== Where Firefox stores the FLV files in windows 7

FLV files played by the Flash plugin are usually streamed and not saved to the hard drive.
They may be kept in the memory cache during the playing.

  • Any way to change the location where itunes stores the backup files?

I am running low on my C: drive in XP. Any way to change the location where itunes stores the backups of my various devices?

i am currently in the same situation. i purchased an external hard drive and set itunes to save to it in the preferences, and this worked, but only for new additions. all of my current music still plays from my mac HD and not the external. i am assuming i will need to re-add every song. the only plus is that when i transferred my songs to the external, it saved my settings. hopefully it saves the play counts.

  • Where to store the ppk file in server?

    Hi All,
I am pushing the files to remote server using SFTP with ppk authentication.
I wrote the program to connect to remote path by keeping the ppk file in class path and working fine.
for testing this would be fine but as application moves from system to system, ppk file has to be updated.
    so I want to store this ppk file in particular server location and want to download this ppk file at runtime;
can you please suggest the standard server location where we generally store ppks?
and how can we load the file from this server location?

Here is some extra infomation, i did the war file in eclipse. but this is the structure of the war file
    http://www.java-tips.org/other-api-tips/eclipse/how-to-make-war-file-in-eclipse.html
A WAR file must contain the following directories (in addition to its root directory)
    WEB-INF
    WEB-INF/classes
    WEB-INF/lib
The root directory contains JSPs (covered in the next chapter), HTML files, JavaScript files, and CSS files.
WEB-INF contains deployment descriptors such as web.xml.
WEB-INF/classes contains the compiled code (.class files) and may optionally contain property files. Just as with any Java classes, the directory structure must match the package structure, therefore this directory typically contains several subdirectories corresponding to the classes contained in it.
WEB-INF/lib contains JAR files containing any library dependencies our code
    might have.
The root directory, WEB-INF, and WEB-INF/classes directories can have sub directories. Any resources on a subdirectory of the root directory (other than
WEB-INF) can be accessed by prepending the subdirectory name to its file name. For example, if there was a subdirectory called css containing a CSS file called style.css, this CSS file could be accessed in JSPs and HTML files in the root directory by the following line:
    <link rel="stylesheet" type="text/css" media="screen" href="css/style.css" />
Notice the css prefix to the file name, corresponding to the directory where the CSS file resides.
To create our WAR file "from scratch", create the above directory structure in any directory in your system, then follow the following steps:
    1. Copy the web.xml file to WEB-INF.
    2. Create the following directory structure under WEB-INF/classes: net/ensode/glassfishbook/simpleapp.
    3. Copy SimpleServlet.class to the simpleapp directory from step 2.
    4. From the command line, issue the following command from the directory right above WEB-INF: jar cvf simpleapp.war.
    Thanks
    Martin

  • How to change the directory where firefox stores the bookmarks

I want to setup firefox so it will store all files, including the bookmarks, to another directory than the default directory.
    example d:\backup\mozilla\firefox\
This will make it easier for me to backup these files.
How can I do this ?

Try using profile manager that may allow you to setup a profile on the d:\ drive if so that is where the bookmarks will then be stored. (If that does not work resort to manually editing the profile.ini)

  • How do you CHANGE the location (away from Drive C) where Firefox stores temporary files?

I know where Firefox stores temporary files. I want to CHANGE this location away from Drive C to decrease writes to an SSD. Thank you.

    Thank you.
This function may be one of the few things that IE does better than Firefox. IE lets you change the temporary file location in Tools - Internet options - Settings. Firefox developers should make this task easier and put the instructions in the Help file where they can be easily found.
Since I use an SSD for Drive C, I have learned that any file(s) that are frequently written to should be moved elsewhere to a conventional HDD.

