Where do the UCS blades get their system time from?

Hello,
I'm curious how the system clock gets set on UCS blades?
I have NTP setup in UCSM and expected the blades to set their time based on that during first boot at the very least.
I recently associated a new service profile to a blade and installed ESXi5. The VMware 60 grace license period showed the correct expiry date (04/07/2012) but as soon as I would connect with the vSphere client it would say grace period ended. After digging a bit the blade had a date set for someday in 2010? Anyone know why this would be the case and how I can set the blade system clock?

Found a bug to track this issue CSCtj19497. There's no commit date yet, but I'm going to get some pressure put on this one.
I encourage you to open a quick TAC case and simply request to have this bug attached to your SR. This will give more ammunition to get this resolved faster.

Where does the ACS server get the DNS info for IP pools?

I am trying to change the DNS servers that my VPN users are assigned from the IP pools on the ACS server. Where does the IP pools get the DNS server information. I have changed the DNS Ips on the windows server and rebooted. But the VPN clients are still being assigned the old DNS servers.

ACS ip pools do not push DNS server information
It is either being forwarded from VPN concentrator group setup or
it is being send from ACS user/group setup > Radius(VPN 3000) attributes > [026/3076/005] Primary-DNS.

I need to call Transaction BD93 for which I need Logical system. I have created a Custom basic type for CLFMAS02.
Now I need to find out in thhe program which logical system is configured for the custoem basic type say 'ZCLFMAS02'.
Is ther any Function module or Logic to get Logical system details from Basic type.?

Check with the tables EDP13 and EDP21, the outbound and inbound parameters tables respectively, where you can key-in the message type, basic type and get the corresponding logical systems.

Set Mac system time from Labview

I'm trying to set the Mac system time from my Labview VI.
The description of my problem is that I'm using a laptop and require that the battery be removed. So, every time I power up the Mac laptop the System Time is reset to a default time way back in the 60's or 70's.
I've got an instrument that keeps current time, so I can read the time from it and use it to set the Mac time.
Ok, so I assume that I need to use an Applescript and send an AppleEvent to the Finder. The details escape me though, and the Help system doesn't work for the AppleEvent VIs (I get a Work document with 4 words and nothing else).
ANY help would be appreciated, especially if there is an easier way to set the time. But any AppleEvent help would also be appreciated.

You may be right, I need to take the laptop apart and find that battery.
I've been inside the laptop before and it's not easy...

In general, no.
You could do it using JNI if you're running your JVM
with sufficient system privileges.
It seems a highly questionable thing to want to do.
Why do you have a requirement for this?

How to set system time from Terminal while booted from 10.6.3 server install disk?

I'm installing from a 10.6.3 server install disc onto a Mac Mini. However, the battery on this Mac Mini is pretty much dead, forcing the system time back to 1/1/2001. Through some research, this has created a problem in that I cannot move beyond the Welcome screen during setup of OS X server. It looks like the binary has issues with the system time being older.
But I'm stuck in that I don't know how to adjust the system time from the Terminal Utility on the boot CD. Can anyone help?

Hey, i just run in to something similar, tonight while trying to fix a computer.
The user set the time and date on his computer to 1998 and computer locked everything including time and date in system preferences, and his user account basicly making him from administrator to guest. he could not almost any program properly that required administrator privilages.
to fix this we used this comand in terminal " sudo date 201703162014 " todays time and date

we tryed everything and this fixed in 2 seconds
ps: when you type sudo in terminal it whil give you a warning the improper use of this command is bad.... click continue.otherwhise you will not be able to execute the command.

I am running 4 ipod classica through one computer and one itunes account/profile. The ipods belong to me, husband and 2 kids. How can the kids now get their own accounts but keep the stuff I have already downloaded for them? They have their own laptops

The kids are getting older now and have their own laptops. I would like them to have their own itunes accounts as they will be away from home much of the time and will want to make their own puchases.

