That's no bad thing Chuck.  It indicates that you have better things to do than constantly refresh the forum LOL.
I'm having a wee posting spree today after lacking the inclination to respond to the same old threads for the last few days.    But I do love it when people get all in a tizzy complaining about stuff that is right under their nose (so to speak).   So I guess my criteria for responding is often based as much on how big a smile it puts on my face, as to how much I am helping the OP.   Unfortunately that irreverent approach gets me into trouble at times, and one of the moderators deleted one of my illustrated replies just a few days ago.  It took me a few minutes to work out why it had been deleted.  The subtext was 'risking one eye', and I eventually realized that the implied 'risk' could definitely be seen as offensive to some people.

  • Where does one set space after paragraph in the new Pages 5.0? It used to be under text in the Inspector in the previous version, but I just can't find it in this new version.

Where does one set space after paragraph in the new Pages 5.0? It used to be under text in the Inspector in the previous version, but I just can't find it in this new version. Paragraphs seem to only be dealt with in styles, and the Formatting window for text doesn't seem to have the space after paragraph contrtol that the older Inspector had. What am I missing?

Sorry I did this without looking:
    Side panel >Text > Style > Spacing > Turn the triangle > Before Paragraph/After Paragraph/
This is the trouble with the Peeky Boo Contextual Interface that so many wiser heads than mine love to love.

  • Where does one find the Oracle Best Practice/recommendations for how to DR

What is the Oracle Best Practice for install/deployment and configuration of ODI 11g for Disaster Recovery?
We have a project that is using Oracle ODI 11g (11.1.1.5).
We have configured all the other Oracle FMW components as per the Oracle DR EDG guides. Basically using the Host ip name/aliasing concept to ‘trick’ the secondary site into thinking
it is primary and continue working with minimal (or no) manual reconfiguration. But will this work for ODI? The FMW DR guide has sections for SOA, WebCenter and IdM, but nothing for ODI.
Since ODI stores so much configuration information in the Master Repository..when this DB gets ‘data guarded’ to the secondary site and promoted to Primary…ODI will still think it is at the ‘other’ site. Will this break the actual agents running the scenarios?
Where does one find the Oracle Best Practice/recommendations for how to DR ODI properly?
We are looking for a solution that will allow a graceful switchover/failover with minimal manual re-configuration.

    Hi all,
I m currently testing external components with Windows Server and I want to test Oracle 11g R2.
The only resource I have is this website and the only binaries seem to be for Linux OS.You have one other HUGE resource that, while it won't answer your current question, you'd better start getting familiar with if you are going to use Oracle. That is the complete and official documentation, found at tahiti.oracle.com

Does anybody know how I can upgrade my Oracle 11.1.0.7 version to the R2 release?

  • Where does one find the "file browser" option in V10 like the one in V2?

Where does one find the "file browser" option in V10 like the one in V2

The file browser was more or less the precursor to bridge in photoshop elements 1,2 and 3 and photoshop 7 and cs, except it was built into the actual application instead of being separate like bridge.
The file browser was not an organizer as such, which was also along side the file browser in photoshop elements 3 on windows.
some info on the file browser in photoshop cs:

  • HT5312 Where does one go to set up a rescue e mail? I just bought an iPad and when I try to purchase from iTunes iris asking for two security answers and I have forgotten one

Where does one go to set up a rescue email

The procedure is detailed in the article you asked this question from; this is meant to be done when setting up the security questions and not after forgetting the answers to them. If needed, click here, phone Apple, and ask for the Account Security team.

  • Where does one search for ALL the APPS that are available?

Where does one search for All the apps that are available ?

If you don't see any messages, not have anti-malware running or the Firewall on, try installing the Mac OS X 10.6.8 Update Combo
It's ok to do this even though you are already running v10.6.8 (according to your profile).
Restart your Mac after the combo in installed, try the App Store.
Also... if you have an app called Little Snitch installed, that can prevent a connection to the App Store.

  • Where does one get the latest CS4 Patch?

I installed CS4 but don't know where the latest patches are? Where can one go to find out about those and download them?

    Thank you.
I have the EX1. I just found out CS3 has a patch which makes it X.D CAM EX compatible. Given the fact Cineform will not yet work with CS4, I still wonder whether it isn't too soon to jump into CS4. CS3 has the advantage of being tested, it was designed for XP (which is what I'm using) and it is compatible with Cineform right now. On the other hand CS4 is the future. Which way would you go?

  • Where does one get OS 9?

