Where does Blackberry Desktop Manager save the Passwords in Password Manager?

Ok, so I lost my Blackberry and am trying to figure out if there's any way to retrieve from password file from my laptop.
I've poked around and even called AT&T but I can't find anything that looks like the Password Manager file. What would the file be named? What would the extension be?

No, you have to click on the little button in Desktop Manager that says "BACKUP".
Your sync does not sync the Password Keeper.
Have you ever done a Backup?

If you updated your existing account then try logging out of it on the iPhone by tapping on the id in Settings > iTunes & App Stores and then log back in and see if that 'refreshes' the account on the iPad.
If you created a new account then you can log out of the old account and in with the new one as above, but any content that you purchased/downloaded via the old account will remain tied to that old account, and only that old account can re-download its content and download updates to its apps.

  • Blackberry Desktop Manager for Mac does not recognize any Calendars for syncing

ive installed the blackberry desktop manager for my Macbook and hooked my phone up through the USB port when I started the program and when I go to the calendar section it says "There are no calendars available on this computer for syncing.  Please launch a new iCal and create a new calendar".  How do I fix this?  I have a lot of information on my iCal that I want transferred over to my phone, but it won't recognize the calendar in the program.  Help

I'll try to help...first you did not provide any pertinent information for troubleshooting:  Mac OS, device, device OS...
Now before you do anything go to iCal>File>Export and create an iCal archive (JIC).  The rest is dependent on the OS (as each store iCal data differently)...It is possible that your calendar file is not where it should be.  Try cleaning system and user cache. Restarting your mac and repair permissions.
On the device side, what do you have as the default CICAL?  You could try forget device in the DM or trash the user>username>application support>BlackBerryDesktop folder and start over.
Now do you have more than one calendar?  In the DM how are you setting the sync?  Two Way, All Calendars...to what calendar are you adding on the device?  Under Advanced Settings are you selecting All events and are you Replacing all calendar events on the Blackberry device?  Remember that even if you have multiple calendars in iCal they will sync as one in the BlackBerry.

  • Blackberry Desktop Manager does not show Media Manager

First, let me say I am a NEW Blackberry user, my hubby and I both got new Blackberry Curves 8310 recently.
When I installed the disc that came with the phone, the Blackberry Desktop Manager does not have the "Media Manager" as one of the choices, as was shown on all of the booklets and tutorials. I even re-installed the program, thinking maybe it didn't download completely the first time, but it still comes up showing only these 4:
Synchronize, Backup & Restore, Application Loader, and Switch Device Wizard.......
All of the directions I've received show that I can easily add pictures and music simply by clicking on Media Manager, but it just isn't there.
Here is info about the installation disk that we received with our phones, supposedly the correct and latest versions . . ..
    Blackberry Desktop Manager
    version 4.3.0.17 (Nov.12 2007)
    Device Communications      Blackberry Device mgr....4.3.0.7
                                             BBDevMgr   ................4.0.0.1

    Application Loader          Application Loader ..........4.3.0.13
                                         RIMProgram .....................1.0.0.35
Seriously, none of these really means a whole lot to me, I just want to click on something and have it work . . .  I did try to "upgrade" to a newer version, and I got the message that the version I had was the newer one, so now what?
I have memory cards inserted in the phone(s).
I will appreciate any help with this, I'm really frustrated. I figured out how to move files manually, but I don't understand why it isn't showing up as illustrated in the instruction manuals and online tutorials.

  • How to uninstall the BlackBerry desktop manager

    Hello everyone,
Roxio Media manager keeps on installing itself.  I read on this forum that I have uninstall the BB desktop manager, and install it again to solve the issues.  WINDOWS CAN NOT DELETE IT. When I delete the BlackBerry desktop manager, it just tries to install itself again. In the mean time Roxio Media manager keeps on trying to install itself.  DOES RIM HAS UNSTALLATION PROGRAM FOR THE BB DESKTOP MANAGER?  I would appreciate any help.

