Where do I go to find website space with BT?

Hi,
I have just moved to BT Infinity from an ISP that provided an ftp server for web space. Can anyone tell me where I go to find out about setting the sites up again on a BT related server?
Thanks,
Stuart

Hi Stuart.
It's a little known fact that there is still a webspace allowance. Although it was "dropped" a few years ago for new users, I worked out that it was still actually available. You can use any of your email addresses as the webspace, so if you don't want to use a primary - you can add a sub account and use that, but you will need to use the URL change tool as listed on my shortcuts option 10 item [e].
It's only a fairly basic offering, with no frills, but is a starting place.

    Open any folder on it and choose Show Status Bar from the Finder’s View menu.
    Alternatively, choose Computer from the Go menu, control-click the drive, and choose Get Info.

  • Find available space in buffer cache

    Hi.
    I want to find available space from buffer cache. First thought was to make it 8i-9i comp, by not using v$bh to calculate sum of memory and available space.
    I have the following pl/sql block to calculate the values:
    declare
    num_free_blck integer;
    num_all_blck integer;
    num_used_blck integer;
    overal_cache number := 0;
    used_cache number := 0;
    free_cache number := 0;
    blck_size integer;
    pct_free number := 0;
    begin
    select count(1) into num_free_blck from v$bh where status='free';
    select count(1) into num_all_blck from v$bh;
    select count(1) into num_used_blck from v$bh where status <> 'free';
    select value into blck_size from v$parameter where name ='db_block_size';
    used_cache := (blck_size * num_used_blck)/(1024*1024);
    free_cache := (blck_size * num_free_blck)/(1024*1024);
    overal_cache := (blck_size * num_all_blck)/(1024*1024);
    pct_free := ((free_cache/overal_cache)*100);
    dbms_output.put_line('There are '||num_free_blck||' free blocks in buffer cache');
    dbms_output.put_line('There are '||num_used_blck||' used block in buffer cache');
    dbms_output.put_line('There are totally '||num_all_blck||' blocks in buffer cache');
    dbms_output.put_line('Overall cache size is '||to_char(overal_cache,'999.9')|| 'mb');

    dbms_output.put_line('Percent free db_cache is '||to_char(pct_free,'99.9')||' %');

    The result of the execution is:

    Provided the OP figures out that xx_bh is probably a view defined by sys on top of x$bh this will get him the number of free buffers - which may be what he wants - but apart from that your query is at least 10 years short of complete, and the decode() of state 3 is definitley wrong.
    The decode of x$bh.state for 10g is:
         decode(state,

              8,'pi',
              9,'memory',
              10,'mwrite',
              11,'donated'
         ), and for 11g it is:
         decode(state,
               0, 'free',
               1, 'xcur',
               2, 'scur',

  • I saturated all the available iPad (3rd. generation) screen space (home screens or desktop space) with apps, and the apps that got bumped out of the last screen, mysteriously disappeared? Where are those missing quick lauch app icons?

    Running my 3rd generation iPad on iOS 7.0.4, I saturated all the available iPad screen space (which would be the 15 home screens or desktop worth of space) with apps, and the apps that got bumped out of the last screen space mysteriously disappeared. Where are those missing quick lauch app icons now? The apps are still installed and can be searched/accessed through the finder, but they no longer have a user friendly access. How can I solve this problem?

    Like I said, I was aware it was possible to access the apps through the finder, but the question revolved around how to recover the quick launch app icons for certain vanished apps.

    Firefox 3.6.10 in Ubuntu 10.04 recently became very slow and often doesn't find websites, especially those in My Yahoo, whereas Chromium works fine. When searching for a website, a dialog finally pops up saying "Server not found" "Firefox can't find server at finance.yahoo.com" When searching for, say, M&T Bank, Firefox says "looking up dnssearch.rr.com" My Internet Service Provider" is Time Warner's Road Runner. I followed the directions for Firefox not finding some websites by changing my connection setting to "no proxy", by disabling IPv6 and DNS prefetching to no avail. I uninstalled Firefox and then re-installed it - no change. I went to Tools > clear recent history, but the latter was shaded and unclickable.

    You can try "Reset all user preferences to Firefox defaults" on the [[Safe mode]] start window.
    Start Firefox in [[Safe Mode]] to check if one of your add-ons is causing your problem (switch to the DEFAULT theme: Tools > Add-ons > Themes).<br />
    See [[Troubleshooting extensions and themes]] and [[Troubleshooting plugins]]
    Create a new profile as a test to check if your current profile is causing the problems.<br />
    See [[Basic Troubleshooting#Make_a_new_profile|Basic Troubleshooting&#58; Make a new profile]]
    If that new profile works then you can transfer some files from the old profile to that new profile (be careful not to copy corrupted files)

  • Issue while finding disk space using df -k . , df -g . & statvfs API

    Hi,
    To find disk space:
    If I use df -k . command to find available space, it gives
    6927549 available space
    Where as if I use df -g . command it gives
    13855098 avaliable space which is exactly double of above (6927549 * 2) available space.
    Also, I have used statvfs API to get free disk space and it is giving as,
    f_bavail= 6927493 ----- which is equivalent to df -k . command's disk space.
    f_bsize = 8192
    f_frsize= 1024
    f_blocks= 140918146
    f_bfree= 8336674
    f_files= 16959488
    f_ffree= 16325903
    f_fsid= 8388630
    f_basetype= ufs
    f_flag= 4
    f_namemax= 255
    So, my question is why it is getting doubled when I use df -g for current file system?

