Where has the black background box behind attachments come from?
Suddenly I have a black box behind any attachments. It is like a text box. It has not been there before!
If I choose to print to a pdf attachment in an eMail the attachment id superimposed on a black text box with an 'X' in the corner, click the 'x' the lot disappears. But if you turn the attachment into an icon and highlight it then erase it, left behind is a black text box into which any new typed message appears.
How do I get rid of this, any suggestions well received.

I get this when sending invoices from Market Circle's Billings.
One workaround I have found that works is once the file and a new message is open in mail, create a new message then drag and drop the attachment over then create your message in the new mail.
I agree though - need a permanent fix soon.

Where does the second page of PREVIEW CONTRACT come from?
I am using 11.5.10.2, and I would like to know where the second page of PDF output comes from when I select PREVIEW CONTRACT from the VIEW CONRACT TERMS window. It does not appear to be part of the layout template named "PO Terms and Conditions". It does not appear to come from the XML SCHEMA file defined for the "Contract Terms Data Definition".
This page appears to be very much like a purchase order. I have tailored the XML template for printing purchase orders, and I need to be able to tailor the look of this doument as well.
ThanksWell, I eventually figured this one out!!! There is a template (or more correctly an XSL stylesheet) that is delivered with Oracle. You can find it by using XML Publisher Administrator -> Templates, and looking for "Standard Purchase Order Stylesheet". This template is locked, meaning we can't update or replace it. It is also the format which you see (or saw) when you choose "Preview Contract". You can select 'preview' from the XML ADMIN template screen and you'll see what it looks like.
I also learned that there is a matching between "document type" and "Document Template" and also between "document type" and "Contract Template". And that the document type of 'PO' with document subtype of 'STANDARD' was associated with the "Standard Purchase Order Stylesheet".
I also found that
NM PO ADMINISTRATOR -> SETUP -> PURCHASING -> DOCUMENT TYPE
allows you to select a document type (like PURCHASE ORDER ... STANDARD). This displays a screen which has fields called "Document Type Layout" and
"Contract Terms Layout". This is where you can specify your own template (instead of the default one). -
Where has the back arrow gone? No help from suggested change to tab preferences
I also have lost the back arrow in Safari 6.0 running under Mountain Lion. Change of tab in preferences does not seem to help.
James, as always, go up to "View" then click on "Customize Toolbar, and drag the forward&back arrows on to the top of your toolbar.

placing the 8800gt on my 3.0 early 2008 mp????I can confirm that our 2007 and 2008 Mac Pros have two 6 pin power connectors on the motherboard near the PCIe bay inlet fan.
We're still waiting for our GeForce 8800 GT kit to arrive. I know the Quadro FX 5600 needs two power feeds but does the GeForce 8800 GT require two feeds? I understood it only needed one and that you can put two GeForce 8800 GTs in the 2008 Mac Pro (as long as there are no other PCIe cards present) without exceeding the 300 watt PCIe bus limit. I was planning to do that and use one power cord for each.
BTW, we had a PC version of the GeForce 8800 GTX "lying around" so we tried it. Of course, it won't work with OS X, but it booted up fine with our Boot Camp partition with Vista 64. It has two power receptacles. We happened to have two PCIe power cables designed for the Quadro FX 4500, GeForce 7800 GT, and Radeon X1900 XT, so that wasn't a problem. We get "killer" frame rates with Prey and other PC 3D games! -
My iTunes 11.0 (mac) has a black background colour and I can not see all of the information for each song. How do I change the background colour in iTunes 11.0 (mac) so I can see check boxes etc. My download window shows no information, it is entirely black.

Someone else in the forum told me how to do this. If you have Onyx on your system then select Parameters, iTunes and turn off high contrast mode. If you don't have Onyx, I'd suggest getting it. It is freeware and used to help maintain your system. Good luck

My Ipad has a black background now and everything is color faded after the latest software update? I restored and reset the Ipad. How can this be fixed?
How much data is being backed-up from each Mac? (see what's shown for Estimated size of full backup under the exclusions box in Time Machine Prefs > Options).
Is there any other data on your Time Capsule, besides the backups?
Most likely, there just isn't room. Time Machine may be trying to do a very large (or full) backup of one or both Macs, and can't. Since it won't ever delete the most recent backup, there has to be enough room for one full backup plus whatever it's trying to back up now, plus 20% (for workspace).

my iPhone has a black background and the classic rotating wheel. I try it to put it in DFU but when I turn it on it goes back in this modality and my mac doesn't recognize the phone. HELP ME!

Why can`t you change the black background behind icons
I just got an iPhone yesterday and the thing works great no problems at all .... except that you cant change the black background behind the icons only the `slide to unlock` screen.
how stupid you could even change the background on the old school nokia phones from 1998.
this should be something apple lets us do on the next release
what does everyone else think is there a way to change that black screen to a custom wallpaper WITH OUT HACKING IT. i dont believe in that and i would appreciate no one posting about hacking it.

am trying to set my background setting to change when ever I log in, I clicked on both 'change picture' and 'random order' boxes as my settings, but when ever I log in it has the same background as before. Does any body know how to fix this?
You have to enter the Apple ID and password. You are running into the Activation Lock

When I go into bookmarks and click on a site, the screen shows what appears to be a compass with a lock overlay, on a black background. At the bottom the address/url are shown. Theses cannot be opened. Other bookmarks have the black background and compass, but no lock. These can be opened by clicking on the compass. What is wrong?
Thanks to the-edmeister and cor-el, for speed of response. I had not inadvertently moved the Bookmarks-Toolbar : I was confronted with the situation right after Firefox 9 had installed and unfolded in front of me. At first, the toolbar area looked reassuringly familiar, but when I started normal work, I discovered the lack of tabs and the only reference I could see to TABS was a tiny button inviting me to group tabs (which was unhelpful to say the least, filling up the screen with tiny unreadable windows). Sure, there were tabs forming, but they were invisible, unless I used the group button. Eventually, I was brave enough to use "reset toolbars" and the tabs came back in the way I want them, but it was a traumatic 2-3 hours out of my life. I kept on "adding a new toolbar" to see if I could make use of it; I kept giving them names, but it is impossible to see where the new tool bar is! (the toolbars don't have a little bit to grab at one end). In my opinion, Firefox should not have allowed the Tab Bar and the Bookmarks Toolbar to become caught up with each other - they have completely different functions. I don't think I would like to play around with "Make a new profile"! I was so desperate that I have already downloaded version 3.6 again, ready to install, for if I was unable to resolve the version 9 problems above.

Surprise surprise but we can't see what you are looking at and referring to.
What black background?
If it is black background in the actual photo:
Menu > Format > Instant Alpha > drag the cursor over the colored background you wish to remove

My IPhone 3GS JailBroken turns on but shuts off then the black background comes up with white apple logo? And then turns on again? Does it over and over! HELP! Why Does This Happen And Is This Repairable?
