Where do I see on itunes when I entered a gift card?

I entered two gift cards and I thought there was $50.00 total. Now all the sudden after spending @$5.00 I only have $17.00 left. Where do I find on my itunes where I entered my gift cards?

Sorry, but there is no way to see what cards you have redeemed and when.
As to the incorrect balance, make sure you're logged into the iTunes Store using the account ID and password you set up, or used, when you redeemed your card/gift. If you are, try signing out of the account and back in.
If you're sure you are using the correct account and that you're signing in to the iTunes Store, and signing out and back in doesn't help, go to the Purchase History:

and review your purchases to make sure that you should indeed have the balance left you think you should. iTunes doesn't always refresh the balance it shows, so it's possible you spent the money and it just wasn't being reflected in the display. This display error can usually be corrected by logging out of the iTunes Store and then back in.
If you confirm that you should have a higher balance left but the iTunes Store isn't showing it correctly, go here:

and follow the instructions to report the issue to the iTunes Store.

I went into the computer and set up my account, I then went to where you enter the gift card info to redeem the money and my account says I have $40...however, when I go and try to use it I can not figure out how to do so. I also read that I can remove my credit card info and just use Itune cards...but again i can not figure out how to do this.
This is very frustrating because something so simple is turning into an all day fiasco!

Order of iTunes billing methods
When making purchases, content credits are used first, followed by Gift Certificate, iTunes Card, or Allowance Account credits; your credit card or PayPal account is then charged for any remaining balance.
When you buy individual songs from the iTunes Store:
Free song credits are redeemed first.
If you have no free song credits, gift certificate, prepaid card, and allowance credits are used next.
If your gift certificate, prepaid card, and/or allowance credit is less than the total cost of the purchase, your credit card is billed for the remaining balance.
If you have no free song credits or gift certificates, prepaid cards, or allowance credits, your credit card is billed for the songs you buy.
When you buy an album on the iTunes Store:
Gift certificate, prepaid card, and allowance credits are used first.
If your gift certificate, prepaid card, or allowance credit is less than the total cost of the purchase, your credit card is billed for the remaining balance. Note: Free song credits cannot be used for album purchases.
If you have no gift certificates, prepaid cards, or allowance credits, your credit card is billed for the albums you buy.

What are you trying to use as your payment method, credit card or debit card ? If it's a debit card then I don't think that they are still accepted as a valid payment method in all countries - from this page :
You may be able to use other payment types in your country, like debit and Maestro cards.
which implies that they are not accepted in all countries, and there have been a number of posts about them being declined.
For a card to have a chance of being accepted it needs to be registered to exactly the same name and address (including format and spacing etc) that you have on your iTunes account, and have been issued by a bank in the country where you and your iTunes account are. ITunes store won't redeem gift cards!

I start iTunes; go to iTunes store, click "Redeem", enter a gift card "Activation Code"; Immediately upon hitting Enter/Return I get an iTunes error screen reading "*Your session has timed out. Please start over.*" or some such message. At that point, I can't start over, iTunes is frozen up and I have to quit iTunes completely and restart it to try again. I try again, typing the code CAREFULLY, same thing happens. I quite iTunes, start over, and try a different gift card, same exact message. I'm running OX 10.4.11 with iTunes 8.0.2 on a Powerbook G4. I'm thinking iTunes 8 is not all that compatible with 10.4.11. Any thoughts? What do I do with $65 in gift cards?

This being a very old thread, you'll probably have better luck getting suggestions if you start a new topic with your issue.
Without any details as to where things are going wrong for you, it's difficult to offer much advice, but one thing to check is to make sure you're using the correct code. For most iTunes cards, the code is under the scratchoff area on the back of the card. For more information, see their web page If you can't get it to work after perusing that page, use the form at the bottom of the page to contact the iTunes Store customer service group and explain the problem to them.
This of course presumes you purchased valid iTunes cards from an authorized reseller. There are scams out of China selling counterfeit cards and gift certificates, so if you purchased your cards from a private individual or an unauthorized source such as eBay, you may have counterfeit cards for which you have no recourse.

I have been trying to fix this myself and just found a way tonight. This started happening after I downloaded a new version. I tried several other approaches and was unsuccessful until I was directed to the support website. I searched for 5002 error. I chose specific conditions and alert message. Then chose "Error 5002" which gave a little detail.
Basically I had to go to the above site and change my password and some other account information. It didn't work when I tried in my actual ITUNES application. I think because my account was so old and they upgraded some security items like stronger passwords etc., so the old stuff was no longer good enough. I have now redeemed two gift cards. I hope it helps.

You need to set up an Apple ID for use with the iTunes Store before you can redeem anything in the iTunes Store. You don’t need to enter credit card information to redeem only the amount of a gift certificate or card.