    Because df -g reports in 512 bytes blocks not in Kilobytes.
    You'll notice the man page says that specifying the -g option overrides the -k (report in Kb) option.
    Unfortunately for historical reasons all the internal interfaces like statvfs report things in blocks.

    Where do I go to find out how much memory I have left?

    Use the Settings app.
    Settings > General > Usage
    You should see how much storage space is used on your device and how much remains. It takes a little while for the apps section to update but that area will tell you how much storage is being used by each app. Tapping on the > next to an app will provide information on how much storage the app requires and how much is being used by data and files.

    Are you referring to the message that says your startup disk is full?  If so, you need to delete some files from the hard drive, or get a larger hard drive.  Moving some files to an external hard drive is a quick and easy solution.  Note that you should avoid the temptation to use various utilities to clean up your system or remove parts (like unused languages).  That will not free up much space and can easily result in damaging your system.

  • Query needed to find reclaimable space in db

    10.2.0.4
    Linux 4.
    Hi.
    On a test database I suspect there are a lot of objects that are not needed that are taking up valuable disk space. These may include tables that are backups of tables etc.
    Does anyone have a tested query to seek out these objects? They will have probably been named test, or backup, etc.
    Thanks in advance.

    Apparently you want to find candidate junk objects to discard. This is a quite specific subset of the overall issue of finding reclaimable space. In the overall issue a lot of attention should be paid to whether temporarily supressing some free space (due to massive deletions, for example) is worthwhile. In the subset you inquire about, if you can identify the junk it is almost certainly a win to discard it. Some shops have naming standards for objects not officially sanctioned in the production schema. My favorite is the prefix JUNK_<initials>_, so that all the objects can be found quickly with the wildcard on the efficient end of the query, as in:
    select owner,object_name,object_type
       from dba_objects
       where object_name like 'JUNK%'
       order by object_name;
    or
    select owner,object_name,object_type
       from dba_objects
       where object_name like 'JUNK_MWF%'
       order by object_name;Even just the naming convention makes it easy to identify candidate objects, and if you have rules about creating "JUNK" objects such as maintaining a log with expiration dates and purposes, then further inquiry is easy. Having the object's sponsor's initials at hand makes a personal interview possible if the log entries are not useful, and if an expiration date is provided you can simply use the log table as a list to control deleting discardable objects.
    In your case you are dealing with catching the horses after the stalls and barn door were left open. Up to now I've written more about closing the barn door for future efforts.
    For the cleanup, the similar query with the like predicate '%TEST' and other candidate name templates should suffice. Depending on how creative folks have been spelling TST and BCKUP, you may want to play with the regex functions. Just be sure to treat the generated list as a list of candidates. Depending on the length of the list you can then either generate the appropriate drop statement by type or simply type them into a file for review and execution. Sending out the list of objects to be deleted with a reasonable warning period is highly recommended, since having the ability to create unknown objects often implies sufficient rank to ignore organizational rules. Whether creating an individual object export prior to the drop will vary from site to site and by the size of the object to be dropped.
    Good luck,

    It would have saved to your camera roll.  Connect the phone to your Air via a USB cable and then run Image Capture which is located either in your Utilities folder or Other folder, depending on what version of Mac OS X your are running.  You will then see all the photos and videos stored on your iPhone and can then download them.

    Depending on which email client software you use
    the files should be in 'your home folder' library, esp.
    if you use Mail application.... ~/Library/Mail
    Since you don't specify what mail application,
    that would most be associated with the file.
    I notice there are some items to the right of your post
    where it says "more like this' so that may be worth a
    look to see if similar issues were answered. Also, the

    Seems that google also brings up fair information, too.
    Do you have a complete bootable clone of your entire
    Mac system on an externally enclosed hard disk drive?

    When I open a "new" project to create a logo, or whatever, It tells me that I am unable to do so cause my scratch disk is full.  As well, it will NOT allow me to specify a back up scratch on my external hard drive for whatever reason (probably cause it's USB 2.0), it doesn't even show as being listed when I go to choose the scratch.  Anyfrickingways, at this point, I'm just fed up, so what I'm wondering is this...  Where and how can I find my scratch disk so that I can delete some files?  I'm a newb, so any advice would be sincerely appreciated.  Thank you.
