Can anybody tell the location of NetWeaver log file, that contains runtime exception and other information regarding execution of J2EE project.

the default trace files present in the cluster folder are very useful.
c:\usr\sap\sid\JC<XX>\j2ee\cluster
inside this you have dispatcher and server nodes. under each such folder you have the log files. These log files contain the trace files. dispatcher\log will contain how he dispatcher is going to look for the server nodes.
server\log will contain the real time problem.

You do not have the ability to pick and choose certain aspects of the backup file to restore to another device. A restore is either all or none. You can purchase 3rd party software to open a backup file and try to remove some parts of it. The backup files is a special SQLite file that needs special software to read. It is really intended just to use to restore an iOS device if necessary. However, this support document will tell you where your backup file is located on the computer. Where does the INI file reside?

I've seen lots of forum posts on using the Properties class to read an INI file, but nothing on locating the INI file in the file system. Most of the examples use a hard-coded simplistic path (c:\temp\myapp.ini) or just the file name with no path.
From my meager knowledge of Java, I think the INI file should be deployed in the package directory with rest of the class files for the package. At any rate, the Java class reading the INI file cannot have a hard-coded directory path since the path may vary from install to install.
What Java statements can be used to identify the path for the run-time package? Where is the best place to place the INI file?

You put it somewhere in your classpath, as you describe. Then this.getClass().getResourceAsStream("/myapp.ini")gets you an InputStream from which you can read its contents.

Where does the logging in RDBMSRealm go --and-- are some JavaDocs missing?

I see that a LogOutputStream is created in the example
class RDBMSRealm, but where do all of the log
statements go. The LogOutputStream is created as:
log = new LogOutputStream("RDBMSRealm");
but I do not see and file called RDBMSRealm and/or
I do not see the log statements on stdout.
BTW, I do have logging set to the most detailed
level (Info) from the console if this matters.
Also, are there some JavaDocs missing from
Weblogic's Reference website at

Does anyone know what I need to do to get the RDBMS Realm log to start on
WL6.0.
About the missing JavaDocs: Also, if I am doing development using these
classes I still do not
understand why they are not on the 6.0 refernce site!
About the missing JavaDocs,
I see java docs for a lot of classes, but what document do I use that
helps me to understand the entire framework? The Programming
Weblogic Security does give this information.
Example question: how do I get a reference to the realm to create
users? Should I even be doing this?

then this information will be sent to stdout. This is set to false by
default, as there is a lot of information, and it is a big performance
hit.
I think weblogic likes to avoid some of its APIs being public, which is
annoying at times, but probably reasonable

Where do archived log files go?

Hi Guys,
This should be a simple one but is turning out to be a real
pain. Where do the log files go when they are archived? I am
looking in the logs directory but cannot find them anywhere ...
even after searching the entire hard drive. I have maximum number
of log files set to 10 and the maximum log file size set to 5000kb.

I'm having the same frustration as the original poster. I
have CF8 installed under Apache HTTP Servers (windows) using the
defaults mostly.
In CF7, if I archived a log file, the old file would be
renamed with a numeric suffix (application.log.1,
application.log.2, etc.) in the cf_root/logs subdirectory, and a
new log file would be created. However, in CF8, the archive
function seems to just delete the old file and create a new one.
I've tried searching fot the archived file with no results. I've
also restarted CF; still no archived logs found.
Is there something in the CF8 Administrator that must be
explicitly set to active archiving? The only setting I see is
"Maximum number of archives: 10" which is the default.

Where does the iPhoto library reside?

Where does the iPhoto library reside on your hd? when I go to the search bar above, it shows 2 libraries! I am about out of hd space so I am hoping that it has been duplicated somehow. It's about 36GB. =)

By default it's in your Pictures Folder.
If space is an issue you can move the Library to an external disk:
Make sure the drive is formatted Mac OS Extended (Journaled)
1. Quit iPhoto
2. Copy the iPhoto Library from your Pictures Folder to the External Disk.
3. Hold down the option (or alt) key while launching iPhoto. From the resulting menu select 'Choose Library' and navigate to the new location. From that point on this will be the default location of your library.
4. Test the library and when you're sure all is well, trash the one on your internal HD to free up space.

