Where do i find MIME type video/asf?

I've been googling and downloading numerous plugins but have been unable to find the one for video/asf.
The website I'm trying to stream video from is:
http://www.ywtf2005.com/english/data/data01.asp
When I click on "Play Movie" i get:
The page “The 1st Yangyang World Summer Taekwondo Festival 2005” has content of MIME type “video/asf”. Because you don’t have a plug-in installed for this MIME type, this content can’t be displayed.
Where can I get this plug in? I've already downloaded divx and windows media player but they both don't have that specific MIME.
iMac G5   Mac OS X (10.4.3)

Yes, I also think this is the case. Does anyone know what my options are?

  • Safari can't find plug in MIME type "video/x-ms-asf-plugin"

    hello. i feel seriously computer illiterate at the moment.
    i want to listen to something,
    but it tells me this:
    The page “radio soleluna jova channel” has content of MIME type “video/x-ms-asf-plugin”, but you don’t have a plug-in for this MIME type. This page may have the plug-in for you to download and install:
    http://www.microsoft.com/windows/mediaplayer/download/default.asp"
    i went there and installed wmp the lastest version, and some quicktime-wmp related thing for macs, but still no go...what kind of program do i need to run this plug in or whatever?
    thanks in advance.

    Hi and Welcome to Apple Discussions
    That station is streaming their audio in a Microsoft sound format.
    The only way you'll be able to play Windows Media content in native mode on your Intel machine is using the free plug-in Flip4Mac plug-in. This plug-in automatically converts the windows content to a Quicktime format, which will play within Mac browsers.
    After downloading the plugin, double click on the download file to install the plug-in. There's really nothing else you need to do with the plug-in, as the default settings are sufficient for your needs.
    Next step is deciding where you can play Radio Soleluna. I tried it on Safari 4, but the content does not play. More than likely, this is due to how the site is coded. A good browser alternative that does play the content is Firefox 2.0.0.5. Once installed, you can import your existing Safari bookmarks to Firefox. This way you can access content on either browser.
    Before dealing with the Bookmarks (I'll provide guidance), download Flip4Mac, and if necessary, Firefox.

  • Safari doesn't display an object with MIME type video/mp4

    So, I've got a little hiccup here. I put together a CV in html with samples you can click to bring up. Now, I don't make any claims to professional geekdom, but I try to be fairly html savvy, and since I'm sending this to the college IT guys, I want to do it right. So I'd like this thing to use valid w3c compliant html. Not too tough, fix some missing quotes and learn how to use the object tag instead of embed. Done.
    Well, here's the problem. I loaded it into Safari for testing, and a Quicktime file won't play. Now, it runs fine on Firefox. The obtuse and awkwardly lumped in IE version of the object works fine (tested in IE6, Win2K virtual machine). And the same file ran fine when I had it using an embed tag. Now it just brings up the Quicktime emblem, takes up the specified amount of space, and doesn't do anything.
    What did I do wrong? I've got the latest Quicktime and Safari, and I know it's standards compliant. Do I have to feed it some more specific type for an h.264 encoded mp4?
    Here's the code I used. The embed tag is the one that works, the object tag is the compliant one that doesn't. I'm guessing I'm missing a parameter or something. Any advice?
    <embed scale="1" src="files/Sabres.mp4" pluginspage="http://www.apple.com/quicktime/download/" autoplay="FALSE" volume="100" cache="TRUE" height="496" width="640">
    <object type="video/mp4" data="files/Sabres.mp4" height="496" width="640">
    <param name="controller" value="true">
    <param name="autoplay" value="false">
    Your browser cannot display this content. Click here to download it.
    </object>

    Tom and Kirk, thanks for your time. That would work, but since <embed> is a non-standard tag, I want to avoid it.
    Andy, I actually stopped by that site last night, and I did use it for the object code.
    My problem is that for some reason, what looks like a legitimate implementation of <object> isn't displaying in Safari. I know Firefox is a bit more forgiving of sloppy code, so I don't blame Safari for that one. I know Safari can display the file because it displayed it properly when I called it with embed. I'm just not sure what's wrong with the code that's making Safari not bring up the video. It knows it's Quicktime and loads the file, I know that, because it brings up the emblem and starts hoarding RAM when I bring it up in Safari, but it just holds there. I've tried a couple MIME types, including video/quicktime and video/mp4, both worked in Firefox, and video/h264 just as a shot in the dark, and both Safari and Firefox showed the alternate content.
    By the way, here's the full code I used to display the object, using Castro's cloaking technique for IE compatibility. I omitted it earlier because when I isolated the non-IE section alone in the body of the document it behaved the same as it did with the cloaking (working in FF, broken in Safari).

