Where do the WiFi passwords go?

When I enter a WiFi with my iPhone, I enter a password and it works, but the password disappears.
There is no keychain app in the iPhone, right?
So when I want to tell you the WiFi password, can I read it anywhere on my iPhone?
Or has it just disappeared somewhere down there...?

No. The password is stored, but not accessible.

  • Locating where to load wifi password

I am in a guest house where the wifi password is changed on the first of every month.  My iphone and iPad find the network ID but I cannot find where to change the password.
I am sure it is simple, but so too am I.
    Thank you.

Thanks, but not asked for a password and receive the "unable to join" box.  I reset, incidientally. Didn't help.  Still need to find a box to load the new password.   It was just as messy on my laptop but that is solved.  Sadly, not with the iPhone or iPad.
    Cheers

  • How do I know what the wifi password is for my 4th Gen time capsule

I am only new to this time capsule thing… I am pretty savvy in things as technology goes but I just can't figure out how to get the wifi password on the 4TH GEN time capsule I have tried everything I know I was not the one to set it up and my mother let the tech do it and paid no attention to the finer details I would have. PLEASE HELP!!! THANK YOU.

    You will learn grasshopper!!
looked like I didn't even need the reset but this is great and simple way I hope other people use it!!!! Thank you again!!!! From a not as seasoned techy as you!!! I aspire to be as versed someday!!!
You must use the reset to remove the admin password if it is set.. If the tech left it as default the TC throws up an error.
It is one I choose to ignore since security on the Airport routers is pathetic anyway.
    Default password is public btw.
And as long as you access via ethernet then you do not need the wireless password. But the way the utility works now is to set the password the same for both wireless and admin access. So you need to reset.
Pressing the button for 1sec is called a soft reset.
Read the apple documentation on reset. There are 3 levels of reset..

There is an enormous amount of info Apple have available in documents and technical notes.. and apple has the worst search engine known to man.. so use google to find it.. !!

  • Where is the WiFi scanner in Yosemite?

Where has the WiFi scan option in Wireless diagnostics gone in Yosemite?
The Wireless Diagnostics says my Wifi is OK but my airplay is doing a Norman Collier.  What I would previously do on 10.9  is use WiFI Scan to check on the local Wireless networks to see which neighbours ones were close on channel number and signal strength and then check my wireless router channel as it always seems to default to ch 6, not always the best channel.  A shift in channel would fix the issue, and WiFi Scan saved loads of time.
I know Apple love to play hide and seek with their most useful utilities and it looks as if it's gone all MS and hidden the items and started making decisions for you.  In 10.8 it was obvious in 10.9 it was moved to a menu key in 10.10 I can see anything.
Can someone direct me as the tool saved lots of time!
    thanks in advance

  • Where is the wifi in nokia 5800?

Hi, I've a problem ith my wifi, When i hold my phone while typing the eireless network signal gets weak and I lose connectiin to wlan. So Where is the wifi in the phone because I don't want to touch it to make the connectin strong... A picture of the wifi in my phone would nice, thanks for reading... Good bye

Got to thinking about all the Anna updates that users now have,or are awaiting release. I own a 5800 and the more I read on this forum, the lower my expectations become of the impending firmware. I'm very happy with my current firmware and will hesitate to do the update until I see other users experiences. Having said that,I do use the latest Ovi Maps,Swype and Evolve theme(some issues with the theme). For the most part I'm pleased with those apps, the only thing I would have wanted to try was a new browser. Would it not have been possible for Nokia to release the browser as an app, that way if it had issues,or one just didn't like it,you could simply remove it?

  • I have an Itel based iMac on which I created a Wifi network using Airport. My iPhone5 uses the Wifi on my iMac and still works. My problem is that I can't remember the Wifi password and it is not in my Keychain.

I have an Itel based iMac on which I created a Wifi network using Airport. My iPhone5 uses the Wifi on my iMac and still works. My problem is that I can't remember the Wifi password and it is not in my Keychain. What can I do so that I can connect other devices to my Wifi?

Read the router's user manual on how to change your password.
If you are going to select another password, make sure it's one that you will NEVER forget AND no one else can figure it out.  Print it out & keep in a safe place.  A place that ONLY you know about AND never forget.

Where is the wifi music store icon supposed to be?
On the far left or far right like on apple.com?

That is interesting.......I only know two people who have the phone ..it's the right side of both phones. I'll have to check that out on other phones that I happen to see.

If your Wi-Fi router's DHCP is working, on iPhone select DHCP that's it.

  • My phone will randomly disconnect from the wifi and when I retype the password it says it is wrong. It will eventually work but I have to wait for a message to pop up on my screen to allow me to retype the wifi password.

When I first got my phone it worked perfectly fine with the wifi. Although later on I began to have problems connecting it. It will randomly disconnect from the wifi and when I try to retype the password it tells me it is wrong, although it is right. It will eventually work but in its own time, a message will pop up and allow me to type in the password and it will work. But sometimes it takes an hour or more and sometime it takes 10 minutes. I've seen where other people have had this problem but I don't know how to fix it. I'm not sure if it's an issue with my phone or if it's with my wifi. Does anyone know how to fix this?

Does this happen with all Wi-Fi hotspots?  A specific one?
Have you tried forgetting the Wi-Fi connection and then reconnecting to it?
What about power cycling the Wi-Fi router?

  • Where is the PPPoE password stored?

I connect direct to the internet using PPPoE. Works great.
Today, I purchased a wireless router so I can "share" that internet connection with my wife's laptop, etc.
So, I need to transfer the PPPoE details from my Mac's Network Preferences to the router's PPPoE settings.
Problem: I've forgotten my PPPoE password!
Solution: Does anyone know where the PPPoE password is stored?
Hint: It's not showing up in Keychain Access, for some reason, although I can access many other passwords in there.

Most password are stored in your keychain utilty.
My wifi network passwords are in there amongst my email passwords etc.
    goto /Applications/Utilities/Keychain Access
check your internet password entries and the double click the relevant entry and check the box 'show password' enter your admin password and it should reveal the password.

Can you please help me out i  would appreciate it. Thanks also it's an android phone as i mentioned earlier (Samsung galaxy s5)

If you are printing to your home network, this is likely the wireless password to your network - the password you use to access your router, for example. How to find your wireless network password Additional Help:Add Device to Printer See Section titled > Mobile Device / iPad gets an App >>News for Android, Samsung Galaxy Note, HP Slate SeriesWhen you see a Post that helps you,Inspires you, provides fresh insight,Or teaches you something new,Click the "Thumbs Up" on that Post. Click my Answer Accept as Solution to help others find Answers.
