Also in order not to pay a fortune for the service is it better to acquire if needed a SIM card only once there?
Check with your carrier about roaming charges.  They are usually prohibitive.  Best to get a local SIM.

  • HT5554 i purchased an iphone 4s (not from apple store) where do I get a sim card

I purchased an iphone 4s that came without a sim card. Where do I get a sim card?

    From your phone carrier.

  • Where do I get a nano SIM card for my iPad which works in the USA so I can use Tom Tom app

Where do I get a nano SIM card for my iPad which will work in the USA.  I need to get on line in the car. Do I need one from AT&T  and can you get in the USA as easily as getting a sin card here.

We don't know where "here" is.
You don't need a sim card to use any navigation app. Navigation apps use GPS which is independent of cellular data.

  • How do i get the nano sim card for my unlocked iphone 5c to work on verizon

I bought an iphone 5c from Apple last week, after my iphone 5 screen shattered.
I was told I could just insert the sim and follow the directions.  Turns out, that the one I purchased does not work with the phone/carrier.  Where can I get a nano sim card that will work in my iphone 5c on verizon network?

I did not get the ATT or T-mobile phone. I boutght the SIM-Free phone,  which says it requires a GSM Compatible SIM.  Does this mean I cannot use any verizon sim in the phone? Or any unlock code?
You bought the wrong model of iPhone. Return it and buy the model specifically for use with Verizon.
    Regards.

  • I bought an iphone6 T-Mobile Contract free from US. Can i gift it to my parents in India. Will a nano-SIM card with any Indian carrier work? Will my international warranty still be valid?

I bought an iphone6 T-Mobile Contract free from US. Can i gift it to my parents in India.?
Will a nano-SIM card with any Indian carrier work? They will have to just toss away the T-Mobile SIM and put in nano sim for any Indian carrier, right?
Will my international warranty still be valid? In case of any repairs/services, can that be done in India? Will these services be charged while the phone is in warranty period?

If the phone is purchased in the united states, warranty service will need to be provided in the united states.

  • Using Verizon 4G LTE phones with locally purchased foreign Sim cards overseas

Which Verizon global phones work overseas (from China to W. Europe to Russia) for voice, text AND DATA when using locally purchased international Sim cards?
I bought the Samsung III a few years ago after being assured by several Verizon staff that it was fully capable, but then discovered this was ONLY true for voice and SMS, not email.  Verizon blocked the APN access so no data plans worked.  The purchased international SIM cards would work on other SIIIs (as the Samsung store overseas demonstrated), just not Verizon's version. I even tried using an older unlocked, deactivated global Verizon Blackberry, but to the surprise of the RIM technicians in Canada, the local Sim card still tried to activate through Verizon and thus failed to work.
Now it is reported that Samsung is blocking global use based on the region where the phone was purchased. Does this mean if I buy a Verizon Note3 or S4 I cannot travel overseas and purchase a local Sim card and get data in addition to voice?  Is the same true for Apple?  What about other models?
    Is there a non-Verizon solution?
What is the best option for a global academic on a limited budget?
    Thanks!

        selin319,
We apologize for any confusion, but to answer your question all of our 4G devices come unlocked (for international use) from the manufacture. With that said, you can definitely purchase a local SIM card and insert to your device to use, however we cannot guarantee your service will work as it will not be registered to our network at that point.

  • IPad Air (wifi + cellular) WITHOUT nano sim card

Just recently bought an iPad Air (64 GB, wifi + cellular; A1475) on eBay, brand new, except that the seller removed the Verizon nano sim card.  My questions:
What possible reason(s) would the seller have for only removing/keeping the nano sim card from the iPad?
I assume I won't have any problems getting a new/replacement nano sim card from Verizon when/if I sign up for service with them, correct?
From what I've briefly researched online, it seems as if even though the iPad Air is supposedly specifically for use with Verizon, I can actually obtain/use nano sim cards and service from other cellular providers (AT&T, T-Mobile, Spring), correct?  (See also here.)
FYI:  The iPad Air truly was/is brand new.  Never activated, never used (absolutely spotless).
Thanks in advance for any information/advice!
    Joel

AFAIK, the iPads are not carrier-locked, so IFF you need to have carrier-based Internet connectivity and are willing to pony up the cost, you should be able to get the SIM from the carrier giving you the best deal and live happily ever after.
That being said, I have a Wi-Fi+Cell iPad 4 purchased directly from Apple which has never felt a SIM card in its innards. Bought it instead of the Wi-Fi-only model cause I wanted the full GPS capability. And between the office (BIG 1 Gbps pipe to the Internet on our LAN) or at home (much more modest ADSL wireless router), been quite happy ignoring the No SIM onscreen warning. When not at home or the office and iPad use becomes indispensable, I simply tether it to my iPhone 5's Personal Hotspot and its 4G pipe to the Internet. Will NOT pay twice for the same shît.

  • I'm interested in iPhone 5s Unlocked and contract-free T-Mobile. It will work in Russia, with Russian nano-SIM card GSM?

I'm interested in iPhone 5s Unlocked and contract-free T-Mobile. It will work in Russia, with Russian nano-SIM card GSM?

Depends on what you mean by "fully operational". As i"ve stated, the phone most likely will not support LTE where you live, & unless you're using a supported iPhone carrier, you'll have to fiddle with the APN settings.
But, an unlocked GSM iPhone will work with any GSM carrier.

  • Using my iphone4 (purchased in Canada) in the U.S.A- do i purchase a SIM card from AT

According to the Canadian Apple website
i'm trying to clarify the following
Can I use my iPhone outside my home country?
Yes. iPhone is enabled to work on carrier networks using GSM around the world. Because the iPhone sold by the Apple Online Store is commitment-free, you can purchase a SIM or micro-SIM card and service from a local carrier at your destination. Or check with your home carrier regarding international roaming charges.
Would i contact AT&T or Verizon to purchase a SIM Card?

Verizon is NOT a GSM network and does not use SIM cards at all.
Your GSM iphone will not work with Verizon's CDMA network at all.

Yes. You don't get phone service unless you have a SIM card from your carrier.

  • How to remove nano sim card from micro sim slot of Z3

I mistakenly put nano sim card in my new bb Z3 im unable to remove it plz help me out in this issue

You will have to be very careful. You may be able to use an exacto knife to remove the nano sim. However, it is highly likely you will, if you haven't already, damage the sim card reader. You may have to disassemble the device and even then sometimes it's not possible to remove it without damaging the sim card reader.