    Where is the bookmarks stored?
I Install the Firefox once again since I upgrade my computer.
And I try to move the bookmarks from the old computer to the new one.
But I can't find anyone of them.
Is there any folder just like "favourite" to store the html file?
I really want to find out the bookmarks because actually i can't remember all the website that are important to me~ URGENT!!!~THANKS~

You can move file named places.sqlite from your old profile to the new one. It contains bookmarks and browsing history.
Here's a knowledge base article about it: [[Recovering important data from an old profile]]
If you don't care about saving your current bookmarks, you can skip creating new profile (Firefox does it by itself at first run anyway).
I'd might suggest you to install addon https://addons.mozilla.org/en-US/firefox/addon/2410/|Xmarks Bookmark and Password Sync]. It is a free web service which synchronizes bookmarks and (optionally) passwords with central server, and then to other computers, if you installed it on more. You may treat is as a backup too.

  • When I try to File Save As on an .FLV movie, Firefox automatically changes the filetype to .mp4 while Chrome for instance retains the .FLV file type. I wanted to see why this is and how it can be fixed to work similarly to Chrome. Thanks.

If that file is an FLV file then Firefox should save it as such and not change the file extension.
Start Firefox in <u>[[Safe Mode]]</u> to check if one of the extensions or if hardware acceleration is causing the problem (switch to the DEFAULT theme: Firefox/Tools > Add-ons > Appearance/Themes).
*Don't make any changes on the Safe mode start window.

I keep getting the message: "what should Firefox do with this file" in Windows XP every time I want to download a file, e.g., adobe, excel, etc. How can this annoying message be deleted? The check box to "open file automatically" does not work!

    cor-el,
Thanks for your prompt reply. However, the sources you gave do not seem to apply exactly to my situation. I have attached some screenshots that show what the dialogue box looks like for a pdf download, and what my settings in the Apps panel of Options are. You will note in the first screenshot that I have checked the box to handle this file type automatically; however, the next time I try to download a file of that type, the same dialogue box appears looking exactly like the one shown, so checking the "automatic" option appears to do nothing. The files to be downloaded from my Gmail messages are not generic or altered file types - they are shown as pdf, doc, docx, etc. So while your intent was good, your post did not help. Thanks anyway.

  • Where should I store the collatoral files that are associated with photos stored in lightroom?

Where should I store the collatoral files that are associated with photos stored in lightroom? Items such as pdf files, word documents, etc. How should I connect them to each other so I can find both the photo and the related data?

Lightroom itself will not help you with pdf, word, etc.
However, there is a plugin you can use called AnyFile which will allow you to manage these documents in Lightroom (by assigning keywords and other metadata) so that you can search for all documents (photos, pdf, word, music, powerpoint, etc.) with given metadata.
Because you do this via metadata, it doesn't matter where you put these files. Put them anywhere you want.

  • Where does Bridge CS5 store the metadata files?

Where does Bridge CS5 store the metadata files that are created under the Tools menu?  I moved CS5 from one drive to another on my Mac Pro and lost all of them.  I'd like to recover them is possible.

    Yikes!

…I moved CS5 from one drive to another on my Mac Pro…
First of all, all Adobe applications really need to be installed and reside permanently on your boot volume, i.e. the same volume where your OS resides.  There will be endless grief if you install the applications elsewhere.
Secondly, I hope by "moved" you mean that you deactivated CS5 and then used the Adobe Uninstaller to uninstall CS5, then re-installed CS5 from the original media, from scratch, and not just drag-copied the Application folder.  And hopefully there's an OS installation on that other drive that will allow you to boot off that drive.
Third, you need to refer to your preferences in Bridge as you set them to find out whether you were keeping the cache in distributed folders or were using the central database, whether you were using separate xmp sidecar files, whether you had Export Cache to Distributed Folders set in Bridge preferences, etc..

  • Where should I store the rendered files?

(My Color projects are in "Documents")
Where should I store the rendered files?
On my external HD with my FCP media? Or on my Hard Disk is fine ?
Can I calculate that 1 Go of DV NTSC = 1 Go of rendered file in 10 bits?
    Many thanks

this came up as a topic at a recent FCPUG seminar.
Since the dawn of time, it is recommended practice to keep your media off the application drive.
The more disks you have spinning, the better the chance that you will get the data throughput rates that will support the demands of your media. Whether that's a RAID or a JBOD, its up to you how you value your time and assets.
I keep things as 'external' as possible, mostly because clients are anxious to get the material back, but I'd have to keep moving stuff around just to maintain the space. And I still have to get merciless with all the temporary FCP render stuff.
