I have an IPad II 3G, however I need a micro SIM Card and do not know where to obtain one. also I don't know why I need a SIM or What the Purpose is, other than storing my information! Please Help?

If you have a WiFi+cellular iPad, you need a sim card to access a cellular service provider, such as Verizon, AT&T, etc. The sim has the instructions and access information that the iPad needs to transmit to the cellular provider's network so you can activate your iPad on the network and communicate with the network.
You need to obtain the sim from the cellular provider. In some countries or with some providers, the micro-sim can be obtained at authorized retail stores and outlets.

Could be a simple question but I can't find the answer: I bought a factory-unlocked iPhone 4s (from Apple) for use while traveling abroad (mainly China). Hi, thanks for your answer. I just got off the phone trying to clarify this with AT&T. They tell me that they also have something called a "Go" card that I can get for my (factory-unlocked) iPhone that works without a plan. But, as you pointed out regarding the T-mobile card, it sounds as if I don't get full service on the iPhone. They told me that I won't be ablet to browse the web via the card, only when I'm connected via Wi Fi.
I am headed out to try to find a card today and will update this thread with any further discoveries.

What model is your iPad? (iPad, iPad 2 or New iPad). Did you get the AT&T or Verizon model? If you got the Verizon model, it doesn't have a SIM slot.

I have received a confirmation e-mail with the following information "ID number of this form submission on the EE website is 4884865 - this number may be helpful for technical support, but otherwise you can safely ignore this." This receipt of form submission was received on 14th July. Where did you get the phone? If it was hacked or jailbroken prior to the update, this is pretty typical. If that's the case, it's now a brick.

I wanted to clarify that Verizon has unlocked the phone for me before I left the US
The international sim cards that I have been able to locate in Norway are caled Mycall or Lebour.
They are labled mini-sim cards but do not fit nor are they as small as the original Verizon one.
I am out in the country-side now but will be in Bergen, Norway and Copenhagen, Denmark over the next few days.

Your phone already has a micro SIM card in the device so it can connect to the VZW network. You will need an international plan from VZW if you intend to use that SIM card. Otherwise you can get a new SIM card from the local carrier and setup the phone for global use with a separate APN with that carrier's specific information.

A mico SIM is just the standard SIM in a smaller form factoer. With care one can cut down a standare SIM to use in a device that uses a micro SIM as long as the SIM is compatible with the carrier. Google forinstructions for cutting down a card.
