Where do I find my mail preferences?

I cannot send emails. Thunderbird tells me to check my mail preferences to see if my email address is correct because the server responded "Not permitted"

From the Menu Bar select Tools-Account Settings
No menu bar with Tools? Press the alt key.

    HI Agnes,
Did you just delete it from the Dock?
If so look in the Applications folder.
If you deleted the real Mail.App...
    Get Pacifist...

then extract/install what you need from your Install Disc.

  • Where can I find a mail that's stored in quarantine?

We have a user that doesn't get all the mail he should. I turned on forwarding all mails that Spam Assasin gets, and soon one of the mails got caught there!
    So, I got the message:
"The message has been quarantined as:
    spam-5ed7458e42ce8e31a18299f33ee85b12-20111219-235053-20971-09.gz"
Where can I find this mail?
    Tia!

In Finder? Finder's an app that doesn't have any folders. When trying Spotlight, expand the search criteria to include System files, and try again.

  • Where do I find the internet preferences pane

I am using an iMac., iPad and an iPhones 4s. Until this morning, using iCloud, all devices were being updated automatically,
I tried to look at my webmail on BT broadband and it insisted I change my passwor, which I did. However now the devices do not update and are
no longer picking up e-mail. I tried reverting to my original BT password but the problem persists.

  • Where can I find archived mail and how can I retrieve it?

I archived emails I wanted to keep and retread later, but I don't know where they've gone to or how to get them to read. Any help will be appreciated. I have an iPad mini , the iOS is 6.1 I'm pretty sure.

What email service are you using POP3, IMAP, Google, iCloud, your internet service provider?
With POP3 by default the iPad is set to delete old emails automatically. POP3 accounts such as the one your internet service provider gave you will have settings on the iPad you can change. Go to Settings/Mail, Contacts, Calendars/"Your Email Account"/Advanced and set Deleted Emails/Remove to never. I find this option is not labeled very well and gives the impression it is for the messages in the Trash, but auto deletes messages in the Inbox as well.
IMAP accounts such as iCloud and GMail are on the server and effect all devices.

  • Where do we find the mail in rebate for PSE8?

    Hi,
I bought the software online a few weeks ago (for Black Friday I think) but I cannot figure out where in the mail-in rebate form we need to complete to receive the 20$ off the price...
    Thanks!

But check the last post in that thread, too. You may not have it if you bought it from a store that isn't eligible.

  • HT204053 Where do I find iCloud mail?

I am a fairly advanced user of IOS on my iPad,but new to iCloud. Why can't I find a simple thing,  I would think, like iCloud Mail?

To enable iCloud on your Windows PC,
first set up iCloud on your other ( Apple ) devices,
then install the iCloud Control Panel for Windows...

  • HT201269 Where can I find my mail on time machine to restore my mail folders?

I have just synched my first ihpone with my imac.  I thought the data would copy from the imac to the ipone bu the reverse seems to have happened.  I was using mail folders to store all my important messages and they have all disappeared.  I am now trying to resotr ethem using Time Machine but I can't locate them on there.  I have looked at previous forums on this but the cmd shift G search advice isn't working.

Hi, I never use TM, but...
Have you looked through Pondini's extensive TM help site?

Can't imaging something not being covered there.

  • Where do i find mail on a time machine copy

where do i find lost mail on a time machine copy

When you open Finder and then from the Time Machine Icon in the menu bar hold the option key and Browse Other Backup Disks. then ⇧⌘G, then ~/Library/Mail/V2, you're not seeing the folder with your old emails? (don't open TM from Mail)
If you see your old mail, then this may be a long-way, but....
    BACKUP your current email
Log into the Guest Account (->System Preferences->Users & Groups)
Open Finder, then from the Time Machine Icon in the menu bar hold the option key and Browse Other Backup Disks. then ⇧⌘G, then ~/Library/Mail/V2 and restore the V2 Folder
Now start Mail and set up your accounts (all your emails from the TM should be restored)
You can then Mail->Mailbox->Export Mailbox and save to your Desktop (do this with each Mailbox)
Copy these exported mailboxes to a USB drive
    Log into your regular account.
    Open Mail and File->Import Mailboxes.
    Hope this helps.

