Where have the photos gone?

Following a recent upgrade my photos seem to have vanished - not a unique occurance it appears!
I have read suggestions that I could reestablish links via iTunes. However, my itunes softwear homepage appears to also have lost the photo section (music, TV, books, podcasts, Apps etc are all avalilble but Photos are simply missing from the page). Any ideas about how I find the "photos" on the itune home page?
thanks

I would like to help clarify what is happening with Revel. Revel does not take files from your Mac or PC. The only files that moved are ones from Photoshop.com to Revel. Cloud - to - cloud. The only way they could disappear from your computer that I can think of is if you deleted them or you had Elements syncing to your Photoshop.com account and you deleted them from Photoshop.com before syncing.
Emails were sent out to users explaining that Photoshop.com was about to be discontinued, and informing users that their files would be migrated to Revel unless they opted out. This was done as a courtesy so that users could have a means of saving all their photos (jpg) on the cloud for viewing and sharing without having to go to the effort of archiving and re-uploading. Additional  emails went out closer to the time. The opt out period has ended and we are in the transition period actively migrating photos to Revel.
If you had photos on Photoshop.com and their migration is complete (you would receive an email), then go to adoberevel.com on a a browser and login the same way you did in photoshop.com...with an adobe id(email) and password. Your files will either be in a library  called photoshop.com library or in one called <your first name>'s library.
If you need more assistance, please let me know.

  • Where have the charts gone in iTunes 11?

In genereal I like iTunes 11 but I can't find any top 10 charts for music, movies, TV shows apps or books! Where have the charts gone?

Thanks Poikkeus but I still can't find it! I assume you're referring to the music pulldown menu? There's no Charts selection in there. Maybe it's different for iTunes Australia?

  • Where are the photos gone? Help!

Hi, maybe this is a known topic, but stilll...
    I have iPhoto 7.1.1
I wanted to have some photos in a separate iPhoto library
I duplicated the actual iPhoto Library
I opened the original iPhoto Library and deleted the some photos and web gallery albums
Then I opened the copy of the iPhoto Library. It isempty!
Then I opened a backup of the original iPhoto Library on an external volume. This was empty too!
The same gose for anothe iPhoto Library I used to order calendars, it is now empty.
How can I recover the original Photos?
    Thanks,
    Andre

    Andre:
How did you duplicate your original library? Open the duplicate library package like this, look inside the Originals folder and see if your photos are there.
TIP: For insurance against the iPhoto database corruption that many users have experienced I recommend making a backup copy of the Library6.iPhoto database file and keep it current. If problems crop up where iPhoto suddenly can't see any photos or thinks there are no photos in the library, replacing the working Library6.iPhoto file with the backup will often get the library back. By keeping it current I mean backup after each import and/or any serious editing or work on books, slideshows, calendars, cards, etc. That insures that if a problem pops up and you do need to replace the database file, you'll retain all those efforts. It doesn't take long to make the backup and it's good insurance.
I've created an Automator workflow application (requires Tiger), iPhoto dB File Backup, that will copy the selected Library6.iPhoto file from your iPhoto Library folder to the Pictures folder, replacing any previous version of it. It's compatible with iPhoto 08 libraries and Leopard. iPhoto does not have to be closed to run the application, just idle. You can download it at Toad's Cellar. Be sure to read the Read Me pdf file.

  • Where have my photos gone?

I recently had a problem with Aperture resulting in me having to uninstall/reinstall it. All projects in the last 18 months and photos have been deleted! Previously, it was not syncing with Iphoto, so the photos weren't there. Now it has synced but is not showing these photos. These events are still on my Ipad, which I am now reluctant to sync with my Imac, as I am converned that they will disappear also. Any ideas how I can sort this mess out?

You do not mention, what kind of trouble shooting measures you already have done after reinstalling Aperture?
Just to be sure, have you checked the filters in Browser and Library inspector, if you are really showing all library items? The filters should be displaying "All items" or "Showing All". And did Aperture open your current library, and not create a new, empty one?
And have you repaired and rebuild the library after reinstalling Aperture? If not, try the First Aid Tools, see:
Repairing and Rebuilding Your Aperture Library: Aperture 3 User Manual
Previously, it was not syncing with Iphoto, so the photos weren't there. Now it has synced but is not showing these photos.
What do you mean? iPhoto on iPad or iPhoto in iLife on Mac? Have you migrated your Library from iPhoto? And how are you syncing? With iTunes or Wi-Fi? Please explain in more detail.

