With iTunes running pull down iTunes Menu > About. This will show you the version. To check for updates pull down Apple Menu > Software update.

If you have the current version of iOS (i.e. 5.1.1, Settings > General > About > Version) then iTunes is up-to-date - you can only update the built-in apps via iOS updates, so if you have the current version of iOS then all your built-in apps are up-to-date.

Help > About iTunes.  This will bring up a window with a scrolling display of your iTunes version and other information.
If you don't see a Help menu, first use CTRL+B to enable the menu bar.

  • Where can I find previous version of iTunes to download?

I upgraded my iTunes to version 9 and as it turns out will not work with my current Os 10.3.9. I then uninstalled it and put verions 8 in as in turns out that is also not able to run with my version of Quicktime. Basicaly i need to download version 7 in order to get it running again. For some reason Apple does not seem to have a place to download older iTunes verions, only ver 9 and 8. I have heard of a site called oldaps.com but it turns out they no longer carry itunes for mac, only for windows.
If anyone can point me to a place I can download older versions of iTunes that would be very helpfull.
    Thanks

You can get iTunes 7.7 for Mac from the Apple downloads section: iTunes 7.7

  • Where do i find the version of itunes before 10.5?

    Hello all,
is there a way to get a virus/spyware free versione of Itunes before the 10.5?
I deleted the previous version and my itunes 10.5 does not work on my pc... I gave up, I'll wait a fix from Apple.
    thanks a lot

I use Windows XP. The icon looks lik a closeup of an eye and aface with some colored dots in the upper left hand corner. The version does not show when I hover over the icon. The reason I started looking for the version is because I recently watched a tutorial that was using a tool called a "magic extractor" to cut out part of a picture to move to another picture. My version did not have that tool when I clicked on "Image" It seemed like a cool, easy to use tool but it is not present in my version. I have a magic lasoo that does the same thing but not quite as easily.

  • How do you know what version of itunes I have

I keep trying to update to the 10.5 version of itunes and my computer says that I am completely updated. When I try to plug my iphone4S it says it can not be supported if I dont update to the newest version of itunes. Help please

Choose About iTunes from the Apple menu. If it reveals that you're running an older version of iTunes and Software Update says it's up to date, put it back in the Applications folder and make sure it's named exactly iTunes or iTunes.app.

  • Where can I find what versions of software are compatible with Yosemite? ie. Logic Express, Microsoft Office, iTunes etc

    Hi,
I'm thinking of getting a new iMac, however I am concerned some current software will not be compatible with it and I'll lose files etc. For example all my music files for Logic Express 8.
    I am currently running:
    Mac OS X version 10.6.8,
    iTunes 11.4,
    iPhoto 7.1.5,
    Logic Express 8.0.2,
    Microsoft Word/Excel etc. is 12.3.6.
These are the most used applications so I want to limit any losses from these if I were to get a new iMac.
Any support with this, and on how to transfer files to a new iMac would be very much appreciated.
    Thank you.

    Compatibility Table.

  • Where can I find a version of iTunes that is compatible with Tiger and access podcasts for me?

All the auto upgrades are installed - Tiger up to v 10.4.11 - but when I click on podcasts the window opens in a feedback loop to upgrade iTunes via the iTunes Store, where I cannot go anwhere without creating a new id and offering up my credit card details !!!!!!!!!  this isn't the apple I knew and loved.

Get more information about your computer. Go to the Apple in the upper left corner of any window, then  "About This Mac".  Write down what it says about "version"and report that here.  Now continue to "More Info..."  Copy and paste the information here, but omit the serial number and Hardware UUID (if present).
You can upgrade to Snow Leopard, but check system requirements first, particularly RAM ("memory") from the previous step:
    Snow Leopard 10.6 Technical Requirements - http://support.apple.com/kb/SP575
You can buy Snow Leopard at:
Snow Leopard disc source - http://store.apple.com/us/product/MC573Z/A/mac-os-x-106-snow-leopard
After installing run the updater to 10.6.8, then upgrade iTunes.

  • How do you know what version of iTunes you have?

I need to know! How do I find this out?

Look for the HELP tab when you have iTunes running. Click on help then scroll down to "About iTunes"
Your Version number will pop up and driver versions will scroll bottoms up.
If you don't have version 6, back up your music/iTunes and go for it. I went from 4.7 to 6.0 last night. Other posters have said to turn off Norton and firewalls to avoid problems.

  • Where Do I Look to See What Version of iTunes I'm Running?

OK, probably a simple, simple answer (and perhaps a dopey question!) -- but where do I look to see what version of iTunes I'm running? I've looked in obvious places (on every tab in my itunes library, right clicked on itunes tab on desktop and checked properties). I actually have no clue as to what version I'm running.
Also, I'm debating about updating (uh, NO not to 7.7. or 7.7.1) but to an older version. Does anyone know what older version worked w/out all the 'bugs'? I've seen 7.6.something listed many times and folks saying that version worked great until they updated to 7.7. Did this version work ok? Thanks again.

"For the 'Registration' loop, I clicked the 'Never show message again' box."
Any way to conjur up this box? When I plug in my ipod, it just brings up the registration page. I click 'register later', and the page stays. I click 'never register' and the page stays. I click 'continue' and fill out information and click 'submit' and that last page just stays. It won't even let me cancel out of the page and just bring up my summary page. I'd gladly never see this message again but how do I do that?
"The only downside to downgrading to 7.6 is NOT having the Apps Store available in iTunes."
What is 'Apps Store'? Thanks again.
