Where does my pictures go when I save them off facebook?

It says downloading complete but I can find my pictures.

I was having the same issue and just figured it out. There's a setting you have to turn on to allow Facebook to access your photos. One it's turned on it starts working. Here is the location:
Settings > Privacy > Photos > turn facebook to ON

In what orientation were the photos taken, i.e. portrait or landscape? As a test launch iPhoto with the Option key held down and create a new, test library. Import some photos from your iPhone and test to see if the same problem persists. Does it?

There are several possible causes for the Black Screen issue
1. Permissions in the Library: Back Up and try rebuild the library: hold down the command and option (or alt) keys while launching iPhoto. Use the resulting dialogue to rebuild. Include the option to check and repair permissions.
2. Minor Database corruption: Back Up and try rebuild the library: hold down the command and option (or alt) keys while launching iPhoto. Use the resulting dialogue to rebuild.
3. A Damaged Photo: Select one of the affected photos in the iPhoto Window and right click on it. From the resulting menu select 'Show File (or 'Show Original File' if that's available). Will the file open in Preview? If not then the file is damaged. Time to restore from your back up.
4. A corrupted iPhoto Cache: Trash the com.apple.iPhoto folder from HD/Users/Your Name/Library/ Caches...
5. A corrupted preference file: Trash the com.apple.iPhoto.plist file from the HD/Users/ Your Name / library / preferences folder. (Remember you'll need to reset your User options afterwards. These include minor settings like the window colour and so on. Note: If you've moved your library you'll need to point iPhoto at it again.)
If none of these help:
As a Test:
Hold down the option (or alt) key key and launch iPhoto. From the resulting menu select 'Create Library'

I know it sounds confusing. Essentially I have to re-register to get into my Adobe Photoshop 3.2. But they are no longer giving access codes when you go though the registration process. I checked my "online account" and there are no records of my registration for this. I had this program, used this program and I can even see my pictures all lined up behind the "registration" box that pops up (and then kicks me out of the program when I hit "register later"). I just want a registration number...any number...that will allow me to open up the PS 3.2 and allow me access to my pictures. I was told by one of the more sympathetic online CSR's via email that I could call the 800 number and hopefully get another number, but I run the battery out on my hand held phone waiting on hold for so long...I am not kidding you. This seems like a very very simple matter...just give me an access code...but it has turned remarkably frustrating because I cannot reach a live person to ask. You would think Adobe would not be happy that customers would have to wait so long...because why would you ever want to actually purchase an Adobe product if you know for certain that there is no support for it. It is somewhat making up my mind on Adobe products. Again, I cannot retrieve these pictures with a search, they are not in the digital camera folder as someone advised before. I would love any and all feedback on what to do about this. Is it possible that the files are corrupted? Yes...but why can I clearly see the photos behind the registration box. Please, anyone, help!

Where would my apps go after i dragged them off my doc

I recently downloaded microsoft word and all the other apps that came with it. i dragged them off the bottom doc onto my home screen and now i dont know where to find them... where did they go

The Icons on your Dock are just "shortcuts", what Apple has termed, and "alias" of the application file and icon located somewhere else. When you drag them off the dock, and onto the descktop, they are deleted from the Dock. But you are only deleting the Alias, not the application itself.
Most Applications are found in your root/applications folder. However, if you install an application just for one user, it may be found in an applications folder located in your user directory, under that users name.
To create an alias again in the Dock, for one you mistakenly deleted, simply click and drag the application icon, from its respective folder, back into a place on the Dock. You can also drag data folders, to the right hand side of the Dock, making a shortcut to that folder.

I think the gpu has failed again, if the bios was dead you would get no beeps, it is the bios that generates the hardware failure beeps.
Home brew reflows generally do not last too long or can cause more damage.
The reason the gpu comes loose on most of that vintage was due to 2 problems
1. Overheating
2. Poor quality solder used when the gpu and other motherboard components were flowed at the factory.
Reflowing it does not always work because of the quality of the ball solder they used, also you only get one reflow attempt, doing more than one weakens the original solder even more. Most likely the seller reflowed it shortly before selling it to you.
Proper repair is what is called a reball (solder replacement) of the gpu, not may repair facilities have the equipment to performed this, and is usually expensive procedure depending on the motherboard design.

Where does iphoto place photos when imported

I have been importing photos of a recent trip and need to move them off the hard drive to save space. Where does iPhoto put them and can I access them from an external drive within iPhoto?

By default they are copied to the iPhoto library - but you do not touch them there
you can run iPhoto off of and external drive -
Moving the iPhoto library is safe and simple - quit iPhoto and drag the iPhoto library intact as a single entity to the external drive - depress the option key and launch iPhoto using the "select library" option to point to the new location on the external drive - fully test it and then trash the old library on the internal drive (test one more time prior to emptying the trash)
And be sure that the External drive is formatted Mac OS extended (journaled) (iPhoto does not work with drives with other formats) and that it is always available prior to launching iPhoto
And backup soon and often - having your iPhoto library on an external drive is not a backup and if you are using Time Machine you need to check and be sure that TM is backing up your external drive
After doing this you can delete some photos from the old library instead of deleting the whole library (deleting and emptying the iPhoto trash and the system trash every 100 or so photos ) so you have some of your photos on your main drive and all of them on the external drive - switch libraries using the command-lanch
If you do this you will find iPhoto Library Manager - http://www.fatcatsoftware.com/iplm/ - very helpful in managing the multiple libraries

Can no longer name files when i save them

When i hit Save As there used to be a bar where you could name your file. No there is no longer that option so i just names my word document whatever the first few words are. On top of that, there used to be a drop-down menu where you could choose
different locations to save, and now... nothing. Help me how this is very annoying!
I'l also add in that i didn't change any options prior to this issue, although i had installed a windows update, which i hadn't done in months.
As i went to attach this picture I hit open to find my screenshot and the same thing, no dropdown menu. So it only shows this one random folder and there's no way use the explorer.
Then this site wouldn't allow me to include an image....... totally buying a mac next time.
But in the meantime, any help?

