Where do I go to clear my CACHE?

I like to clear my cache on occasion...since upgrading to the Mountain Lion, I cant seem to find the drop-down for it, has it moved?

Since the old ‘Empty Cache…’ item has gone missing in the main menu in Safari 6.0, you might be thinking this function has been removed. Actually, its still there, but is somewhat hidden.
Go to
Safari > Preferences > Advanced
and check the Show Develop menu in menubar button at the bottom.
In Safari’s menu bar, choose Develop > Empty Caches.
Alternatively, you can just use the keyboard shortcu

When I publish my site on one specific page where I've added {tag_pagecontent} I get the error:
'Some files on the server may be missing or incorrect. Clear browser cache and try again. If the problem persists please contact website author.'
I'm trying to get a blog module going, I've even deleted the html insert bog with the tag in and re-published which then I don't get the error but as a result no blog either. But then I add the tag in again and publish the error comes back. I've used the dev console and it says that my musicians sample.css is out of date but why is it only out of date when I add in html to my muse site?
HELP!!!! I've searched other threads and to no avail I'm publishing so no direct ftp going on. the only thing I changed in business catalyst was the module stylesheet in order to style the blog. I've tried uploading and replacing all files nothing seems to work. the site is here:
    http://www.musicstudentsforhire.co.uk/musicians-samples.html
It's only this page as it has the blog on. Also I've noticed when I've re-published occasionally it will show the mobile version on my desktop and not the desktop version??? no idea why that's happening so I've had to turn that off. any explanation on why that is happening would also be much appreciated.

I haven't received an answer as of yet, I'll post t on here when I do. I de-activated the mobile site because it's my clients site so he needs it to be operational during the day. I hope someone gives me an answer soon.

Thanks!! For a rapid reply to my question.
Your Mozilla Support Team might consider putting the answer to my question in an obvious place on line as this "clearing the cache" is not harmful to you operating system, but it's good to do this once in a while. I've bookmarked the page for expediency.

  • How do I clear the cache in my MacBook Pro 10.9 Maverick

How do I clear the cache in my MacBook Pro 10.9 Maverick operating system? Can anyone provide step-by-step instructions. I'm a big dummy when it comes to this sort of thing.

    Hey DrSteveMc,
Thanks for the question. The following resource outlines where the cache folder is stored. Note that the Library folder is hidden by default in OS X Mavericks. To access this folder, hold down option when clicking the Go menu in Finder:
OS X Mavericks: What is the Library folder?
    http://support.apple.com/kb/PH14330
Mac OS X: How to troubleshoot a software issue
    http://support.apple.com/kb/ht1199
If the issue does not appear to be related to preferences, a login item, or a kext file, and still persists in Safe Mode, there may be an issue with a cache file in your home folder:
    1. From the Finder's Go menu, choose Home.
    2. Open the Library folder.
    3. Drag the Caches folder to the desktop.
    4. Attempt to reproduce the issue.
    5. If issue is resolved, drag the Caches folder to the Trash.
    6. If issue persists, from the Finder's Go menu, choose Go To Folder.
    7. Go to this folder: /Library
    8. Drag the Caches folder to the desktop.
    9. Attempt to reproduce the issue.
    10. If issue is resolved, drag the Caches folder to the Trash.
    11. If issue persists, go to step 4.
    Thanks,

  • How to clear items / cache in Apex 4.2

Can someone explain how clearing cache or session state processes are supposed to work in Apex 4.2?
I have an application that allows the user to look up records by last name or by social security number
A look up by SSN is one to one and takes the user to a detail page
A look up by NAME displays a list of names where the user can select a user and display the same detail page
The problem is that the application retains the social security number from one look up to the next. So it keeps displaying the same record
even if you enter or select a different SSN.
I've tried creating session state processes to either clear specific items or clear the cache on a page, but nothing seems to work.
Maybe the problem is that I'm not understanding the options for creating these; it says things like  on load before headers, on load after headers, on submit before calculations, after calculations, etc
The application is read only.  Logically to me, if you are linking from one page to another you need to save the value in the item  but if you are doing a  new search you need to clear it
So I thought that on the detail page I should clear the items, or clear the cache on the page after submitting
But can't get this to work

