Where does my Workspace file belong?

For years, I have been using the same workspace by copying the file an pasting it in the workspaces folder in the Photoshop directory. Well, in CS5, that folder does not exist as far as I can find. So where can I paste my workspace file so the workspace switcher will see it?

I know that, but I don't want to make a new work space every time I upgrade versions, or get a new computer. Originaly, I did just that, but was able to save the workspace to a location of my choice so it could be shared with others, or copied and pasted the file for use in future releases. Where is that "new workspace" file created?

Where does "Library" directory location belong.

Where does Library directory location belong. Had to move things around and not sure it got back in the right place.. /Users/forister/Documents .. forister is the administrator and only user now after trying out profiles.
Then I wanted to install something and it said to put it in this location, but it isn't working. Did I screw it up?
New Mac user.

"~/Library" refers to a folder (directory) in your home folder, not in /System/ or elsewhere. (The tilde is UNIX shorthand for the current user's home folder.)
You haven't said which version of OS X you are using but if it is Snow Leopard (10.6.x) or older, ~/Library should be visible in Finder views of your home folder (the one with the house icon). If you are using Lion, you won't see it there but you will see it from the "Go" menu if you hold down the option key when you click on that menu.
Another way to get to the folder in Finder is to type Command + Shift + G, then type "~/Library/Services" (without the quotes) & press the Go button.
As the Read Me for QuickFiles says, you may have to create the Services folder in ~/Library/ if it doesn't already exist. To do that, open ~/Library/ & type Command + Shift + N, then type "Services" to name the untitled folder, then press return.

Where does PSE store files on a Mac

I just installed PSE 10 on my MacBook. I had been using Iphoto'08 but when I bought a new camera, I wanted something more sophisticated both for organizing my photos and for editing and enhancing them.
So far I installed PSE 10 successfully and have been playing with it. The Organizer works well and does what I want it to do. My intention is to use Organizer for new photos and leave the old ones on Iphoto for now. However, what I cannot work out is where PSE stores the files on the Mac after I work on them. It does not look like they are back in Iphoto as I have made changes to photos that are not reflected in there.
Can anyone enlighten me on this?

Just to clarify: Under normal circumstances the organizer is nothing but a database. It doesn't move/copy/etc anything, just makes a note of where it is. The one exception is when you use the From iPhoto command to import. In that case, organizer makes a duplicate to avoid writing into the iphoto library, which could easily make you lose all your photos.
If you mean you have images in organizer and you want to find their physical location, right-click the image in question, choose Show Properties, and then you should see something like this:

Where does FCPX store files converted for YouTube etc?

FCPX clearly does some kind of conversion/compression before uploading a video to YouTube. I wondered where the resultant files were kept?

I wondered too. So I shared something to Vimeo and it created a Shared Items folder inside the Final Cut Projects folder inside the folder for the project shared. The .mov file is in there.

Where does itunes put files downloaded to pc from the cloud?

I reformatted my pc. If I restore music from itunes match, where on my computer does it place the files? I also have the option to restore from Carbonite. If I put all the music back in its original location, how do I "coordinate" with itunes and itunes match?

Where does iMovie save files

A friend uses iMovie (sorry, not sure which version) and saves his files onto a large external hard drive. However, he keeps getting messages that the hard drive on the computer is full cose to capacity. Does iMovie place backups, or any other files, on the computer's hard disc without you realising it? Is so, where are these files and can they safely be deleted?
Any other ideas?

The entire iMovie project is saved within the one project folder, the one with a star in the icon. This must be stored in the Movies Folder or, if on an external hard disk, one called that. Moreover the external hard disk must be connected by firewire.

Where does applet.policy files go?

does any body know where to put applet.policy file? i am running
appache so i believe it should go under c:\webdocs\applet.policy

When I share a file to YouTube, where does the output file live? I want also to make a DVD. And is this a best practice or is there a better way?

I want also to make a DVD, but can't see where the .mov files are.
And is this a best practice or is there a better way to do this, such as with a master file?

I would export to a file saved on your drive as h.264, same frame size. Then import that into youtube.
I have never used FCP X to make a DVD but I assume that it will build the needed vob mpeg 2 source material for the disk.
I used to use Toast & IDVD. Toast is great.
To "see" the files created by FCP 10.1.1 for YouTube, rt. (control) click on the Library Icon in your Movies/show package contents/"project"/share.

Where does my backup files reside in windows

I backed up my ipad (using iTunes) to my laptop (running Windows 7). Where can I find the backup files? Also, the ipad that I backed is no longer mine. My wife has an iPad Air 2. We want to get the content (especially the pics and videos) of the backup onto her iPad. Can we do this, even if the backup is from Tom's iPad, and my wifes ipad is Mary's iPad?

You do not have the ability to pick and choose certain aspects of the backup file to restore to another device. A restore is either all or none. You can purchase 3rd party software to open a backup file and try to remove some parts of it. The backup files is a special SQLite file that needs special software to read. It is really intended just to use to restore an iOS device if necessary. However, this support document will tell you where your backup file is located on the computer. Where does Photoshop save files?

I have Photoshop CS6 and I saved a copy of a file I edited. Unfortunately, I thought it would save in the same folder it was in previously. It saved it in a folder called fMroKMw4STeoEwnMnJeX6A. I can't find any folder with that name on my IMac. Can anyone tell me where this folder is?

Better yet, open Photoshop and go to File > Recent Files Open the one you edited, and ctrl-click (Mac) on its' tab and choose "reveal in Finder.
The Finder window with your file should open up and you trace it from there.
While you have it open, use File > Save As... to choose the location you want to save it in..

I've downloaded couple of files from the browser...I can see the files in the downloaded list of nokia browser..but cannot see the files in the memory card...
I've downloaded ".jar" and ".jad" extension files..2 files..

No they are not there in the downloaded folder. After downloading it prompted me to install it. I selected not to install it. I can see all the other files downloaded there but cannot see these two files.
I again tried to download them into the browser..but this time it throws me error message 'error" and then exits...
I guess its behaving like this because I selected the option "no" when it initially prompted me..
I'm afraid that my phone gets virus if I connect to my system to I'm doing this way...Any other ideas....would be helpful...
