Where has my search bar gone?

Since 20mins ago my search bar has disappeared in Safari!
I now only have an address bar?
I have tried to customise and also ~/library/preferences/ as described in one of the other posts but to no avail.
How frustrating!

This is not the Safari forum. What version of Safari are you using? If 6.0 then the Google search at the right is gone. Replaced by a single search / url address search. If 5.17, View>Customize Toolbar.

I would like to be able to update FF only when I want to, but it forces me to update by stopping working a day or two after the new version appears! Anyway, since updating to 34, my search bar, which I use all the time for different search engines, has vanished, so I've had to revert to version 33. I imagine, at some point it will decide to stop working, and I'll have to upgrade, but I'd like my search bar back before I do, if that's possible?

Thank you very much. It appears that if I disable one extension (Organize Search Engines), then the search bar comes back, but another extension that is not disabled (Add to Search Bar) has stopped working. I have emailed the developer of these extensions, so hopefully there will be a resolution.

I KNEW it would happen, I even predicted it - this morning Firefox just decided not to bother opening at all, because I had the TEMERITY to be using an old version. I mean, who do I think I am? How DARE I have a reason for not wanting to upgrade! It won't even run in safe mode!
SO, I had to download the latest version of Firefox FROM SAFARI!!!
And now I have the same problem with the search bar as I had before. Firefox therefore, has wasted an hour of my time for nothing. Again! Thanks a bunch, Firefox!

You have the Classic Theme Restorer extension and that makes the Navigation Toolbar work differently.
You can check the settings of this extension in its Options/Preferences in Firefox/Tools > Add-ons > Extensions.
It is also possible to hide the Navigation Toolbar when CTR is installed and enabled.
Make sure all toolbars are visible.

*Right-click empty toolbar area
Open the Customize window and set which toolbar items to display.

You can try to delete the xmlstore.json file in the Firefox profile folder.

Where oh where has my top bar gone?

Sorry for the easy question to you guys. But every time i crop a pic it goes to a single dot. I heard that its because i have the pic width set to 1 pixel. My problem is that i cant get the top bar that has that info to show up so i can change it. Its the bar that has stuff like when youre selecting fonts, text, pixel size for cropping etc... its gone and i cant find it please help.

You mean the Options bar, where you would enter the width, height, ppi, for the Crop Tool?
If you click Window - Options, does it come back?
If not, are you in Full Screen mode? Cycle through the screen modes by pressing F.

The Application Bar was intentionally removed. A majority of users told us they'd rather have the extra vertical space for their images than the Application Bar.
All of the commands are available elsewhere or can be access more easily with keyboard shortcuts:
Mini-bridge is accessible from the bottom panel (now a part of the default UI).
Cmd + Opt + o (Mac) Ctrl + Alt + o (Windows) to launch Bridge.
Show Guides: Cmd + ; (Mac) Ctrl + ; (Win)
Show Grids: Cmd + ' (Mac) Ctrl + ' (Win)
Show Rulers: Cmd + r (Mac) Ctrl + r (Win)
Zoom level can be controlled via keyboard shortcuts or UI found at the bottom of the document window.
You can access the arrange options under the Window>Arrange> menu
Screen mode has been added back to the bottom of the tool bar.
CS Live has been discontinued.

The progress bar has DISAPPEARED from the bottom of my forms. They are questionnaires so it is essential that I have them!

It no longer appears for a one page form or on the last page of a multiple page form.

Where has the preview panel gone is Bridge CS5?

Today when I opened up Bridge, the preview panel on the right hand side has disappeared. It shows as being selected when I go to the Window Menu but it isn't there. The scroll bar is also missing so I can't view all of the thumbnails. Does anyone have any ideas about why this has happened and how I can return it to it's normal format? Thanks, Michelle.

If you have it turned on it is now under the music section on the top where you have Songs, Albums etc. It is on the far right next to Match.
If you cannot see it then Preferences and Tick Radio Option
If it is still npt there the Preferences, Parental and untick Disable Radio

bit of a pain as i used it quite often

iTunes 7 is pretty smart overall, nevertheless I have a few serious gripes with the interface. Firstly the little 'snowflake' icon on the bottom right that switches on the visuals has been replaced by the browse and burn icons. Was there a problem with the previous layout? My wife and I use that button everytime we turn on the visuals on our Mac Mini sound system in the living room. It was super convenient because you could move in a single mouse sweep from selecting a playlist to switching on visuals. With iTunes 7 you have to either select from the pop-down menu or switch to the keyboard and press cmd+T. It might not seem such a big deal to some but it's definitely a backwards step, no matter how small.
The album art selector/display is very cool and niftily programmed however I'll never use it. The reason? Because if you fill it with album artwork, all those images are displayed over the visualiser at the start of each tune, which I HATE. I don't want sleeve designs ruining the beauty of G-Force which I paid good money to see. It's bad enough having the track info show when I already know what's playing! iTunes 7 is simply not configurable enough if you ask me, and hey, you shouldn't have to start configuring Fkeys to make up for the fundemental lack of choice in the program preferences.
I have a pal who loves the gapless playback in the new iTunes 7 because it's great for mix cds. Well maybe that's the best playback feature of iTunes 7 but I'm afraid it doesn't make up for the loss of the visualiser button, so there!

Help! Where has all my storage gone? iPhone 4

Ive recently had a replacement Iphone for the one that I had lost. My old phone had over 900 songs on it and about 70 apps and i still had around a gb free. Since ive had my new phone ive backed it up from Icloud and lost a lot of space. I only have 279 songs on it and 53 apps and i have no space left. Im confused. I have an 8gb Iphone 4 which runs version 5.1.1. Where has all my storage gone and how do i get it back.

You should have 13 GB available after the iOS and the Apple Apps ...The rest is yours to fill. If you connect to iTunes you will see a graphical representation of how your iPhone's storage is currently consumed. Also you could Reset the phone and check the available space again. Hold Sleep / Wake button down and the Home key at the same time until the Apple logo appears, then release the buttons and wait until the Reset brings you back to the lock-screen.

Along with what Skydiver119 has already told you, my 64GB iPad 3 only had 57GB of available storage out of the box, so if you keep doubling the amount of already used storage on the device as you go from 16 to 32 to 64 and then to 128GB - I assume that the figure that you see is correct. The iOS and preinstalled apps account for the storage that seems to be "missing" to you on your iPad.
The amount that you see in Settings>General>About>Capacity is in fact, the available storage capacity for your iPad. You can't change it. It is whatever it says it is in that setting.

I have just loaded Yosemite. When I open a TextEdit document the search bar no longer appears in the top right hand corner of the window. Is there a setting to get it back?

Regarding the search bar - that explains a lot. I think everyone responding so far thought that the search bar was shrinking.
Regarding shrinking text, there is an easy explanation :
when you press Command plus - (minus) key you step down the font size in your selected text in TextEdit.
Do that again and you will go from Typeface Menlo size 17 down to 16, do it again and it goes down to 15 and so on.
Press Command plus + and you step up the selected text by a point size....and the process reverses itself.
So since you now know that "Command + minus" steps typeface size down and "Command + plus" steps typeface size up you can stop doing that and you won't have shrinking text