    heres an example
Page 1 has items P1_SSN and P1_NAME  as well as hidden items P1_TEXT and P1_TEXT2
The button affiliated with p1_NAME takes the user to page 2 that displaces a list of match names. it has a link which goes to page 3 where P3_SSN matches #SSN#
The button affiliated with p1_SSN takes the user directly to page 3 where p3_SSN matches #SSN#
If I log in and search by SSN first, when I get to page 3 I have the correct record
If I look up by name , I get the list and select a record by SSN I still have the correct record
then I go back to Page 1 and search by SSN, entering a new SSN. I always get what ever record I previously pulled up when searching by name and selecting from the list
On Page 1 , I have a process that says on load before regions clear items and I list all the items
Similarly  on page 3 I have a process after submit and calculations that clears the items
When creating these processes it asks to list the items, separated by comma. The only place to enter PL/SQL is under conditions, this is not conditional on anything, it should always clear the cache.
I use this same logic on different pages in the same application - different tables but same flow. It works there. I don't see why it doesn't work here

  • Clear iPad Cache of Shared Library

Does anyone know how to clear the cache of iTunes Home Sharing on the iPad? I'm making changes to the sorting of my shared TV Shows and I cannot get the ipad to show my changes. The only way I can figure out is if I restore the device and then connect to home sharing. I've tried restarting the device, the pc, clearing cache content from itunes folder... No luck. Any ideas? Shouldn't iTunes have a clear cache button that tells the devices to re-download all the info about the files?

I just got off a 40min chat with Apple support and they fixed it.  So try the following if you are having the same issues:
    1. Close down the Videos app in your ipad
    2. go to ipad Settings / Videos, select Home Sharing email and signout
    3. go to shared library (mine was on my mac) and close down itunes completely then reopen
    4. go to ipad Settings / Videos and sign into Home Sharing
After I did this and reopened the Video app the shared libraries where all in order.

  • Clear application cache

    Hello all,
I know how to clear Safari's History, Cookies, and Cache in Settings.
My question is: *How do you clear cache from applications*.
    Based on this article:
    +http://www.storefrontbacktalk.com/securityfraud/iphone-payment-peril-mobile-mayh em-omen/+
I know the iPhone stores information typed into applications for up to one year. This could include credit card and other sensitive info. How do you clear the cache of applications?
    Thanks in advance,
    Ben

    You're welcome.
Even if this were true - the password for an account that is checked/confirmed on a server and not saved with the app is being stored in the app's cache which I don't believe is true, how would someone be able to access the app's cache on your iPhone? Do you use the passcode lock feature?
If your iPhone were lost or stolen, someone would need to know what they are doing to be able to access an app's cache, and I seriously doubt many would waste their time trying to do. The overwhelming majority of dishonest folks will be more interested in using the iPhone or selling it to someone else for profit.
The iPhone makes use of what is called "sandboxing" with all 3rd party apps. All data created and stored by a 3rd party app is sandboxed in its own area on the device which no other apps have access to. All data created and stored by a 3rd party app is included with your iPhone's backup, which is updated by iTunes as the first step during the iTunes sync process. If you want to clear an app's cache, delete the app from your iPhone followed by syncing your iPhone with iTunes to update your iPhone's backup. Follow this by re-installing the app but you will need to re-enter the account's user name and password if needed and be right back where you started. There is no option to do this from the iPhone that I'm aware of and I think your effort to address this will provide you very little if any gain. Use the passcode lock feature on your iPhone to nothing can be accessed on your iPhone in the event your iPhone is lost or stolen.

  • Clear Metadata Cache

I had an error that I have listed below and had to clear the metadata cache to fix it.  I do not have the metadata cache activated under user option so I am not sure why I had to clear the cache to get things working.  Can someone explain why I had to do this and where the metadata cache is located?
    Error:

    Hello Jeroen,
There is no other possibility. If you adjusted and reimported a RFC model, you need to restart the J2EE server.

