Hi, apps are disappearing off my iPhone and I can't get them back. Spotify, Shazam, BBC iPlayer and the Maps app have just gone. I have tried to redownload them from the App Store but there isn't the option, cant get them back with iTunes either. Help!

I wish it was as simple as that. I have tried to redownload them but they are marked as installed.
I have even gone into iTunes and in the app tab untucked the disappeared apps, synced, then reticked the apps. This is where the strangest thing happens, the app appears on my iPhone, the progress bar goes from zero to the top, then, when the app should be installed, it disappears.
So far Spotify, BBC iPlayer, the Maps app, iFooty, and probably some apps I'm not aware of are affected.
Interestingly, the apps have also gone from my wife's iPhone which is on the same Apple I'd, but they haven't gone from my iPad which is also on the same Apple I'd.

Basic troubleshooting is reset, restart, restore. Have the first two been tried?
How about simply unplugging the iPhone and plugging it back in to sync?
What has been done in an attempt to troubleshoot the issue?

APPS are not on my Iphone

Hi, I reset my Iphone and now, I'm not able to put any apps on it because this icone is nt avail everywhere. This is a 1st gen Ipodtouch (16GO). I search everywhere and I found no answer about this situation. Well, when I open my Ipod, I only have 12 icone in the principal window and only 4 on the bottom. And guess what, No APPS icone ! Does somebody can help me.
(It said Version is 1.1.5 and when i look for any update, I got the same message... you Ipod is already updated)
(Itune verion 10.3.1.55)
(I'm using windows 7).

That happened to me too. A list of problems is below:
Did you JUST purchase these apps? If so, did you turn the iPhone/iPad/iPod Touch off while they were downloading? If so, you SHOULD NEVER TURN IT OFF WHILE APPS ARE DOWNLOADING!!!!!!!! THEY DISAPPEAR AND SHOW UP AT SOME RANDOME TIME IN THE FUTURE!!!

i recently got the new iphone 5. I had backed up my iphone 4 before restoring the iphone 5 as my phone. everything synced up, but all my apps (aside from the apple apps) are gone. how do i fix this?

i transferred my back up thru itunes. but when i plug in my iphone 4 again, on the apps tab, when i click sync, it says that it will erase all apps that i have now and replace them with what i have. not sure if that is what i should do. but i clicked it.
Sync Apps should have been selected all along - from day one.
Selecting it after the fact - after apps were downloaded direct from the iPhone wiill cause all apps on the iPhone being erased.
With the iPhone connected, at the iTunes menu bar go to File and select Transfer Purchases From - the name of your iPhone 4.

The Safari and Camera apps are missing from my iPhone.

I had a problem with restoring my purchased apps on my iPhone. With help I was able to get them restored. However, now the original apps are missing - camera and safari. It's possible there are more, but I can't remember all those that were original with the phone.

I would check your other apps folders and see if it was misplaced in there. IF you still can't find it, then go to settings - general - reset - reset home screen layout.

IPod touch 3g apps are slow to download, and iOS update is running slow

You can try downloading the update directly:

To install:
Manually install it by holding your "Option" key down when clicking on the "Restore" button in iTunes and select the firmware file you downloaded.
Downloading the update for my iPod and iPad alway took hours total with many time-outs.

Thanks for using Apple Support Communities. The following is a past discussion that dealt with a similar issue of apps seemingly paused in "waiting" and may help:

Try tapping the App, so that it changes to Paused instead of Waiting, then tap it again to resume the install.
Make sure you don't have any paused downloads in other apps either, like the App Store or iTunes Store.
If that doesn't do it, try resetting or restoring the iPhone.

Itunes can not sync apps with the iphone [name], because it can not determine which apps are installed on the iphone.

After installing the latest Version of iTunes (10.5.1.42) on my Windows XPs PC it's not possible to sync my iPhone 3GS (not iOS 5!) any more - I get the error message above. It's possible to download music, apps, podcasts - but not possible to sync with my iPhone..
Any Ideas?

