you exported and want to sync:
File ▹ New Calendar
Then import the calendar from the corresponding ICS file:
File ▹ Import ▹ Import…
Follow the prompts to import the new events to the calendar you just created. For calendars that you don't want to sync, just import them again. They'll appear in the calendar list under On My Mac. -

Where do I find emails that I restored from Time Machine?
...they are not in "on my Mac; nor are they under the file name they were restored from...but they are there. When I searched for them they come up with the right folder name, but when I click on the folder it remains empty. I have only spent 4 very frustrating hours on this.
thanks for any insight
steveWell, I did find out some more information about how "restore" works. The restored folders go into a folder labeled com.apple.Mail.Backup; however, that folder was not visible until I closed mailed and then reopened, and voila, there was com.apple.Mail.Backup with the restored folder. The folder com.apple.Mail.Backup disappears each time a folder is restored, and then reappears once you close mail and reopen -odd in my opinion.
I would like to be able to restore multiple folders at the same time - if that capability exists I have yet to figure it out.
...another 10 pts for me???? -

Where do i find my purchased music from itunes in my library?
If you allow iTunes to organize your music, each one should be filed in the appropriate artist folder within your music folder. Why do you ask?
If you deleted the Purchased playlist in iTunes and want to get it back, try this:
You can recreate the playlist by creating a Smart playlist.
In iTunes choose File > New Smart Playlist

You can view the full purchase history on your account via your computer's iTunes : log into your account on your computer's iTunes via the Store > View Account menu option, you should then see a Purchase History section with a 'see all' link to the right of it.