  • Save the password for Mobile Documents Desktop

    Hi,
since Upgrade to Mobile Documents Windows 1.24 I have to enter the Password at every Boot. Is it possible to save the Password?
    Regards
    Andreas Czech

    Hi,
The admin can specify whether to allow Desktop Client to "save passwords locally". You should contact your admin, to check if they have not disabled the setting.
If they have allowed you to save the password locally, on start in the login screen, you should see a checkbox "Remember my password" option. This will help you to save the password and you will not be asked to enter a password on each boot.

  • Is it possible to see my phone numbers and addresses that I backed up in the blackberry desktop manager

I know it may be a silly question -- but I finally was able to download the blackberry desktop manager and then back up all the data from my blackberry to my computer via the desktop manager.  For my peace of mind, I would like to see some of this data (addresses and phone numbers) just to insure that I did the back up correctly.  Is this possible?
    Solved!

Hi and Welcome to the Forums!
The file that contains the backup data is designed as proprietery to the Backup/Restore process. It is not designed to be read independently. There are some third party readers, can't recall the names (Amber-something-or-other?), but if you search for an application that can read an IPD file, you might find what you are looking for.
    Good luck!

  • Synchronization Problems with BlackBerry Desktop Manager 4.5v and Windows Mail Client

BlackBerry (RIM) Desktop Manager 4.5v synchronization setup does not work properly. I cannot synchronize my desktop calendar because the only desktop application formats available are (<None>, Ascii Import/Export and Yahoo), Windows Mail is not an option!
I contacted BlackBerry and the only response I received was that I need the Outlook Express program to synchronize my desktop calendar.
Microsoft upgraded from the Outlook program to Windows mail to provide a better program, which I happen to like! The idea of purchasing the Outlook Express software when there is nothing wrong with my current mail program does not make any sense to me! And will BlackBerry support any Vista system issues if there are any compatibility problems with the old Microsoft mail client?
Has anyone contacted BlackBerry about this issue? Any ideas how to fix this problem?
Why can’t Blackberry (RIM) resolve the synchronization issue? In addition to this problem, you may find that the Desktop Manager Device Switch Wizard does not function with the Treo 650 and BlackBerry 8830 and the Advanced feature in Backup and Restore does not seem to save the any files that you want to restore.
    BlackBerry Please Help!
    Note:
Microsoft Office Standard 2007 is $399, really expensive! Not sure if you can purchase the mail client separately.
    - Microsoft website: [“Outlook Express has been replaced by Windows Mail, an improved e‑mail program with enhancements such as junk e‑mail filtering and protection against phishing messages.”]

    Hello My8830
You can only synchronize contacts with Windows Mail - you can not synchronize calendar, memos, or tasks.  Outlook express does not have these items, and the version of Windows Mail that I am running also does not have them.  Windows Calendar is seperate from windows mail on my version of Vista.
So to clarify it all, downgrading to Outlook Express will still not get you calendar synchronization as it does not have a calendar.
    Cheers

  • Powerpivot data connection will not save the password

I'm trying to create a Powerpivot workbook with data that users can refresh themselves before analysis.  We don't have Powerpivot data refresh in Sharepoint active, so I can't make use of that service.
When I create a Powerpivot data connection to SQL server using SQL Server Authentication (unchanging read-only username and password), and checking the box to save the password, the connection works fine for refreshing the data as long as I leave the workbook
    open.
If I close the file and re-open it, the password is gone from the data connection and the user cannot refresh the data.
I've tried configuring the data connection with the SQL native client provider and the SQL OLEDB provider and I see exactly the same results.
The connection string gets built with Persist Security Info=True and the Password shows up as hidden text (dots).  It stays this way through refreshes as long as the workbook is open.  However, once I close the file and re-open it, the
connection string no longer has the Password parameter listed at all, not even as hidden text.  Persist Security Info is still there and set to True.  As might be expected, the connection string does not have the information needed to access the
    SQL Server instance.
This type of connection string using SQL Server Authentication still works fine with the password saved when used directly as an Excel data connection, or when used as a data source in Reporting Services.  It's only Powerpivot where the password gets
    blown away.
Is there a workaround for this issue?

