Where do I get Leopard 10.5?
Hi,
I just bought a Powerbook G4 on Ebay and it seems to be working fine - however I need to upgrade to Leopard 10.5 and can't seem to find it. Anyone have any suggestions or have one I can buy?
Any help is much appreciated.
PS I am in Melbourne Australia
Welcome to the Apple discussions.
Call the Australian Apple Store at 133-162 (this is the number on the Australian Apple Store web site, don't call your local Melbourne Apple store) and ask if they still have Leopard 10.5 new or upgrades available for sale. In the US, they still have them for sale thru the Apple toll-free number, so it's worth a try there.

Where can I get leopard for my imac G5?
I would like to use Time Capsule for my G5, but was told I have to upgrade to Leopard. Where can I get one that is tailored for the imac? Apple Store doesn't sell it.
Contrary to most opinions, you can get it from Apple Store's *phone sales*, 1-800-MY-APPLE (1-800-692-7753), for $129 USD. Alternatively, Customer Service and Sales Support at 1-800-676-2775.

Where can I get Leopard if I have Tiger?
Hello,
Just got myself a new Mac. First one ever.
I have Mac OS X 10.4.10 pre-installed and the center I purchased my Mac said I can get on apple.com and get the new OS (Leopard) for 85kr (Im in Sweden btw). Is this true? I checked online and I wasn't able to find where. Could I also buy it at a Mac reseller store for a cheaper price or do I have to pay the full fee for the new OS?
Any help would be appreciated.
Thanks! The Apple Up-to-Date program enables people who purchased a Mac after October 1, 2007, to upgrade to Leopard for just the cost of shipping the Leopard disc. You can find the Swedish version of this page at http://www.apple.com/se/macosx/uptodate/
Hope that helps -
Does anyone know where I can get Leopard from?
Apple don't sell it anymore and I can't upgrade to anything until I have it installed. Any help would be hugely appreciated
If you want to upgrade to Snow Leopard (which is available from the Apple store) you do not need Leopard.

Leopard is no longer available at the Apple Store but may be available by calling Apple Phone Sales @ 1-800-MY-APPLE (1-800-692-7753).
If you can't obtain a retail install DVD from Apple, look on eBay or Google the installer part numbers to possibly find at an on-line store. Here's what to look for:
MB427Z/A Leopard 10.5.1 install DVD
MB576Z/A Leopard 10.5.4 install DVD
MB021Z/A Leopard 10.5.6 install DVD (single user)

The DVD should look like this

My Snow Leopard 10.6.3 has Safari 4.0.4 but this cannot be used for the new features of iTunes. I tried upgrading to Safari 5.1.7 but it needs Snow Leopard 10.6.8. Where can I get a version of Safari 5.1 that is compatible with Snow Leopard 10.6.3?
Hi..

Not possible. You need to update to v10.6.8
Click your Apple menu > Software Update

Does anyone know what is the best version of word I can have on my older mac mini 10.5.8 PPC? I am running Leopard. Does anyone have it or know where I can get it please?
I agree with Grant. But to answer your question, that would be Word 2008. A quick search turns it up on sale at Amazon. You'll need to find it somewhere other than Microsoft itself, since MS stopped selling it when they released Word 2011.

Where do you get jnlp.jar for Mac Leopard 10.5.5
Hello,
I am trying to use Persistence in JNLP on a Mac 10.5.5 with either 1.5 or 1.6. I have searched
my local disk the Mac developer web site and this website for "jnlp java Mac Leopard" no useful results.
Where can I get a jnlp.jar file that works on a Mac?
RinaldoI was able to get the question answered on the mailto:[email protected] list.
My friend http://www.google.com/search?q=jnlp.jar+mac+java&ie=utf-8&oe=utf-8&aq=t answered it.
Greg also provided some very useful information, especially the mdfind javaws.jar command
http://lists.apple.com/archives/Java-dev/2008/Nov/msg00052.html
I see that in JDK 1.5, javaws.jar is included. For now I will assume that the javaws.jar classes have been moved to javaws.jar
jar tvf ./Library/Frameworks/JavaVM.framework/Versions/1.6.0/Home/lib/javaws.jar | grep jnlp