The network activity "spinner" will move to the other side of the time if there is not much visible space on the left-hand side. When network name is long and there are other symbols on that left side like a VPN and such.
Are you connected to Wifi?
Have you rebooted your phone?

I need to de-install Foxfire 6 and go back to Foxfire 5 on my Mac to run a picky program that won't run under Foxfire 6. I can't get install software for version 5 to run. It sees it as exe file.

When I drag the downloaded Foxfire 5 install file to my Applications folder, it shows up as an .exe file. When I double click to run it, I get an error message saying it is not DOS executable.

In the exact same boat here. Life-long iPhone user. Got a 6 on Tuesday and absolutely hate it to the point where I dread using it. Upgraded from an iPhone 4 I'd had for 4+ years. After making several phone calls, my understanding is that Apple will take it back no problem, within 14 days. My iPhone 4 was out of contract with AT&T but when I bought the 6, I renewed my previous contract for 2 years. My AT&T contract also has a 14 days, cancel for any reason with no early termination fee, clause. I assume your AT&T contract would have the same. But I don't think you need to worry about canceling your contract. Since you still have your iPhone 5, you should be able to bring it to the AT&T store, have them switch the existing contract from the 6 to your old 5 and then you can go return the 6 to the Apple store where you bought it. That's no different than being halfway through a two year contract, your phone is stolen and you have to buy a new one at retail price to replace it on your existing contract. You're essentially just bringing your own device you already paid for (the 5) to the existing AT&T plan.
I would just caution that assuming you want to keep your phone number, get the service put back on your 5 at AT&T and have them deactivate the 6 before you go return the 6. Or just make sure the Apple store is capable of transferring the service from the 6 back to the 5 while you're there to do the 6 return.

Me and the rest of my family share an Apple ID account. I have automatic music downloads and "show all music" turned off, because I dont want their music and stupid apps. The other day I went on the itunes Purchases section on my phone because I was curious as to what my sister was listening to. I saw my brother had downloaded Hot for Teacher by Van Halen, which was weird because I had that song already. I listened to from the itunes app to see if it was different somehow and it wasnt.
Then a few days later I was looking through my music and saw that I had two copies of that song. The album cover of his version was different, so I went to delete it.
AND I COULDNT.
i tried to slide the song to delete it as I had done to many of my songs, but it didnt respond to the slide. I NEVER EVEN DOWNLOADED THE SONG. I just listened to it once. Now that song and all of my sisters songs i listened to are on my phone and I CANT DELETE THEM.
I thought "okay, these songs arent on my laptop, so Ill just sync my iphone and theyll be gone."
NOPE.
itunes didnt even acknowledge that these songs existed on my phone. My computer cant interact with them at all. It was only like 7 songs so I didnt really care. but wait, the story gets better.
Im a big pokemon fan. I recently downloaded the Pokemon X and Y soundtrack they released, which if you dont know, if OVER 200 TRACKS. I also downloaded another soundtrack that was ANOTHER 100.
My brother had the "show all music" option on, so he saw all these 300+ songs in his music, with little cloud download symbols next to them. I messaged him and told him to turn show all music off so that he wouldnt accidentally download them. he did that. But hes a pokemon fan too, though not as big as me, so he wanted to have a few of the songs.
He downloaded 2 or 3 of the songs off of itunes purchases section on his iphone, and for some reason IT DOWNLOADED THE WHOLE OF BOTH ALBUMS. So my brother suddenly had 300+ songs on his phone that he did not want, and COUND NOT delete.
I could not figure out how to get them off no matter what I did, and in the end, he had to choose the "erase all music" option from settings to clear his phone and then sync it again. He hasnt synced his phone in a while, so He ended up losing a bunch of songs he actually wanted.
Now my mother has all these songs on her phone with the same scenario. there has to be some way to delete these songs without deleting every **** song on the phone. and there has to be some way to listen to songs on the could without having to permanently burn them onto my phones memory. please someone help me out here.

why you don't sync with itunes (on mac or pc) with deleting all at first? turn off syncing music, apply, then turn it on again
