Where Do I Find My Printer on my Computer?

This might seem like a dumb question, but where do I find my printer on my computer? I recently installed a new HP laserjet printer and wanted to scan a picture, but I got a scanning error (it said that there was no scanner found). I opened up an icon on the bottom, but the product that it worked with was my old printer which I do not have connected to my computer any more. There was only one option for the printer in the drop down menu. However, I have been able to print out documents and pictures from my new printer. My last printer, an HP inkjet, also gave me an error message whenever I tried to scan something. I want to find the place on my computer where it gives the information of where things are, like the hardware. I know it is on here somewhere as I recently was there, but can't seem to remember how I got there. Thanks for any help. I am looking specifically for help in installing the scanner part of the printer.

Actually the best place is the web site for the printer. You'll also need the model, but there are still some OS9 drivers out there.
You must supply the printer make and model for people here to help further.

It turned out that WD is the big bad guy in this game.
According the data rescue company where I asked for an inspection, both of the drives had their reader head loose. And in the one, which was my already-in-use disk its even damaged the platters... xxxxx
So its time to pay bunch of money to recover, and take a walk to wd service to bang on the desk.
Also note - it may be somehow related to intellispeed technology - since macs not really friendly with wd-s built-in solutions.
On the other hand, with WD GP 1Tb there is no problems at all for ages.

  • Where do I find the printer dialog box to change the setting that asks me to save a file before printing

Where do I find the printer dialog box to change the setting that asks me to save a file before printing

    Hi Sara,
The problem is every time I try to copy a page from a website or attachment sent to me or anything that I don't create, the dialog box says I have to save it before I can print -- there are no other options on the dialog box.  Very frustrating -- one of the girls in my office is having the same problem and we can't find a way around it.
    Hope you can help
    Thanks

Currently shipping docs are for Oracle Waveset 8.1.1
    http://docs.sun.com/app/docs/prod/sjs.ident.mgr81~1514.7#hic
You'll probably want to start with the Deployment Guide & Reference to get a feel for the different components.
Specifically, you're looking for something better than Ch. 5 : XPRESS Lanugage in the Deployment Guide.
    http://docs.sun.com/app/docs/doc/821-0378/bvbps?a=view
You should review the forms and look for the dependencies of other forms, libraries, rules et al.
Forms may be used by workflow, the other major XPRESS execution area in Waveset.
In certain deployments, reusable form components are stitched together with elegance; in others, it's a train wreck of one-use forms that duplicate vast amounts of unreadable code in dozens and hundreds of files.
Typically, a build procedure is generated to allow you to click forms into a larger project deployment structure. Without knowing what's lying around, it's tough to examine a single file and get an idea for how the object affect the installation...
The netbeans plugin for Waveset provides easy access to help on many functions and the entire javadoc set for com.waveset, which may have shortcuts you can learn from... especially around building a base project and customizing simple objects.
If the Identity System Essentials tutorials are still around, they were a good place for template examples...

I used sync to get notes from my i-pad to my computer. It apparently went to my windows 2007 but where do I find the notes on my computer?

    Thank you.
Your answer led me to the notes I was seeking.
When I looked at the bottom of the left side in outlook I did not see any icon but I saw a little arrow.
When I clicked on that it I was able to specifiy that I wanted an icon for notes.
When I added the icon, I was able to click on the icon and find my notes.

  • Where can I find a print driver compatible with OS 10.7 for USB HP LaserJet P1006?

Where can I find and download a print driver compatible with OS 10.7.5 on iMac for USB HP LaserJet P1006?
Ran software update. Apple notes that a driver is unavailable, consult HP (who seems to offer only info but no software download available).
Any troubleshooting info or hints are appreciated.

    Hi LPfromMA,
I'm sorry to hear you've run into difficulties finding the driver for your HP Laserjet P1006 for your Mac OS X 10.7.5.
I have included a document with the steps to download and install the driver for your printer and your Mac. It has a section for a USB connection.  I have also checked HP.com and there is driver for Mac OS X 10.7.

  • Where can I find a printer driver for Canon Pixma iP6600D? I have Mac OS 10.9.2

I have a great printer Canon Pixma iP6600D, still works great. I want to either download a printer driver or I want to learn how to transfer the driver from my Mac desk top. If I knew where to find the driver I could just manually transfer it from my desktop to my laptop.  Both are running maverick.
    Can anyone help me?

The last driver that Canon released for the iP6600D was v10.51 for OS X 10.7. You could try downloading and installing this driver via this link.
Note that the driver may not be digitally signed so Gatekeeper will block its installation. To get past Gatekeeper, you can right-click on the installer and select Open from the pop-up menu that appears. You will then be given the option to install the driver.

  • Where do i find the printer driver i've just installed

Hi I've installed the printer drivers for my Canon MP460 (which where supposed to be included in the installation according to list of included printer drivers I found somewhere in the knowledge base here.
Where on earth are they located now as I cant find it in the list of installed printer drivers in the printer manager?
    kind regards
    Gill

    Hi Gill,
This article from Microsoft's Knowledge Base should help you to set up Printer Sharing under Windows:
    http://support.microsoft.com/kb/814005/en-us
Once all of that is set up correctly, make sure that both computers are using the same Wifi network, and go into System Preferences on the Mac. Click Print & Fax, and click on the little + sign under the Printers list on the left side of the window. In the resulting window, you will have a number of choices and I don't exactly know which will work, though you should try them all. The printer may appear in the "Default" tab of that window. If it does not, click the "Windows" tab and see if it appears there. You may have to click "workgroup" to expand the list and see if it is there.
Let us know if that works out or not.

  • How or where do I find the printer year? HP OfficeJet Pro 8600 Plus

How can I get the printer year for the HP OfficeJet Pro 8600 Plus? I have looked in printer staus report and the various labels I can find on the printer itself. I'm sure I'm just missing it.I bought it new, so I do not have any reason to think the information was removed prior to purchase. Thanks

The printer status report has in line 47 the date (rounded to the week) the printhead was installed.  Except in the rare case the printhead has been replaced this would correspond to the date the printer was installed.
