Where does the Ducker stand for in L.E.?

Hi,
I recently put a topic on the forum to find out if there was a sidechain possible in Logic express. With this side chain i wanted to send my kickdrum signal to a compressor from (for instance) the bassline or Hi hat. Unfortunatly there wasn't.
But now i found a side chain in Logic Express at the Ducker.....Whats a Ducker?
It works on a bus. When you select a bus you can select also a plug-in for that bus. When you select dynamic suddenly there is the ducker, and when you select that it gives you the possibility to select a track in a side chain.....I must say, it gives a pumping sound, but what exactly does a ducker? I've tried to search all different manuals from logic express and even plug-in manual for Logic pro but there is nothing mentioned about a ducker.
Let me know,
Regards,
Lewis
Macbook Pro 2,16 Ghz intel Core 2 Duo   Mac OS X (10.4.8)   Logic express 7.2.3

Its what broadcast people use when they use a voice over. Music in supermarkets for instance, ducks when a voice asks for Mr blah blah to the checkout, then raises again gently to the original level. Read about it under compression.

In the Camera Calibration tab in Camera Raw or Lightroom, we can choose the profile from the menu.
There are so many profiles in the menu, ACR 4.4, ACR 3.3...What does the "ACR" stand for ?

ACR x.x designates an older style of profile where Adobe named their profiles for the version of Adobe Camera RAW that first supported the camera--basically the vintage of the profile, so if Adobe updated the profile then you'd be able to pick whether you wanted the old one or the new one.

  • What does the "s" stand for in iPhone4s

What does the "s" stand for in iPhone4s??

Yes, that is correct. There is no right answer 100%. I don't really know how to explain it. But you have to see where I am coming from. I guess you can think about it like this. S is a word. The word was defined as speed 2 years ago. Now it is being used again. Since S was already defined it does not need to be defined again. It just makes sense that apple would be consistent in their product names.
But that isn't what they said. They said "that's the probmlem i'm having with people saying its siri.." In other words, that's why I am not so sure siri is the correct answer. They are just curious, that's all. If someone said, "The iPhone is to die for" would you think they would actually die for an iPhone? Like I said, just relax. You don't need to go attack people by saying that they need mental help when they are just curious about something.
However, you are entitled to your opinion. I have presented my case and you seem to be getting pretty upset over my comments so I think this whole thing should be let go. There are plenty of posts here for the OP to make a decision for themselves and if he/she needs more clarification he/she will ask.

what does the mm stand for on my model of my ipad mini that is also cellulat?

Copied from another discussion, from Phil0124
The MM or Millenium Media according to what I can find, refers to the CDMA variation of the Cellular iPad for Verizon Networks.
The non MM version is for GSM carriers like AT&T.

As far as I see, the red number shows that the recipient has accepted the stream.  If you delet the stream the red number is gone.
I am not sure -this may be a coincidence: Yesterday I saw the red number "1" appear everytime I received a notification when a comment was added to one of the images I posted. When I read the comment, the number went away. The number is gone now, but I still have the stream.

The manpage won't tell ya... Not sure what you mean. This is what I see on my Linux OEL4 and OEL5 :
    DESCRIPTION
Runlevel reads the system utmp file (typically /var/run/utmp) to locate the runlevel
record, and then prints the previous and current system runlevel on its standard
output, separated by a single space. If there is no previous system runlevel, the

  • What Does the NS Stand For in Method

Hi. What does NS stand for in methods (or is it a function?) like NSArray, NSFetch, etc. Why is it in purple color?
    Thank you.
    Gbu.

Many of the Cocoa frameworks are decended from NeXTSTEP (when Apple aquired NeXT), hence the prefix NS.  Frequently when the documentation mentions a class, it is a link to the class reference.

does anyone know what these letters stand for?

    Hi Alexandre,
    Yes, really an excellent question. You will be fine with the WLC Compatibilityas long as you use Version 4.1 or higher;
    Configuring Country Codes
Controllers and access points are designed for use in many countries with varying regulatory requirements. The radios within the access points are assigned to a specific regulatory domain at the factory (such as -E for Europe), but the country code enables you to specify a particular country of operation (such as FR for France or ES for Spain). Configuring a country code ensures that each radio's broadcast frequency bands, interfaces, channels, and transmit power levels are compliant with country-specific regulations.
Generally, you configure one country code per controller, the one matching the physical location of the controller and its access points. However, controller software release 4.1 or later allows you to configure up to 20 country codes per controller. This multiple-country support enables you to manage access points in various countries from a single controller.
Note Although the controller supports different access points in different regulatory domains (countries), it requires all radios in a single access point to be configured for the same regulatory domain. For example, you should not configure a Cisco 1231 access point's 802.11b/g radio for the US (-A) regulatory domain and its 802.11a radio for the Great Britain (-E) regulatory domain. Otherwise, the controller allows only one of the access point's radios to turn on, depending on which regulatory domain you selected for the access point on the controller. Therefore, make sure that the same country code is configured for both of the access point's radios.

OU stands for Organizational Unit and is a part of Windows Server Active Directory. When you add an Organizational Unit to Active Directory, this allows you to create a category for computers, or for users, or both. For example, in a high school, I may create an OU for Students and have all my student accounts within this OU, and an OU for Staff, and have all my staff accounts in this OU. Now I can apply GPO's, or Group Policy Objects, to this Organizational Unit, such as Interface controls if I want to lock down student interfaces for example. You can also configure OU's with computers in them. So for example, I may join a set of teacher computers to the Staff Computers OU within Active Directory after these machines have been joined to the domain, and then apply a Policy on that OU that says that ONLY staff accounts may log into these computers to prevent students from logging onto a staff machine.

  • Avant Garde Gothic BT what does the BT stand for?

I am producing some work for a company, in whose style guide it specifies 'ITV Avant Garde Gothic BT' - I have Avant Garde Gothic, but cannot find any decent reference to what the BT might mean. Is it a different version of the font? Any help on this would be greatly appreciated.

I have been looking into this further - according to MyFonts.com, "This ITC font, digitized by Bitstream, is no longer available due to ITC's termination of licensing agreements with many resellers in January 2001. We leave it on display at MyFonts for completeness, since it has been a Bitstream font for several years. However, Adobe offers the original font for sale at MyFonts"
Does this mean that Adobe's version is identical to Bitstream's? What are the differences between these and Monotype's version? Does anyone know how many versions of Avant Garde Gothic exist? Gosh, its all very complicated..
