Where do i go to change my firefox level settings?

I have an old Mac and want to optimize it but haven't the knowledge, have a mac ox s 10.4.11,no money to put in want to eliminate not necc. cookies,and when I push on Firefox icon, nothing happens, can anyone help, not that savvy.

The last Firefox version that runs on Mac OS X 10.4 is Firefox 3.6.28.
Current Firefox versions require a Mac with an Intel processor and OS X 10.6 (Firefox 16 runs on Intel Mac OS X 10.5).

You would have to get a computer with an Intel processor if you want to be able to install current Firefox releases.
For an unofficial Firefox 17.0.10 ESR compatible version that runs on a PowerPC Mac with OS X 10.4.11 or OS X 10.5.8 you can look at TenFourFox.

Unable To Change Security/Privacy Level Settings

I have a MacBook Pro running 10.5.1 (ran the latest updates). When I launch iChat 4.0, I can't add buddies, I can't show status in the menu bar nor (and the most important), I can't set my Security Privacy level. My entire Security window has every selection grayed out. None of the Privacy Level radio buttons are selected which means I can't see any of my buddies online. My buddies are listed and it shows my account available but that's it. I've already deleted all the apple.ichat prefs, rebooted (and relaunched) and tried changing the settings both logged in and off. Help! I need a fix please. Thanks.

I have a theory.
I have no hard evidence.
But....
The firewall in 10.5 was reported as not working properly and if Set to Specific apps was in fact Allowing All
Now you are updated to 10.5.1
I have a suspicion that if left at the 10.5 setting the firewall is not properly updated.
Your symptoms suggest you are not logged into AIM fully/properly as the Security tab is only active when you are logged in.
I would do the following.
Use the Logout of AIM item in the iChat Menu list.
Quit iChat as this tends to rebuild the iChat .plists on closing.
I would go to the Mac Firewall and set it to Allow All (if different)
I would then Set it to All Specific and restart iChat.
If this fails remove iChatAgent from the allow list and Quit iChat and restart it which should put iChatAgent back in the firewall list.
If this does not work I would delete all apps from the Mac Firewall - set it to Allow All and then back again and add iChat and allow it to add iChatAgent.
If this still fails I would then delete the com.apple.ichat.AIM.plist that hold the AIM login as there is still the possibility it is corrupt but may need the firewall sorted first.
Summary.
I am suggesting it is a set of circumstances that may need a specific approach to sort and are asking you to test this out.
In essence this is to reset the firewall and possibly delete the .plist involved.

Where do I access proxy configuration for Firefox 3.6 on a Mac OS?

Before I updated to Firefox 3.6.13 I had my proxy manually configured. It seems the update erased my configuration, and now I cannot even find where to update the proxy. I am using a Mac OS. I've found this solution to change my proxy "Tools > Options > Advanced > Network > Settings" , however, when I go to "Tools", "option" is no longer an option.
Tools only has "web search" "add ons" "personas" "downloads" "error console" "page info" "start private browsing" "clear recent history".
Any information on how to find my proxy to change the setting would be great. Thanks

Where is the equivelant of favourites in firefox versus IE

I am new to firefox, always used IE. Question, where is the equivelant of favourites bar in firefox, is it called something different. I changed to firefox because of several problems with IE9.

In Firefox, they are called Bookmarks. There is a Bookmarks menu, a Bookmarks sidebar, and a Bookmarks toolbar. If you tap the Alt key to display the classic menu bar, you can display/hide the sidebar and the toolbar from the full View menu.

Where is the page listing changes in 3.6.x updates?

There used to be a link in the "Firefox Updated" page that would take you to the page where the latest sub-versions changes were listed. Why can't I find it anymore?

How do i customize Location bar so it also brings up bookmark results where the title was manually changed by me?

I added some bookmarks where I added more descriptive words to the title. Later when I type those descriptive words in the location bar the bookmarks don't show up. I even tried using the on-demand filtering command in location bar - meaning when you type "#" followed by words that you want firefox to match in the bookmark title, it will show up all the bookmark entries that have words matching in the bookmark title. That didn't work either! How do i customize Location bar so it also brings up bookmark results where the title was manually changed by me?

Check that the Bookmarks Toolbar is visible and that the "Bookmarks Toolbar items" is still placed on the Bookmarks Toolbar.
If the menu bar is hidden then press F10 or hold down the Alt key, that should make the "Menu Bar" appear.
Make sure that toolbars like the "Navigation Toolbar" and the "Bookmarks Toolbar" are visible: "View > Toolbars"
* Open the Customize window via "View > Toolbars > Customize" or via "Firefox > Options > Toolbar Layout" (Linux, Windows)
* Check that the "Bookmarks Toolbar items" is on the Bookmarks Toolbar
* If the "Bookmarks Toolbar items" is not on the Bookmarks Toolbar then drag it back from the toolbar palette in the customize window to the Bookmarks Toolbar
* If you do not see the "Bookmarks Toolbar items" or other items that are missing in the toolbar palette or on a toolbar then click the "Restore Default Set" button

Are all 'maintenance programs' compatible with Firefox? I'd like to install one, but don't want to use one that will change my Firefox settings.

I actually want to use a different user interface language. I was able to install the spell-checkers and dictionaries previously, but I didn't know what to do with the UI language. I checked the links you kindly provided but apparently, the downloadable language packs are not compatible with Firefox 31, which they set up in my office. Is there any way to force the install?
I also checked out the locale switcher but since the language pack extension is not compatible with firefox 31... If you have time to spare, I would be very interested in finding out more about your desktop shortcut solution.
I use a mac at home, and language-wise it's so much better. My own profile is completely in English whereas my wife is in French, which simplifies things (I just made sure to tell her to use safari if she wants to browse in French!)
One solution I used in the past was to reinstall firefox in English, but I have to do that every time the IT guys update FF, and then, you don't want to stand out if you want to remain in their good graces.

I select the option "Allow multiple values to be selected from lookup table"
When I used this "Custom Field" in a view, the selected values are separated by a comma ",".
Where it is possible to change this value?
I saw another project server where the character is a semi-column ";" and I would like to test with ";".

Yes, you got it. there is no way to change - just delete. Usually there is no loss, but photostream is reset, so make sure to back up your pictures before you do.

How do I stop firefox from sending a message or note that " do I want this program to change my computer?" It changes some of the settings in my computer; like the color of my task bar changed and other settings too.

Before nothing happened until just recently when box messages would appear and tell me to click "yes or no" if I want the program to change my laptop. I clicked "No", but sometimes it didn't work, and when it didn't work. When it failed, fire fox changed some of the settings in my laptop. For example, the task bar's color would be changed. Also, it seemed as if fire fox had changed some of the settings into an old version. Yesterday I restarted my laptop, and it just went back to normal like nothing happened. But, for a few minutes later, the box will appear and you have to click yes or no. I clicked the "x" button, and it just changed automatically.

Check that you do not run Firefox as Administrator. 
Right-click the Firefox desktop shortcut and choose "Properties". 
In the Compatibility tab, make sure that Privilege Level: "Run this program as Administrator" is not selected. 
You also need to check the Properties of the firefox.exe program in the Firefox program directory.
