Where do MP3s go?

I can save them to my hard drive, desk top, itunes, no problem, but when you mark a destination and you burn them twice, it says that a file already exists. Where are they stored?

Are you talking about bouncing? In the bouncing dialog you can choose the destination folder. There is also an option "add to audio bin". This will add the file to logic and you will get a warning if a file with the same name is created.

  • N80 - where should mp3 files be on memory card

I have an N80 and use Apple Macs. I use the Thrubb application to tranfer music. Where should they reside on the memory card ? When I transfer to Sounds > Digital I can't see them via Music Player but can via Gallery.
    Any help appreciated

With the music player, remember to update the music library: Music > Options > Music library > Options > Update Music library

  • Why can't I sync my music without erasing my entire current iphone library???? Newly purchased MP3s don't transfer from my (authorized) laptop itunes.

My desktop no longer works where previous MP3s and CDs were downloaded. I currently use my laptop now and cannot get recently purchased MP3s to sync on my iphone 4 without erasing my current iphone library and replacing it with what is on my laptop. I've searched and experimented with every possibility (it seems) without taking the "big step" of syncing my entire library. My current iphone library has 990+ songs and my laptop itunes library only has 381. I don't want to lose what I've got already. Anybody????

There are third-party programs like those discussed here that can transfer non-iTunes purchased music to a computer.

  • Read ID3 of external MP3

    Hi,
Currently I'm working on a MP3 Player. I start loading the
MP3 using the Sound.loadSound(URL, true) method.
In the Sound.onID3 event, I try to read the Tags using
    Sound.id3.TALB.
Now I run a test with 2 files. The first one is on localhost,
the second one is on an external server.
Starting the player out of the flash development environment
(STRG+SHIFT+ENTER), I get the album ID3 for each file.
Running the player as an embedded SWF on a HTML site (running
on localhost), I get the album ID3 for the file saved on localhost
but not for the external one. I can play it and read it's duration
    and total bytes, though.

search crossdomain.xml and add that file (edited to fit your
domains) to the domain where your MP3 file is.
Flash definitely cannot access data across domains under the
new security models so you require a crossdomain.xml which allows
your domain to pull data from that server. My guess is the sound
comes through because Flash is allowed to access a music stream
cross domain. Data definitely not. It's kind of confusing for sure
what the difference is, but data cannot be accessed for
    sure.

  • Getting mp3 files from Windows media player to itunes.

Hi,  I have ripped music to windows media player no problem. But how the h e l l do I easily and reliably import the music files to to the itunes program, it refuses to find the files. I have occassionally succeeded in doing this, after hours of trying, partially by trying everything that comes to mind. Why is the darn program so darn user unfriendly and unintuitive????? I am sorry I bought my wife an ipod.   thanks for any help provided.

Make sure you know the folder(s) where the MP3s reside.  Depending on your setup, it might be "My Music."  Then go into iTunes and use the command File > Add Folder to Library, and navigate it to the folder.

  • IPod Classic 160 - unplayable mp3s

    Hello to all
I recently purchased an iPod Classic 160 GB
On iTunes I have about 45 GB of music including mp3 recorded by my concerts
The iPod can not play some of these mp3, whereas other mp3 players have no problem to play these songs.
iTunes on my MacBook Pro works correctly with all the mp3.
When I connect the iPod via bluetooth to my car, the car appears on the display "iPod error" (which does not happen if the songs mentioned above are not present on the device)
    Do you have ideas? Suggestions?
    Bye

  • Songs that have been converted to MP3

I'm changing the format of my songs to MP3 so that they will play on my player.  Once I've changed them, I can't find them in iTunes.  Does anyone know where I can find them in iTunes once they've been converted to MP3 format? Thanks.

Right after you convert them, sort your Music library by Date Added, and they will be the newest things, right at the top.
At any later time, you can tell the MP3s by the "Kind" column saying "MPEG audio file."  If you do not have a Kind column, enable it by going to View > View Options.
Once you find them in the library, right-click them and choose Show in Windows Explorer, and you will see where the MP3 file is.

