Where do my shared iCloud photos go to? What website?

I need to reset my phone and i dont want to lose my pictures. I supposedly shared all my pictures/videos in an album and 'shared' them. I dont know where they went though? I checked the icloud website and there isnt a photo sharing widget on it...? I dont want anyone seeing these pictures. They are personal.

You do regularly copy them to your computer, correct?
-> Import photos and videos from your iPhone, iPad, or iPod touch to your Mac or Windows PC - Apple Support
Shared photos go to iCloud not in your normal iCloud account.
Open the Photos app.
Tap Shared at bottom.
Tap the album you shared.
Tap People.
Tap the Public Website to On and you can Share a link to your email address.
Theses where you can view these photos.
But again, you need to regularly copy them to your computer.

  • Shared iCloud Photo Streams - "read only" ?

I am looking for a setting in iPhoto or iCloud so that the people that I have invited only have the right to view my shared album but not to add or delete photos.
This kind of setting is possible with the shared calendars and it would be in my opinion useful for the shared photo stream as well. Is there a setting that I missed? Am I the only one looking for this feature?

You set that option in each shared photo stream individually, when you create the Shared Photo Stream.
You cannot change it for existing streams - only delete the stream and recreate it without the option "Subscribers can post".  The screenshot is for Shared Photo Streams in iPhoto on the Mac, but the corresponding Shared Albums created on iOS devices have a similar option, when you create them.

  • Is it possible to share a top level view of all my shared iCloud photo albums?

I have created six shared streams within Aperture for my photos and want to share them with friends. But I want to send people only one URL so that the can browse the indivdual albums and their contents. Is that possible - or do I have to send 6 separate addresses?

    No, and no.
Backup important photos with Time Machine, or to some other external storage.

  • IPhotos - Shared iCloud vs My Photo Stream????

In my iPhoto I have a "RECENT - My Photo Stream" item that contains 194 photos and a "SHARED iCloud" item that contains 402 photos.  Some of these photos in the two "albums" are the same.
Question: What is the difference between "My Photo Stream" and "iCloud" photos??????!!!???
I never set up a SHARED iCloud photos album.

Where exactly are you seeing this SHARED iCloud.  It this what you you're referring to:
That's normal.  If you click on the iCloud icon you'll see in the window at the right the My Photo Stream album and any shared albums that you might have setup manually.
So if this isn't what you're referring to please describe in more detail or include screenshots.

  • All photos in icloud photo stream not saved in local mac library

Basically, I have a shared icloud photo stream that is 1003 pictures, if I select all of them and say show in library, it only highlights 992 pictures on my local drive. Is there any way I can reimport a photostream?

    Hello asbreck,
You can use these steps to reimport photos from a Shared Photo Stream.
To save photos from shared photo streams you subscribe to:
Photos in shared photo streams are view-only. However, you can import the photos into your iPhoto library, apply edits, share the updated photos, and add them to your slideshows and books.
In the Source list, select Photo Stream.
Double-click the shared stream containing the photos you want to save.
    Select the photos.
Import the photos into your library by dragging them to Events in the Source list.
iPhoto '11: Subscribe to shared photo streams
    http://support.apple.com/kb/PH11959
It's important to note that if some of these pictures are already in your library and you reimport them, you will have a duplicate of the picture.  If you can isolate the 11 pictures that are not in your library, I recommend importing just those 11 photos.
Thank you for using Apple Support Communities.
    Best,
    Sheila M.

  • Settings iCloud Photos does not appear on my iPhone with iOS8

I have created some shared iCloud photo streams using iPhoto. I used to be able to access the stream and update it using my iPhone 4S on iOS 7. Since upgrading to iOS 8, the streams no longer appear.
When I go to Settings > iCloud (as instructed by Apple's trouble shooting guide), the Photos option does not appear as it used to in iOS 7.
I've tried to logout of iCloud and re-login and this has not resolved the issue. Any help would be appreciated!

