**********where do i send my error report************

can anyone help need to know who and where to send my error report to

Okay, maybe there's a problem with the Quicktime
installation. Try re-installing that using the
Standalone Installer. (if you click the Quicktime
tab at the top of the page here, you'll be able to
download it)
I am having similar trouble. Restart, reinstalled itunes, Quick Time, what's next? My error is: iTunes has encountered a problem and needs to close.... its been 3 weeks since my original email to the support desk and no dice, can you help?

Do you have any Norton products installed?
Start Firefox in [[Safe Mode|Safe Mode]] to check if one of the extensions (Firefox/Tools > Add-ons > Extensions) or if hardware acceleration is causing the problem (switch to the DEFAULT theme: Firefox/Tools > Add-ons > Appearance).
*Do NOT click the Reset button on the Safe mode start window or otherwise make changes.

macbook froze while online. hard shutdown. when it restarted, an error message appeared saying finder shut down unexpectedly containing a message box with a long list of technical jibberish. after clicking OK that it would send an error report to Apple, the same error message box appeared again and again every time OK was clicked. Now the macbook will not turn on at all

If you're able to boot, launch the Console application in any of the following ways:
☞ Enter the first few letters of its name into a Spotlight search. Select it in the results (it should be at the top.)
☞ In the Finder, select Go ▹ Utilities from the menu bar, or press the key combination shift-command-U. The application is in the folder that opens.
☞ If you’re running Mac OS X 10.7 or later, open LaunchPad. Click Utilities, then Console in the page that opens.
Select the most recent panic log under System Diagnostic Reports. Post the contents — the text, please, not a screenshot. In the interest of privacy, I suggest you edit out the “Anonymous UUID,” a long string of letters, numbers, and dashes in the header and body of the report, if it’s present (it may not be.) Please don't post "shutdownStall" or "hang" reports.
If you can't boot in the usual way, try a safe boot. The instructions provided by Apple are as follows:
Be sure your Mac is shut down.
Press the power button.
Immediately after you hear the startup tone, hold the Shift key. The Shift key should be held as soon as possible after the startup tone, but not before the tone.
Release the Shift key when you see the gray Apple icon and the progress indicator (looks like a spinning gear).
During startup, you’ll see a progress bar, and then the login screen, which appears even if you normally log in automatically. You must know your login password in order to log in. If you’ve forgotten the password, you will need to reset it before you begin.
Safe mode is slower than normal, and some things won’t work at all.
Note: If FileVault is enabled under Mac OS X 10.7 or later, you can’t boot in safe mode.

• When my macbook kicks me off the internet, why doesn't it let me send the error report to apple anymore?

It used to send the error report all the time. Now not at all.

Welcome to Apple Support Communities.
With the announcement of the forthcoming OS X 10.8 'Mountain Lion', Apple is apparently no longer accepting crash reports from OS X 10.5.x "Leopard".

• I no longer have the option to "Send an Error Report" to Apple?

After installing Mountain Lion last week, my apps are crashing like crazy. Why do I no longer get the dialog that asks me if I want to send the error report to Apple?

No setting that does not enable automatic sending. Click the question mark at the bottom of the preference page for a description.
You will be bale to set how you want the reports sent for an app to automatically, manually or never.
Set reporting options
If an app quits unexpectedly, or you must force an app to quit or must restart your computer, you’ll be offered the opportunity to collect information about the problem and send it to Apple.
If you choose to send the data to Apple, you can then specify any one of the reporting options for future information collection:
Automatic reporting
No reporting
Ask each time
Automatic reporting of diagnostic and usage information is off by default, and occurs only if you have given consent. To select automatic reporting: When prompted, make sure “Don’t ask me again” is selected, and then click OK.After you click OK, automatic reporting of diagnostic and usage information begins, and information is periodically sent to Apple anonymously. You will not be prompted again unless you deselect “Send diagnostic & usage data to Apple” in the Privacy pane of Security & Privacy preferences. To select no reporting: When prompted, make sure “Don’t ask me again” is selected, and then click No Thanks. No information is sent to Apple. To select ask each time: When prompted, deselect “Don’t ask me again.” You then have the option to agree or disagree each time a diagnostic event described above occurs.

But for this to work at all you have to have the checkbox checked.

• Do browser send a error report to the website if browser fail in set up communication channel first time with that site

Suppose i want to open some site using mozilla but first time browser fail to set up communication channel. When I attempt second time it successfully set up a connection then my question is that on the second time will browser send error report of first time to that site

What was the specific problem with the first request? For example:
* The server reset the connection
* Page didn't load (blank)
* Security certificate error
* et cetera
In some of these cases, the destination server might not know you sent a first request. And in other cases, that will be in the log. But I do not think Firefox sends any notification of problems with previous connections, the site would have to make an educated guess about the problem based on getting two sequential requests from the same IP address.

Again, no opportunity to send error message. I really like a lot of the features with Firefox but the crashing is driving me crazy. • Send error report? No! I just want my music!

"iTunes has encountered a problem and needs to close. We are sorry for the inconvenience." Every time i click on iTunes it asks me if i want to send an error report. I doesn't even tell me what type of error it's having.I tried reinstalling iTunes and the same thing kept happening. Any ideas?