You and your husband can share a store account and still have seperate iCloud accounts for your contacts, bookmarks and stuff like that. Click here for instructions to make an apple account without entering a credit card. Make sure you use a different email address for each apple account.
Set up your iPhone/iPad whatever using the new account for iCloud. Then go into settings/store and sign in with your purchasing account, you may need to sign out of the other account. To the best of my knowledge, your household is allowed to share purchased legally, someone please correct me if I'm wrong.
Once you each have your own devices set to your own accounts you can set them to backup to that account and it will keep all your contacts seperate.

How do I go about setting up my new wireless all-in-one Epson XP-215 printer to my MacBook Pro? The system is not automatically detecting the printer ad the furthest I get is "System" keychain user and pswd but I am a new user to Mac.

I am a new user to Mac and trying to set up an Epson XP-215 All-in-One printer without any success. The Mac Book Pro is not recogising the Printer automatically and when following the instructions to add the printer, it gets as far as a display box for teh user and password for "System" Keychain but I am not sure what info to add there...
The printer is meant to have a function calle dAir Print also that is meant to be used for Mac but I cannot figure out any of this! Why would the MacBook Pro not automatically pic up the printer? Please help...

Has anyone heard of the ucs blades crashing, like all of them, when/if you put esxi 5.5 into LACP?

our VM guy here was trying to use LACP to solve an issue with ESXi and vmotion. He was on the phone with vmware and when it came down to putting the one blade he was working on in LACP the vm ware tech said that he would not do it because it would crash all the blades? has anyone heard, read or seen this? we are using ucsm 2.1.3.

ok, i talked to our vm guy some more and got some clarity. he stated that the vm ware techs told him that when they activate the LACP on vsphere 5.5 that it will drop all the hosts on the blade (much clearer than all the blades as i stated before).
so what we are looking for is 1. proof of this statement. 2. if true, is there another option available that does not include dropping of the hosts? the documents from vmware say at the bottom minimal network disruption, so what is the delta for that? my idea of minimal disruption is no loss of hosts and a few lost packets.
im good with a bit of spotty network connectivity while the system converges after a change but i wont complain if it does not drop anything.

I ignored that is was an application side issue, thanks for explanation. And indeed I was using lxterminal: the terminal emulator of lxde that is based on GTK. Using the xim input system everywhere solved the problem.

Where does the converted document get saved to?

After the PDF doc is converted to word and I hit save, where does the saved/converted document end up?

Wherever your browser is configured to save files to by default or the location you select.
I would suggest searching for the file name (without extension) through Windows Search or Spotlight.
If you're having difficulty saving the files at all, I'd suggest trying the troubleshooting steps outlined here: http://forums.adobe.com/docs/DOC-1831

Where should the Green Tick get displayed in digitally signed pdf files in whom the Signature has been validated ?

I have Windows 7 & Adobe 11 installed on my P.C (Apart from other Software) . Recently I downloaded Digitally Signed .pdf files & validated the Signature with Trust Certificates . However , the Green Tick Mark is coming on the left-hand side of a blue panel situated in-between the menu bar & the document . Shouldn't it be coming at the bottom right side of the document (Just above the name of the signatory) ? Is there anyway I can get the green tick to display at the bottom right side of the document or is this just the way the green tick gets displayed in current versions of adobe reader ?

First of all, you need an app on the iPad that can read those files that you want to transfer. Adobe Reader and iBooks are two free apps that will read PDF files. Adobe Reader is much more robust than iBooks as it offers so many more features like renaming files, creating folders, annotating, highlights, etc.
Download Adobe Reader in the App Store. Then read this about file sharing with iTunes.

There are other ways to get files to the iPad, like email, DropBox and some other apps that let you mount your iPad like a flash drive.

Where do I go to get my money back from Apple Itunes for not giving me the movie I rented?

I ordered a 24 hour rental from Itunes and it refuses to play. I accidentally deleted the movie from the rental after getting completely frustrated and thought I could re-download the rental but now Apple Itunes is asking me to pay 4 dollars again.... This is ridiculous.
