Where do I report a scam asking me for money to help a stranded friend?
I received an email claiming to be a friend vacationing on a Greek Island and saying they lost their wallet and asking me for help. I know it wasn't from my friend and want to report this. Does Firefox have a place to automatically report spam or fraudulent use of email or the internet? When I used AOL.com I could do that.
Firefox does not provide email service, who is your email provider? The must have a report spam button or similar.

My ipad woke me up with an alarm sounding and when I opened the cover I needed to enter a pin. I don't lock my ipad with a pin so I entered a couple of numbers and then a message came up telling me that my ipad was reported stolen and that it had been hacked and I needed to pay $50 to have it unlocked. There was a phone number to call.
I searched this site and found how to unlock my device by connecting to my laptop, following the 'find my ipad' routine and resetting but my concern now is, how do I protect myself from this happening again. When I went through the "find my Ipad' feature you are asked to put in a phone number and write a message and what made me feel a bit uncomfortable was that the message that had been displayed by the hacker was already in the box where I was supposed to type mine.
I've restored everything and I will reset my apple ID but what other preventative measures can I take? I turned off the 'find my Ipad' feature as I wondered whether this was the way in for the hacker but I have no idea if that is sensible or not. My search on the internet has not come up with anyone else in this position alhough I'm sure I'm not the first person this has happened to.

StuartA user over in another forum has suggested it could be related to something in Australia and/or New Zealand, possibly an issue affecting certain internet service providers and not entirely being an issue with Apple.
Nearly everyone that has posted in the other thread is from one of those countries and I haven't seen anything news-wise that suggests the issue is cropping up elsewhere yet.
Hopefully things get resolved very soon.

How do you REPORT Phishing Scams sending personal messages in these Forums?
I've looked high and low, and I have no idea how to report a user. Nor how to report Personal Messages of the following nature:
I first realized it WASN'T actually a Staff member after I saw current forum status as a regular "member", then was further clued in by the "English" used in the message body.
Why isn't there "Report as SPAM" and "Report PHISHING SCAM" options in the mailbox? Once you have been here for a while they are likely easy to spot, but it's obvious they are targeting those who just barely set up their accounts and are receiving other mail in the inbox automatically from the server.
Not sure if this will just be deleted but here is the abuser's information:

Adobe Help & SupportWell, I did notice a report function, on "some" of the forum boards, as an available side bar tool. But I still have no idea where, or how, to report Personal Message Spam and Phishing scams..
As that is something that really bothers me, I guess I will move-on to other Forums and check back here from time to time to see if this has been addressed. -

First question - I have Acrobat 9 on my desktop and the license seems to have been messed up. I tried to download and fis but I asked me for a disk. I don't have any idea where the "disk" is. Can I get the license update without that disk?

i have macbook pro i got it from craiglist, when i was updating the oprating sestem its asking me for sestem unlocking pin? where can i get it from?
I would recommend wiping the system and reinstalling the OS for any used system. OS X does not have any "unlocking pin" of sorts so this may be from some third-party software on the system. The system does have a "firmware password" option that can be set to prevent booting to alternative boot environments (ie, external hard drives, safe mode, etc), but this will not prevent system updating.

When the system status says icloud is OK but logon reports "encountered an error when connecting to the server", where do you report the problem, or how do you connect?
Yes i am hoping staff here will look into things, even if i can not get the speeds back what i previously had for near 6 months it would be nice to know why i can not and why the download has dropped by around 10Mb and why my upload is now inconsistant.
Ironically the post concerned got edited because i actually posted the full rather silly reply the Indian call centre made babbling on about down rates rather than the uprate i queried with them.
Bit of a shambles really no real way on BTs web site to contact anyone with regards to broadband issues.
The form which you kindly suggested and i appreciated your help ended up in the hands of someone who either did not bother to read the query or just had such a poor grasp of English they did not understand the query.
Pretty pathetic really when BT are the largest telco in the UK. I think ill be taking my broadband business elsewhere regardless at the end of my 18 month contract, while im sure staff here are wonderful and may even yet help me, i do not particularly want to go through the almost like pulling teeth pain of getting any future issue looked at.
They are great at quickly fixing voice line problems and have a great test on their site. Broadband side of things and support for that though seems a shambles. -

I received an email stating that my Apple ID was missing information and they provided a link to login and update my info.

Where do we report "Problems" to Leopard?
Since installing Leopard, my internet connect drops repeatedly. I have to turn off the DSL modem, unplug the unit, wait a minute and reconnect to get back on the web. I never had this problem with Tiger.
I'm sure Apple wants to know these problems for "fixes". Where do we report them and does anyone know how to fix my problem?

As far as your specific problem, folks will need more info, such as how your modem is connected to your computer and what setup you're using to connect to the internet (how is the network configuration set up in OS X). -

You can define your own reports_path variable.
If you know unix a little make a search for the REPORTS_PATH in your <oracle_home>/bin directory.
I think it is in reports.sh
put there the directory you want. eg /applications/reports:$REPORTS_PATH
or you can add a named environment in your reports server engine
this is the <reports>.conf file in your <oracle_home>/reports/conf/ directory
eg
<environment id="Dev">
<envVariable name="REPORTS_PATH" value="/applications/reports"/>
</environment>

I recently purchased Aperture from App store and this was running fine until I upgraded to Mountain Lion. Now when I start Aperture it asks me for a Serial Number . Where can I find this as it was a download and I have no packaging?
I also have this problem! Mine is also not from the App Store. I had purchased Aperture 1, then upgrades for both version 2 and version 3. It's annoying as it is, but I also have to enter my previous serial number as well since it was an upgrade.
