Where/How to change the domain?

Hello,
the domain of the application server has changed.
Where or how do I have to change the entries for the domain the application server is in?
For example:
old Domain:
myreportserver.olddomain.com
new domain:
myreportserver.newdomain.de
So, where and which entries do I have to change?

Either, you can...
Use $ORACLE_HOME/chgip/scripts/chgiphost.sh to change the domain name
or
Create a virtual host where the ServerName use the new Server.domain that you wish.
In this forum you may find info for both ways, look for chgiphost and virtualhost.

Go to SE11.

double click on the data element name and over there again double click on the domain name. So you are in the domain.

We've developed an application using the WDA(Web Dynpro for ABAP) on BI 7.0 and in this we are displaying the BI reports as well. This whole appliaction works fine when we run this on the BI portal 7.0. But when we run it from the Enterprise Portal 6.0
the reports don't show up and it goes in the never ending loop. After research we found that this is happening because the
Domain names of the BI portal and the Enterprise Portal are not the same. And as per one of the SAP note the prerequisite for the WDA application to run on the EP portal is to have the same domain name on both the portals.
Now we are planning to change the domain name on the BI portal.
Does anyone let me know how and where we need to go and change this Domain name ?

Hi,
first step is to configure your DNS server. There has to be a name resolution for portal.domain.tld to your portal server's IP address.
Right now I don't have access to Visual Administrator, so I cannot check if there is any domain specific configation to be done on the server side.
As for the SSO between your Portal and WDA: you'll have to recreate the portal server certificates and import it into the ABAP system.
The Logon Ticket MYSAPSSO2 has to be issued to the new domain by the portal! If not, your browser won't sent this cookie to the BI system and no SSO data will be transmitted to the BI system.

How to change the domain name

Our company was bought in an acquisition and for a long time we kept out domain and firewall. Now, we have to move the servers physically and on the new domain. All Oracle servers have been installed with the service of ORANAME.usdv.sdv.com and the TNS names use the same Service tag. The databases created with dbca also get this service extension on install.
I did not find a lot to read about a domain change in Oracle. Looking for an idea on what complications I may expect and how to actually perform the domain change, tips and tricks, some materials to read, etc.
It looks that I have to change the tnsnames.ora on all clients,but is this going to be enough? Do I need to redo netca on clients and servers?

Thanks a lot. I'm sorry I did not specify that in my initial post - this was actually what I read but could not find anything more on that...
I have a couple of questions like:
When do I have to alter the database to change tha name - before or after to join to the new domain?
Also, is the statement "ALTER DATABASE RENAME GLOBAL_NAME TO <dbname.new.domain>" the only thing I need to do? It looks that this command never changes the v$parameter value. Do I need to change it and how to do that?
The doc said :"DB_DOMAIN has no effect on the global database name" but it this true?
Also, is this valid for both 10.2.0.2 and above and 9.2.0.7?

Where(How to change the SMTP- Server

Hello,
i'm using the OAS 10.1.2.0.2
While installation OAS i entered the name of the actual working SMTP- Server.
Sending mails worked fine until today.
Now the name of the SMTP- Server has changed and i wanted to change it(the name) in the Application Server, but i didn't find one/all place(s) where i had to change the name(s) of the SMTP- Server.
Is there anyone who can help me??

I don't think you can. Just delete the super and add them again.

We have a cron tab say running on 30 20 * * 1-5 on our production. And in EM it was set to 30 20 * * 0-4 earlier, so we r getting alert on Sunday. So I want to change in EM also to 30 20 * * 1-5 so that we ll not get the EM alert on Sunday night. Where or how in EM to change this ?

I am afraid that using Blackouts is the only way to avoid OEM GC generating alerts.
Note that I am revering to the Alerts that will be shown in the OEM Console.
If you want to influence the moment a Notification will result in an E-mail, you might want to take a look at the Notification Schedule, that allows you to do a-mail notification based on date and time to different mailboxes.

Changed the domain of the server where BO Edge is installed

We changed the domain of the server where BO Edge resided and the domain of our database server. We are not getting the error message "Failed to register with name server. Reason: a server of this name already exists". This occurs whenever we try to start any of the servers from the CCM. What are or did we do wrong?

My understanding is that Edge is the same base code as XI 3.0 and it shouldn't have any errors when changing domain name or hostname. I don't have this version installed but in the CCM is there a CMS (+other services) or a SIA?
I'm not sure what changing the domain on the DB server would do, What type of DB are you using?

Your basic panel must have been accidentally deselected.
Simply right-click on one of the other panels e.g. Tone Curve and choose basic again - see image below.
You can also select solo mode, if you prefer to work in one panel at a time with the others collapsing automatically when you click on another tab.

You won't be able to change your rescue email address until you can answer your questions, if you don't have access to your current rescue account then you will need to contact Support in your country to get the questions reset.

This is where I will be shot down in flames but at least in 7.x I am unaware of any configuration option that allows you to export in anything other than space delimited.
I guess you could write a shell/perl script that could change this outside of Essbase

If it's 3.1 just change them, shouldn't cause any issues if by domain name you are referring to changing the domain the computer belongs to. If you are changing your domain for AD authentication then you will may have to take quite a few steps if the old domain is going away. Let us know.