Hello Julie,
Your songs and iTunes balance are fine, they are not influenced by the iTunes applications or any issues it may have. The message you are experiencing indicates the folder where iTunes is saved has changed, or no longer exists. Since you are using a shortcut (a link to where the application iTunes is installed) and you're getting this message, it means the iTunes application is not where it used to be located.
I would suggest trying to reinstall iTunes from www.apple.com/itunes and let us know if you encounter any errors messages.

• Itunes will not start and keep getting send error report to MS message

I had a system crash and have re-built the sytem with XP Professional SP2 with all upto date patches. Symantec Norton Internet Security 2007.
Downloaded the latest Itunes and Quicktime update on Monday evening and now every time I click on the Itunes icon, i get unable to start application and do you want to send an error report to Microsoft.
I remember all the problems with the 6 to 7 upgrade and am hoping this is not a repeat.
Any help appreciated.

The quote below is from a previous thread where several people solved your same problem with the stated technique. Maybe it will work for you. Good Luck.
iTunes 7.0.2 FIX.........Have tried all 'fixes' suggested but iTunes STILL not opening
1. Uninstall iTunes and Quicktime.
2. Do a search in the C:\ drive for "QuickTime". Delete EVERYTHING that pops up.
3. Restart the computer.
4. Install QUICKTIME ONLY
5. THEN install iTunes......and IT WORKS.....Just remember to install Quicktime FIRST.

• Itunes wont open/ immediate "send error report message"

So I had a problem with me trying to install itunes 7.3 because of a missing itunes.msi. I followed the instructions i found from this forum as follows
"1. Go to http://www.ccleaner.com/ and download and install CCleaner. Run this program and click Run Cleaner. This program will remove most of your temporary files.
2. Go to http://download.microsoft.com/download/e/9/d/e9d80355-7ab4-45b8-80e8-983a48d5e1b d/msicuu2.exe and download and install Windows Install Clean Up utility. Click on iTunes and click Remove. Do the same for Quicktime.
3. Now you need to manually delete all of your iTunes and Quicktime files. This can take a very long time. Just go to C: and start searching through.
4. Go to the Run box and type in "regedit". Go through all of the folders in there and delete all iTunes and Quicktime files.
5. Go to Add/Remove Programs and Remove iTunes and Quicktime.
6. Download iTunes again and install it."
I then tried to open itunes and immediately a message pops up asking if i want to send an error report to microsoft. It seems as though step 4 might have truly made things worse.
Someone please help
Windows XP

After you get the send error report message go to:
Start -> Control Panel (In classic view which can be enabled by clicking view classic.) -> Administrative Tools -> Event Viewer.
Select the Application log and look for the most recent errors (Marked by a red X).
Double click on the error and it will show you a full description. For an error similar to the one you are recieving it should report a 'faulting module' in the error.
Please paste that here. This will help us help you.

• Itunes wont open.. "send error report to microsoft"

Whenever i try to open my Itunes, a message asking me to send an error report to Microsoft appears. I have tried recreating the preference files or whatever, and also recreating the music library files that are potentially corrupt. please help me someone!!
gateway Windows XP

I have the same problem too. I use Win2k3 on my Compaq Presario 2500 laptop. I have been noticing this problem since the day i decided to upgrade from iTunes 6.0.2.x to higher. As of now it seems to me that it is the problem with QuickTime. Worse part is afte uninstalling the iTunes I can not find QuickTime in add/remove program group.
Earlier for this reason alone I did reinstall everything, formatting the disk. Yesterday I just tried upgrading to latest version. Unlucky me stuck with the same problem again. Never expected something like this from Apple at least. Now I should row for clean install once again.
Tried to rolling back to earlier version of iTunes but quicktime seems to be the problem.

• Itunes program not responding and wants me to send error report

I have read many posts and answers to this problem and have tried about everything that I have read. When I try to open the itunes 7 program on my desktop, it says the program cannot respond and must shut down. It also asks if I wish to send an error report. I have installed and uninstalled the itunes 7 program several times. I have disabled my spyware applications and my norton antivirus programs and then tried to re-install and I get the same thing. I have also tried to install Quicktime 7 stand alone program and when I try to install and run this program another message comes up that states that it cannot install this Quicktime program because another more recent QT program is already installed on my computer. I am really starting to go crazy here. Can anyone help?

okay, let's try this first.
head into your Add/Remove programs. uninstall
QuickTime.
Next, we’ll manually remove leftover program files
and folders.
1. On the Start menu, click My Computer (or
double-click My Computer on the Desktop).
2. In My Computer, open Local Disk.
3. Open Program Files.
4. Right-click on the QuickTime folder and click
Delete from the shortcut menu.
5. Navigate to C:\Windows\system32\.
6. Remove the files QuickTime.qts and
QuicktimeVR.qtx.
7. Restart your computer.
next, we'll get a fresh copy of QuickTime into your
PC by doing a repair install of
itunes.
switch off antivirus and antispyware applications
prior to the repair install.
go into Add/Remove and select itunes. click "Change"
and then click "Repair".
if the repair install goes through okay, restart the
PC and try launching itunes again. does it launch
properly now?
i tried all above as i am having the same problem, but i still get the message "itunes has encountered a problem and must close" and quicktime still does nothing when i try to open it...