  • Where have my photo gone?

I set up 4 albums with photos I want to use as my landscape portfolio. Figured out how to arrange them by copy/paste and now most of the photos have disappeared and I have empty albums that I can't seem to delete. I uploaded them from my desktop (iMac) and the camera roll which origionally had 95 photos now only has 3 photos. What have I done wrong?

Every time I try to add new photos, the ones already added disappear. Is there a way to save the photos so the new sync doesn't wipe them out?

  • Where have the widgets gone??

OK, I know this is probably not the correct forum for this but I couldn't actually find one so here it is. I used to be able to browse straight to the downloads section of the Apple website to where all the demos, freeware, and widgets live, but lately I just cannot for the life of me find any of that section of the website. I can find support downloads, updates and the like, but not freeware and widgets etc.
Could someone please point me in the right direction? From http://www.apple.com/uk/ where do I go?
    Thanks muchly!

    HI,
At your Apple home page look on the right side of the window for this:
    Type in: Widgets

  • Where have the landscapes gone???

Small point, but why oh why have Apple done away with the horizontal versions of the postcards and greetings cards??
Thank heavens I ordered enough invites and haven't gotta go back, otherwise I'd be getting a different product....CRazy!

Hey there. If you have your Mac OS X Install Disc1 that came with your machine, you have the iLife package on it, and can do the reinstall.
Insert the disc into your drive. When the window comes up for the disc in the Finder, scroll down and find the icon called something like "Install Bundled Software". When you start this application, you can hit the Custom Install button, and select JUST iMovie HD.

  • Ignorant question: Where have my photos gone?

Apologies if you think this has been covered previously but similar queries haven't answered my ignorant but basic question. I can't find where my photos are saved to in iPhoto 08 - in 06, the file structure is 1) visible to me and 2) arranged chronologically. Please put me out of my misery and tell me where I can find the files!
    Cheers,
    Bobber

With iPhoto 7 (iLife 08) the old iPhoto Library Folder is now a Unix Style Package File. The change was made to the format of the iPhoto library because many users were inadvertently corrupting their library by browsing through it with other software or making changes in it themselves.
Want to visit with them? Find the Library icon in the Pictures Folder and right click on it. From the resulting menu select ‘Show Package Contents’. A Finder Window will open with the Library Exposed. It will look familiar.
Standard Warning: Don't change anything in the iPhoto Library Folder via the Finder or any other application. iPhoto depends on the structure as well as the contents of this folder. Moving things, renaming things or otherwise making changes will prevent iPhoto from working and could even cause you to damage or lose your photos.
There are many, many ways to access your files in iPhoto:
    *For Users of 10.5 Only*
You can use any Open / Attach / Browse dialogue. On the left there's a Media heading, your pics can be accessed there. Apple-Click for selecting multiple pics.
    Uploaded with plasq's Skitch!
You can access the Library from the New Message Window in Mail:
    Uploaded with plasq's Skitch!
    *For users of 10.4 and 10.5* ...
Many internet sites such as Flickr and SmugMug have plug-ins for accessing the iPhoto Library. If the site you want to use doesn’t then some, one or any of these will also work:
To upload to a site that does not have an iPhoto Export Plug-in the recommended way is to Select the Pic in the iPhoto Window and go File -> Export and export the pic to the desktop, then upload from there. After the upload you can trash the pic on the desktop. It's only a copy and your original is safe in iPhoto.
This is also true for emailing with Web-based services. However, if you're using Gmail you can use iPhoto2GMail
If you use Apple's Mail, Entourage, AOL or Eudora you can email from within iPhoto.
If you use a Cocoa-based Browser such as Safari, you can drag the pics from the iPhoto Window to the Attach window in the browser.
*If you want to access the files with iPhoto not running*:
Create a Media Browser using Automator (takes about 10 seconds) or use this free utility Karelia iMedia Browser
    Other options include:
    1. *Drag and Drop*: Drag a photo from the iPhoto Window to the desktop, there iPhoto will make a full-sized copy of the pic.
    2. *File -> Export*: Select the files in the iPhoto Window and go File -> Export. The dialogue will give you various options, including altering the format, naming the files and changing the size. Again, producing a copy.
    3. *Show File*: Right- (or Control-) Click on a pic and in the resulting dialogue choose 'Show File'. A Finder window will pop open with the file already selected.
You can set Photoshop (or any image editor) as an external editor in iPhoto. (Preferences -> General -> Edit Photo: Choose from the Drop Down Menu.) This way, when you double click a pic to edit in iPhoto it will open automatically in Photoshop or your Image Editor, and when you save it it's sent back to iPhoto automatically. This is the only way that edits made in another application will be displayed in iPhoto.
All of the above are a: Faster and b: Safer that rooting through the folders of the iPhoto Library.