  • Where can I find "Crystal Type" code examples?

    Morning all,
    I have tried searching the forums but cant find much (I dont find the search thread function very helpful but that might just be me and is another story for another time).
    I am trying to create my own formulars and functions on my report in CR4E, but I am have problems with the code.
    Where can I find a tutorial on the basics like converting a date to a string or delcaring a date or changing a string to a date.
    In Java one would do something like:
    String str_MyString;
    str_MyString = "This is a string";
    but in a crystal report you do something like (and I might incorrect in even this simple example):
    StringVar str_MyString;
    str_MyString = "This is a string";
    That slight difference of String and StringVar are the things I need to find out.
    In VB I can refer to a forms fields with str_MString = me.txt_Field1 but in crystal I dont know how to refer to a current field of the report I am working with.
    For example, I have a text box on my report which I have called "txt_MyNumber", I then want a formular or function to use the value that is found in that text box but cant work out to refer to it. I can refer to other formulars but not report fields. Is this even possible?
    I know the report field question might be viewed as a whole new question thus thread but I feel they close enough to remain in the same thread.
    So any help pointing me in the right direction.
    Or am I just an idiot and should rather give up trying to design crystal reports. (Ive been thrown in the very deep end at work so am trying to work everything out all at once with no beginner knowledge)
    Thanks all for help and suggestions.
    Cheers
    Darren

    Thanks for the quick reply, Alphonse
    Creating a UFL is what brought me to realise I am lacking in knowledge in the first place.
    I created a UFL that converts numbers to words. I am going to be using this later for translating
    transaction amounts into words in different languages.
    As a test I created a simple resource bundle that held 1=one, 2=two and so on until 10.
    My function is
    get_numbers_to_words(String key, String resBundleName, String str_Locale)
    So to test it I created a formula on in my report and used the following bit of code to test it.
    str_Number_to_Words  //formula name
    get_number_in_words("1", "NumbertoWords", ContentLocale)
    This works and gives me a return of "one".
    So I then wanted to have a field on the report pass in the key. The field is called txt_Number, so i tried:
    str_Number_to_Words  //formula name
    get_number_in_words({txt_Number}, "NumbertoWords", ContentLocale)
    but clearly that did not work. I tried many other variables or ways of putting the value I hold in the
    txt_Number field.
    I have no way of using the value held by the text box txt_Number.
    I then thought if I cant get a field to drive the key I will use something as simple as taking the current time
    and use the seconds unit digit as the variable to dynamically change and gives more a better testing
    ground so when I expand to the double figures I can use the seconds in general.
    This is what made me put up this post.
    With your first link you sent me, I am ashamed to say I dont really know how best to take that knowledge
    and put it in practice. This is where my lack of knowledge shines through. I understand what most
    methods and classes do from their descriptions and summaries and all that. But I am trying I promise.
    All I need is for one example to be shown and explained how the concept gets taken from those Package
    descriptions and into a working example I will be able to then work out how to use it for all the rest.
    Take com.crystaldecisions.reports.common.value.DateValue for example.
    If this last request is a silly request and a real waste of everyones time I totally understand and will start
    looking other ways of learning this all. I will not hold it against anyone if they tell me to go back to "school"
    and leave programming to real men/women.
    Thanks Alphonse and also the rest fo you.
    Cheers
    New Edited part:
    OK I am sort of getting somewhere. I have now got a function that can return the current time as a string
    but the part to return only the seconds is not working.
    Minutes_To_Number    //Function Name
    Function (TimeVar curr_Time)
    StringVar str_Minute;
    str_Minute = CStr(Second(curr_Time));  // This does not seem to be returning the current seconds. Why?
    //str_Minute = CStr(curr_Time);  //If this is not commented out I get the current time, so I know its working
    str_Minute;
    Var_Number      //Formular name
    Minutes_To_Number(PrintTime)
    str_Number_to_Words   // Formular that I want to get working
    // I want to pass the seconds into the Key field of my UFL function.
    get_number_in_words({@Var_Number}, "NumbertoWords", ContentLocale)
    Any ideas why the
    Second(curr_Time)
    does not return the seconds value?