It is likely on another page, in a folder, or you have restrictions set.  Check all of these.
If you do not find it, then reset the homescreen layout ( covered in the manual).

  • ICloud photo library download inturrupted

Tried to download a 470Mb video from my iCloud photo library using the website on to a windows PC, anyone else have this issue?

Until the Mac photos app is released I think the only way would be to set "download originals" in the iOS photos setting, then after they all have been downloaded to your device plug it into your computer and download them off the device.

  • ICloud photo library questions

    Hi,
sorry in advance for my poor english, but i'll try to explain the best that i can...
I have an iPhone 6 128GB and an iPad Air 128 GB.
All my pictures were taken using my iPhone (restored icloud backup from iPhone 5s and I have 1200 photos)
With iOs 8.0.2 I enables iCloud Photo Library on both iPhone and iPad.
Well. Now on my iPad i choose the optimized version of photos to preserve space, but the photos don't download automatically, as i see only blank previews in photos app.
I need to scroll the library and they eventually start to download to ipad... Doing this i have the full library on ipad and it keeps more or less 600 MB.
On iphone i also chose to keep only optimized version, but the total sotrage capacity occupied by photos keep being 4,9 GB (as before enabling iCloud Photo library)
As what i understood, it sould have decreased the gb occupied by photos as on ipad... is it correct?
Also, on iPad, if i disable icloud photo library, it says that all photos are going to be removed form ipad, but this does not happen on iphone, like it did not understood that on iphone there are only optimised versions...
Could someone explain me whaty is going on?
    thank you
    Paolo

just to correct something wrong that I said: if iCloud Photo Library and PhotoStream are activated, PhotoStream won't actually eat any space and it will behave like it did in iOS 8.0 - 8.0.2, seamlessly integrated in Photos. Now if iCloud Photo Library is off and PhotoStream is still on, a new album will be created, containing low res versions of both uploaded and downloaded files (like in iOS 7), using local storage again.
Anyway ... expecting iCloud Photo Library to get out of beta ASAP and PhotoStream to go ... for good.

  • HT201077 My photos stopped going to my PC photo stream. What could have happened for this to happen?

Photos were going to my PC photo stream & suddenly stopped around the first week of October. Don't know if this was when my iphone 4 & ipad updated to the ios-7.

The following is from this Apple Document: iCloud: Photo Stream FAQ
What do I need to use Photo Stream?
To use Photo Stream, including Shared Photo Streams, you need an iCloud account, compatible devices, and up-to-date software:
iPhone, iPad, or iPod touch with iOS 6.0 or later
Mac with OS X Mountain Lion v10.8.2 or later and iPhoto 9.4 or Aperture 3.4 or later
PC with Windows 8, Windows 7, or Windows Vista (Service Pack 2) and the iCloud Control Panel 2.1 or later for Windows
Apple TV (2nd generation) with Software Update 5.1 or later
You can still use Photo Stream without Shared Photo Streams if your devices meet these requirements:
iPhone, iPad, or iPod touch with iOS 5.1 or later
Mac with OS X Lion v10.7.5 or later and iPhoto 9.2.2 or Aperture 3.2.3 or later
PC with Windows 7 or Windows Vista (Service Pack 2) and the iCloud Control Panel v2.0 or later for Windows
Apple TV (2nd generation) with Software Update 5.0 or later
For complete iCloud setup instructions, visit How to set up iCloud.
You need Mt. Lion in order to use Shared Photo Streams.

my friend shared a video with me on icloud photo sharing and then she deleted it from her camera roll, how do I save it???(very urgent)