Where can I get a version of Aperture compatible with Snow Leopard?
I have Snow Leopard (10.6) on my iMAC and I did not upgrade to Lion as it is good enough for what I do with my iMAC.
Unfortunately, the Aperture version available in the App Store recommends MAC OS 1.7 or later.
Is there a previous version of Aperture, which is compatible with Snow Leopard (10.6), still available?
If so, where can I get it?
Thank you in advance to the Apple community.
PhilippeAs keith alluded to if you stay with SL and get a version of Aperture that runs on it you will be locked into that. There will be no more updates for Aperture or the Raw Camera bundle.
So if that version of Aperture supports your camera and you have no plans to change cameras to something that is not supported in that version then you will be fine.
If you think you might be getting a new camera at some point then you might just want to bit the bullet and do the upgrades now.

Where can I get 1 OS 10.5 Leopard? I have an iMac G5 ppc.
I am trying to find out where I can get OS 10.5 Leopard. I'm currently running 10.4.11 on an iMac G5 ppc I've had since July 2005. Looks like Leopard is as high as I can go on this machine.
You could try Apple, but I don't think they have it any more. If you are in te US, try eBay, but make sure that you get the retail version, which is black with a big X on its face. Do not buy the grey disks, they are machine specific and will not work.

Hi Other Users, can someone please advise me where i can get a Leopard download for my Power Pc G5?
eBay is another source for Mac OS X Leopard 10.5; however be sure to ONLY purchase the retail disk shown below and not a grey computer specific disc:

where do I get snow leopard 10.6.0... Can't find it in the standard downloads?
Start by checking if you can run Snow Leopard:
Requirements for OS X 10.6 'Snow Leopard'
http://support.apple.com/kb/SP575
Whilst Apple have withdrawn Snow Leopard from their stores, you can still get it from Apple by calling 1-800-MY-APPLE (if you are in the USA) and they will supply the SL DVD for $20 for a single user, or $30 for a family pack that covers up to 5 Macs. You can also purchase the code to use to download Lion from the same number (Lion requires an Intel-based Mac with a Core 2 Duo, i3, i5, i7 or Xeon processor and 2GB of RAM, running the latest version of Snow Leopard), or you can purchase Mountain Lion from the App Store - if you can run that:
http://www.apple.com/osx/specs/
If you are outside the US call your national Apple Helpline:
http://support.apple.com/kb/HE57
If you're in the UK, use this number: 0871 508 4400
When you have installed it, run Software Update to download and install the latest updates for Snow Leopard.
To use iCloud you have to upgrade all the way to Mountain Lion:

Using v10.5.8 Where can I get v10.6 Snow Leopard?
I'm currently using Mac OSX 10.5.8 and want to upgrdae to Mountain Lion but need Snow leopard first.
Can anyone tell me where I can get Snow leopard from? Before you buy anything, first make sure your Mac is compatible.
Minimum specs for Snow Leopard. Mac OS X v10.6 Snow Leopard - Read the Technical Specifications
Once you've upgraded you will need to apply the Combo updater for Snow Leopard. Mac OS X 10.6.8 Update Combo v1.1
Remember to repair permissions both before and after each upgrade /update
You can no longer buy Snow Leopard from Apple retail, only as follows. If you are in North America ...
Buying Snow leopard from Apple. Last I read, you must call them (1-800-MY-APPLE). It is $29 plus tax for family pack and $19 plus tax for a single.
Based in Europe or otherwise call your National Apple Helpline … http://support.apple.com/kb/HE57
You should also check the minimum specs for Mountain Lion. Apple - OS X Mountain Lion Read the technical specifications.
