Hello all of you,
Due to the fact I am very low in knowledge of PC I ask you experienced people to help..2days ago I wanted to start my laptop and immediate warning that pc was infected with spyware but also impossible to get a connection with internet ,the system blocked totaly so impossible to download anti spyware or protect ..
I thought of using the recovery and restart all over..I need my laptop urgently and hope someone out there can advice me..also good to know :!! I dont find my cd for the moment (recovery etc)

Os installation is very simply. If you use original recovery CD it can be done in 20 minutes. Unfortunately you do not have it and you must use Microsoft installations CD. Start notebook with installations CD placed in CD/DVD-ROM and press F12 after switching your notebook ON. Choose CD/DVD device and press ENTER.
Follow the installations instructions on the screen. If you have more partitions be careful and choose the right one for OS installation. The only problem is that all drivers, tools and utilities must be installed later. All of them you can find on Toshiba download page but if you do not have internet connectivity it can be problem for you.
Search for recovery CD and use it for OS installation. This is the best and fastest solution for you.

1. iTunes won't offer cloud downloads for songs that it "thinks" are in your library, even if it "knows" the files are missing. If you've exhaustively searched for the missing files and there is no prospect of repair by restoring to them to their original locations, or connecting to new ones, then delete that tracks that display both the missing exclamation mark and are of media kind Purchased/Protected AAC audio file. Don't hide from iTunes in the cloud when asked, close iTunes, then reopen. You can download from the cloud links or iTunes Store > Quicklinks > Purchased > Music > Not on this computer > All songs > Download all.
2. Why? Not sure, perhaps 3rd party tools or accidental key presses combined with previously hidden warning messages when trying to organize the library. There is a hint that using the feature to downsample media as it is synced to a device may also be involved, though I've not replicated it. Whatever the reason a backup would protect your media.

The tutorial courses that got me going were on lynda.com. Both the PE and PrE courses are taught by instructors that know the software and how to teach on line.
The difference between random turtorials and a course is organization. A course has a beginning, or foundation and builds skills one at a time. Random tutorials like on Adobe TV or YouTube can be very good but they don't have the sequential skill building process.
Many of the Adobe TV tutorials are chapters provided by lynda.com as part of their marketing program. If you like them, you can pay the $25 a month for the full course work.

A try at google with sufficient keywords often reveals the answer.
My estimate is 60-80% of the questions posted here can be solved by constructing a good google search, and take some time to read the hits.
Of course experience with using linux helps (to choose the rights search keywords)
To the original poster: there is a very valuable command called 'man', which means 'manual'. if you need information about commands, use the manual, for example: man lsto learn about the 'ls' (list) command. also try man manthe manual page about the manual pages command.

I am learning Captivate 7 and I'm stuck trying to create a series of Likert quiz slides. I can't find detailed instruction on how to set up the selections on the scale.

I would like to know how to read Likert results. Any help would be appreciated.
I have 15 comments that I need feedback from. There are three possible responses; Seldom, Sometimes, & Often. I would like to assign a point value (numeric value) to each response.

Sometimes=2
Often=3
Once they have been answered , I would like to then take the total point values of only specific questions and display them. (e.g.Questions 2,4,7,9,13). Is it possible to track and assign a point value to each response. I figure once I get them into variables I can create an Advance Action to do the math. Any help would be greatly appreciated.

I have an old Powerbook G4 on which I had installed OS 10.4.11,
but I can't seem to find the cd to reinstall. It is running a bit slow as it has been many years, and I wanted to format the hard drive and reinstall the same OS.
I also have Mac OS leopard, but i think it might be too heavy for this old machine.
1. What is the latest OS I can put on this powerbook so that it still runs smoothly?
2. If i want to install 10.4.11 where can I find it?

What email service are you using POP3, IMAP, Google, iCloud, your internet service provider?
With POP3 by default the iPad is set to delete old emails automatically. POP3 accounts such as the one your internet service provider gave you will have settings on the iPad you can change. Go to Settings/Mail, Contacts, Calendars/"Your Email Account"/Advanced and set Deleted Emails/Remove to never. I find this option is not labeled very well and gives the impression it is for the messages in the Trash, but auto deletes messages in the Inbox as well.
IMAP accounts such as iCloud and GMail are on the server and effect all devices.