DVDs are encoded into MPEG2, which iMovie cannot edit. So you need to convert the DVD back to something else. For highest quality, I recommend that you convert the DVD to Apple Intermediate Codec. There is a free tool called MPEG Streamclip that will do this. You will also need to install the Apple QuickTIme MPEG2 Playback Component.
    Here are the details.
    1) Download and install the Apple MPEG2 QuickTime Component ($20) - available online from Apple.
    2) Download and install MPEG Streamclip from Squared 5 (free).
    3) Start MPEG Streamclip
    4) Insert your DVD into your Mac. If DVD Player or Front Row starts automatically quit those.
    5) Open a Finder window. Navigate to your DVD to the Video_TS folder.
    6) Drag the .VOB files from the Video_TS folder and drop then into MPEG Streamclip.
    7) If MPEG Streamclip offers to fix timecode breaks, say yes.
    8) Use FILE/EXPORT TO QUICKTIME to convert the files to Apple Intermediate Codec (or h.264 if you prefer)
9a) Optional: You can deinterlace your footage in this step, if you like
9b) optional: If you know the date and or time of the footage, name your file
    clip-yyyy-mm-dd hh;mm;ss
(let mpeg streamclip provide the extension). This will provide metadata that iMovie will use to put the event in the right year and month.
9c) Optional: If you don't want to make one huge clip out of your DVD, you can make smaller clips by using MPEG Streamclip. Move the cursor to the "in" point of the clip, and press i. Move the cursor to the "Out" point of the clip, and press o. Then do steps 8 through 10 and repeat until you have done this for all clips you want.
    10) Save the resulting file in a place where you can find it, like your Desktop.
    11) Open iMovie.
    12) In iMovie, choose FILE/IMPORT/From File and choose the file you saved in steps 8, 9, 10.
    13) iMovie will generate thumbnails and you can edit.

  • Can't load photos into iCloud photo stream for sharing (from iMac)

In iPhoto, I select an event, hit "Share >> iCloud",  then "add new stream", then get the dialog box, then enter a friend's email, then hit "share". then get message "xx photos were posted". But when I look at my iCloud there is only an empty data stream (correct title but zero photos).

Where are you looking at the stream? On the same mac or on an iOS device?  Do you see the shared photos in the iCloud section in the iPhoto library? Is your Wi-Fi working correctly?
Can it be, that you have hit one of the sharing limits?
iCloud: My Photo Stream and iCloud Photo Sharing limits
If you have exceeded a limit, you may have to wait, before the photos will upload.

  • Can't enable iCloud photo sharing on my Mac

I recently had some problems with my computer where it would not turn on so I had to restore from a time machine backup. Ever since the backup, everything on the computer is working exactly as expected except for the fact that I cannot turn on iCloud photo sharing. I've tried to sign out of my iCloud account and sign back in... didn't help. I tried to delete iPhoto.... Didn't help. I have noticed that if I have the "Photos" checkbox under the iCloud menu in System Preferences checked that a process called "iCloud Photos" comes up in the Activity Monitor. This process takes up 100% of my CPU and never goes away. I'm pretty certain that this is the issue but I'm not sure what to do from here. If I try to end the process it just comes back up. The only way to get rid of it is to remove the checkmark in the iCloud preferences window. I have attached a few screenshots to help illustrate. Thanks in advance for your help!

I just tried with a different iCloud account and it worked! So the problem is with my iCould account... unfortunately, it might not be very easy to troubleshoot.
UPDATE: When I signed back in to my normal iCloud account it still worked! I'm not sure what signing in with the other account did but it obviously helped! Thank you so much for your help!