  • HT4796 where have my photos gone?

the folders have migrated across bu there are no photos within the folders?

Your default photo library should be in ~/Pictures (enter this location via Finder Go > Go to Folder command).  It shouldn't move on its own or by an OSX update.  If it's not there you'll need to search for "iPhoto Library".  Another option would be any backups you have done.

  • Where have the images gone?

Help please - Im using Lightroom V2.5 and have successfully created a web gallery, however once uploaded images are not visible. works fine offline - any suggestions please? you can check this out at www.picturethisfoto.com/photos/index.html - I have also tried the many different templates and all with the same result - what have I overlooked?  Thanks

Lightroom Galleries store the images in a folder called 'bin'. Windows Servers don't allow access to things in the folder 'bin' directly. So you can't see them essentially.
Here's a blog post on Flash galleries on this: http://lightroom-blog.com/2009/09/modifying-lightroom-flash-gallery-for.html
HTML is similar, but you need to modify the detail.html page also.

  • Help - where have my photos gone ?

Loaded Iphoto 11 and now I can't view some of my photos..
They show in the preview but when I click onto them I just get a black screen with a silver exclaimation mark on it - whats going on ?
    thanks

The ! or ? turns up when iPhoto loses the connection between the thumbnail in the iPhoto Window and the file it represents.
    iOption 1
Back Up and try rebuild the library: hold down the command and option (or alt) keys while launching iPhoto. Use the resulting dialogue to rebuild. Choose to Rebuild iPhoto Library Database from automatic backup.
    If that fails:
    Option 2
Download iPhoto Library Manager and use its rebuild function. This will create a new library based on data in the albumdata.xml file. Not everything will be brought over - no slideshows, books or calendars, for instance - but it should get all your albums and keywords, faces and places back.
Because this process creates an entirely new library and leaves your old one untouched, it is non-destructive, and if you're not happy with the results you can simply return to your old one.

  • Where have the movies gone from uk store?

Since upgrading to iTunes 7, I can't see where to buy the movie shorts anymore, the option just isn't there.
The couple of pixar shorts I bought before the upgrade still work fine and are listed in my movies, but it seems you can't buy them anymore?

Please double-check if you turned iTunes Match on in error. Did you recently sync your device with iTunes? Did you change or use a different Apple ID? Did you  connect your device to another computer? Etc, etc...
In any case, you can re-download all your purchases for free. Just sign in to iTunes Store with the proper Apple ID and select the Purchases tab.

  • Where hav the buttons gone?

In Ps CS5, there were a number of buttons in the top menu/function bar to the right of the help button. They were: Br, Mb, View extras, Arrange Documents and Screen Mode. They made some oft repeated tasks very convenient. Can they be added as part of a custom workspace?

    Thanks for the explanation.
But why does a dark Color Theme seem to be the default?
    Rhetoric questions:
Why do so many people who ostensibly do work for neither film nor video seem to use dark Color Themes?
What especially annoyed me about seeing this feature implemented was that the in my opinion truly relevant feature request regarding scalable UI elements (including the menu) awaits implementation yet.
I have no idea about the intricacies of and (OS) obstacles to such a feature and therefore do not intend to crititicize the Photoshop programmers regarding this.
It just seemed to me a much more relevant issue what with ageing Photoshop users and higher resolution screens.