I have a white iBook G3 with a reformatted hard drive but no OS 9 to drop on it.
Yesterday I was planning on recycling this machine. Then this morning I realized it'd be great for a special task that only OS 9 can handle.
    leads greatly appreciated!

    PS: my CL post: http://newyork.craigslist.org/brk/sys/1594894771.html

    Hi, Jowie -
Since it's a G4 (AGP) model, that opens things up quite a bit.
You can use any retail (white label) OS 9 Install CD with that model - OS 9.0, 9.0.4, 9.1, or 9.2.1. You can then use download updaters to bring it up to the version you need -
Article #60791 - Mac OS 9.0.4 - Download and Info
Article #75103 - Mac OS 9.1 - Download and Info
Article #120030 - Mac OS 9.2.1 - Download and Info
Article #75186 - Mac OS 9.2.2 - Download and Info
Note that the preceding updaters must be installed in sequence. For example, if you use a retail OS 9.0.4 Install CD and want to end up at OS 9.2.2, you would need to apply the updates for OS 9.1, 9.2.1, and 9.2.2.
I referred to retail OS 9 Install CDs rather than original Software Install or Software Restore CDs because the original disks are extremely difficult to find. A Restore CD also is not easy to use - it is not difficult to accidentally erase the whole drive when using one of those. Also, it is very hard to get just the OS 9 install from one of the Restore CDs - they are designed to revert the drive to the original as-shipped configuration, including any additional software originally bundled with the machine.
So, where to get retail OS 9 Install CDs....
When Apple stops selling a particular OS version (usually because that version has been replaced by a later version) they apparently sell off their stock of retail disks to 3rd-party vendors. These vendors still make them available. In the U.S., other than LEMSwap there are sources like this one -
    http://hardcoremac.stores.yahoo.net/
I don't know whether that source, or others like it, will accept a purchase from buyers located in other than the U.S. - some sellers will, some won't.
You can also check with an Apple User Group for their suggestions - most big cities and universities have one. You can search for one near you here -
    http://www.apple.com/usergroups/
EBay is another possibility, but be cautious - sometimes a seller there will describe a model-specific (gray or gray-blue label) disk as being suitable for any model MAC, when that is not true.
Another item to consider, perhaps. You're located in the U.K., so might need, or want, to acquire the International English version of the OS rather than the North American English version. Unlike OSX (whose install disks contain all available languages), OS 9 comes in one language version per disk - and there is no way to convert an installed OS 9 to a different language.
I'm not sure what all the differences are between the International Ennglish and the North American English versions, except that the download updater(s) used must match the language version of the installed OS 9.
One difference is in the keyboard layout - the Int'l English layout is a bit different that the NA English one, placing certain characters (such as the symbol for monetary pound) in more convenient locations. There is a choice of keyboard layouts in OS 9 - for example, a machine running NA English can be set to use the keyboard layout for Int'l English. Whether this would be sufficient, I don't know. Another reason to consult an Apple User Group, I imagine.

  • Hi, I need a stand alone suite of applications, where does one find an early version? Unless??

Hi, I need a stand alone suite of applications, CS or later, preferably later, but one that works well with either a ppc mac or an intel core2duo mac. Does anyone have any suggestions as to where the best place is to purchase an older version that will work? This is unless Adobe has allowed and defined what a year of use is, in such a way that someone who's restricted in the amount of time to use and learn the software, can purchase a years worth of use and updates and have 5yrs to use a defined year's worth of user time and all updates in that year? And once the block of time is used be able to purchase additional blocks of time. It would definitely make a sale with me if Adobe "offered" this, as I have too many responsibility restrictions to be able to learn for an extended time period in one sitting, but I do have a great desire to learn and use this software. If Adobe doesn't offer this, I hope they will in the future.
Any help would be "Greatly" Appreciated.
    Thank You,
    Randall

Thank you, It figures that that would be the case. Question: Where would the best place be to look for this, and what should I be aware of so as to make sure it is a working copy? I figure it won't be supported being it is old and from another party, but I do want something that "works", and something I can also get the training manuals/dvds for. I wouldn't mind the subscription option if Adobe would package a minimum amount of hours and updates that one could use in a certain length of time, say 3-5 yrs, for those who are lite users who haven't the time to totally dedicate themselves to the use and learning of the software due to their plate being full already. If one used up this block of time within a year, then the normal subscription rules would apply with unlimited use within that subscription year.
Again Thanks for your reply, it is most appreciated.
    Randall