  • Sharing Photos that are already on iCloud Photo

    Hi, all!
Well, I know iCloud Photo is on its beta stages, but here are some details that I found very frustrating and cannot seem to share some of my photos yet.
I will explain in three main trials, otherwise the post might be just too long(er than it already is).
    The prologue:
A couple of weeks ago, I went on a trip with a few friends and each one of us took photos with our own respective phones.
Note that, before the trip, my iCloud Photo was already enabled with the "Optimize iPhone Storage" function.
    The first try:
After we came back, I was asked to share the pictures I've taken and (since I am not really a fan of Facebook photo sharing) I tried to do it by AirDrop.
But I couldn't because the "Preparing" pop-up was taking forever - I guess it was downloading the pictures from iCloud Photo (where it was backed-up to optimize my phone's storage).
    The second try:
I went on iCloud.com and tried downloading the images to a friend's computer.
Again, around 300 pictures was taking forever to download each one separately and there wasn't an option to "Share Album" on the website - so, I gave up.
    The third try:
I created a "Shared Album" on my iPhone and invited my friends.
However, most of the pictures could not be posted when I tried (the several times).
Once more, I am thinking it is the iCloud Photo optimizing my storage and, since the photos are not actually on my phone, they have to be downloaded before being posted.
I have also added the pictures to an album stored in my phone, but it seems that there isn't an option to "Share an Existing Album" - and I guess that this was less time-consuming, so does not count as a trial(?).
    The conclusion:
I believe that the problem is on the "Optimize iPhone Storage" function that makes necessary the download of all the backed-up photo before it can be shared, by any means.
    The possible solutions:
    1. One feature that could help is not having to download the backed-up photos when sharing them on iCloud.
    2. Sharing albums directly from iCloud.com, then the photos would not have to be downloaded - with the addition of a function to download bulk pictures in a compacted file (e.g.: .zip, .rar) and "Select All";
    3. "Share an Existing Album" would be nice as well.
    Finally, the question:
You might be able to tell already that I have a slow internet and that this was more of a complaint than an actual question.
So, any other suggestions on what I could do to share these nearly-300 photos that my friends are already cursing at me to send them?
    Thanks!
    yannhaur

    Welcome to the Apple Community.
If you turn off photo stream it will only remove the photo stream album, it won't remove photos from your camera roll.

  • I just loaded some July pictures into my PC iCloud photos upload folder, but I do not see them with my iPad. Are they not shared because they are past the 30 day window, or is there a different issue?

I just loaded some July pictures into my PC iCloud photos upload folder, but I do not see them with my iPad. Are they not shared because they are past the 30 day window, or is there a different issue?

Generally I would not use Facebook for sharing any photos, it compresses the photos substantially, and when you have shadows and dark colours you get visible "bands" where there should be subtle gradients, ie at sunsets and sunrises.
It sounds like you are using two methods to upload to Facebook:
    1. Sharing from within Aperture, which basically syncs Facebook with your Aperture album, so any changes made at either end gets synced, hence the deletions from Albums, although the original file should still be in your library, just removed rom the album. It is like a playlist in iTunes.
    2. Exporting pics and uploading to Facebook from the browser.
I am not sure how method 1 gets compressed, but I know that uploading hi-res jpegs to Facebook using method 2 results in poor quality images.
I wouldn't even bother comparing option 1 or 2, and they will both be poor images once you view them on Facebook, as opposed to viewing uploaded images on proper image sharing / hosting sites.
Your problem is not with Aperture, it is using Facebook for showing your work.
If you export pics form Aperture at high res jpegs or TIFFs your images will be fine.
If you insist to use Facebook as your way to share your work, then your workflow should be this:
    1. Right click images you want to share.
    2. Select Export version.
    3. Export as 100% size and ensure the export settings are set at 100% quality.
    4. Upload this pic into Facebook.
This will get you the best image size and resolution on Facebook.
    See how you go.

  • How can I remove my iCloud Photo Albums from my iPhone 6 storage, but still use the iCloud Photo Sharing?

I put all my photos from my iPod Touch 4 and my iPhone 4S in iCloud Photo Albums and Labeled them so that when I got the new iPhone 6 on iOS 8.1.2 I could have my previous photos on there for future use. Now I look on my iTunes app on my computer it shows that my storage on my iPhone 6 is almost full. Those Photos in iCloud are taking up all my storage on my iPhone. I know how to add more storage on my iCloud account, I just want to know Is there a way where my iCloud Photo Albums can still be in my iCloud Account, just not taking up all my storage on my iPhone.

    Hello mushysun,
Thanks for using Apple Support Communities.
If you did not sign out of your Apple ID on your iPhone before creating a new one, then you will need to sign back in with your previous Apple ID and then sign out.  If you do not remember your password and do not have access to the email account, then you can reset your password by using the security questions.

    Have a great weekend,