  • Need to clear Java cache programmatically - WinXP

    Gurus,
I need a script, preferably vbs, to clear the cache on Java 1.6.0 at login.
    Many thanks,
    Harry

This isn't really a Java question. Find out where your Java temporary files are kept; this site shows how to do that: http://www.java.com/en/download/help/5000020300.xml
Then, pick your favorite script and delete the temporary files there when you login, be it something like vbs or a simple .bat.

  • I am a Flash developer. When I change a Flash file (SWF) and try to test it, Firefox displays the previous version even though I have cleared the cache. Clearing the cache obviously doesn't clear everything. Why?

I developed a Flash file (SWF) with a light blue start button, placed it on a web server then went to the URL using Firefox (3.6.8). Later I updated the SWF (changed the button to dark blue), replaced the SWF on the web server, opened Firefox and used Tools/Clear Recent History... to clear the cache. Then when I went to the URL to test the replaced SWF it clearly opened the previous version (light blue button). How can that happen if the previous version no longer exists on the web server? Firefox can only be opening the file from its cache, so why is the file still there if I just cleared the cache?

    Your not alone!
I had the identical issue with iPhone config Utility on windows 7 64bit.
A virtual macOS on the same machine didn't have a problem, windows iTunes didnt have a problem. Just a glitch with ICU on windows
I tried everything you did and the only thing that fixed it was to change the appID or app name (I forget which I did).
I don't know where that old app data is stored on the machine, but I deleted all apps, uninstalled/reinstalled ICU and it still would populate and install the old ipa.
I also still periodically get weird errors/glitches deploying to iOS on windows.
It's like some days I need to deploy with ICU, sometimes iTunes, sometimes I need to run the VM mac... SOO frustrating.
It always works one way or another, so the app itself is always fine.
I guess I really need to look into that new direct deployment option...

  • How to clear Applet cache in IE?

Though the applet files is updated and compiled. The new class file is there, but the browser keeps bringing up the old version. Anyway to clear the cache instantly?
    thanks,

    Hi lili3000
In ur windows (Provided u r using windows machine)folder u will find a sub folder called javaplugin1.3 where u will find one more folder with name jar.
In my m/c the path is like
    C:\Windows\javaplugin1.3\jar
This is the folder where ur jar file gets downloaded by the browser. So delete all the file from that folder, then only the effect in ur applet will take place.
Hope this will work 4 u.

  • Safe Practice for Clearing Project Cache in Cap v.5

Does anyone have a documented safe practice for clearing the Project Cache for Captivate v.5 projects?  Adobe has a fix for clearing cache for multiple projects in one step, but I'm wondering when is the best time to clear cache for a project.  My concern is clearing the project cache and then not being able to recover the project if the file get's corrupt (which is the original purpose for the cache in the first place).
I've already done this once where I cleared the project cache and then couldn't open the file, then I didn't have the cached project available to recover the project.  Now I'm understandably a little gun-shy when using the Clear Cache option, but the alternative is to deal with a large amount of my computer storage being used for a bunch of files that I probably don't need.
If anyone has the recommended list of steps and in the correct order, I'd really appreciate it.

I don't know that there is any "documented safe practice" for when to clear the cache, but if you have Cp5 set to create backup files as well, even if you DO clear your cache, you should be able to recreate your project by renaming the backup file.
I've been using Cp5 every day since it was in Alpha and I've only ever needed to restore a project from cache once.  In that case, my PC crashed while Cp was open and corrupted a project file.  But Captivate 5 has crashed plenty of times over the past year for one reason or another and yet I've never lost any more than a couple of hours work at worst.
You are most likely to need this project restore feature if you've made the classic error of working from files stored on a network drive instead of your own hard drive.  If you only work from hard drive, install all the latest patches, keep your drivers and OS up to date, turn on the Cp backup file option, plus keep backups of all project files outside your PC, this is all the documented safe practice you need.
Clearing the cache seems to solve quite a few otherwise baffling Cp issues.  I think you are more at risk by keeping the cache full than by clearing it.