  • Converting mp3 file to AIFF

Hi, I'm making my way through a how to book called "Logic Pro 7 and Logic Pro Express 7," right now. I'm at a stage in Lesson 4 where I'm supposed to add an mp3 file to the Audio Window for a song that I'm working on. I dragged three AAIF files in and there was no issue. But I keep trying to add an mp3 file to the Audio window. I select "add audio file" and then I get to the "open file" window. When I add the mp3 file, it appears in the box, but above it, it says, "no audio file selected." When I hit "done", I get 3 rejection windows. The first two say, "could not create file." Then the third says, "Beat mp3 file, what kind of file is this?" In the book, it says that the mp3 should automatically convert to AAIF, but this isn't happening. Is there anything that I'm clearly not doing?? Thanks

I had exactly this problem some time ago - the command to import mp3 is messed up so if you try and add a file from the Audio menu you will get what you describe.
However you dont even need to use Waveburn - instead adjust Logic's window so you can see a bit of your Desk Top .. then open the directory where your MP3 file is stored that you want to bring into Logic - and just drag it Window to Window .. from the desk top straight into Logic's Audio Window next to the other audio files

  • How do I play some downloaded MP3 from NPR?

I have downloaded some old NPR mp3's that are not available in their RSS feeds.  Aside: These are old episedes of Fresh Air about the AMC series Breaking Bad.
I am using iTunes match, and these files are not eligible, probably because their bitrates are too low (these are radio interviews, not music).  So, these are not getting uploaded to the iCloud.  I cannot "subscribe" to these either, as these are old episodes that are not showing up in the lists of Podcasts or RSS feeds.
How do I listen to these on my iPhone5?
    Aloke
PS: I understand Apple's inclination to control everything .. but seriously, can I somehow copy audio/music files of my creation on to my device outside of going through iTunes Match without disabling Match altogether? How?

Right, now that I can see what's relevant.
You can import an MP3 to your iTunes Library, and add it to your iPhone, and listen to it on the phone. They can be NPR MP3s, downloaded from their site, or they can be audio/music files of your own creation. I have both in my Library and on my iPod.
You have already downloaded the files, you've told us that. So they are already on your computer, somewhere.
In your iTunes Library, press the ALT key and then press F, and finally D. (That's File/Add folder to Library)
Navigate to the folder where the MP3s are located, and choose the folder.
Press Select Folder. The MP3s are now added to your Music Library.
Change/edit the files, so that they are in any Playlists, you want, are set to skip when shuffling (which will stop them playing while listening to music in shuffle mode) and any other attributes that you want to add.
Sync these files to your iPhone in the same manner that you normally use.

  • Changing mp3s to CBR doesn't remove skipping?

I've had two CDs recently converted to mp3s give me trouble when played on my iPod. In both cases, the songs would play part way through and then skip to the next song. Research here and in other forums suggested I create Constant Bit Rate mp3s to avoid placing a processing load on the iPod's relatively small "brain" (whereas most mp3s are Variable Bit Rate and the device playing them has to follow that variability during playback).
This worked great on CD of blues music. However, it's not working with the CD of classical guitar. The CBR mp3s in that second case will skip during the song or even not play at all and skip to the next song. I've tried one suggestion of looking at the file in iTunes and making sure the beginning/end were defined as the actual full length of the song. No luck. Any tips?

Try converting that particular album as AAC instead of MP3. I've had some songs give problems in one format and work in the other -- I'm guessing it is an obscure coding error that they haven't fixed.

  • Time Warner Cable Installers Stole My Mp3 Player (Zen Photo Mic

First off before you read my little story, I just want to say that this Mp3 kicked ass and i will most likely be getting another one (or a new version if their is one) but buying another will be far off since this has left a nasty taste in my mouth. Anyways to my story
I got owned pretty harsh today after realizing my mp3 player was stolen. It has been sitting on my desk for the past 2 weeks since it has been way to busy at work to bring it in and use it. I go to plug in my mp3 player to load in some new songs and it isnt their.
I looked all over my house/car/work/clothes and it just isnt anywhere to be found. The only time someone could have taken it would have been a few days ago when the cable was installed. I was at work and had my grandpa let them in and sign for the service, since its almost impossible for me to explain what a mp3 player is to my grandpa i dont expect him to remember seeing it that day on my desk, but i know for sure it was their. Hell even my head phones where sitting in the same spot where the mp3 player was.
I called up Time Warner and they just told me well looks like you need to file a police report since their is no proof they stole it.
And since that will bring about nothing, i am just gonna go down to their office tomorrow and gonna ask them nicely if they accidentally grab-ed it by "mistake" since they had all their tools on my desk.
Right now i have nothing to loose so i might as well ask nicely, If they dont have it i will definitely be canceling my service from them and getting my funds returned for installation via credit card company.
Basically that's the story and any help or ideas would be great.
BTW: I went to take a picture of my house and room to kinda help them remember it if they did take it and my Digital camera stopped working and i talked to HP and said it was just over the warranty and they cant repair discontinued camera models.