We wonder if there is any luck your issue has been resolved, if you've found solution by yourself. We would appreciate it if you could share with us and we will mark it as answer.
I am supposing you have this issue when you try to save files every time not just in office. Since It is possibly that this issue caused by certain software installation, as arnavsharma mentioned that please check your issue under safe mode.
If this issue persists, try creating a new user account and check if the issue persists there.

Where do the things go when I put them in archive

Migration Assistant doesn't copy files, it copies an account (and the files inside it). You'll need to log out of your current Mac account and when you do you should see that you have (at least) two accounts now: Your Mac account created when you turned on your Mac for the first time and the account(s) imported from your PC. That account should have the same password it did on the PC .

Pictures rotate when I send them from my Facinate

When I attempt to send a photo from my facinate phone, it frequently will rotate the photo 90 degrees.
I cannot seem to rotate back once it is attached to the message.
How can I send pictures always in the same position as they appear in my gallery when I select them to send?

No clue, but there are two settings you can test.
Mail > Edit > Attachments > Always Send Windows-Friendly Attachments

I can't save multple pictures, but I can save them one at a time with "save as" the error I get is listed below.

Could not save a copy as “IMG_2477.jpg” because the file is locked or you do not have the necessary access privileges. Use the ‘Get Info’ command in the Finder to unlock the file or change permissions on the file or enclosing folders.
I have checked the get info for the files in question and they are not blocked. I can save them one at a time under the save as menu option but can not batch save them under the save multple files menu option. Can someone please help me with this?

I did get rid of a few after I set the iphone to not show music which was in the cloud but I still have 2 albums that won't go away. Any more suggestions? Thanks for your help.

Just Quit mail before you shut down your computer.
Check your log-in items to see if Mail got added to the list. If so Delete it from the list.

IPhone 6, and storage.. Why is my phone saying that I don't have storage, when I have transferred all of my pictures to ICloud, and deleted them off of my phone. What is going on...???????

I have uploaded my pictures to ICloud, and i have deleted them off of my phone. My phone is saying that it is out of storage, and that pictures take up more than anything else on my phone, How can that be, I am frustrated, and Apparently I am not the only one experiencing these problems. My friends that have the 6+ are experiencing the same issues.

Did you delete your photos in your deleted photo folder? I you didn't their still on your phone taking up space.

Why are my photos not as sharp when I import them into Facebook from the Aperture Projects file, compared to when I 'share' them with Facebook within the Aperture programme? There is a noticeable difference and has been spoiling my photos for some time.

Hi all, I take wildlife photos (mostly birds) as a hobby, and have become frustrated with the quality of my photos recently when shared online, particularly Facebook.
I started blaming my camera ( a Canon 7D) as I changed it a few months ago from a Canon 550D, and I soon noticed that the images were not as good. Then I realised it was when I started using Aperture.
I started by using the 'share' option within Aperture but I soon realised that then I have no control over the creation of an album, and the photos start appearing on facebook before I have finished uploading them and given them captions. Plus if I subsequently move them or export them to my back up drive then they disappear from Facebook!
So I started creating albums within Facebook and then importing the photos from the aperture projects file on my computer. Because they are imported I can then delete or move the aperture file and the photos stay on facebook. Otherwise my macbook was becoming completely full.
However to test my theory I have today uploaded the same photo edited in Aperture stored in the same projects folder using the two different methods described above, and there is a very distinct difference between the quality of the two images. The shared ones are very much sharper than the imported ones.
I am a computer novice and don't know how to check what the quality settings are, or how to adjust anything to improve the way the photos go into facebook. I do have a manual but I just cant understand it :-(
I have tried a free sample of Lightroom 5 and my photos look amazing, there is such a difference, but I don't want to give up with Aperture unless the problem really can't be solved.

Generally I would not use Facebook for sharing any photos, it compresses the photos substantially, and when you have shadows and dark colours you get visible "bands" where there should be subtle gradients, ie at sunsets and sunrises.
It sounds like you are using two methods to upload to Facebook:
1. Sharing from within Aperture, which basically syncs Facebook with your Aperture album, so any changes made at either end gets synced, hence the deletions from Albums, although the original file should still be in your library, just removed rom the album. It is like a playlist in iTunes.
2. Exporting pics and uploading to Facebook from the browser.
I am not sure how method 1 gets compressed, but I know that uploading hi-res jpegs to Facebook using method 2 results in poor quality images.
I wouldn't even bother comparing option 1 or 2, and they will both be poor images once you view them on Facebook, as opposed to viewing uploaded images on proper image sharing / hosting sites.
Your problem is not with Aperture, it is using Facebook for showing your work.
If you export pics form Aperture at high res jpegs or TIFFs your images will be fine.
If you insist to use Facebook as your way to share your work, then your workflow should be this:
1. Right click images you want to share.
2. Select Export version.
3. Export as 100% size and ensure the export settings are set at 100% quality.
4. Upload this pic into Facebook.
This will get you the best image size and resolution on Facebook.