    Thanks Jaynet.
Unfortunately, the procedure described in the link you provided does not work for PowerPivot, at least in Excel 2010.
If I create the PowerPivot data connection using "From Database/From SQL Server" there is no option to "Allow saving password".  There is only the checkbox to "Save my password".  There is an "Advanced" button that allows you to set many additional
properties of the data connection, but there is nothing like allow saving password.
If I create the PowerPivot data connection using "From Other Sources/Others (OLEDB/ODBC)" and then click the "Build" button, I get a dialog that is pretty close to the one in your link.  For the Provider tab, I can choose either the Microsoft OLE DB
Provider for SQL Server or the SQL Server Native Client 10.0.  In the connection tab I do have the "Allow saving password" checkbox.  I check this and complete the rest of the data connection configuration.  After I save the file with this data
connection and then re-open it, the data will not refresh.  If I edit the existing connection from the PowerPivot design tab, the Password parameter is completely missing from the connection string.  If I go back into the connection string builder,
there is nothing in the password field (not even dots) and allow saving password is no longer checked.
I've even tried creating my own connection string in Notepad and pasting it into the connection string box (definitely including Persist Security Info=True).  This does not work either and PowerPivot erases the entire Password parameter just the same
as if I had used the builder and checked Allow saving password.
I'm beginning to think that the previous poster, David Hager, has it right.  This may be a bug introduced with the latest version of PowerPivot.  If there is no workaround, it is a total pain for me.

  • Error when updating Playbook OS version via Blackberry Desktop Manager

    Greeting,
I have a batch of old playbooks which having the stack charging issue, but I found that I can update the OS to the newest version (2.1.0.1917) via Blackberry Desktop Manager, then the charging algorithm will be changed to the updated one and go over this dead battery issue. I was able to do so successfully in the past week smoothly on several devices.
But since this Monday, the Desktop Manager is saying "An updated Blackberry Desktop Software component must be installed before you can continue" when downloading the Desktop software and will appear "There was an error updating your software, an error has occurred while downloading the Blackberry Desktop Software. Please try again." and preventing the process. Seems there are some change on the server side starting this week which has caused this problem, but there's no error code to locate the exact issue.
I tried on 2 different computers as well as completed uninstalling and re-installing the Desktop manager, also tried to disable the automatic update as been advised in some threads. So no clue how to deal with it for now. It will be highly appreciate if some one can share some idea.
I've attached the step by step screenshots for reference, where you can find here:
    http://forums.crackberry.com/blackberry-playbook-f222/error-when-updating-playbook-os-version-via-bl...

Sorry I can not help you with your problem but perhaps you can help me.
Can you advise where I can find info on "disable the automatic update"?
just ignore the update if you dont want it on the playbook
    for reloading the OS
First I would like you to do a Back Up of your PlayBook using your computer and BlackBerry Desktop Software.
This can be downloaded for free from http://us.blackberry.com/apps-software/desktop/
After the Back Up is complete I need you to unplug your PlayBook and then push and hold down the Power Button until the unit Force Powers Off.
Now, while Desktop Software is still open on your computer and the PlayBook Powered Off, Connect the PlayBook to your computer.
You should see and error screen from Desktop Software pop up that has the options to Retry, Update, or Cancel.
    QUICKLY choose the Update option.
This will erase all the information off of your PlayBook and Re-Write the Software back onto it. Once it's complete your PlayBook will need to go back through the setup wizard, and you can then perform a restore using Desktop Software to return your information. The only thing that won't come back after the restore are the apps that you downloaded from App World but they can be easily Re-Installed using the My World feature in App World.

  • BlackBerry Desktop Manager on Mac OS 10.4.11

    Hi all,
I'm installing BlackBerry Desktop Manager for my MacBook (OS 10.4.11). However, the software requires at least 10.5.5 and I tried installing it with no success. It says it "requires OS 10.5". Does it mean I have to install 10.5.1 first and then install 10.5.5?
Basically, my question is we CANNOT skip version and install 10.5.8 (which is the latest) on, say, my 10.4.11?

Hello nrugkhapan, and a warm welcome to the forums!
Does it mean I have to install 10.5.1 first and then install 10.5.5?