    Ok I have managed to work out why my code was failing.
    It all boiled down to my use of "=" and not ":=". This being the type of Syntax differences I need to learn. Well guess I will just have to go through all the Example reports (found them after asking).
    So Im going to close this thread as worked out the answers.
    Cheers

  • Where does one find the type of MBP

    I just bought the latest MBP 15" and I'm thinking of getting Apple Care for it. I see listing such as "MB588LL/A". Where can I find if this is the model number that I have and if not, where would I look?
    I don't see any of this type of description anywhere in "About this mac".

    Any AppleCare enrollment number for PowerBook or MacBook Pro will work for the MacBook Pro. The oldest boxes only say PowerBook. Slightly newer ones will say PowerBook/MacBook Pro, and the newest ones will say MacBook Pro. Any of them will work as long as the enrollment number hasn't been used yet.
    Same story for the MacBook and MacBook Air. The oldest boxes will say iBook, the newer ones will say iBook/MacBook, and the newest ones say MacBook/MacBook Air. Even the iBook enrollment numbers will work for the MacBook Air.
    If you have a 13" MBP you'll want this product - http://store.apple.com/us/product/MC246LL/A
    If you have a 15" or 17" MBP you'll want this product - http://store.apple.com/us/product/MC247LL/A

  • Where can I find my music videos in iTunes 11?

    I recently updated to iTunes 11 and I'm having some difficulty locating my music videos. I used a program to download videos from YouTube then added them to my old iTunes 10 library and synced them to my iPhone. Now, however, I can't find a way to add the music videos anywhere. The movies section is empty and every time I add my video folder or add a video file, nothing happens. I can't believe I'm having such trouble just finding my music videos.

    I used to do the same thing you're talking about... In iTunes 11 it looks like you can drop the downloaded video onto the main library window, pretty much anywhere, just like before.  The dragged and dropped video file gets put in the "Home Videos" section under Movies for some reason.  Just go to the drop-down button in the top left of the library view and select "Movies" (second one down) and once in there, pick the "Home Videos" tab or even the "List" tab.  Your imported file should be there!
      Good Luck!

  • How / where can I find my pictures/videos that's been lost from my iPad?

  • Where can I find "iMovie splash" video?

    Following a catastrophic kernel panic and subsequent erase and install, I seem to have lost that little QuickTime video called "iMovie splash". Does anyone know where I can download it again? It lasts about 7 seconds and consists of a group of children dancing with a close-up of one of the girls grinning and clapping her hand over her mouth. The final caption reads "iMovie". I used to append it to the end of all my iMovie "productions".
    Ken.

    David, sorry to be so thick but I thought that because I sent you an e-mail, using the address I found by clicking on your name, you would automatically be able to send me a return e-mail. As you can see, I'm merely trying to get out of publishing my e-mail address within Preferences because I only have two addresses which are both used extensively. Alternatively, could I just send you an e-mail which contains my e-mail address? That would be my preferred option. If I'm barking up the wrong tree, just let me know and I'll see if I can remember how to either create a new address and use that, or alternatively use one of my two current addresses in Preferences for just as long as it takes for you to send me the attachment and afterwards, remove it.

  • Where can I find details about video editing in CS6?

    It looks like CS6 treats video adjustments almost like layers, but the screen interface does not really show whether that is so. Is it? Also, I am curious what default file format is being used by the File Save As dialogue where video is concerned. It only shows a PSD format but the saved file seems to act like the original MOV file. And the MOV format is not actually offered as an option. Can I get more details about these issues? BTW there are some great new features!

  • File Download and Mime-Types

    I have some files (txt, xls, rtf, pdf) that need to be downloaded from our site. I
    have an http link to the files on the web page. I've set mime-types for each file
    type in web.xml for that web app. I'm using WLS 6sp2 on Windows 2K. I'm using an
    MVC model for the application with a Controller servlet. Every time anyone tries
    to click on the link and download it, the Contorller kicks them to a default page.
    Can anyone help?
    Thank you.

    Go to IIS Management console. At the server level, go to MIME Types. Add a new MIME type:
    File name extension:
    .mp4
    MIME type:
    video/mp4
    Restart IIS (can't remember if this is required).