Where does the song metadata reside (cover art work and other information)?

I edit the metadata for each album/song - add cover art, correct any album name or artists erros, make some notes to myself to help search/browse. Where does this data reside - with the song file or the library file or somewhere else? BTW I don't download the cover artwork from iTunes. I just find it online and copy and paste it into the metadata window. I have too many obscure albums to rely on iTunes.
The reason I ask is because I double backup my music and iTunes files. Normally, when I rip new albums I just add the new files and updated library files to me backup hard drives, by sorting by the modified date. But I'm now going back and editing all of my oder albums/songs metadata as I just described. In order to make sure this information gets backed up I'm simply backing up the entire iTunes Music folder, which takes all night cause it's around 500GBs. But I'd prefer to only add the modified files to the backup, which usually only takes a few moments.
When I sort by modified date the albums/songs I edited metadata for do not show up as modified that day. So, is it pointless to always backup the entire folder when all I have to do is back up what was modified? And if so, what are those files?
Also, is there a good app that will compare two hard drives and keep them in synch? So that I can basically do what I want to do automagically? Set one as the master and one as the backup, and ahve the app always synch the backup to the master. That would be nice!

If you're not downloading artwork from iTunes, all of the tags and artwork are stored with the individual song files. Some iTunes-specific data, like play count and rating, are stored in the iTunes Library database file.

If you are asking where to find the log file, it will be on the Siebel server running that EAI process (so you may have to look at multiple servers to find it).
The exact location varies depending on operating system.
Windows -- \siebsrvr\log
Non-Windows -- /siebsrvr/enterprises/[enterprise]/[server]/log

I have no problem logging the trace statements when i run the application as standalone from flex builder.
I deployed the same application in the Weblogic server. Where does Flex compiler log Trace statements when deployed to application server?
Is there anyother way to log the statements?

Where does PSE store files on a Mac

I just installed PSE 10 on my MacBook. I had been using Iphoto'08 but when I bought a new camera, I wanted something more sophisticated both for organizing my photos and for editing and enhancing them.
So far I installed PSE 10 successfully and have been playing with it. The Organizer works well and does what I want it to do. My intention is to use Organizer for new photos and leave the old ones on Iphoto for now. However, what I cannot work out is where PSE stores the files on the Mac after I work on them. It does not look like they are back in Iphoto as I have made changes to photos that are not reflected in there.
Can anyone enlighten me on this?

Just to clarify: Under normal circumstances the organizer is nothing but a database. It doesn't move/copy/etc anything, just makes a note of where it is. The one exception is when you use the From iPhoto command to import. In that case, organizer makes a duplicate to avoid writing into the iphoto library, which could easily make you lose all your photos.
If you mean you have images in organizer and you want to find their physical location, right-click the image in question, choose Show Properties, and then you should see something like this:

The controllers can be accessed only by code, calling the wd_get_api on the wd_this, wd_comp_controller attributes.
Ofcourse, you can check the interface methods etc of if_wd_view_controller in se24.

By default all OC4J stderr and stdout messages go in following file:

Actually my problem is "Farsi Language" (RTL) :
when I print the data retrieved from DB into Log file, it's not readable ! eg : ???????
first I Had the Idea that JDeveloper's Log viewer is not able to show Farsi characters and I wanted to view it in another text editor.
but now I have the same problem in other text editors as well.
I think the encoding in which the log is written needs to be changed into say : UTF8
So , where can I change that encoding ?!

Does listener log file need to be purged in Oracle 11g DB

We have the Oracle 11g database setup. I have a query as to if it is required to purge the listener log file in Oracle 11g database. I believe that the size of the listener log file is infinite and we need to manually purge the listener log file or is there an automatic log rotation of the listener log file?
I hope my query is clear that if it is required to manually purge the listener log file or is there an automatic log rotation for this file.