  • Where would i find mail, safari bookmarks, etc?

im reinstalling maverick on another HD. where would i find my mail folder to drag and drop and also safari bookmarks? so i want have to start over compelety? thanks

One way to deal with the Safari Bookmarks is to open Safari and use the "Export Bookmarks..." item on the File menu. You can specify where to save them.
Mail is in Users > username > Library > Mail
Library is normally hidden in Finder. Use the Finder Go menu and hold down the Option key to see and click on Library. I've never tried copying the Mail folder and moving it to another machine, so there may be more to it than just the above folder.

  • No Mail Preferences Need to Look at My Account Settings

Ok - Someone got my email password and I had to call my email company. They had me change my password. But now I cannot send mail. I can receive it. And all my other email address are working. Something happened with my mail awhile ago where when I click on mail preferences the only thing that comes up is a box with rules. I don't know how to fix this. I have tried everything that I can think of. I have browsed through here, but I am not too familiar with this new OSX mac stuff. So if anyone can help me I would really appreciate it. Oh, maybe this will help you too, I downloaded Eudora, a mac email program (cause there are no mail programs out there for us mac lovers) and I set this up. I am still getting the same problem, I cannot send emails. Which leads me to believe there is something I am missing.

When you have opened Preferences (which isn't giving you any choices), still with Preferences pane open the next thing to do is to go back up to the top menu bar click on View
and from that will be a choice Show Toolbar (in preferences)
After doing that you should once again have General, Accounts, Junk Mail, Fonts and colours, Viewing, Composing, signature, Rules.
You are only seeing Rules, because the toolbar is not showing.

  • Can't find mail download or mail preference folders in library, where are they?

Can't find mail download or mail preference folders in library, where are they?

adding backing vocals is a feature, I can't find them or how to do it.
The backing vocals are software instruments, listed in the "Choir" section of the software instrument browser. Afaik, the basic GarageBand does not have these instruments. My "choirs" all came with the JamPacks. The JamPacks are no longer sold separately, but if you buy Mainstage 2, you will get all Jam pack instruments and loops to be used with GararageBand; and it is not very expensive (~23 € at the AppStore).

  • HT201342 I cannot find any place to "Go to Mail Preferences".  I have tried looking under both "Mail" and "System Preferences" and there is nothing there entitled "Mail Preferences".  Where is that button located?

The instructions say "Go to Mail Preferences."
I cannot find any place called "Mail Preferences".  I have tried looking under both "Mail" and "System Preferences" and there is nothing there entitled "Mail Preferences". Under "Preferences" there is no subheading as described in the iCloud instructions.  Where is that "Mail Preferences" button located?

Open Mail, go to the 'Mail' menu, select Preferences.

  • I sent e-mail photos from iPhoto using my @me account but I do not find the history of sent e-mails in my new iCloud account. Where can I find the history of sent e-mails?

I sent e-mail photos from iPhoto using my @me account but I do not find the history of sent e-mails in my new iCloud account. Where can I find the history of sent e-mails?

Using iPhoto as the email client in iPhoto does not creatge a sent copy.  iPhoto indicates in the Info drawer if a photo was emailed by iPhoto (under the Sharing section):
There's no easy way to search for photos that have been emailed. Each photo has to be inspected via the Info tray.
One could add a keyword to emailed photos which would let a smart album keep track of those photos.
A better solution, IMO, is to set Mail as the email client (in iPhoto's General preference pane) and use it.  That will give you an sent copy, better access to your contacts and, if you want a theme, numerous photo themes under the Stationary section of Mail.

Put the icon in the menu bar (if not already there) ->System Preferences->Time Machine->Show Time Machine status in menu bar.
Then, while in Mail, click the icon, and select "Enter Time Machine"