    Hi,
I'm from germany so no 'best buy' but I think I will lock around sleeve/bag for a different product with same measures. Any tip?
The clear plastic case is not what I want. I would like to use the player without such protections. I just want a sleeve to protect the player while its in my jacket/pants.
Btw, i have bought this version: Creative Zen (maybe european version?). I also doesn't seem to have your mentioned sleeve. I also couldn't find it on the website.
    Anyway, thank you,
    Chris

  • Converted itunes to MP3

I was able to convert Itunes store purchased music to an MP3 format. Thus the music plays on Windows Media Player. However, the converted music is not accesible in folders accessed through My Computer then Music. Thus I am unable to transfer music to an external MP3 player. It appears that XP does not recognize the new format. Any help?

If the MP3 versions of the songs have iTunes library entries, then right click the entries and use "Show in Explorer." If they have WMP entries, enable the column "File Name" in the WMP Media Library view.
In either case, you will then know exactly where your MP3s are, and you can drag them to your player.

  • Problem with Creative Zen Nano Plus 1 GB mp3 player please r

I bought zen nano plus? month ago and while i was transfering music into it it crashed ,? it looked like its no more readable so i disconected it from my pc , it needed format , i did format and tried to transfer some music again but the same problem appeared . I thought the memory card of the player is damaged and needs to be changed or repaired? , i gave it to customer support and after a few days they said they installed newer software version to the player , well i thought it will fix the problem . Once i got home i tried to transfer music and it crashed again , i couldnt even format it cause when i plug in the mp3 F: ( usb dri've ) does not respond. I gave the mp3 to customer support again , they filled up the mp3 with music six times and everything worked fine. But at home it still crashes while transfering , so i dont know what to think . On the packet where the mp3 was when i bought is written WORKS WITH WINDOWS VISTA ,?currently i have windows xp ,? can it be that i can only transfer music without prloblems with windows vista ? can it be that zen nano plus is created to use with windows vista ? Thanks for reading !

Did you install the driver on your PC? If not, then do it. Try reformatting the player as FAT. Next try tranferring a few folders full of mp3 files. Use windows explorer to drag and drop the folders? with files to the player. Now see if the player will play them.

  • Little MP3 tolera

    Hi there good people
My system 256MB MuVo Slim OS Win ME Memory 256 MB HD 80GB
Downloading MP3 titles from my PC to the 256MB Muvo slim I found that the upper capacity limit it would accept AND play back, was about 75MB. Next time I tried this it was down to 4 titles
My player chokes and reverts to the radio when I fill the memory with >75MB,.... (going down, now just 4 titles) of MP3 music
Well I thought I had a memory failure and wiped the MuVo memory from the PC. Windows ME, indicated ( now empty of recordings)243MB of free memory.
I next tried filling the memory with WAV recordings. This time , it was OK and I could reproduce 240MB of music, but in WAV format.
This in my case is about 45 songs to fill the 240MB.
Down side is that 45, 3 min songs are played in 45 x3 min, about two and a quarter hours. Not much really.
Any one got any ideas why I can't fill with MP3's which occupy about a quarter of the memory letting me get possibly 8 hours of music while out of town.
As a portable disk it is fine and will fill to 240 MB and accept all my usual files e.g. exe, txt, html, MP3 and let me carry them to another pc with no recovery problems, it just balks when PLAYING MP3s.
I also can't rule out that this is a software problem where the MP3 module has become corrupt.
Any guru out there had any similar sort of experience'
    Cheers

You should definitely be able to fill the player with MP3s.
It doesn't sound like you're hitting the file number limit (which is about 00 files or so in the root) but just to be sure try putting these files in folders.
If this doesn't help then make sure you have the latest firmware.

  • Mp3 wont work???

I recently downloaded some mp3 files but they wont play on my itunes. However, they play fine with real player. When i double click on them iTunes opens up but it wont copy into my library and start to play. I'd like to burn then onto a cd. Can i burn a cd from real player? Any suggestion?

The command I posted was to have the computer scan the file and report back what the OS thinks the file could be regardless of the extension on the name. That way we could get some useful information and potentially narrow down the possible problems (DRM, file corruption, not actually an mp3, etc).
To do this you would need to open the Terminal application. It's in /Applications/Utilities.
Next cut and past the following line:
    file -ik TheMusic.mp3
Where TheMusic.mp3 is a file that you are having trouble with. For example if the file is on your Desktop the full command would be:
    file -ik Desktop/TheMusic.mp3
If your friend created those files using the RealPlayer Jukebox type program, there is a pretty good chance that there is a SRM issue preventing you from using the files with anything other than Real's products.
